Her deep knowledge of the city's architecture, history, the Contrade, and the Palio brought the streets to life in a way we never could have experienced on our own. The tour was great. Silvia was helpful, showed us around, answered all of our questions and was, in general, an awesome tour guide. I’m not a fan of Viator but feel very lucky that Silvia was our guide.

We were fortunate to be visiting on the feast day of one of the Contradas of Siena, so we got to see the parade of its members. The tour guide, Silvia, was excellent! She was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. She was also very kind because we were running late. Also, we were able to communicate with her via phone to let her know we were running late. That was very nice of her to share her phone number. It was very helpful.

Not only was she extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city but offered so much extra information about the entire region! With a twist of irony Silvia made us feel like we missed out on part of Siena, but let me explain. Her tour was so historically thorough, so full of valuable stories and so inclusive of all things Siena that we wish we had arranged more than a day trip. Do take Silvia's walking tour, but do also book a hotel to spend at least one night and another day to follow up on all of Silvia's advice about additional things to do and see. Should we return to Siena we will definitely do just that, and book Silvia for a follow up tour. Great value for your money!

My multi-generational family (10 of us) took a wonderful tour with Silvia in August. She did a phenomenal job walking us around the city learning about various elements along the way. We learned about the rival districts and how the cityscape shows the territory boarders. We learned about food, architecture, and the Palio. An incredible tour. Silvia also helped book go-carting at a local track, getting us off the tourist track!

Silvia was prompt, patient and an amazing tour guide. Her knowledge of the area (she is from Siena, after all!) is second to none and she provided an amazing insight for me into the contrade of Siena, cultural uniqueness of Siena, amazing shops & restaurants to visit and general tourist recommendations. Our tour was very well done, informative and well-paced. We saw important attractions and learned things that aren't necessarily in the books. Our guide was passionate and knowledgeable.

We stopped in Siena for a few hours and Silvia gave us an excellent tour. I worked with her on arranging a customized tour for our family of seven to do some food and wine tasking and walk around the city. We had a delicious lunch in a wine bar with a presentation from the proprietor and interesting discussion and sampling of the local food and wine. Then we walked more in the city, saw some of the major sites, and learned about the history of the area. I would recommend Silvia as a great option to spend some time in the area.

Silvia was fantastic- she met up with my large (rather unruly) family of 15 and walked us through the sights and secrets of Siena. She set a great pace, had the most interesting facts/stories, and answered every question. She also spoke loudly and clearly (several members in my group have hearing trouble) so everyone could hear. I would highly recommend her as you guide!

I had asked Sylvia to tour us in areas not always seen by every busload of tourists. We had a wonderful enjoyable and enlightening day with her, and she provided for four of us (3 generations) with tremendous insight into the history, art, and everyday culture of Sienna. There is no doubt that she is well educated and uses her education extremely well in touring visitors to Siena. Tally and I thoroughly were thrilled with her descriptions which made art and her city come alive. My family and I recently did a three hour private walking tour of Siena with Silvia. It was a highlight of our trip! Silvia was responsive and flexible with scheduling. She was able to answer all of our questions thoroughly and her art history background was helpful as we toured the Cathedral. We loved stopping for an espresso en route. We screwed up & traveled to Sienna a day early. One of Silvia’s colleagues called Silvia, & she arrived in 20 minutes to save our visit. She accommodated us though she’d had other plans. She is pleasant, really knows her stuff, and made great recommendations for dining, etc. She was so professional in every way!

Silvia was prompt and happy to adapt the tour so the 9 of us could see more of the city rather than see the inside of the cathedral. The tour was a great insight into the history of the city and the famous palio. Silvia's English was excellent and she gave her personal take on life in a city with so much rich tradition. Beautiful walking tour to the historic center.... being the visit on Sunday it was not possible to visit the inside of the Cathedral. The option, however, was pleasant and very interesting.... we dived into the world of the Palio visiting chapel and premises of the Selva district.... I discovered details and curiosities until now unknown to me. It 'was like being a real Sienese and living the emotions of the race.... our guide Simona was absolutely competent and exceeded every possible expectation.... barcamenando very well between people of various nationalities and switching continuously from 'English to Italian.... highly recommend it.

We were 3 couples of friends. Personally I already knew Siena well, coming to Tuscany every year. So I was looking for an unusual circuit. After some e-mail exchanges with Silvia, we were able to develop a nice program. The weather wasn't there, but we appreciated the comments and perfect French from Silvia. In particular, we recommend visiting a contrada museum. At least as interesting as the Palio race itself! I highly recommend Silvia.
