Itinerary
The Mura di Pisa are the ancient city walls of Pisa, built in the 12th century to protect the city. Stretching for about 7 kilometers, they offer a unique elevated walkway with panoramic views of Pisa's historic landmarks, including the iconic Leaning Tower.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a world-famous architectural marvel, known for its unintended tilt. Completed in the 14th century, this freestanding bell tower is part of the Pisa Cathedral. Standing 56 meters tall, its iconic lean is due to unstable foundation soil.
The Cathedral of Pisa, also known as the Duomo di Pisa, is a stunning example of Romanesque architecture. Built in the 11th century, it features an intricate marble façade, grand arches, and bronze doors. Located in the Piazza dei Miracoli, it forms part of Pisa’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the Leaning Tower and Baptistery.
The Baptistery of Saint John in Pisa is the largest baptistery in Italy, renowned for its elegant Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Completed in the 14th century, it stands in the Piazza dei Miracoli near the Cathedral and Leaning Tower. Its unique dome creates remarkable acoustics, and the interior features a beautiful marble font and a pulpit by Nicola Pisano.
The Camposanto Monumentale, or Monumental Cemetery, in Pisa is a serene and historic burial ground located in the Piazza dei Miracoli. Built in the 13th century, it features a Gothic cloister filled with ornate tombs and ancient Roman sarcophagi. Its walls were once adorned with renowned frescoes, some of which are still visible today.
There are a few more stops along the way, but we’ll keep those as a surprise to make your experience even more special.

One of the best tours I've ever had. I've travelled the world and had many different tours and this was one of my favourites. The guide was engaging and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend. You could tell she was local to the area and had lived there for a while too, which really makes a difference. Fascinating site with so much history attached to it.
Absolutely fantastic tour at Pisa. Tour guide was so knowledgeable. I have done tours all around the world and this was genuinely one of my favourite tours and tour guides. Highly recommend.
Our guide Alice was good, but worked out of a folder for most of the tour, compared to similar tours we've been on, this was expensive for what it was. It definitely doesn't need 1.5 hours to walk around the square and learn the history. Was nice to learn historical pointers but could've easily been done within an hour.
This was an excellent tour of the square in Pisa. Our guide, Alice, was so enthusiastic about her city and gave us a lot of interesting information. She also recommended local dishes to try. The tour lasted 2 hours and the time went very quickly.
For us this tour was perfect for the amount of time we wanted to spend in the Piazza dei Miracoli. Our guide Fanny talked about all the buildings in the piazza and also included general info about Pisa and its history.
After this beautiful trip through Italy, Pisa is one of my favorite cities, not only for its leaning tower, but also for its history and cuisine. This tour is the perfect activity to truly get to know Pisa.
A lovely tour to learn about the city's history and not just take a nice photo home. Highly recommended for couples because the place is very romantic. I'll come back someday!
My tour in Pisa was much better than I expected! Ronny, the guide, showed passion, knowledge and real commintment to make the tour a great experience.
An excellent and fun tour of Pisa. We learned a lot from our guide, Alice, who not only knows a lot about Pisa's history and life, but is also quite entertaining. Her attitude made the two-hour tour go by quickly, and we learned a lot.
Contrary to popular belief, the Leaning Tower of Pisa isn't the only thing to see or discover in Pisa. This city is truly beautiful, and best of all, it's located in the Tuscany region, which means the weather and food here are perfect. Although this tour focuses on Miracle Square, which is home to the cathedral, the baptistery, and the leaning tower, our guide gave us a clear overview of everything we could find in this beautiful city. Thanks, Alice!
I had a fantastic time on this walking tour along with fellow travelers. This tour is focused on the miracle square and this is exactly what I was looking for because I wanted to learn more about the leaning tower and not just taking a picture for my social media. It was hot but our guide did her best to keep us on the shadow which I really appreciate it.
I had a nice time with our wonderful guide in this guided walking tour in Pisa. The tour took place in the Miracle Square where we could learned about the history of the city. This includes of course the leaning tower which is the symbol of the city and the reason I came for.
Interesting and detailed tour by Alice. Lots of history and details on the engineering surrounding the site. Alice was highly knowledgeable and ensured we were in the shade as much as possible. She provided recommendations both during the tour for accessing the sites and for other activities snd eateries post tour.
Excellent tour guide, shared information in an accessible way and was considerate of all group members. Would highly recommend.
We did 90 minute walking tour in Pisa. Our tour guide was friendly and informative. Always use Viator for our city break walking tours
We turned up at 11.30 and waited for half an hour and nobody turned up considering the guided walk was supposed to start at 11.45 nobody came so can I have a refund please
especially seeing the iconic Leaning Tower up close, it’s even more impressive in person! Our guide gave us so many fascinating details about the tower's history, its unique tilt, and how they’ve worked to preserve it over the years. We learned so much and appreciated the guide's passion and depth of knowledge.
We absolutely loved our walking tour in Pisa, which focused mainly on the breathtaking Miracle Square! Spending most of our time there was perfect since it's home to the Leaning Tower, Cathedral, and Baptistery, all in one stunning location. Our guide shared fascinating insights about each building, and it was incredible to hear about the history and architecture that make this square so unique. We had plenty of time for photos, and the guide’s explanations added so much to the experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Pisa!
Perfect day in Pisa!We had an amazing time on this walking tour in Pisa! It was the perfect way to see the city’s highlights. Our guide Alice was friendly, knowledgeable, and full of fun facts that brought the city to life. Of course, we got some classic shots with the Leaning Tower, but we also enjoyed discovering lesser-known spots that we would have missed on our own. The tour was well-paced, allowing us time to take in the sights and ask questions. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make the most of their time in Pisa!
We just started our trip through Italy, and the walking tour in Pisa was the perfect introduction! Of course, we were excited to see the famous Leaning Tower, but what really surprised us was how much we learned about the city's history and its importance during the Middle Ages. The guide’s stories about the local architecture were fascinating, and we loved the hidden spots we wouldn’t have found on our own.
Great guide attended us, very didactic. Excellent visit and explanation about the history of the city and the famous inclined tower.
Wonderful guided tour with guide Alice, very entertaining and entertaining, also for our children (14 years and 16 years). It brings history to life and you learn so much about the cathedral and its surroundings that you see it through different eyes afterwards. Clear recommendation, absolutely worth it!
