Cinque Terre Small Group Tour By Minivan From Lucca

Fabulous day, opportunity to see three of the villages. Went between villages by ferry. First ferry fine, second was completely overpacked, stifling hot and claustrophobic for us. Marta was fantastic guide, Roberto an incredibly safe and conscientious driver - had an air conditioned Mercedes minivan, so comfirtable

Our tour guide, Marta, was amazing. She is do knowledgeable about the region. Throughout the 1 1/2 bus ride to the first village, she educated us about many things. When we arrived at the 1st village, we were given an ear piece to wear making it very easy to hear her. Additionally, the landscape was absolutely breathtaking as we made our way up the mountain. On the way back, she didn’t speak much which allowed us to rest. At the first village, we only had 45 minutes before the fairy arrived to take us to the next village. We would’ve liked a bit more time. We had a nice lunch at the next village and were given about 90 minutes to eat and explore. The shore and cliffs were stunning. The fairy ride was lovely. At the 3rd village we grabbed some gelato and walked around a bit. The shop owners and restarauntours are warm. The down side is that it was super crowded with tourists and there were long waits for the fairy. Also, the villages are quite run down when up close. But for me, there’s some charm in that. If you’re wanting a peaceful experience and long experiences in each village, this is not the tour for you. You must be patient and keep your expectations realistic. The best part for me was viewing the landscape and the knowledge and warmth of our tour guide and bus driver. I also liked that the group was small; just 9 of us.

Perfectly timed and no long explanations of things. Lots of time to explore. Marta was great with a sawing questions. Roberto was an excellent driver.

Wonderful experience! Saw 3 coastal villages using a very comfortable van to/from Lucca and the 2 ferry rides which were fun with fantastic views. Our guide Marta was knowledgeable with an accommodating personality and great sense of humor. She mage the day a success!

I highly recommend this company for tours. I had two tours with them, and the guides were exceptional on both tours, the bus was comfortable and clean, everything was easy and well organized. I really appreciated the over and above service.

It is a great way to see several Cinque Terra towns without the long hike between each one. The ferry ride was a nice way to see the towns from the water which I think is the best view.

From start to finish the day is a magical adventure, whether strolling along the cliff side streets, boating along the coastline, swimming in the Mediterranean, savoring black and white pasta and calamari with a glass of wine, taking in the astonishing architecture’s, or sharing stories with people, it all is coordinated, maneuvered and made fascinating and so very interesting by the guide - ask any question and the answers were unfolded creating a picture and story as if living in a fairy tale.

The Cinque Terre tour was very good! Vittorio was extremely knowledgeable about everything, and he was attentive to all of our needs. It was a long day but it went very quickly. I would like to return.

This was a mini-van tour from Lucca to Cinque Terre. On the ride to the area, our guide was well informed provided interesting information. I would have liked more time with the guide in each of the towns we visited as opposed to being on our own, especially in Monterosso.

A fantastic day out. Having walked four of the five legs of the.Cinque Terra it was wonderful to see it from the sea, and it was a lot less arduous. Marta, our guide, was friendly informative and very knowledgeable. All in all a great experience in a truly beautiful part of Italy

Martha our guide and driver arrived promptly for pickup. We were the only two people on the tour and Martha was so friendly and warm, it made conversation during our drive so easy. She was a fabulous guide, taking us to 3 of the 5 villages. We had a great day visiting Cinque Terre.

My wife and I did this tour today. It was enjoyable although the heat made it tough. There were 12 of us in a van for the 1.5 hr trip each way. The van was full. In general the tour was ok. The guide did a decent job and our driver was good also. Based on the cost (they all seem to be about the same cost), I would take the train and pay for the ferry myself (had I of known). I think you could cut the cost in at least 1/2 and not be in that "herding" mode. All in not horrible but not exceptional either.

This was a good way to see an area that would be difficult to see on your own with parking, mountainous roads, etc. The itinerary allowed free time in each stop, which was appreciated. The area was very touristy, filled with cruise ship large groups, which made it challenging to get around but our tour worked around that. There was not as much steep walking as we thought, which was good

Very interesting, cultural and beautiful colorful villages built on the cliffs overlooking the ocean.

Our expections of what the tour involved were not what we got. From the details of the tour we expected to visit the villages (at least 3) by water by private charter after the bus trip from lucca. Instead the bus dropped us off at the 1st village & then we caught a public ferry to the next village & then the train to the 3rd village where we were picked up by the bus…. No real guided tour as such as each location our guide advised where to meet him & at what time then you were left for “free” time. There was no history or insight into the villages culture etc. very underwhelmed.

Really great day out exploring the towns on Cinque Terre, our guide Martha was great and gave some good recommendations for lunch in Monterosso. If you’re after some beautiful ceramics that are made locally, I would highly recommend the store in Maranola, the first town we stopped at along the trip. The other towns’ offerings were not as good and I wish I could go back and buy more.

Excellent day trip with Marta as our guide. We had a full vehicle with 12, however she used a microphone so it was easy to hear her speak in very clear English. Marta gave us lots of local information. At each location, she would take us in to the town, explain what to see and where to go. We could do a little bit of each walk. At Monterosso, we were given several eating options with Marta describing each place. There was ample time to explore our three destinations. It was beautiful seeing the towns from the ferry as well as the land. We really valued her taking us into the towns and guiding us around before our free time.

We enjoyed a wonderful day with our tour guide Marie (Mare). We learned so much from her about the area and she took us to the most beautiful places in Cinque Terre. We would definitely recommend and do again.

This was a lovely tour from start to finish. The small group experience was very nice… just 7 of us. Our guide, Marta, was excellent and gave a lot of information on the ride and from town to town. The weather was good so we were able to use the ferry. Highly recommend.

Our Cinque Terre day trip with Marta was excellent! She was knowledgeable, fun and interesting. We never would have been able to plan and execute this trip on our own. We got to see so much for a single day journey and the time spent at each location was perfect with about 45 min at the first two villages and 2 hours or so at the last one. The ride was beautiful and we got helpful information on the way there with time to relax and rest on the way home. I would absolutely recommend this for first time travelers to Cinque Terre

We very much enjoyed our trip to Cinque Terre! The trip was very well organized and our guide was super helpful in providing us background information about the area, letting us know what to expect on the trip and making suggestions about what to do and see (and eat!) in the towns we visited. It was a nice mix of getting help with the logistics of visiting, but being allowed to explore independently. It was also nice to have comfortable van for part of the journey and also be able to experience the ferry. I would definitely recommend this tour- the scenery and experience of Cinque Terre is amazing!

It was a great tour! There was plenty of time in each stop to shop and eat! Victor was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable but gave us space in each spot to do our own thing. Highly recommend!

My wife and I joined Viator's Small Group Tour from Lucca for a wonderful six-hour tour. Valeria is a passionate and informed guide for her country. She provided excellent commentary about the sights we passed on our way to the five villages of Cinque Terre. The Marble Quarries, 14th-century hilltop villages, and the history of the terraced vineyards of Vernazza, Manarola, and Monterosso were eloquently described. She smoothly guided us to the boat tours, then met us at the next village. She led us through the villages, pointing out medieval defensive castles. She suggested restaurants and artisan stores. We were given free time to explore each of the villages. What a wonderful guide for the Viator Small Group Tour.

The trip was a lot better than advertised. Marta our guide was very welcoming and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the full day. Comfortable mini van from just outside the gates in Lucca. Time flew by. We would totally recommend.

Our tour of cinque Terre was excellent. Our tour guide was informative and very nice. We went by bus and then by ferry. I thought the time at each stop was very good.

Lots to see in a short period of time. Knowledgeable, flexible, friendly guide. Nice to have a motor coach drive you home after all the fun! We were able to see 4 of the 5 cities that make up Cinque Terra. We spent an appropriate amount of time in each location. The motor coach to La Spezia was pleasant as were the ferry rides and the final motor coach back was key. We were all exhausted by the end of the day and the driver took great care to get us home happily and safely. This tour was well planned and excuted - would definitely book again.

This was a very beautiful trip, by bus, by boat, by train. We had it all. Our guide Marta was very very good. She told us interesting things about the neighbourhood. She was very friendly and careful for all of us. The villages are very authentic and beautiful. Also very crowded, which is not always so pleasant. We can recommend this tour for a 100%

Victor was fabulous guide (Victorio?) for the day. I think two trips were merged but it wasnt a problem as we skipped third town to spend time at last town to use beach and take a swim. Great weather so able to use ferries. Great group of fellow travellers. Everyone got on well and driver & guide were amazing.

We spent our time as we pleased in each town, and the ferry rides between the towns provided the most beautiful views of the coastline. Roberto drove us expertly to and from Lucca. A lovely tour group, and a special day!

Everything was very well organised and Vittorio and Roberto were a great team. Although the ferries weren’t running that day, the train connections worked well and we really had a fantastic day in a beautiful part of the world. The information provided by Vittorio as guide was all very interesting.

An amazing well organised visit of 4 of the 5 Cinque Terre villages. Picked up by Roberto (driver) and Marta (tour leader). Expertly driven from Lucca to our first stop to pick up the first ferry. Marta was a mine of information on the history of Lucca and the Cinque Terre on the drive to the coast. Then Marta excellently made sure we made the transfers to each ferry to our final stop. Enough free time to explore and get a flavour of the villages. Would highly recommend this trip.

Great tour. Weather was windy so not able to take the ferry to all the stops. Rained at last stop which put a damper on the trip. Tour guide Vittorio was very good.

It was great experience. Lately I have been having trouble with my left hip and was able to walk to all the villages from the boat. Bring water, you can buy on the trip if needed.

The tour was amazing! Comfortable bus with very sensible driver 😉 We had stunning weather so we could take the ferry to each town which was a real highlight. Marta was the perfect guide - interesting, interested and relaxed. Thank you Marta! And the Cinque Terra are just so beautiful - highly recommend this tour even for a solo woman traveller 💛

It was a very nice day. The pick up in Lucca went smoothly, the drive to Cinque Terre was very pleasant, and then Marta led us to 3 towns by ferry. If you want a tour guide to lead you around the towns, this wouldn’t be the tour for you. This tour capably moves you from one location to another and then gives a good amount of free time in each location.

This trip is very well organized and very professional. I suggest that you book ahead as it sells out quickly. We booked maybe 3 days ahead but there was only one spot available so we were added to a waiting list and were able to get the reservation. If we had tried to do this area on our own, honestly, I think it would have been overwhelming. They pick you up on time, drop you right where you need to start and guide you, by ferry or train, between three of the villages. Good suggestions and clear information on meeting times/places. I’m very happy they were ably to accommodate us on short notice and that we had the chance to experience this beautiful area on our last day in Tuscany. If I have to find any suggestion, though, I do wish there was a bit more time in Vernazzo as 45 minutes didn’t allow for both shopping and seeing all the sites. I suggest you add an extra 30 minutes in vernazzo and just make the entire tour a little longer.

The company arrived promptly. The van was clean and comfortable. The driver was very proficient navigating the roads. Guide (Marta?) was informative and friendly. Her commentary, along the way, was knowledgeable. Her experience showed in adjusting the schedule based on conditions while giving enough time to explore.

Overall great. Would have enjoyed more history of these towns and how do folks live and go to school if they are year round residents. More background and stories.
