Anna was amazing! She provided a lot of historical, political and religious context to allow us to better understand the beauty of Siena.

On a guided walking tour, discover Siena, its famous monuments, and hidden treasures. Enjoy skip-the-line tickets to head in faster and start exploring more quickly. Catch quiet moments in tucked-away squares and cobbled streets as you explore the medieval neighborhoods. Enhance your experience with an extended visit to the Cathedral Complex, Crypt, and Museum.
Meet your expert guide to walk the streets of Siena. Start exploring the medieval history of Siena and then walk the winding path that offers a beautiful of the Duomo and Torre del Mangia from afar. Stop here for a hot second for a lingering first glance of Siena!
Discover how this seashell-shaped square (a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most squares beautiful in Italy) was the result of an enlightened 14th century government. Siena is a city with deeply-rooted traditions, none more notable than its Palio horse race which for centuries has divided the city into neighborhoods known as "contrade." Learn about the contrade, which become like independent towns that challenge each other twice a year during the Palio! Walk through one of the most typical contrada and be immersed in the authenticity of the atmosphere in Siena. The city's past was glorious, particularly during the Middle Ages, and your guide will explain how even the local pastry reflects its prosperity during that era. Ask your guide where to find the best local bakery that still uses centuries-old recipes to make typical Ricciarelli or Panforte.
See the magnificent Fonte Gaia fountain which adorns the higher part of Piazza del Campo. Take a break as to admire the sides of the piazza which are decorated with reliefs representing The Creation of Adam and The Flight from the Garden of Eden.
Admire the striking tower standing tall in the middle of Piazza del Campo. Listen as your guide explains the medieval politics of Siena which explain why its tower was built at the same height as the cathedral.
Our pre-booked tickets make entering the stunning Cathedral a breeze, and our small groups or private tours offer each of our guests a more personalized, intimate experience. Skip the line to enter the cathedral with pre-booked tickets. Inside, you'll see the magnificent marble mosaic inlay floor and astonishing decorations by famous Tuscan artists. Discover the medieval masterpieces by Duccio and Pisano, and the cathedral's renowned stained glass. Inside are several other unmissable Renaissance highlights: Donatello, Michelangelo, and Bernini sculptures, and frescoes by Pinturicchio in the Libreria Piccolomini. Here is where Raphael, then a novice painter, took his first steps towards eternal fame.
Enhance your experience with the extended tour if you want a more profound knowledge of the cathedral’s complex. After a tour inside the Duomo with your knowledgeable guide, continue your adventure at the enchanting Crypt, a true medieval gem. Marvel at the frescoes illustrating biblical episodes that had remained hidden for five hundred years, making the Crypt an authentic time capsule. Admire the vibrant colors, the level of detail, and the beauty of mural paintings. Once outside, you’ll discover the intriguing tale of the unfinished Duomo Nuovo, a visionary project intended to build the largest medieval cathedral in Europe. Visit the Museo dell’Opera and marvel at the original cathedral sculptures by Donatello and Giovanni Pisano, as well as the original stained glass window by Duccio di Buonisegna.

Susanne was excellent! Gave the right amount of information on the history, culture, traditions and of course food in the region. A gentle pace walking around some of the amazing streets in this living museum city. The Duomo certainly stands out Definitely enriched our stay.
This tour was very informative, we learnt a lot about the town history, culture and current lifestyle. Our guide was amazing, she was attentive and didn’t rush through or make us feel rushed.
Our guide gave us a tour we will not soon forget! She was very inspirational and told us on a very pleasant way the history of Siena! The little alley, the story of the neighbourhood, the curch....everything!!! We feel really lucky that we had such a lovely guide! I strongly recommand this guide tour!!
Very knowledgeable tour guide Explained what we saw in detail and followed itinerary explained under tour activity.
Julia is a mediaeval art historian, and a very enthusiastic and passionate local. She was a superb guide able to pass on so much detailed information about Siena, its architecture and history, and we had her all to ourselves for the 3 hour tour. Sending positive vibrations for her contrade for the Palio.
It was awesome and super informative. Me and my wife loved every second of our tour of Siena. My wife lived in Siena and even learned more on our tour upon her return to Siena. Worth the time and the money
Ludovica was an incredible guide with extensive knowledge and a very friendly persona. The small size of our group (only 5) made it very easy to talk, listen, and see the amazing sites of Siena. Highly recommend this for anyone with a short time in Siena wanting to take a deep dive. The history behind the stunningly beautiful duomo is fascinating!
This was very informative and our guide was exceptional. We visited all the major sites and learned about the architecture of the city.
Great guide informing the history of the city and religious significance, would recommend getting the crypt and baptism pass for future guests.
Idania articulated the historic culture of Siena perfectly! We thoroughly enjoyed the description of St. Caterina’s life and relics, as well as, the details of the sculptures, paintings, tiles on the floor and the pulpit in the Duomo of Siena. Idania, is passionate and is proud of Siena, she is sweet and has an awesome personality to connect with the people she brings on the tour. We even had a peek at how the Paleo community comes together and the competition! Thank you Idania! Ciao!
Guilia was an incredible guide. Her knowledge and insight made this trip spectacular. We could not have asked for more on our amazing day in Siena. We can’t wait to return.
Great tour and very knowledgeable tour guide. Only downside was that we didn't have time to do the crypt tour because the guide had another tour booked that day. I wish I could have seen the crypt.
What a beautiful city. Our guide Elio did a great job explaining the city layout. The cathedral was amazing and Elio helped point out and explain all the important artwork.
This was an excellent small group experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. She was also very considerate. There was a couple, and the gentleman walked with a cane. She paced the tour and kept them included. The walk through Sienna was very interesting. The cathedral was beautiful. It was worth the extra time to see the museum and crypt.
Great tour with Guilia! We learned so much about Siena’s Duomo and the Crypt - fascinating! She also educated us on the 17 Contrades and the Palio competition! She made our tour so fun!
I cannot recommend this highly enough!! I ended up having a 3 hour solo walking tour around the heart of Siena. My guide, Giulia was outstanding!! I had such an enjoyable time and I learned a lot too. Giulia is a passionate and highly knowledgeable local who is a pleasure to spend time with. I loved the fact that I could Taylor the tour to what I was most interested in. It was a shame when the tour had to end!! Thank you so much.
Our guide was simply amazing! Ludovica Noviello was knowledgable, friendly, and entertaining! She was the best tour guide we had throughout our two week trip in Italy!
It was a great tour and I learned a lot, but I would have liked headphones to hear better as there is so much information to take in and it is noisy with all the people around
Our guide was fantastic. Not only did we learn about the sites that we were going to see but we also learnt a bit about daily life in Siena, with the 17 different neighborhoods and just the rivalries between the neighborhoods. And she told us all about the horse racing that is done twice a year in July in August.
Excellent guided tour through Siena. Guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history and current day Siena. Well-paced tour with all of the major sites in Siena. Highly recommend
I was hit by a van on my way. I already was in a brace and sling so those who saw were concerned. I did my best to get to the meeting place, but missed them. I contacted Victor to see if they could find out where the group was. I was told they couldn’t disturb him. I walked the way most guides were going with their group, but couldn’t locate mine. I was declared a no show with no refund. The only plus was that at the end of the two hour part, the guide Elio Martino contacted me and said he would meet me and give me my ticket that I could use on my own. He didn’t stop there, but took me into St Catherine’s and gave me an overview of it and then a quick overview of which way I should walk, what to look for, and the main features of the Siena Cathedral or Duomo di Siena. My day was saved.
The museum was amazing. We are so glad we went there before the cathedral. Guide was excellent and it was so nice not to stand in long lines. Highly recommend this tour.
The meeting place and tour guide were easy to spot, unlike some of the other tours we had booked. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable. It was a small group and we were able to ask a lot of questions and had time to take photos along the way. She made sure as we were walking up and down steps and the inclined roads that we were able to keep up doing okay. She pointed the different sites and told stories/legends about them which made it all more interesting and enjoyable.
Giulia was very knowledgeable and made our tour super enjoyable! You can tell she cares about the history of Siena. Our group was very small (4 people) which made navigating the city and lines very manageable. This tour is 1000% worth it!!
Unfortunately, this tour was a little slow paced for me. Some of the stories were interesting (for example about the famous horse races) but quite a bit was dull and the tour guide was just not engaging. We were a small group, which was great, but overall we did not feel this was a great of use of our time in Sienna.
My tour guide was excellent! As it was a solo tour I shared with her my reasons for being in Siena and she customized and personalized the tour according to my interests! She was so personable and knowledgeable, and we made the most of the three hours we had together. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and will certainly remember it!
My boyfriend and I just had the best tour of Siena with Dace! We were the only two on the tour, so it was like a private tour just for us, and she made it an amazing experience. Dace knows so much about Siena, especially the art, which really added a lot to the tour. She’s got such a great personality—super friendly and easy to talk to. It felt like we were hanging out with a friend who just happens to know everything about the city. If you’re thinking about doing a tour in Siena, definitely go with Dace. You won’t regret it!
A fantastic tour with a very knowledgeable and interesting guide who went over and above to make sure we had the best time. Such a beautiful city
Ludovica was absolutely incredible!!! so informative. Patiece and loves Siena . Gave good recommendations.
Our guide Monica was very knowledgeable but more informative than entertaining. The main focus of the tour is the Cathedral and would have liked to have found out more of the secular history of the city. Also I was disappointed we didn't go into the baptistry. If you are into the Cathedral and it's art then this is the tour for you, Monica was able to explain a lot of the detail we would have missed. For a broader city tour maybe look elsewhere

My guide was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable, she answered my questions, joked around a bit. I would happily go on another tour with her!
Laura was fantastic! She was super enthusiastic about the tour and modified it upon request to allow me to see an artwork I was really interested in. Very knowledgeable!! Very persanable! Loved it!
Really good and thorough tour of Siena with a very knowledgeable tour guide. Anna was super nice and made sure we left with a great impression of the city.
Just us & another couple on the tour, really informative & was well over 3 hours. Would recommend. Tour guide was very knowledgeable
Monica was an excellent guide with a vast knowledge of Siena. If you visit Siena and really want to learn the unique culture, book this tour. Such a beautiful city!
Unfortunately, I relied on Google maps to help me find the starting point and it sent me around in circles. I managed to find your tours in Florence and Bologna without any problems , but Siena beat me.I tried waiting at various main attractions to catch the tour but I couldn’t identify your guide. I also tied to make contact but no response.
The walking tour was outstanding! Our guide Ludy was amazing, she knew the history and culture of Siena. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I highly recommend this tour.
Guide had difficulty with English, was very slow, and spoke a lot about things not related to the sites. Spent an hour and a half at the San Domenico church and the house of Saint Catherine, so we only had 10 min at the Basilica by the time we reached it. Also she kept referencing her phone in between exhibits, and sometimes would send us into the area to see something and then provide the history AFTER we had viewed it. The tour was not what we had expected.
We have a very good tour guide and a small group. Would highly recommend when visiting Siena. Got allot of inside information of the city's past and current.
I really liked the tour and would have given it more stars but it was a bit hard to understand everything that was being told to us. Our guide was lovely but we missed much in translation! The cathedral is really beautiful and worth seeing!
We had an excellent experience in our Siena tour. Our guide Ellios was very professional and shared his wide knowledge and experience.
Very knowledgeable guide who took extra time to ensure we had the full experience within 3 hours. The additional tour of the underground frescoes and climb to the unfinished facade was a treat!
Anna was so knowledgeable and passionate about Siena, Saint Caterina, The Duomo, and the art surrounding Siena. The optional Crypt and Museum is a must! Memories have been made! GRAZIE ANNA!!
I was the only one on the tour and found it very useful and informative. My guide was very friendly and she spoke to me about the history of siena and the different contrade in the town, and also about the horse race they have every year and role this plays in the cities culture. I learnt loads on this tour and would suggest it to anyone looking to learn more about the town and get a feel for the place
Good tour in the cathedral and church We felt it was mainly religious focus with some history only , rather than the opposite, not much was given about the rich history of Siena and the renaissance period .
The Basilica Santa Maria Assunta, the story of the rivalry of the Duomo in Florence. The Sant' Antonio in San Domenico was especially wonderful to learn of the life and death of Saint Catarina.
Wonderful walking tour of Siena highlights. Ludovica our guide was not only knowledgeable but passionate about the history, traditions and art of Siena. Would highly recommend!!
Dace was the best guide — so passionate and enthusiastic about Siena and its history. We loved our tour!
