What a nice evening getting to know Luisa and hear about her family’s history in the district. We learned how to make pasta and bruschetta and had a lovely time.

We arrived at the home of Luisa in Pistoia, Italy. She welcomed 8 of us into her lovely home for a cooking demonstration and a wonderful meal. She showed us how to make egg pasta, we all took part in making the pasta which was a lot of fun. We then saw how she made Bruschetta with tomato and garlic, oil and basil and how to arrange a plate with local meats and cheese. Our first course was the pasta we made with a delicious zucchini sauce with garlic and mint. Our second course was pork with milk and sage along with Gratinated cherry tomatoes. Most of the meal came from Luisa's garden which made it so fresh and delicious. Our dessert was a traditional Creme Caramel. We had homemade bread and local Tuscan Red and White wines. This was one of the highlights of our vacation, Luisa was a wonderful host, she was so warm and made us feel so welcome. We were a group of 8 friends, but after sitting around the table with Luisa and learning about some if the traditions involved in Tuscan cooking we felt like a family of 9. Thank you so much Luisa for your warmth and hospitality. This will be one of my favorite memories of our beautiful tirip to Italy.
We had a fabulous time. Host was so knowledgeable about food, culture and area. Definitely recommend. Good value for money.
We enjoyed a lovely evening with Luisa learning how to make two types of pasta. Luisa gave excellent instructions we started by making Tirimisu then moving onto our pasta. First an egg pasta with a filling. Then a water based pasta. Luisa showed us different ways of preparing the pasta. She then made our pasta into a delicious meal for us followed by wonderful tiramisu. Very enjoyable time with a new skill to use at home. Thankyou
If we could give her 10 stars we would! She was gracious fun and amazing to work with. We never felt rushed with our class and made tiramisu and 2 types of pasta. We sat to lunch and had an excellent conversation Would recommend making time for this class!
Great night with Luisa, wonderful food and she had lots of information about the area and cuisine that we enjoyed very much.
It was a delightful afternoon with Luisa learning know to make different egg pasta shapes and chocolate mousse. She was entertaining and fun to talk to. Her instructions were clear and easy to follow. I love that the ingredients used are simple items one would have on hand in every kitchen, egg, flour, butter, cheese, spinach, EVOO and easily substitutable with other stuff. And the ratios are easy to remember as well. Highly recommend as an activity to do especially when you are tired of churches and museums. And home made pasta and chocolate mousse are definitely something I can whip up again and again at home. Highly recommend! It was lovely to sit and enjoy what we made over a glass of wine at the end of it!
Louisa was wonderful, warm and welcoming. She made us very comfortable in her home and was a pleasure to have a meal with. She answered all of our questions and share much information about Pistoia
Sonia welcomed us in her beautiful home and cooked a wonderful meal with local ingredients. Everything was fresh, homemade and tasty. She included us in the cooking which was so much fun. Our conversation and time spent is something we will always cherish. Highly recommended!
Amazing time with Luisa cooking in her home and experiencing all the local flavors of her origin ! We enjoyed every minute
It was an absolute pleasure with the wonderful easy to make recipes ~ with good food & conversation ~ made my trip to Pistoia complete
We hade the most unique experience with Luisa. She welcomed us into her beautiful home and we made dinner together as a family. Learning about both the food it also the history and traditions associated with an Italian home cooked meal. The food and the experience is the highlight of our 10 day trip, so far. We highly recommend this as an addition to anyone’s travel itinerary. Truly a 5 star experience. 🥰
Luisa was a total joy and taught us so much about the Italian culinary experience! She is very friendly and accommodating with our culinary requirements of no dairy or egg. I recommend her to all travelers interested in visiting Bologna or any nearby area.
We had a lot of fun with Luisa! She selected three recipes that were easy to make, but provided all of us a chance to get involved in the cooking. When we ate, those dishes were supplemented with salami, bread, wine, and infused grappas. Her home is lovely with a lot of artwork on the walls. Luisa does speak English, but also had an interpreter there for anything tricky. We all agreed this was a highlight of our trip and we would do it again!
On August 18th, we went to take a fresh pasta class with Luísa Ghetti (Luvi) and it was simply fantastic. We closed the whole cycle: transforming the flour and egg into dough, kneading, preparing, cutting, and, best of all, sitting down at the table and eating the result of our work. It could have ended with a good Tuscan wine, but since I was driving, water was enough. The conversation flowed wonderfully, about plants, our life, and everything a little bit. It was an incredible experience in a dream kitchen, where we felt like we were living a true Italian moment in the heart of Tuscany. We loved meeting Luísa and knowing that she is involved in countless incredible activities, like writing books. Thank you very much Luísa
