We had a great time in Lucca. Marco, our guide, too us to two small wineries outside of the city and we liked both. Especially the second winery, Tenuta Mareli, had wines that the two of us liked a lot (we were not planning but we ended up buying a couple of bottles) and snacks that were tasty and generous. Highly recommended!

Francesco (vineyard owner) was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the entire experience so much fun. We also had a blast getting to know the others in our group, which made it even more memorable. The organic wines were outstanding, the food pairings were amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Tuscany. Highly recommend!
We had an amazing experience! Marco took us to two different organic wineries and we had a wonderful time learning about the vineyards, villas, and the Italian wine making experience. At the wineries, there were pairings and a light lunch. We highly recommend this tour!
Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The vineyard staff were too. We had a wonderful time. The vineyard was beautiful and the view was fantastic.
Thomaso was an ideal guide. He was extremely knowledgable about the local culture, geography and wines. He is very chill and allowed us to go at our own pace and we never felt rushed for time. He even dropped us close to our airbnb so we didn't have to walk far after a day of wine tasting. The places he chose were very Lucca specific and wonderful. I highly reccomend this tour!
A wonderful visit to a small, family-owned vineyard and olive oil producer. After a tour of the grounds and wine cave, we had a great tasting of 4 wines accompanied by and assortment of local bread, cheeses, meats and their own olive oil. A nice low-key environment in an uncrowded and relaxed environment.
This was just an amazing and authentic experience! We went to vineyard and was greeted by the sommelier. He explained the entire process from start to finish; then we proceeded to sample his wine! Under the Tuscan sun, we sat outside and enjoyed 4 delicious types of wine and were served a variety of appetizers. If you want something real and authentically Italian, this is a great choice! Very knowledgeable experience and not far from town.
The guide, Rafaela, was very funny and knowledgeable. The host at the winery, Julia, was very versed in all of grapes, wines and olive oil. After our tour, we were seated in our small group in the vineyard for a tasting, along with charcuterie. Very delicious. Rafele sat for a bit and had more information on the winery. It was a fun environment.
Wonderful!! Tommaso was an exceptional guide. He chose an ancient vineyard in the hills of Lucca that is still being ran organically and produces exceptional wines. The winemaker/host was incredible. We learned so much! And his passion for the land and the wine making process was evident. As if that wasn’t enough, we dined like Tuscans under a tree on the edge of the vineyard enjoying views that lasted for miles, and the pinkest sunset we have ever seen. Tommaso served local delicacies of cheese, cured meats, and bread to accompany the exceptional wines. This review may sound too good to be true, but it all happened. And we loved every minute of it. Thank you Thomaso!
Good tour! Having a great group of people helps tremendously. Short drive and Marco was great. Good organic wine. I’d recommend.
A very special afternoon. Great guide. Great vineyard. Great wine
Cannot recommend this enough! A beautiful few hours spent in the Tuscan hills drinking excellent wine in great company. There was a group of 6 of us so it was a relaxed, friendly vibe. Our guide was really insightful and fun, and the vineyard host was equally as accommodating and knowledgable. They even provided me with lovely vegan options for the snacks paired with the wine. All in all, a fantastic day out.
Excellent tour. Family business, lovely staff, done with a small group. The vineyard is very close to Lucca and the wine is spectacular. Would definitely recommend.
Picked up locally by Raffaele our guide and taken to a small family vineyard run by Francesco. We were the only 3 on the tour so it felt like we were on a private tour which was great. We were shown the vines and how the wine was made and bottled and had some fantastic food whilst sampling plenty of wine. There is no hard sell but you can buy some bottles to take home or arrange to have some shipped home. Raffaele was a great guide and recommended some restuarants and even phoned and booked a table for us. I would recommed this tour.
I really enjoyed this 3-hour Tuscany wine tour. Raffael was an excellent driver and guide, and his passion for Lucca and its history made the journey just as enjoyable as the winery visit. The highlight was visiting Cantina Biagiotti with Francesco. Hearing about his family’s vineyard and winemaking story gave the tasting a personal touch. The tasting was held in a beautiful centuries-old former monastery, where the historic building now houses both the tasting room and wine production facilities. The wine and local food pairings complemented each other perfectly. A well-run, authentic experience that I’d happily recommend to anyone looking to experience a family-run Tuscan winery near Lucca.
We had a great time at the winery tour and tasting. Lunch at Villa Maionchi was lovely, and Tommasso was a great guide - he was really friendly and knowledgeable about the region and local wine. I recommend 100%!
One of the best wine tours we have ever been on. The driver was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The guide at the facility was friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about wine making in Lucca.
Very informative, lovely small group. Very generous portions of food and delicious wines. Francesco was an excellent tour guide, very funny and interesting.
Interesting insight into wine making and beautiful setting Guide and host of winery very welcoming and interesting
It was an amazing experience on a friend ly family owned vineyard 😃
The trip was incredible from our first interaction with Marco and his knowledge of the region on our way up to the vineyard. When we arrived into this beautiful picturesque family run vineyard it was wonderful. Julia our host was so incredibly knowledgeable and thought us a lot about wine making. We had fun tasting the different wine and the lunch was delightful. Overall it was a fantastic experience and we really enjoyed it. Beautiful setting and friendly atmosphere and people. Would highly recommend.
What a guide - what a driver - 100 % score. 3 hours was enough time. The 2 girls from the wine yard gave us a professional tour. The wine tasting and the food was 100 % If i want to take the same tour again = 100 %
We enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting at a family vineyard near Lucca with Tommaso as our guide. Tommaso was well informed, engaging, interesting, and full of good cheer. Julia made us feel very welcome and the wine and lunch were delightful. All in such a wonderful location. It was a perfect quiet day in our busy Italian trip.
We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Fratelli Ubrani winery with Tommi, Carlo and Julia. We had an amazing time. The history, views and wines were all fantastic and we would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone travelling to Lucca. Tommi was informative, friendly, funny and just overall an excellent guide with a deep knowledge on Lucca and its wines.
We had a great time! Our guide was great, on time, and van was nice and new. The vineyard he took us to was small and family run. What a great time!
This is a really authentic experience- wonderful guide and wine tour, beautiful Tuscan vineyard, historic place, and family history. Throughly enjoyed by all.
We had a wonderful time with our tour group and our guide Marco. The winery is in a beautiful setting and we enjoyed learning about the winemaking process and the history of the area. Highly recommended!
Very nice place with an interesting historie. Great guide with a lot of knowledge. We were so lucky to witness the last harvest og 2025.
Pick up on time in fabulous air con minibus by Raff, who was entertaining, knowledgeable and great fun. Arrived at vineyard and met by the owner Francesco who explained about organic grape vines. Then onward to the converted ex monastery now the winery and tasting room. Both Francesco and Raff provided many amazing wines and food for us to try. Top class authentic visit - well worth it.
Enjoyable visit to an old winery in Lucca. So interesting to see original materials as they were used in olden times.
We got picked up in Pisa and made a quick stop in Lucca to pick up more people (in total a group of seven). The driver was a very dedicated guide, who had grown up in Lucca, and had a lot to tell about the area. He was with us throughout the wine tasting, was generous with interesting anecdotes and made sure that all participants were involved. He spread good energy throughout the excursion. The winery we went to was a relatively small farm and the owner was OK - seemed knowledgeable but was perhaps not best suited to receiving larger groups. But overall a very good experience - felt relaxed and authentic and it was interesting to learn more about the wines from Lucca.
This was our first tour with Tomasso and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. Tomasso was so friendly and knowledgeable about the vineyard and ensured that everyone in our group had a good time. I have been on wine tastings with other companies but this is definitely the best one I have done. The groups are small so you get a chance to get to know each other over the fantastic selection of wines and accompanying meats and cheeses provided by the vineyard. Tomasso also kind enough to drop us off at our hotel because it was too much for my elderly mother to walk in the heat from the usual drop off point. I highly recommend this tour and will be rebooking if I return to lucca.
This is our second time going on a tour with Autoservizi DBTuscany! This time my husband and I visited with family, including my eight month niece. A brilliant and must do tour to see and support small businesses in the Lucca area. Wine tasting for beginners at a small family run vineyard. Thank you so much for an unforgettable family day out!
Raffeala was a great guide and very informative. The vineyard was lovely. The food was lovely as well!
It was fantastic! We had a great time and enjoyed the whole experience. Francesco and Raphaello were a super double act x
Great family run winery who manufactures small amounts of wine the old fashioned way. Lots to drink and plenty to eat
We had a wonderful experience on the excursion and visited the best winery, Maionche! The hosts were fabulous from start to finish. 10/10 recommend.
Drivers / Guides were good, friendly and knowledgeable. At the winery Francesco was an excellent host. The wines were lovely but as were the snacks.
We really enjoyed the wine tour yesterday both wineries were excellent and we bought wines from both! Marco our driver and guide was brilliant looked after us all on the day. Would highly recommend the wine tour and this company. Grazie Mille!
Tomasso was WONDERFUL! Everything about the vineyard and farm and it’s history was explained so perfectly. This vineyard is owned by a family that has been growing grapes since 1896. They completely do the wine-making by hand, and it’s organic. There are 4 wines you try with a tagliere of meats, cheese, and bread. The wine was delicious! Tommaso had us each introduce ourselves on the van so instead of being talked at, we became acquainted with each other. It was so much fun because we were from all over the world and it was a wonderful way to get to know each other. I’ve been on other wine tours and they simply don’t touch the experience I had this time! Grazie mille, Tomasso!!!
This was such a nice experience! Small, genuine and authentic. Tommaso was so serviceminded and passionate. The people at the winery told us a lot about the winemaking before we got the tasting of the wines and the local specialities. We ended up staying there for many hours, because the wine and athmosphere was so nice.
Raffo our driver and guide was very good. Told us about Lucca and local wines on the way to the winery. He also added color commentary during the presentation by the winery owner. Due to rain, our tour was limited to the wine cellar. However the owner did a great job explaining his business and process. The tasting room was quaint and 8 of us all sat at a table to sample his wines. We had a white, orange, and two reds. The reds were our favorites. The cheeses and meats were good but portions were skimpy. The online photos suggested there would be more than we received. Overall, we enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.
It was a short van ride from Lucca to a beautiful vineyard where we had a tour of the grounds, then a tour of the wine cellars. Lastly we had a fun wine tasting with cheese, meat and breads. It was great meeting people from other countries on the tour. The host and the tour guides were the best part of the experience!
The winery experience was great. Mario was a great driver and gave us an overview of Lucca as he drive us to the winery. Giacomo, the owner of the winery, was very informative and gave us a great overview of the growing process as well as how they make the wine. He then let us sample 5 of his wines and told us the background on how each wine was made as well as the story behind each one. It was a very intimate experience with me, my husband and 1 other couple. There were small bites of food specifically to be paired with each of the wines. We had a great time and highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in visiting a small family winery in the heart of Tuscany.
The winery experience was great. Marco, our driver was very flexible and prompt when he picked us up in Lucca. On the drive to the winery, he gave us some history on Lucca and pointed out points of interest. Giacoma, the owner of the winery was very informative and gave us a great tour of the vineyard before we headed inside to taste the wine. It was a very intimate group, just my husband and I and another couple. There were small bites of food to taste with the wine. Giacomo did a great job of explaining each wine he served. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to visit a local winery outside of Lucca.
What a wonderful time. Meeting in Lucca was easy and it was a quick drive the vineyard. The wine was fantastic as were the snacks provided and you can purchase more tastings and purchase bottles to take home. Tommaso was a wonderful driver /guide and the staff at the vineyard were amazing as well. Great place to celebrate a birthday.
We really enjoyed the tour, especially that we had some time to enjoy the wine with some appetizers! The vinyard was beautiful and relaxing 😌 this cleansed my soul 💛
Great experience starting with a walk in the vineyard then a tour through their winemaking process by owner Francesco. He then invited us to sit and enjoy his wines accompanied by some delicious food. We tasted white, orange, and red wines, most award-winning. Very enjoyable day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cantina Biagiotti, a small, exciting vineyard just a few minutes outside of Lucca. The young owner was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his wine. After a tour of the vineyard we walked through the vats and into the tasting room where we were treated to local meats, cheese, and the incredible wine. The driver was great and told us about the history of the area. Don’t miss this wine tour with Autoservizi DB Tuscany!!!
