Laura was passionate and knowledgeable about Cortona which is exactly why we wanted to take a tour of this lovely city. She pointed out places and details we would never have discovered on our own. We learned the history of the city and the historical significance of buildings and statues. The views from various places around the city were breathtaking. Thank you Laura!

Cortona is a town easy to love for everybody indeed. That’s because its atmosphere, its Etruscan past, its lovely medieval city centre and furthermore its great views. Your professional local guide will give you a private walking of the historical centre of Cortona that will bring you back in time. The tour features Piazza della Repubblica, the main square dating back to the Roman age, Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo, residence of Cardinal Passerini during the 16th century, the Palazzo Comunale, dating back to the 12th century, Palazzo Casali and Teatro Signorelli, which is a typical theatre in Neoclassical style still in use for the local theatre season. The town’s cathedral will be also part of your walking with its charming view.

Our guide Laura was a wealth of knowledge and provided great insight to Cortona. We had to adjust the time for the tour and she was most accommodating. Highly recommended.
Wonderful tour of Cortona with our guide Elisona. She explained the history of the area and we visited three of the lovely churches and discussed their history. We walked at comfortable pace on the steep pathes, all our questions were answered and ended at the fun outdoor market Wonderful and educational morning
The guide was a no-show even though I tried to confirm through email and phone call. I called Viator and they offered no compensation except a refund after driving for two full hours. I was very disappointed. In the fact I was disconnected my phone they later got back to me almost an hour later and yet nothing was offered to compensate me for my time and having no guide and driving two hours. I would look elsewhere.
Carol was great. We enjoyed the history she shared with us at a good pace. Nice walk through Cortona revealing the past and what remains today.
The guide didn't show up. Nothing great to tell. :( Tour operators should take their task more seriously as people may not return to same destination again. Very dissatisfied as there was no update until we contacted the local agency after waiting for 40 minutes. Offering a refund is no compensation.
Laura provided us an extensive, detailed history of Cortona that could not have been provided by someone other than a lifelong resident. She introduced us to other locals who were generous with their time to give us an equally passionate description of the town. To be clear, Laura hosted only my wife and myself, no group. She patiently answered questions and explained the history well in English, which is obviously not her native language. This tour is highly recommended.
Our tour guide, Laura, was fantastic. Besides being enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Cortona, she was also so helpful in pointing out interesting art galleries, restaurants and even booking a wine tasting for the next day.
Laura was very knowledgeable and so nice. She was born and raised and lives in Cortona. Showed us hidden places we would’ve missed. Really helped us appreciate the beautiful town!
After visiting Italy several years ago in different areas of the country, my favorite by far was CORTONA Italy. It is close to many tourist attractions and other area of Tuscany. It is a must see. It is older than Rome, with just the right amount of tourists without being smothered by other tourists. The restaurants are amazing and is filled with history and breathtaking views. We didn’t want to leave! Neither will you.
Our guide, Laura , was super - so lovely and knowledgeable. We covered highlights of Cortona history and sights.
Laura was an amazing guide! The whole group loved the tour especially her passion and knowledge about her town. This town is a must see part of any visit to Tuscany and Laura can really bring it to life for you.
Our guide Pamela was great! She was very informative and helpful. I think it was definitely overpriced for a 2 hour tour. It was $300 for my husband & I & that didn’t include transportation, food, entry into museums, etc.
Serina was wonderful. Extremely knowledgeable and personable. We learned about the history of Cortona and some about living in this area in the present.
This tour was amazing. 100% recommend. So many great stories, and a very deep knowledge of the local history.
The original person got caught in traffic, so substituted someone else. She was great! She grew up in Cortona and provided a ton of information on the history. Highly recommend!
Laura was a wonderful tour guide. She is very helpful, thoughtful and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this tour of a charming town rich with history.
We had a great tour with Valeria. It was wonderful to see Cortona through the eyes of someone whose family has been here for generations. Even though we have been here before, since she was a local, she took us to some great places that we didn’t know existed. She was incredibly gracious (even though we were a bit late) and showed us all over town. Thank you Valeria!
Personable and knowledgeable, Laura gave us an excellent walking tour of Cortona. With a historical perspective of the Etruscan, Roman and Renaissance eras to recent times, she pointed out everything from the Etruscan stone walls to good restaurants and shopping opportunities.
Taking the walking tour with Pamela the history and politics of the town came alive. Pamela was passionate, informative and entertaining. Her knowledge spanned history, art religion and local culture. My three siblings and partners took this tour and Pamela accommodated all our questions. We highly recommend this tour.
Our guide Pamela was just great. So much history and pride of her city to share with us. It was just the right amount of stopping and walking - hills we big but certainly doable and worth it!
Our guide was wonderful, she was able to answer our many questions, gave us tips on a great restaurant and really helped put the history of Cortona in perspective. Very, very grateful to her.
Serena was a wonderful guide. She was full of knowledge & history of Cortona. We are so glad we took the tour. So much to learn
We loved getting an insider’s view of this beautiful medieval town - and a private tour of a locked underground cistern too. The personable guide spoke great English, and made this a friendly and fun few hours of strolling.
Laura was terrific. She has so much information and just a great person. Anyone would be happy to have her as a guide.
The tour guide was flexible, accommodating, easy to understand, punctual, and explained this very well with interesting tidbits.
We were a group of 10. Julia was our tour guide and she was fantastic. She kept us all engaged, answered all of our questions, and was extremely knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour.
The guide was great. Took us to the often not visited areas made if un for us. Also drove us to the top of the city to make it Easter on us
Laura gave us an amazing tour of Cortona, sharing her enthusiasm & love of the area mixed with her knowledge of its history. All 4 of us enjoyed the conversation with her and the ability to have our many questions answered. Much better than a large group tour. We went several days into our visit, and she showed us areas we hadn't found in our own.
