Essential to book a ticket in advance of visiting. The timed ticketing was well organised but I was unable to download the audio guide despite several attempts.

Incredible view at sunset! Stairs were tricky so wear practical shoes. We were on a short stop with a tour bus so didn’t have time to tour the cathedral.
The ViaTour voucher was not accepted at the ticket office, so we had a bit of confusion. The tower is awesome!
No bags allowed inside the tower. Make sure to check where the lockers are. Need entry ticket to unlock locker. Tight spaces to climb but nice views on top.
I booked this experience the day before I attended. The booking was very easy and the ticket delivery via email/google drive was simple. I had a great time seeing the attractions that I had only ever seen in photos and history books. The tower was surreal and the cathedral was beautiful. Make sure to leave any bags in the cloakroom opposite the tower, and get to the queue 15 minutes prior to your time slot. Collect your bags straight after leaving the tower - they are allowed in the cathedral.
We got to the meeting place 15 minutes prior. Couldn’t find the guide and missed the tour. I felt horrible for my mom who was really looking forward to this tour. We had been traveling in Italy for two weeks and took many tours, all very well organized with no issues. This was a big disappointment and waste of money :(
It was difficult and time consuming to get the application downloaded for the audio tour. Lots of going back and forth with the authentication and then with the download. Have to do this all ahead of time with good wifi connection.
Simple to book and met our expectations. Might be difficult to download to audioguide if you’re a solo traveller as you needed to scan a QR code but wasn’t an issue for us. Really enjoyed our visit to Pisa and glad we booked this your.
We had a window of time to see the Pisa Tower. This tour gave me the climb tower tickets I wanted. I selected 11:30 and the tickets said 12:15. Thankfully I was still able to make that work but it was stressful. Also you still have to pick up the free tickets for the cathedral and again the time available was much later than we expected. All in all I was happy to know I was definitely going to get to climb the tower on this trip.
Tickets worked perfectly for entering, audio guide has technical details about the buildings and their construction.
We booked a timed entrance to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Cathedral. We arrived on time for our 3:30pm slot and initially joined the queue, only to be told that no bags were allowed. Fair enough, but we were then sent out of the queue to find somewhere to leave them. We were abruptly told “second door”but with no explanation of which direction or where exactly that was. We eventually figured it out and thankfully the bag storage is free, which was a bonus. We then had to scan our tickets at the bag drop and return to the tower, where we had to join a much bigger queue. By the time we got through, it was around 3:45pm and we were told rather bluntly that we were late. We were actually there on time for our allocated slot, but the delay was caused by having to find the bag storage, something we hadn’t been made aware of beforehand. Putting the rather unfriendly welcome to one side, the climb itself was really good. The steps are uneven, which is understandable given the age of the tower and the amount of foot traffic it receives. We stopped about halfway to catch our breath before continuing to the top. Once there, the views across Pisa were lovely and definitely worth the climb. Coming back down was a different story for me, it was much harder than going up! A small guide rail would, in my opinion, be a really useful addition. I found myself having to hold onto both sides of the tower wall when there were no people coming in the opposite direction. That said, we made it up and down without any drama! We then visited the Cathedral, which was absolutely beautiful. The paintings and artwork inside were spectacular, and we really enjoyed taking our time to look around. Overall, despite the confusion with the bags and the rather abrupt staff interaction, we enjoyed the experience. The Tower is definitely worth climbing if you’re visiting Pisa, and the Cathedral is a real highlight too.
You still have to wait on the time even though you a lot of steps, take your time. have a timed ticket and you have to lock all your belongings up before hand so get there at least 15 min before and if you’re doing the self guided tour make sure you figure out how to download the audio before hand, no help there. So we had to audio
The tickets purchased only gained us access to 2 out of the 4 areas to see in the Pisa complex, the Cathedral and the Tower itself. They didn’t gain access to the Cemetery or the Baptistery.
This was set up and on time! First, all bags must be checked now, so go there first. Then straight to the front of the line and in! What a beautiful experience! Had a small glitch with audio, but tour company fixed right away! Really must do!
The official site was sold out of tickets when we hoped to visit. Buying these tickets allowed us to still climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa at the day and time that worked best for our schedule. The tickets were emailed to us very quickly after purchase. We did not download the included virtual tour so can’t comment on that. Although paying more than the official site I was very happy to have the option to pay above cost to go the day and time that worked best for our schedule. As others have mentioned check your tickets upon receipt - our ticket was 15 minutes before the requested time and the Leaning Tower is not very flexible with late arrival.
Great book with booking.com in the evening to next day in the morning 👍
This was a great tour, included so many things to see in the church. Arrive 10 minutes early, you must store your bags, any size, then go to the front of the line at your time and it is very smooth
Excellent experience! We were on a cruise excursion that did not include entrance to the tower. Because we got the tickets ahead of time, we were able to climb the tower and had plenty of time to get back down and rejoin our tour. This is a great add-on to any cruise excursion.!
The reservation for the leaning tower of Pisa was requested and initially confirmed as 3.30 pm. This information was communicated and confirmed with Sun Princess Cruise Line Tour Guide so the timing of arrival and departure of the coach to and from the ship and Leaning tower was feasible. However, when I received a text for the voucher on July 24, 2026, it had been changed to 3.45 pm. I explained the error on the ticket and literally pleaded with the entrance staff at the Tower that this was incorrect and I needed to be admitted at 3..30 pm and not at 3.45 pm because of the tour arrangements (as previously detailed). I was refused entry to the Tower and wasted the cost of the ticket combined with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enter the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Timed trip was 85 mins later than booked. Audio file would not download and Viator App kept redirecting me to YoTours. Better to get tickets on site at The Leaning Tower of Pisa - in my opinion.
Expensive. Audio connection didn't happen. Lots of downloading apps/creating accounts/scanning QR codes & still no audio. Booked for 12pm, on tickets it was 1245, were delayed getting into tower as a result.
There are no bags or purses allowed in the Tower of Pisa, even small purses are not allowed. We found out the hard way. Several women with the smallest of purses were turned away as well. Other than that the experience of being on the top was satisfying. Climbing 257 marble stairs wasn’t hard but in 98° weather you can feel it. It was cool being up there at 12:00 noon when the bells chime. One and done experience but thrilled to have seen and climbed it.
Lovely to see, but do not book the tower if you have any type of disability not just severe ones. Anything muscular or asthmatic be very careful especially in summer, they adviced us when we got there not to attempt it. Beautiful place though.
It was great. Very easy! Loved climbing the tower. Highly recommend. However our requested time was not honored. Our ticket was an hour 15 min after requested. But it all worked out.
Summer months are extremely hot. I’m from Florida and thought that I was used to the heat boy was I wrong. I felt like I was getting heat exhaustion. Drink plenty of water and have electrolytes packages at hand. The view from the tower is breathtaking but the stairs are slippery bc they are made of marble. The heat is bad because there is no place to cool off. The stores offer to eat in doors and it makes the heat even worst. Bring hats and an umbrella. I received the time ticket the day before unfortunately I was not able to download the audio the app didn’t work.
Fantastic experience stairs are very slippery but we removed our shoes much easier Bag drop and toilets easy with tickets
Go to the locker check in first, no bags allowed .. like even small purses. Unless you're the... man... in front of me in line and got away with a fanny pack... so unfair. Wear shoes that have a good grip!! Also, in one of the nearby bathrooms, they only let people with credit cards use the toilet... the guard would not let me in with cash...so absolutely WRONG!! This discriminates against people who don't have credit cards, the credit cards make money on us doing a natural function and the taxes then follow, to be taxed in order to pee, not on my watch! This is insane. Plan ahead, you can get in so much cheaper buying the regular ticket, I went to Pisa on a whim and was pleased to know I could purchase this ticket, thanks! Please consider an option for a bathroom voucher included. Yes, I know if I go to the museum section it's free... it's more the principle of the credit card thing.
Definitely worth going up the tower. Very interesting stairs and great views from the top. However, despite the internet making it sound like tickets are hard to obtain there are 60 tickets every 15 minutes. The cost is €20 to buy from the ticket OFFICE. Not worth paying the 60% markup to buy on here.
This was a great experience. Although it was a hot day in mid June and the Leaning Tower of Pisa doesn’t have AC it was actually comfortable inside and the steps weren’t too bad. There are small stopping points along if needed. I’d highly recommend going to the top because the views of Pisa are breathtaking. Note if you bring a bag of any size purses included arrive a little early so you can put it in a locker. The lockers are not inside the tower they are across the green grassy area.
This was a great experience. We were happy to go early before the extreme heat. No bags are allowed but they had free lockers to use while in the tower. What I realized after the fact was that there were plugs for charging in the lockers!! You may only use them during your entrance in the tower. It was a slow walk up the stairs, but not too crowded. The timed tickets really help. Beautiful views from the top!
Great experience and not too crowded! No. bumbags or purses allowed so go first to the cloak room area before queuing up for the leaning tower.
Another Viator rip off. We bought the 3 tickets for our 3 teen grandkids to be able to climb the tower. They are all under 18 and they were refused entry because they require an adult over 18 to accompany anyone under 18. There is nothing on the Viator site about this. One of my GK's stayed behind as I took the two older ones in and sat on the bench on the first floor while they climbed the tower.
Had a great experience with this tour. The only thing I would suggest is to provide a heads up as to what not to bring, note where items can be stored, and emphasize entry is very strict and you won't be let in until your time. While waiting (a second time) for our time slot, we saw another lady denied entry due to missing her time slot. She had gone to put away her bags in provided lockers and missed her time slot.
Great fun, hot sweaty work to get to top of Leaning Tower. Only gave 4 stars because I did not realize it was not clear that an audioguide was included. Definitely recommend
Climbing Pisa tower was a good decision for us. It is not too bad except for a few steps. It is well worth an experience.
Bad had to wait more than an hour after intervening. Very unconfortable to get your ticket and than still a lot of hassle. Typical Indian way.
Audio guided tour link and QR code did not work. We ended up having to buy tickets again and the provider refused to give us a refund. Overpriced when the audio guided tours are much cheaper in person and the misleading since the cathedral is actually free.
Book with this company at your own risk. As the description says the ticket time can vary from the time you select. So if you are on a tight schedule, do not recommend this company. All they are doing is picking a ticket from the official site which is near the time you pick, then they mark up the ticket. It is better to buy direct from the official site, the. You will know exactly your time of entry, and it's almost half the price when you buy the official ticket. This company is out of India and simply a third part which you pay 14 euro per ticket for them to do the same thing you can on your own.
The tickets itself were fine, but we booked at 11 am, only to find out once we got there that our tickets had a different time slot then when we booked. Not super convenient for a full itinerary….
Seeing the leaning tower and cathedral was awesome! The bad parts : workers are very rude, they give no information and the timed entry isn't go right in. You still have to wait in line
I selected this experience for the 1pm time slot for me and 3 fellow travellers and received the voucher. Viator took my payment via Paypal. I then received a message from Viator to say that they were unable to offer me this time slot and could I accept 2.30-3pm? I was on a group tour and our meeting time for the coach was 2.30 which would've meant we'd have to return by train and miss the coach. I told Viator I'd call them back after checking with my colleagues. We decided not to proceed with the time slot offered so I called them back to tell them this. They had sent me a ticket which read 15.00 and I did check with the Pisa team to see if we could use it earlier or change the time but they said it wasn't possible and I needed to contact the provider (Viator) Viator told me on the phone that I would be able to use the ticket and I repeated this with them on the phone as they were difficult to understand. The call came from India and I was also concerned how much it was costing me to call them back. They told me I could use the ticket at 1pm not a problem I asked them distinctly to repeat this as I didn't believe it was possible which as it turned out it wasn't. We finished up having to buy another ticket each on site for 1.30 which was still ok and enough time to catch our return coach. Viator insisted after several messages that I had agreed to the time slot and refused to refund me the money. They are still insisting that I agreed to a different time slot and refuse to return the money. I am taking this up now with Paypal buyer protection.
The entry time at Pisa is very strict so if one misses the time even by 5mins then you cannot go in so reach early specially since they do not let you carry even small bags and hence it takes time to deposit bags etc
I had booked for 10:30 but received WhatsApp messages from two different numbers the day before asking me to change the booking time. I was told 9:30 then 10:00 then 9:30. When I confirmed 9:30 I was told 10:00. Inconvenient and unnecessary stress. Also the audio guide requires you to have download the audio on separate devices and use headphones. This needs to be made clear on booking.
We booked 4:30 pm tickets to climb the tower. When we went to use the tickets we were told they were for 5:15 pm. Fortunately, this was our last activity of the day so I didn’t mess us up too bad. Just would have been nice to have this information earlier. Good thing was the tickets were emailed so no need to meet up with anyone.
Downloading ticket was fine, no issues, as long as you have data or wifi but the audio itself was not great .. boring and not engaging…. nothing regarding the cathedral
Very good Worth visiting and worth climbing the tower. We bought extra tickets to climb the Baptistery
Stressful beginning. Site did not send tickets. We went to the counter and they said this is a voucher not tickets. I called and after several minutes I received an apology and the tickets. We had to run to make it on time. Audio did not work but enjoyed the climb to the top. I would not recommend.
Our family had limited time at Pisa and got tickets through Viator as the official website does not have any tickets for the day. We really enjoyed the tower and cathedral. A few tips. 1. Download the ticket in PDF form and audio guide the night before through WiFi. My entrance time on ticket (3:45pm) was 15 minutes before the actual time I booked (4pm) So check your ticket and get there on time. 2. If you have any bags even a tiny purse, check them in the Cloakroom prior to getting on line. You need your ticket to get a free locker there. Both Cloakroom and bathroom/WC locations are listed on the ticket. Also need your ticket to get in WC for free, or you will have to pay. 3. Wear comfortable shoes as there are 251 steps. 4. Audio guide gives you history of the tower and will enhance your experience if you are interested in that. 5. If you happen to get there around sunset, you will watch the beautiful golden glow in all the structures.
This isn't an audio guide of the Cathedral as stated (Timed Entrance to Leaning Tower & Cathedral with Audioguide). Information from Viator only came through at 16:30pm on the day before our visit. We were travelling on a cruise & didn't have access to a mobile network whilst at sea. You have to download an app for YoTours to start, then figure out how to get the downloads of tickets & Audioguide. You're now informed that you need your smartphone with headsets x 2, if 2 people listening. Impossible with a smartphone. You would need to share a pair of earbuds. I wouldn't bother with the Audioguide. Just get the entrance tickets to the Leaning Tower.
I couldn’t use it my train got delayed. There should be a option to reschedule if for some valid reason person get delayed.
