Walking Tour Of Lucca And Its Walls

We were met by a very friendly guide. We were treated to wonderful stories about the town and buildings as we walked through historic streets. The city has many wonderful restaurants and shops to see. Our guide's recommendations were excellent. It was well worth having someone knowledgeable help us with this adventure.

You don’t see alit of the wall surrounding the historical city. It is worth your time to walk around the complete wall surrounding tbe historical Lucca

I booked this 2 hour tour for my second morning in Lucca to help me feel more oriented and settled in. The guide was very knowledgeable about all the sites she took us through. She was also considerate of the people in our group of 9. She did not walk too fast and made sure we had a chance for a snack and toilet. There were interesting stops that I revisited later in my week in Lucca with confidence thanks to the tour. I was also pleasantly surprised to end at San Frediano, steps from my apartment. I definitely recommend this well run and well priced tour.

A great introduction to Lucca, Anna was informative and engaging, the tour was well paced with the right balance of history, culture and general information of the area.

Knowledgeable guide and good overview of the town of Lucca. Anna covered the basics and more. Even allowed time for refreshments in a small piazza.

A dual language tour - the engagement may have been better for those who speak Italian, in English there was no enthusiasm for the City, maybe better to read a tour guide book yourself.

Be careful booking this experience. The tour guide did not show. iMessage the tour operator via that app and there was no response. It wasn’t until over an hour later that I got a response from the tour guide that she “forgot“ that she was already booked for this tour. once I contacted Viator they were able to process my refund.

Guide was knowledgable and enthusiastic. Tour was enjoyable. Would recommend as a complement to church tours.

We waited for 30 minutes but Anna never showed. We received a notice of the cancellation 2 hours later. This was probably not the fault of the guide.

Wonderful tour of Lucca with Anna learning all about the town’s historic architecture, history, and culture. Was the perfect amount of time.

The guide didn't build any personal connection with us at all. It felt like listening to a history teacher's lecture at school. She would talk about historic events without shutting up or pausing for questions. If we asked a question, she talked over us before we finished the question, gave a rushed answer to a question we didn't ask, turned around and moved on, while continuing talking away from us. At one point our group just split up into multiple sub-groups who decided to stop by the attractions they wanted to check out on their own - sign of a great tour.

Anna is a very professional guide, she gave us a great tour around Lucca! We were introduced in its history and architecture.

It was only ok! we were expecting a little more she said it would last 2 hours and she cut it short because she had another tour at eleven. Before that we had a long coffee stop which we could have taken at the end. Otherwise we enjoyed it.

We really enjoyed our little walking tour ❤ of Lucca's walls & history with Antonella Bertolani. She showed great passion for the history of the town & on this very hot day tried to give us lots of shade to make us comfortable. We enjoyed the tour and while it was good to give the tour in English and Italian (4 people, 2 from US, 2 from Italy), we wished it could have been in just 1 language. Anna did a good job

Learned alot about Lucca today. Anna was very knowledgeable. Many walls to explore and lots of history within those walls.

The tour is not actually a walking tour of the city and its walls, but only a tour pretty much focused on the walls. The guide was nice and agreed to walk to the cathedral, but, for the rest, I haven't seen much of the city itself. The guide was a nice, good girl, but she didn't have a story to tell and she explanations were kind of superficial. Only few words per subject. I am sorry to say that the tour was neither interesting nor entertaining. I still tipped the guide with 20 euros, as she was very accommodating with my requests.

We were late and called Anna to tell her we would be. She waited for us which was very nice but then took that time off tour. We had 11 am tour, arrived at 11:30ish and she ended at 1:30 because she had another tour coming up at 2p, so totally understand. Thanks to her for waiting for us! Tour was informative. People with us had been to Lucca before so not as eye opening to them but we enjoyed the tour and we had a great day to walk around.

This was a lovely introduction to the area. Anna was very knowledgeable and coped as well as you can having to speak in two languages to the group - about 10 of us including 3 children who coped exceedingly well. Due to the heat of the day we found the language swapping a bit difficult to focus and we probably didn’t get all we could have. Made me appreciate what the Germans in another tour we did were going through.

I enjoyed the tour of Lucca and its walls. The town is charming, and the guide was knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful. She helped us get a transfer back to Florence as it was too late to take a train, especially since there was no direct train due to the track repair.

We were looking forward to this English language tour, but it turned out that it was us and two Italian people. The guide spent most of the tour speaking we then and we had to keep asking her what she had just said to them. We actually made our excuses and left this tour partway through.

Do not book this tour, we booked, paid and then arrived for the tour. I didn't have internet and then as we were waiting a email has come through that she had sent 1 hour before tour to cancel. Very very bad don't book

Great walking tour of Lucca with plenty of information. I would particularly like to emphasize that the tour was completed even though I was the only participant. In this case, I could absolutely have understood a cancellation on the part of the guide. So again grazie Anna.
