Was not expecting to be dropped off at a table with a plate of cheese and 2 bottles of wine to be shared by 8. They never came back to our table to explain the different cheeses.. they never came back to ask if we wanted to purchase any of the items. Not worth the cost
be sure to get exact address-we did not receive exact address until after I called customer service, so we were late to the tour, and they were unable to accommodate us. It was a long ride and a complete waste of money
Great guide/owner who spoke good English and was very knowledgeable on pecorino production. Fun tour of farm. Also enjoyed w8ne produced on their farm.
The landscape is breathtaking, the farm four was amazing to see the sheep milking, see the other animals on the farm. We enjoyed the wine and cheese tasting and purchased some wine. There is a restaurant on property that we even came back a second time to enjoy dinner and the sunset. This is a chance to slow down from other busy day trips like Rome or Florence. You can get lost in the rolling hills of the landscape, it’s worth experiencing!!
Interesting tour on the aging process of Pecorino cheese. We had a variety of cheese samples paired with 3 different kinds of wine. Everything was delicious. The scenery was breathtaking! We had a wonderful time.
First class farm. Stunning views. Great guide. The drive there is one if the prettiest in all of Tuscany.
There is no wine tour, we got a bottle that even the tour guide said was from down the road. We watched a video and looked at pictures, all things that could have been done from the house. We did not see any cheese being made, we saw iPad videos of cheese being made, we saw no sheep. Basically we walked around the cheese making facility and watched videos/looked at pictures of what they do. The tour guide was nice, but the experience was lacking and worth no more than $20. You could probably get more out of a Netflix documentary. I’m more so frustrated with the false advertisement showing on Viator - we want to make sure other travelers are not mislead on this experience.
Enjoyable experience. Beautiful farm with lots of animals. Nice tasting of cheese and wine. Learned about cheese making process. Would recommend!
We really enjoyed the drive out to the farm, the views on the way, then once there being shown how the farm and its animals are responsible for the amazing pecorino we enjoy! Our guide/owner gave excellent explanation!
Great tour! Andre was very knowledgeable and friendly! Beautiful farm and the Pecorino cheese they make there is AMAZING! Highly recommend this tour!
Small family owned business. Guided tour by family’s son who showed all the phases of cheese making, from milking to aging the cheese. We finished with tasting of 5 cheeses or different ages, family produced olive oil, yogurt made from their sheep milk (50% cow), and tested their soaps & scrubs. Family members were very hospitable, even picking figs for us from the trees. We were able to see the sheep after after locating them by their bells.
A tour of a beautiful organic farm, with a knowledgeable guide Leanna. You learn about the cheese making process and the different types of pecorino cheese. The cheese tasting is very enjoyable, set outside with fellow guests, presented with bread, oils, and wine. Very interesting to hear how the family is keeping the farm as a traditional organic entity.
This tour was OK. The cheese was eh - but the wine was delicious. Our tour guide was very quick and rushed thru the tour. The farm was beautiful.
This was a last-minute decision, but it ended up being one of my favorite stops on our trip. The view here is absolutely unreal. We started with a tour of the cheese-making process, accompanied by some truly breathtaking views of the farm. Then we visited the animals—baby goats included!—and even got the chance to pet a few. Afterward, we sat at one of their outdoor tables overlooking the stunning Val d’Orcia and enjoyed a tasting of all the different cheeses made on-site, each thoughtfully paired with a local wine. Our guide was a knowledgeable and passionate sommelier, which made the experience even more special. My partner and I both even questioned getting a reservation for dinner and going back later that same day. You can stay here and camp for a few days on the property as well!
Wonderful experience. Located in a beautiful area. Fun for the whole family with animals to pet. The cheese and wine was delicious while enjoying an exquisite view. Our guide was friendly and answered all questions.
This was a great tour in a beautiful setting . Saverio was an excellent tour guide, providing lots of interesting information. The cheese and wine selections were delicious.
Lovely experience, beautiful location and delicious cheese! Staff were knowledgeable and friendly and so were the animals!
Grateful our experience was with Sandra who we will never forget. She's an inspiration and her passion for staying true to what the earth provides us will stay with us forever
This is such a unique experience! Small family owned farm that welcomes you to see how they make their over 20 types of sheep and goats milk cheese. The tour was led by Michael, son of the owners, and he was great! We learned a lot about the process and what it takes to run the farm and self sustained restaurant. Tasted some amazing cheese and wine and had a great time!
Went to location of that was written in my Viator confirmation and was informed tour was at a farm 30 minutes away. Staff at Valdichana living were rude. They said I was informed, which I do not recall. Regardless, the ticket I got from Viator had an address which is where I went. I got no tour. I asked for a refund because of the unclear communication and was told to pound sand. I would never recommend Valdichana Living for any tour. They do not treat their customers correctly
Saverio made us this perfect and unforgettable experience... it is a wonderful place in Pienza that offers much more than a fabulous Pecorino
