We originally were booked for the previous day and we were asked to switch due to an illness. Not sure if our guide normally does this tour or if she was just filling in. The first stop for wine and bread with olive oil was not what we would expect in Italy. Wine was served in paper cups. We walked all over the city but there were no “stories” to go with the sites. The sweets were nice but by this time we were getting very tired. The gelato was also good but ended up across from the wine shop where we started. The other couple left the tour before the gelato. They were also frustrated. The guide Anne Marie spoke very poor English, did not seem to know where she was going, doubled back several times and spent most of her time on her phone texting. She seemed very unsure of what she was doing. She could not get two simple gelato orders correct and I ended up ordering for both my husband and I. Maybe another guide would be better but this was a total waste of time of money and time for us. First bad experience with a tour.
This was an enjoyable small group tour through Siena stopping of to taste local cuisine Our friendly guide Agnese was knowledgeable and very informative about the local food and wine as well as the history of the city
The tour was great with good tasting of some local specialties. We enjoyed the nice conversation with Agnese, the tour guide. She gave us much information on the contrade, the horse palio race, the wine, some history and tradition. The group was small (only another couple was with us), so it was good to have plenty of time to ask our own questions. We really enjoyed our tour.
Our guide Sandra was so knowledgeable. Grew up in Siena! Shared all of the local places and traditions. Personalized. Went at our pace. Wonderful variety of local foods and wine. Learned so much from her.
Very informative and not too strenuous
Sandra gave us a fascinating tour of Siena and even though we were the only ones on the tour, she went above and beyond. She showed us parts of the city tourists wouldn’t normally see and plenty of tips as to how to enjoy the rest of our visit (both in Siena and when we move on). She clearly has a love of her city and conveyed her enthusiasm as well as extremely interesting insights into the history culture and cuisine of the region. We highly recommend this tour
Sandra was informative and kind. It was nice to hear her stories about everything she taught us. We got to know the city of Siena very much more than we could have on our own.
Passionate guide who showed us the highlights of Siena and the local treats. It ended up being a private tour with just me and my friend making it that much better.
Compared to other excursions similarly priced …. This promised more and delivered less We basically walked from one shop to the others x3 to taste a local treat Would recommend an authentic bottle of tuscan wine …. Like a chianti Classico And an alternative to those with allergies would be welcome Historical facts were sadly lacking except for the details about the horse races The bonus was the Saturday event in the piazza with the kids of siena doing a flag dance/ parade … in reference to the palio di siena The guide was knowledgeable but was not a local or even Italian.
We were spoilt as our tour ended up with just the 2 of us so a private tour of Sienna which was exceptional, fantastic experience and knowledge from our guide we loved it all 👍🍷
Loved our tour with Sandra. So knowledgeable and spoke with such enthusiasm and love for her city of Seina. And all of the tastes along the way were just perfect!
Gracia was lovely and the tour was a really interesting introduction to the Contrade of Siena and the delicious food and wine.
Very nice and knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed seeing different areas of the city, and the food was very good. All in all a very nice experience.
We loved our tour with Sandra! As a local herself she was able to give us so much information about Siena. We learned about the Contradas and the annual horse race. We highly recommend. We tried two different wines paired with food. Sandra is extremely knowledgeable about wine from the region. We then had gelato and other desserts native to Siena.
Sandra did a great job sharing Siena’s history and traditions with us. She was very knowledgeable about the food and wine tastings. Gelato, wine, olive oil, bread, and baked goods among foods tasted. A great introduction to Siena!
This walking tour is amazing. We easily met up with Jacopo and one other couple. They were Italian and Jacopo gave the entire tour switching between Italian and English! Amazing. The stops were perfect and he showed us areas of Siena that we would have never found. Loved every minute.
We have just had the most amazing experience with Sandra showing and educating us around Siena. Great food and wine, local regions and their enthusiasm for the horse racing.
Knowledgeable and informative. Our entire family enjoyed this walking tour on the tastes of Siena hosted by Sandra. Highly recommended!
We had a great tour with Sandra! She was very knowledgeable about Siena history, food, and wine. We really enjoyed all of the food we tried, some of it we wouldn't have known about without this tour. Overall this was such a lovely experience and I would highly recommend it!
Cozy walk with local guide who had fun stories and three special locations with snacks / drinks. Definitely worth it.
The tour is exceptional! The fantastic and passionate guide Sandra of her city. He told us many stories and legends about the city, the Palio, the districts, and then the fountains, churches, alleys and typical places of Siena. The tour also included a tasting of 2 wines, with cold cuts, a dessert tasting and to finish the pancakes in Piazza del Campo. To do, I highly recommend it!
Really nice tour, we toured the districts of Siena, discovering some really beautiful places, we tasted 2 wines and tasted a bruschetta and a sandwich with finocchiona, then we tried some typical desserts and rice pancakes. The really great driving!!! A tour made with passion, super recommended.
Participating in this guided tour in Siena was an extraordinary experience, made even more special by our guide, Sandra Panunti. With his overwhelming passion and deep knowledge of the city, he accompanied us on a fascinating journey through hidden alleys, ancient stories and Sienese traditions. Sandra, told us anecdotes and secrets of the Palio with an engaging enthusiasm, making us feel part of the authentic life of Siena. His love for the city is evident in every word and every detail he shares, making the tour a unique and unrepeatable experience. To make everything even more special were the tastings of Sienese excellence: fine wines, cold cuts and bread with an intense flavor and typical desserts, all accompanied by curious and never trivial explanations. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover the real heart of Siena, with an extraordinary guide like Sandra, able to make the city live with new and passionate eyes. An experience that remains in the heart!
