Honest Wines- Wine Tasting At Cantina Biagiotti

I highly recommend the Honest Wines - Cantina Biagiotti wine tour. Francesco was our host and really made our visit enjoyable. If you want to have a fun couple of hours tasting good wine and food, this is it. We shipped several bottles of wine back to the U.S. with no issues and the price was right.

This is a small family vineyard. Your host is the winemaker who is incredibly knowledgeable and happily shares that knowledge. The tasting included explanations of each wine (including the choice of wine name) and the tasting included a light meal that matched the wines. Francesco is a great host and we had thoroughly enjoyable visit. We highly recommend this tour.

We had the best afternoon with Francesco at the vineyard in Lucca as part of our Tuscan honeymoon. The wines are as delicious as the views and the company. We learnt so much and ate and drank so much. The entire family are so generous with their knowledge, their time, their stories and should be so proud of what they have created. One of the highlights of our trip - we cannot recommend it enough!

I can highly recommend to book this wine tasting. We were a group of friends who visited Lucca and it was an experience we will always remember. Francesco guided us through the process of wine making and told us about their family traditions (they have a local bio wine business). First we visited a part of the vineyard and later we tasted different wines + food snacks in their little and charming wine cellar (like salami, honey, bread and olive oil, an omelette to share). Francesco showed us one white, an orange (new experience for us!) and three different red wines to taste. We liked the wine so much we also bought some bottles to take home! All in all it took 3 hours and was a great experience! :)

This is a family business. We arrived and met Francesco and his Dad, who was pressing grapes from the harvest. Unlike large and corporate businesses, most tasks are competed manually and Fransceso explained how they maximise the limited space to get the most out of grapes. The tasting was very relaxed, each wine paired with food to bring out the appropriate flavours. The tasting room houses each of the different wines made and sold and is very much used as part of the process. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the knowledge that Francesco shared with us, it was almost like visiting family. Loved it!

This was my first winery tour + wine tasting. Now I want to be like Francesco and own a winery. Such a lovely experience on Saturday. Recommended!!!

The experience Francesco offers really is great! He was helpful and informative from start to finish. The tour was around 3 hours long and we were part of a small group so the experience really did feel personal with a nice atmosphere. The wines we tasted were excellent and the information Francesco gives about each wine from his family run winery was informative without being over complicated or pretentious. Would highly recommend.

Had a great afternoon at the vineyard with Francesco telling us the story of the wine making and his family. Francesco is very engaging, he is a great ambassador for the business enthusiastic about the wines. Our taxi did not turn up and we had to get another so were 15 minutes late and Francesco kindly waited for us. You get 4 wines to taste and some local produce to nibble on, very tasty it was too. Top tip - we had an issue getting back to Lucca as the bus did not turn up and we had to wait for about an hour in blistering heat so it might be sensible to have Francesco to order you a taxi to get back, worth the money.

Francisco was amazing and so knowledgeable about the art of making wine - he has a farmers heart as is proud of his family’s vineyard. He provided a warm welcoming atmosphere!

Francesco was engaging, friendly, knowledgeable. He showed us the kit and how the wine was made. We tasted 4 of their wines which he explained their make up, what they were trying to do and the labels. The wines were excellent. We saw the vines and explained how they were cared for. We had an amazing choice of food, all local with the wine; port, cheese, honey, bread, tomatoes. It was a lovely experience and well worth it. We bought a couple of bottles to take home. I have been to wine country in Napa. I will be honest, when I first arrived my first impression was skeptical. Francesco is an engaging, passionate and witty personality. It was more informal in comparison to my previous experiences in a wonderful way. You feel like you are a distant cousin that is being welcomed back to a family creation. All experiences are enriched by the people you meet along the way. The wine was delicious and Francesco was delighted. He has great musical taste if you are lucky enough to hear it. I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in a lighthearted and warm experience.

We have visited several wineries in different countries but this is by far our favourite experience! Francesco gave us a great explanation of the process and history. He made us feel so welcome and relaxed, and was such good fun! What made this tour so special was that the winery is tiny - a true artisanal product being explained by the maker. The story of the wine is all about family and it really touched my family. The food and wine tasting were excellent. One of our favourite experiences in Italy!

Francesco was a great host. He gave us a great overview of the history of the vineyard and the wine making process. He walked us through and had us sample a variety of wines they make and served us cheese, meats, olives, bread and a fabulous potato frittata. Would highly recommend this tour!

What an amazing place to visit. Firstly, it's easy to get to on the local bus, 25 mins through the Lucca countryside, which makes it really accessible. Then you arrive and are warmly greeted by Francesco who is the son of the owner. His English is very good (he speaks other languages too), he knows so much about the property, he is so clealy dedicated to the family and the region: he is an excellent host. We were a small group (6) and a beautiful family from Norway were my friends for the day. We did a walk through the vineyards, learned all about the lifecycle of making wine, the provenance of the winery and their products. We then did a tasting within the wine rooms, with beautiful produce (a friend's honey, locally made cheese, fresh focaccia, family made salumi). He talked us through each of the wines, their characteristics and how they complement food. It was an amazing afternoon where I felt lucky to have learned so much and shared a beautiful repast with new friends.

Love love love this experience. It was our first ever wine tasting experience and was amazing from start to finish Francesco picked us up from the train station for a small fee of 30 euro and as soon as we meet him we all felt at ease fran was so interesting and very informative and passionate about his family vinery . We visited the vine yard and then went to the cellar to see where the wine process took place lots more information and fran answered all our questions . Then the wines themselves were amazing we all enjoyed the orange wine aswell as the food and red wines.. fran remembered it was my special birthday and bought a cake for us all to share . Lucca is a great place to visit and a must for anyone visiting tuscany .. thank you for making this visit a memorable birthday .

Visiting Cantina Biagiotti was one of the highlights of our time in Tuscany. Owner Francesco personally gave us a tour of the winery, sharing the history and passion behind this wonderful vineyard — it was the kind of warm, intimate experience that you simply can’t find at larger commercial wineries. The wines were delicious, and the food was wonderful. You could taste the care and tradition in every glass & every bite. If you’re in the Lucca area, do not miss this place. Highly recommend!

Francesco was a wonderful representative of his family run vineyard. Knowledgeable, friendly, warm hospitality. The small group (5) was perfect for the tasting which included delicious cheese, meats, olive oil, olives and bread. Fabulous wines in an intimate setting. We highly recommend this tasting.

We loved that it was a small intimate family winery. Francisco was very informative but best of all very fun! The wines are very good and it is definitely worth the $30 euros for him to transport us to the winery and back from Lucca. We loved the whole experience.

On a trip, with my husband, who is here for work. So, I was solo on this tour with Francesco. It was a wonderful time spent with him. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his small, family winery and the history behind it. The wine is very good and we had a great conversation about many different subjects while drinking wine and enjoying a small charcuterie tray! Highly recommend!

Our visit to Cantina Biagiotti was one of the highlights of our trip near Lucca. Francesco, who runs the experience, was absolutely fantastic—laid back, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the winemaking process and his family’s deep roots in the region. The tour felt warm and genuine, not rushed or commercial, giving us a real sense of the passion and tradition behind their wines. Despite arriving about 30 minutes late, we were welcomed with such kindness and grace. The hospitality was exceptional—the food pairings were delicious, the wines were beautifully crafted, and the setting among the vineyards was peaceful and authentic. Francesco made the entire experience feel like spending an afternoon with friends rather than a formal tasting. We left with full hearts (and a few bottles to take home!). Highly recommend this experience for anyone wanting a true taste of Tuscan family winemaking.

Really nice ”no nonsense” wine tour, where you don’t have to rent a car and drive yourself, with pick-up and at an affordable price for all. Small winery with mixed blend white and red wines. The strength is that they talk plainly about what they have and how they do it, without any snobbery. Your served plenty of wine and snacks in a very relaxed environment. Can of course not compete with the big Tuscan producers in either quality or price, but Francesco is both ”down to earth”, honest and doesn’t try to tell you what is ”right or weong”. Recommended!

We had a fantastic evening with Francesco at his family’s vineyard! The vineyard itself is in a stunning location with some fascinating history. The wine tasting is excellent and Francesco is very generous in providing lots of local foods to have with it. We would highly recommend anyone to visit this winery if you are in the area.

This was a fantastic little family ran winery. We started by walking out to some vineyards then inside to look at the tanks and operations. This was a very small space but it was very interesting to hear about how they began. For the wine and food tasting we went into the next room where he prepared the foor and poured the wine. The wine was good and pairing it with some food was perfect. You could tell he really enjoyed what he did. I would highly recommend this winery, they make it very personal and enjoyable. A great family ran winery.

Vineyard set in the beautiful countryside a short distance from Lucca. Despite the heatwave this was a lovely afternoon - in the cool space of part of a former monastery - we tasted white, orange and red wines and Francesco told us their story in an engaging way weaving in wine expertise, vine knowledge and family history whilst providing food pairings with each wine. He was an excellent host. We then went into the vineyard which was beautiful. There were 7 of us altogether. Highly recommended tour.
