We had an easy day to recover from exploring all Italy has to offer, and this was the perfect way to continue learning about Tuscany from the comfort of our villa. Simone arrived promptly, with a smile, and the juice for a great night. The table setting was wonderful, and at the location of our choosing on the property. Simone clearly has a great love for Tuscany and its wines; anyone is lucky to learn from him about the history and characteristics of the wines available from this region. The wines provided were delicious and well curated by Simone, and we would never have tried these wines while in Italy (or anywhere else!) without his help. Cheeses, breads and incredible olive oil were included with the tasting. Wines were so good that we ended up buying a few bottles to enjoy on the remainder of our stay! Will definitely be ordering more to ship home to the US! Thank you, Simone, for a wonderful evening! We hope to see you again soon!

Itinerary
I am Simone Vergamini, "Best Sommelier of Tuscany 2023, 3rd place at the Best Sommelier of Italy 2018, 2021 and 2022. We can organize the tasting directly at your home or at the hotel where you are on holiday in the city, or in the surrounding hills (within a radius of 15 km from the city center, for longer distances may be charged a supplement) The experience always includes an introduction to wine tasting, the history of the territory and wineries. We will then move on to the tasting of 5 wines accompanied by bread, cheese and oil from local production. These are wines selected from small producers, mainly organic certified, in love with their work and the territory. We can organize the tasting directly at your home or at the hotel where you are on holiday, even in the center of Lucca. I'll take care of everything and you won't have to think about anything! I will set the table with tasting tablecloths and serve you wines in professional glasses! At the end of the tasting I will leave the bottles uncorked (if not finished :) so you can enjoy them during the holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting with Simone. A talented and knowledgeable sommelier, he gave an instructive and really helpful overview of the local wine region with tastings of 5 different wines that clearly illustrated the characteristics of each wine. His presentation was engaging and he welcomed all of our questions. I would highly recommend a tasting session with Simone.

The wine tasting with Angelo and Simone was a highlight of our trip! They were both so kind and fun, in addition to knowledgeable and skilled. We drank the most delicious wines and learned so much about the different tastes throughout the Tuscany region. The bread, oil, and cheese pairings were delicious. We are a group of Americans who rented a villa near Lucca. Simone came to our villa one evening and presented a wine tasting “The wines of the province of Lucca”. He came early to set everything up, bringing glassware for each of our 5 generous tastings. He began with some information about olive oil and offers cheese, bread and olive oil as snacks to enjoy during the tasting. Simone is most knowledgeable about these local wines and enjoys sharing in his excellent English. We began with a sparkling, moved to a white wine, next a rose, followed by 2 reds. All quite good. At the conclusion of our tasting Simone offered bottles for sale which we found to be at a very reasonable cost. We loved the ease of wine tasting at “home” without having to drive a distance to a winery. Highly recommend. Excellent communication, easy going yet professional presentation. Great value. We had a brilliant private wine tasting with Simone at our Villa, just outside Lucca. Simone brought 5 wines which were all excellent and ones none of us had tried before and we ended up buying a few of each. Simone was extremely knowledgeable and the tasting was really interesting and great fun. I would really recommend a tasting with Simone if you want to try some different local wines.

I come at least 2 times a year to Lucca since my family owns a house in the city and on the occasion of my girlfriend's birthday I booked this beautiful tasting. Simone set the table with professional tablecloths and glasses, told us the history of the area and served us 5 excellent local wines that I did not know, as well as an excellent EVO oil and cheese. Everything perfect
