Our guide was excellent. She was knowledgeable and professional but also funny and personable. We had arrived in Lucca the evening before the tour and the walk provided us a great introduction to the city and its history. Would highly recommend this private tour.
Had a lovely 2 hour private walking tour around the walled city of Lucca. Our guide was great and her knowledge and love of Lucca very evident. We got caught out as did not realise we needed photo ID to verify who we were. Luckily I had a photo of my passport on my phone which I was able to use! Saw some tours as we walked around and commented that we were pleased with the number of people in them we had done a private tour
Antonella was our tour guide in Lucca. She was amazing, so knowledgeable, friendly and very passionate about history and Lucca and the surrounding area. We learned so much from her and had such a good time. We walked all over looking at the architecture, walking on the ramparts, and learning about not only the history of the town but also the town in relation to other cities such as Pisa, Siena and Florence and the animosity between these cities which affected the architecture of Lucca. Lucca is a historic city but also a vibrant city and so much fun to see. Antonella was great - I highly recommend her if you are in Lucca!
Our local guide Sara was excellent. She really gave us a taste of what local life is by showing us different foods and gathering places. She told us all about the history of Lucca which we found interesting. My only issue with this tour was that Viator advertised it as 2.5 hours and we were only given approximately 2 hours( a bit shy of it). This is not the fault of the tour guide as we basically went down every street in Lucca. It is very small. Overall, it was a great experience,
Lucca's walls remain in place after centuries and surround the entire city. They are some 20 feet high from the inside, reached by several reasonably sloped on-ramps. On the outside the town is surrounded mostly by meadows some 40-60 feet below your path. It's a great way to get the feel of the city which, retaining its medieval character, is a maze of streets winding through 3- and 4-story buildings and makes it difficult to absorb more than the block you are standing in. You can of course shorten your walk by cutting directly across the city at some point instead of making the entire circuit.
Our tour guide Nadia was so knowledgeable! She knew so much history. She was very passionate about the city and its history. We learn so much and saw things that were so much more amazing because of her explanations.
This was a perfect tour. There were only two couples plus our guide. She paid great attention to us as we walked around this beautiful city.
We hired bicyles and cycled round the walls (4km) but also lovely to walk round entire old city along these walls -takes about an hour)
Excellent guide. She was knowledgeable and personable. It’s a great way to get your bearings in Lucca. Highly recommend.
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very pleasant. Keep things moving in a nice way. Gave great insight about Lucca and it’s history. Both architectural and food and wine.
A great way to travel thru the streets of Lucca. Our guide Antoinelle was wonderful with so many stories about Lucca through the centuries, its history and its people. Took the train from Florence and we’ll worth the effort.
This is probably my favorite things that I did in Tuscany! It was so fun getting to stop and buy different local food from the area, as opposed to other tours that just go over the history.
We were the only people on this walking tour. Our guide Chiara was prompt and kept us moving at a comfortable pace, allowing for stops to take photos or answer our questions. She was very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Lucca. Great way to start your visit to Lucca.
Nadia was extremely knowledgeable and informative. It's easy to tell how much she loves Lucca. We highly recommend her.
This tour is a great way to see the town and get a good overview. If you are just arriving Luca,, this is a great way to get orientated. Our tour guide was articulate, informative, and funny. It was a very enjoyable time.
to avoid the stress that we had, do it like this: tripadvisor says to come at 01:30 to the tourist information at Piazza Ricasoli, but beware that there is a sign that points to a small old closed building saying 'tourist information', but don't wait there, it is the wrong one! go to the one that is on the right side when you face the railway station (Stazione). There you only get the tickets (and you have to get them even though you have the booking confirmation...) and afterwards you have to go to Piazza Verdi to another tourist information (in a historical building) where the tour starts at 02:00 p. m. The tour itself was really good and the local guide showed us historical as well as culinaric highlights and gave us good tips for not classic restaurants with moderate prices.
Beautiful and wonderful place, don't miss visiting. City with medieval look and preserved history. Ruas aconchegantes .
Lucca is a beautiful town to walk around to enjoy the view and the wealth of artistic assets it possesses. Beautiful house museum Puccini. To eat you can find bars in the historic center, where you can taste traditional dishes
Strongly disappointed in Pisa we tried not to leave and we were advised Lucca (or Lucca) its fortified and simply beautiful pedestrian area. Monuments, or just the streets are amazing and atypical, even some shops are tt as amazing (c the only time I could eat an ice cream in a shop while swinging!!😆), the central square is very nice, in short... to do without hesitation.
I really liked the culture and history of this city and as Mrs. Anna told us everything thanks to her is a very professional and very kind guide
