Discover Siena: Guided Walking Tour And Cathedral Visit

Our only recommendation would be to do this early in your stay in Siena to take advantage of the knowledge gained about the beautiful city

The tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. The rest of the team on-site was very kind and friendly too. A very good opportunity to get to know the history and fun facts about the city. The only problem was the communication with MyTour itself. I booked the tour for 9:30am. I got a WhatsApp message after 7am that the tour will be held at 9am without any further clarifications why and without any questions if it was okay for me. The communication via Viator by my initiative was more clear and respectful, but especially any changes in the morning tours should be communicated better, as they are harder to adapt to. Apparently I was the only one who booked the tour for this time slot and they had to reschedule. As I arrived, there was no one on the site and the tour group I joined after was late by 20 minutes. Again, understandable, but there was no communication about the delay, I had to reach out to them myself. I would give the experience 3.5/5, although the rest of the tour was very good.

Very knowledgeable guide and accommodating to all inquiries. Would highly recommend this tour which comprehensive but not too long.

Helena was great and we learned a a lot about the history of Siena. She was patient and lots of fun. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience!!!

Our guide for the tour of Siena was great and very informative about the history and stories behind the sights that we were seeing from the Duomo to the Piazza del Campo. She pointed out details of the area and local customs and reasons behind the Italian traditions, like the Palio of Siena. Hopefully we will be able to return one year to see this interesting horse race.

Erica was an excellent guide, very informative and full of fun facts. As the other people who had booked the tour did not turn up I had a “Private” tour and this was the complete cherry on the cake! I would thoroughly recommend Erica and her tour to anyone who wants to learn all about Siena. Clearly Erica loves her city and by the end of the tour so did I!

We expected to discover cellars more impressive in terms of their structure and more related to the promotional photos of the visit. Our guide was able to give us historical information about the city and the wine tradition but fortunately our group was small because without an audio system it was difficult to understand what she said.

The tour was disappointing, we did not get to learn much about Siena and as it was a combined English and Italian tour. The guide was hard to hear and you never knew when the guide was going to switch languages.

I am so disappointed with how this turned out. I will never book with Viator again as they are no help when you have any questions or need assistance. They just keep bouncing you around… call this number, then call this number and no one can give you any help.

Such a knowledgable guide who brought Siena alive and helped us understand its history and character. I would fully recommend this to anyone who wanted to know about Siena. Such good value too.

Choose a tour that provides what it advertises what you then pay for. We paid for a 3 hour tour provided by a company Viator which included Ticket Entrance to the Duomo Ticket Entrance to the Baptistery Museum complex entrance ticket we ended up with a 2 hour tour which was interesting however did not include any of the above. When we brought this up with the company we were fobbed off and were sent the following email; We regret to hear about the circumstances surrounding your refund request. Viator strives to make every attempt to address our customers' concerns. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to offer a refund. So as a word of warning before you start your tour with the tour guide establish exactly what they are intending to show you.

Seeing the Cathedral but she spent almost all of the time there. She also showed us the square. We were disappointed because we were shown very little of Siena with this tour

Our guide Anna was well prepared and of great culture. She was able to let us enjoy every moment of our tour. We suggest this tour to all tourists. Thank you!

Really disappointed with this experience. Have no idea what the tour is like? Despite emailing, calling now Metroid times and telling the company we were stuck in traffic and would be 5mins late- they did nothing to assist. We got to Piazza Di Campo and our guide would have been 5 minutes ahead of us. We called to ask her f they could direct us to where we were needing to be and they basically wouldn’t help. M advice- be early and won’t expect any assistance. This was number 8 of walking tours we had done in Italy and the only one that we found really not helpful.

It took a long time before the guide found us. The guide was not inspirated. Our tour was too short.

Lovely city very easy to walk around. Guide was not that knowledgable but tried her best seemed very set on getting done in the hour

The tour guide (cant remember her name) was super knowledgeable, friendly, helped us with individual needs, had great stories, and answered all questions without hesitation. Incredible!! She spoke excellent English and Spanish. It is held in a small group which makes it better when traveling with teenagers to maintain their attention, information shared was relevant so nobody got distracted. Most of the city is covered during the tour.

She was very knowledgeable and flexible. We enjoyed listening to her explanations.. She was very accommodating when we were a little bit late because of parking issues.

We have a very nice guide and informative in all the places of Siena we enjoyed so much highly recommended.

Tour started 30 minutes late. Guide was lousy not from Siena. I would make sure tour starts in Siena not from Florence. I was sent to the wrong meeting place and had to call to find out why no one else was there. I was offered a refund not to write a bad review. Sham on TripAdvisor and Viator

Today (Dec. 5, 2019) my husband and I took the Guided walking tour of Siena. Following the instructions stated in the e-mailed confirmation receipt, we arrived at the designated meeting place 15 minutes before the 11:00 tour was supposed to begin; however, no one from the company was there to meet us. We telephoned the company and was told that we were in the right place and that someone would be there soon. We waited until almost 11:00, the time the tour was scheduled to begin, before anyone from the company arrived. At that time a woman from MY TOUR appeared and said we needed to wait for two other people. We waited for them for another 15 minutes, and then learned that the tour would originate elsewhere and not where we had been instructed to meet. We then walked about 13 minutes to join the tour group (outside the church of Saint Dominick) that was just arriving from Florence. We then waited approximately another 10 minutes for two additional people who never showed up. As a result, the tour started after 11:30, a full thirty minutes late, cutting out a third of what was advertised to be an hour and a half tour. BUT THAT'S NOT THE WORST PART. Had the tour that followed been worthwhile, we would not be so incredibly dissatisfied. However, Rosa, the tour guide who led the group, was by far the least knowledgable guide we have ever encountered in a tour. Her commentary was incredibly simplistic and poor, filled with generalities and flat out misinformation about Romanesque and Gothic art, architecture, and other historical details about Siena. If it was possible to rate this tour at a zero, that's the grade we would give it. Very disappointing tour and a complete waste of time and money. We absolutely do not recommend it.

We enjoyed so much the last day that we have it in Florence we booked this tour by our hotel and we are so lucky that we have the guide leader that I saw her name before in the reviews named Rosa we passed a very long day and Alot of walking but enjoyable day we will thank all of my tour team from the check in guys until the last time Rosa with us to wait for a taxi highly recommended 💓💓

We bought I guided walking tour for our family of four. We were there 1/2 hour early and were told to wait outside for our tour guide. A half hour later two tour guides with their company shirts come out and started gathering people for the tour. My husband asked one of the tour guides if he was our guide he said yes, get with the group. We followed this group for 20 minutes through Siena walking very quickly to keep up. Inexplicably no one was saying anything just walking. They led us to a bus. We questioned them and they said we were with the wrong group and did not apologize at all for their error. We walked all the way back to the starting point another 20 minutes. After arguing for well over 30 minutes they refused to give us another tour or refund our money despite the error clearly being theirs. We wasted a good part of our short trip on this mismanagement on their part. Terrible way to run a business! Beware, this company is a hot mess.

Great guided tour with Maria Elena Many interesting stories from Siena and much knowledge of the art we could see in the cathedral It's definitely worth it!

A very pleasant tour of the city, in a short time you can discover the beauties of the city. Our guide Ludovica was spectacular and passionately told various interesting anecdotes about the city. We also added the guide inside the Duomo in last resort and never decision was more right. Highly recommended!

Beautiful city, I expected less of it but I have been pleasantly surprised Siena. It is a beautiful city to visit. On 12/20/19 we carried out a tour by Lavinia and our assessment is excellent. Good communicator, educated and knowledgeable of the citizenry. Lavinia, you get a 10.
