Disappointing Experience 👎🏻 Poor Communication and Service ☹️ We visited Villa Borghetta using a gift voucher that included a couple massage therapy. Unfortunately, from the moment we made the reservation, the experience was disappointing due to a complete lack of clear information. I strongly recommend asking all questions in advance, especially regarding parking, timing, and what is included. The place looks nice at first glance and on the photos, but it is not properly maintained. At reception, we had to wait about 30 minutes because the receptionist was on a phone call. As a result, we were late for our spa appointment, through no fault of our own. We were never informed that we needed to bring towels and slippers, nor that a spa kit could be rented for €10 per person. This information should be clearly communicated in advance. After a quick light lunch, we went to the spa area, where an Italian staff member told us we had to ask reception for the spa kit. We returned to reception and had to wait another 15-20 minutes. The male staff member assisting us was extremely slow and very rude. He blamed us for being late, even though the delays were entirely caused by their staff. He also questioned where we parked. We had parked at the entrance parking area, and he told us it was “for their clients.” We are clients. There are two parking areas, but we were never informed that spa guests had to use a different one. Since it is a single property with many parking spots at the entrance, his reaction felt unnecessary and unprofessional. As a hotel owner myself, I can confidently say that guest service should be handled much better than this. Because of the delay, the spa staff told us not to use the changing rooms and instead change inside the massage room, leaving our clothes and bags there. The staff member rushed us while we were changing, which made us uncomfortable. The hammam lasted only about 2 minutes per person and did not cover the full body. Afterward, we went to the changing room, where we discovered that lockers require €1, which again was not communicated in advance. I had to leave my locker open. The changing room itself was extremely small and uncomfortable. The Turkish bath had a strong unpleasant smell, and my skin started itching shortly after sitting on the bench. Due to the steam, it was hard to see, but it felt poorly cleaned. The showers smelled strongly of urine, which was unacceptable. We then tried the sauna and stayed only about 5 minutes because of the line. Afterward, we went to the indoor hydromassage pool. Although there were only a few people, the space is very small and felt overcrowded, so we decided not to enter. Overall, the experience was poorly organized, unhygienic, and unprofessional. Clear communication, cleanliness, and respectful customer service are essential.. unfortunately, Villa Borghetta failed in all three ☹️👎🏻

We don't often feel inclined to leave a bad review but our final 10 minutes ruined the one night stay and was the thing that pushed us to be completely honest. For a hotel with it's rating, they are missing a lot of basic services you would expect. The staff are either fantastic or rude. Nothing in-between. Those who are great are charismatic and friendly and we would imagine they have to work harder to make up for the other half who are rude. The spa is dirty, with slippery benches in the steam room. The steam room smells bad too, like damp oats. One of the treatment showers is also dirty and in disrepair with clear signs of disrepair in the ceiling and showerhead. Massage rooms had oily floors. For the amount of people staying, the spa does not accomodate the amount of guests. One of the spa workers was rude when we asked for larger towels, not looking up from her phone. (The two masseuse we had in the morning were wonderful and one of the positives from the stay). Instant ice tea is served hot in the spa in children's plastic cups. No water. Daytime the music is also....not suitable for a hotel that brands itself as a spa and wellness retreat. Whilst I personally enjoy pop hits from the early 2000s to today, it's not the atmosphere you'd expect when you come out of a relaxing massage. There was no tea or coffee facilities in our room. If you ask for one outside of breakfast or lunch hours, you will be treated as an inconvenience despite not been near a bar and having any other option. After we checked out, we had a half hour wait for our taxi so we wanted to have a coffee. It was after breakfast but tea making facilities were out so helped ourselves to the SELF SERVE tea. A staff member came out to tell us that we should have asked for it and we were not allowed to help ourselves to the, again, SELF SERVE tea. When we then collected our bags, we were then charged for said self serve. Despite paying for all inclusive, you are still charged coperto for dinner. There were sticky white marks on our bathroom floor. Ick. The hairdryer worked intermittently and was a bit dodge. We bumped into other guests in the hotel and they noticed us carrying the hairdryer that we borrowed from reception and they said that their hairdryer was also broken. The bottle opener in the mini fridge is also chained down......what are they presuming of their guests if they are so sensitive about a bottle opener? Having read recent reviews, the good ones all seem to be from local guides and so we expect that these are staff members who have been told to leave reviews because the local guides and other guests reviews are significantly different. I wish we had paid more attention to the reviews before booking. The good stuff is that the dinner is really good and the chef and our waiter were great. The hotel is beautiful and there is a friendly cat who visits at breakfast which was a highlight. I'd recommend going to the hotel for a nice dinner. Anything else, not worth it. We've stayed in hotels which were less stars, half the price and the service and value for money were exceptionally better. Last words - sorely disappointing and not a reflection of Italian hospitality. Avoid and save your money. First time in my life, I've felt inclined to ask for money back.
Romantic Tuscan villa with magnificent views of the valley and pool in an olive garden. You shouldn't expect luxury and impeccable cleanliness, but there is enough of a romantic mood. Everything is quite worn and many places could use some repair and updating, but overall it's still in tolerable condition. The pool is surrounded by olive trees. The pool is not very big, but big enough to swim a little. There aren't many sunbeds right by the pool, but there are plenty of sunbeds further out in the olive trees. From time to time, the horsefly attacked quite actively, especially when you got out of the pool while wet, but this problem is everywhere in rural areas. There is also a small SPA on site, with an indoor pool and saunas, but this indoor pool is not big enough to swim in. For breakfast, both salty and sweet food is offered, but the selection is quite small and the better pastries are only enough for the first ones, they are not brought any more later. Ready-made pot coffee is poor, but you can also order freshly made machine coffee, but it wasn't the best either. The dinner was good, but based on the previous very positive reviews, I expected more. The staff was pleasantly friendly. We didn't really like the first room, it was a good size and had a spacious bathroom, but compared to the advertised pictures it was rather modest in finish and I didn't like the handicap sink. The next day the room was changed and we really liked the new room, although the bathroom was extremely small. Parking is in the garden below, and it is very inconvenient to go up the narrow stairs on the hillside with suitcases, but for this, drive up to the reception door at the beginning and park the car downstairs after unloading your luggage. About 15 minutes drive from the highway. The famous The Mall outlet is also about 15 minutes drive away. As a compliment, drinking water in the room would have been very welcome. There was no possibility to make tea and coffee in the room.
I have been there with my friend for a morning at the spa after purchasing a daily entrance online. Unfortunately at our arrival we haven’t been welcomed so friendly as we could expect. The service at the reception was quite dismissive and incredibly slow to let us in. The service at the spa instead was great. We had a nice full body scrub made by one of the masseuse. She is a great person and made us feel really comfortable. The facilities could use some cleaning though. The sauna ceiling was full of spiderwebs for example. Best thing in my opinion is the jacuzzi room with view over the hills.
If you are tired or need to relax..here is a good choice for you. I and my husband go there every year for our wedding anniversary 💗 There are many kinds of massage courses which we can do it in a same room. We also took some courses too. Some was perfect, some was so so. By the way, staffs are nice and friendly. Besides the above, We enjoyed with the big jacuzzi, sauna room, emotions shower room and beautiful outdoor pool. We spent all day there. We took a dinner there too. It's sooo romantic because the view in front of you and every dish has a unique flavour. There was only one thing that needs to be improved, the food is not served continuously, quite slow, waiting a little long time, especially dessert. Surely we enjoyed with the view but between the second dish and a dessert ... We waited more than 30 minutes. It's too slow especially when we were tired from a spa.
