Itinerary
Your tour of Pisa begins at Piazza del Duomo just outside the Porta Nuova where you will meet your local guide. You will learn about the history of the place, how this square was built with its prominent monuments such as the Cathedral, Baptistery, Monumental Cemetery, and of course the Leaning Tower and the mysterious cause of its inclination. From here we will move on to discover the rest of the city, which has much to offer besides its iconic tower. We will stop at a local pastry shop to break up the morning with a sweet Pisan-style breakfast. (In some days of the year the breakfast will be substitute with artisan gelato)
We will continue our tour by going to discover the medieval quarter with the fascinating Piazza dei Cavalieri that houses one of the most important universities in the world in addition to the wonderful palaces and churches that hide interesting stories and anecdotes
We will then reach the popular heart of the city with its fruit and vegetable market that gives a lively atmosphere. We will stroll under Pisa's characteristic arcades where merchants once sold their wares and which now houses numerous stores and bars.
We will then have reached the Arno River, which is one of the most interesting areas of the city with its noble palaces, bridges, churches and breathtaking views. You will also learn about the folkloric side of the city, which right here organizes tournaments and medival events that take Pisa back to its glorious past as a Maritime Republic. A quick look also at the southern quarter of the city just before relaxing and enjoying a delicious sandwich and a glass of wine at a local wine shop overlooking the river. Cheers

After an initial hiccup with the meeting location we met Antonella our guide who was wonderful. If using Viator, the directions provided by them are incorrect. Antonella was very interesting and informative. The tour was everything and more, that we hoped it would be. Highly recommend.
It was raining today but Toni made it fun. Very informative. The infamous Pisa Leaning Tower mystery is now answered for me. It was just enough history and light food for us. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Antonella was a wonderful guide. Our time in Pisa was wonderful! We learned so much about Pisa’s rich history.
We had a wonderful tour with our family. She kept it fun and engaging and told us some relevant things about the area and where our ancestors came from. Highly recommend!
Antonia was an amazing guide. Friendly and very informative. The tour was great for learning history of Pisa and the little food stops were great. A wonderful few hours spent
The local info manager mixed with history and breakfast/ lunch. Everything was perfectly paced and rich with interesting info. Thank you!!!
Antonella was great! One of the best tours, she had so much history to share, we had a great time and so many recommendations for other towns we were visiting!! Thank you so much! We enjoyed your company and will always remember our time!
AMAZING! Cannot recommend this tour and our guide Marta, enough. We learnt so much about the architecture, history and food. Book it, you won’t regret it.
My sister and I were the only ones booked on the tour so we had the wonderful Antonella to ourselves! She was FANTASTIC! So knowledgeable about Pisa, its history, the monuments, the culture. We learned so much! We met near the Piazza dei Miracoli and learned about the main monuments before going to a delightful cafe for breakfast - the most delicious coffee and typical pastry. We then continued our tour, ending near the river where we had a traditional sandwich and a gorgeous large glass of wine! Antonella was also kind enough to give us lots of fantastic recommendations for our stay - the best restaurants, ice cream shops and cafes. I would highly recommend this tour. It is not cheap compared with some, but I felt it was good value for money and a morning really well spent!

Antonella was very knowledgeable about the history and local culture. She was very personable and made the tour fabulous. We highly recommend this tour before you go into any of the pisa monuments so you can understand the history beforehand and know what you are looking at
Myself and my teenage daughter had a fabulous tour with our guide Antonella. We learnt a lot about the history of Pisa and the interesting monuments. We had our coffee and locally produced cake in a great little Pasticceria, then we walked around Pisa learning about piazzas and buildings, and I was able to practise my Italian at the local markets. Antonella made it really good fun and also recommended other things to do like visiting Lucca which we did and loved it. Thanks for a fantastic tour!
We had a walking tour around Pisa starting around the leaning tower. Our guide was local and knowledgeable about the tower and the region. We stopped for a coffee and local snack then walked into town. We finished up with a sandwich with local fillings and a glass of wine. I typically like these types of tours because you get local knowledge and stories that add to your experience of visiting. In particular we are glad that we did it in Pisa because we saw how much more there is to the town than just the tower. The amount of food was sufficient, the only improvement would have been that for the coffee stop that there would have been a couple of selections of biscuits.
We met our guide on time and at an easy to find location. She was charming and very knowledgeable. Her ability to discuss all aspects of Tuscany and the history she provided was fascinating. She was not rushed and customized the tour to accommodate our interests.
We got an amazing time, Antonella was superb! She showed us around, talk the history and gave us a hint for the best places to eat! Highly recommend if you come first time to Pisa!
Absolutely amazing, we love it very much! Antonia got so much knowledge, showed us good places for food, told us a lot about pisa,Luca , we highly recommend!
We had a great time with Antonella visiting and learning about Pisa. Love that the walking is broken up with delicious food stops!!
Antonella was wonderful: very knowledgeable and passionate about Pisa and also very helpful with recommendations for restaurants, gelaterias, etc.
My guide for this tour was Antonia. She was very knowledgeable in not only in Pisa but the whole of the Tuscan region. I got held up and was running a little late, it was easy for me to contact the organiser and the group waited for me. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Loved the fact that we got to walk through the city of Pisa and not just the “tourist-y” stuff! Antonella was 5+⭐️ !
We had a wonderful tour with Antonella! The tower is amazing to see, of course, but there is so much more to Pisa that she shared with us. We also really enjoyed the food along the way. Thanks for a great morning!
Pisa was great - and our tour guide even greater! We went the day before to Lucca and loved the tour so much we booked a second day. Antonella is so well versed in history, fun facts and legends. SO much fun! We highly recommend this group to help make beautiful memories of beautiful places!
Antonella was friendly and knowledgeable. The food she introduced was delicious, especially the Panini raw sausage!
Great tour! Great tour guide. We had a great time. We would recommend. Our kids and family loved it. We did the private tour, which we’d recommend.
What an incredible tour. We are six Americans, and this tour gave us an incredible overview of Pisa. We didn't know anything about Pisa before this, and we especially loved the food part of the tour. We also had three middle schoo/high school kids with us, and this was far better than learning about Pisa and the middle ages at school!
Very instructive visit with a highly sympathic hostess. We really enjoyed the comments including history but also culture and traditions. The breakfast with capuccino, traditonal cakes was appreciated. Sarah showed us very interesting parts of the city.
Marta was so knowledgeable and passionate about Pisa. She knew so much and pointed out details I had passed the previous day and never noticed. She was patient with my constant interruptions with questions. I highly recommend this tour. I asked her to choose the foods for me to try and all of it was good and food I wouldn’t had chosen on my own but really enjoyed and looking forward to eating again!
We did the tour with Antonella, she was great at explaining us everything about the history without boring us and showing us great places to eat. The tour was just the 4 of us which made it very personal and when we left her, we felt that we left a friend. Highly recommend this tour with Antonella. She even sent us an email after we left her with names of places to go in the area.
Antonella was a perfect guide to the history of Pisa. I enjoyed the tour very much. Excellent experience.
We enjoyed learning about Pisa and it’s separate neighborhoods with Chiara. She was knowledgeable and we broke it up with a breakfast and a lunch food experience along the way. She took us to a local Panineria Enoteca Called “I Porci Comodi’ The food and along with being able to see where Galileo once lived in his life was the highlights of the middle but ending in the miracle Plaza taking fun photos in front of the leaning tower of Pisa was the highlight. We learned much about history and modern day pizza from Chiara and would definitely recommend for a interesting and informative Tour!!
Chiara gave an excellent tour of Pisa—giving a history of the city as we passed by a number of landmarks. (And answering my many questions!) The food stops were great and showcased local specialities. It was a wonderful introduction to Pisa and an excellent way to learn more about the city. She also gave helpful tips about how to explore Miracle Square and make the most of my time there. A truly great day!
Had a grand time exploring Pisa with not one but two guides! Sara and Antonella were great hosts and gave me a solid history lesson of the city as well as bringing me to a few food spots. I even went back to the cecina spot on my walk back to the train station! Very tasty! It was a lovely tour and I would highly recommend doing a tour with either guide or the rest of the Tuscany Like a Local crew. They were all very friendly, responsive, and accommodating leading up to the meet up as well. Brave ragazze! Grazie!
Enough information, you see things you wouldn't normally see, friendly woman, with some food and drink. Tour is in English
Super nice and interesting tour! Really nice and helpful guide. To be redone. Also for the food, very good! Super recommended!
