Our wedding day was everything we could have hoped for! Every single guest told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and will ever go to. La Corte dei Papi stood out immediately as they were the fastest to reply, the most thorough with information, and the most organised from the very first email. When we visited for the tour, we were completely blown away. The gardens are breathtaking, every space has its own character, and the bedrooms are so grand that our guests each thought they had been put in the bridal suite at check in when they were just the standard rooms! Sara, our wedding planner, is wonderful. Responses were always prompt, thorough and thoughtful, and she treated our wedding as far more than just a job, you could feel how much she wanted the day to go well for us. That care means everything. The planning process had its stressful moments. There were times we felt we had to fight for things we had assumed were straightforward, which led to some sleepless nights. Some of this may come down to differences between UK expectations and Italian wedding standards, or language barriers. My strongest piece of advice to any couple: read your contract extremely carefully before signing or paying your deposit. Make sure you fully understand the terms around external suppliers, drinks packages, and what is and isn't included (for example, the night ends when the bar closes so you have to pay for additional hours is something that might not be immediately obvious, but can add thousands to your budget). The day itself: The venue is stunning: the ceremony garden, the pool area for cocktail hour, the dining hall, the little gardens dotted throughout. You genuinely do not need to leave the venue for couple photos; every corner is gorgeous. And Sara and the team delivered on the day: it was windy so they adapted. It was hot so they adapted. A last-minute idea to move the dinner candles outside transformed the evening atmosphere into something magical and romantic. The dining hall was laid out beautifully, the ceremony chairs and layout were perfect, and the little personal touches like our custom stirrers placed in every glass were noticed and loved. The food is outstanding. Guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. The buffets had incredible variety (the meat sandwiches were the standout, I only wish I had time to try more!), the wedding breakfast was beautifully cooked, and the cake was both stunning and genuinely delicious. The team also catered thoughtfully for gluten-free and meat-free guests with lovely alternatives. A couple of things around food and drink service on the day to consider: - Buffet dishes were not labelled on either evening, which caused confusion for guests with dietary requirements. - Breakfast table service is slow; some people were waiting half an hour for a coffee and I didn't even realise hot breakfast was available until the second day - so I didn't eat properly on the wedding day. so just schedule extra time than you think for breakfast. There is of course room service if you don't have the time. - Drinks service during dinner was slower than we had hoped so glasses were left empty for long stretches, and by the end of the evening there were long queues at the bar. If you have a large guest list, it is worth discussing additional bar staffing or a second bar station during the planning stage. These are things that can absolutely be resolved and the team are clearly capable so just make sure you have the conversation in advance. In summary: We had the best day of our lives at La Corte dei Papi, and we will treasure every memory of it forever. The venue is extraordinary, Sara and her team genuinely care, and the on-the-day experience was overwhelmingly beautiful. Go in with clear communication, read everything carefully, and ask every question and you will have a wedding that your guests will talk about for the rest of their lives

My husband and I just walked in for dinner as place was suggested by Google. What followed was a culinary experience no Less than a 2 Michelin star. Dining area between a Victorian style garden and pool with weather at a perfect 75deg. Plates and silverware were pieces of art and my three courses were innovative as well as classic Tuscan. David lead us into the hotel, helped with charging our phone and made up so comfortable in spite of not being hotel guests. He even helped connect us to a driver as well as kept in touch afterwards. Waitress who was of Asian descend was also very skilled and personable. I rarely write reviews but had to kudos this property.
Stunning accommodations that take you back in time while offering the latest in luxury and in suite pampering. In room oversized jet tub, unique specialty sauna/shower were a stand out. We enjoyed the in hotel breakfast and outstanding fine dining. Limited menu, but they do it well. David, proprietor is eighth generations on land is charming and fully engaged with guests and the business. It is a place you will find peaceful and inviting. Only 10 minutes from Cortona. We will return.
For our honeymoon, we dreamed of staying in the Tuscan countryside at a beautiful villa with exceptional service. At Relais La Corte dei Papi, we got everything we wanted and more. While planning our trip, we noticed several reviews mentioning that the owner, David, is the secret weapon of this property—and after our stay, we could not agree more. He was warm, attentive, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making every guest’s experience special. His hospitality is a big part of what makes this place so memorable. The property itself is stunning. From the moment we arrived, the fragrance of roses from the lush gardens set the tone for a peaceful and romantic week in Tuscany. Every corner of the estate feels thoughtfully designed and impeccably maintained. The food was another highlight. Dinner was certainly a splurge, but it was absolutely worth it—every dish was beautifully prepared and delicious. We also loved the wines produced by the estate and were thrilled to bring a few bottles home with us as a reminder of our stay. Relais La Corte dei Papi was everything we hoped our Tuscan villa experience would be and more. We left relaxed, well-fed, and already talking about when we might return.
We just returned from a 3 week honeymoon in Italy which required a LOT of planning. I normally am not one to leave a review, but we relied so heavily on them to plan our trip so I wanted to share my experience to hopefully help someone else out. :) This was the third stop of our trip. And if I had to describe this hotel, I'd say it's like a luxury bed and breakfast in the rolling hills of Tuscany. The property is gorgeous and the staff was very accommodating. However, be aware, this hotel is not walking distance to really anything so you will either need a car or will need to hire a taxi or a driver to get anywhere. We ended up paying over $75 in 1 day just to get to and from the town of Cortona which is about a 10 min car ride away. Also, when we were there in April, I think we were 2 of maybe 6 guests on property. It felt almost eerily quiet. This is definitely not a hotel that you would come to for the fun atmosphere. Its more of a relaxing, luxury, and romantic get away. The staff does a nice job to help coordinate any plans / logistics that are needed. And I would highly recommend making plans for each day that you are there. We really enjoyed the wine tour that they coordinated for us. I do want to give a special shoutout to the food because the breakfast and dinner that we had were always fantastic! However, be mindful that that their kitchen is closed on Monday nights and so are many of the local restaurants. We found ourselves in a bit of a predicament after our wine tour, so we had to have our driver bring us to a grocery store to get some food. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Just do your homework before hand so that your stay can be as enjoyable as possible!
