Of the many times I’ve been to Florence, this was the second time I’ve stayed at the Palazzo D’Oltrarno. It’s absolutely wonderful. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean, very quiet, the air conditioning works really well, and the people at the reception are always friendly and very helpful. It wasn’t my last time there.
This was very convenient in terms of position, and lovely and cool. Our rooms however were not like the pictures. They were very clean and the beds were comfortable, but no murals in either room, and they were rather tired. A bit of a disappointment really. We had booked quite a longtime ago too.
The rooms look beautiful with the high ceilings and frescoes, however, the pillows are pancake thin and the bed is uncomfortable. For the amount paid for accomodation, it would be a great improvement to invest in better pillows and mattresses. Location and service was good.
The location is perfect. Rooms and the staff of the hotel are elegant. Cozy rooms with upper quality materials of bedding. Safe and easy access to everything nearby as a tourist.
Just 15 minutes from the train station and within walking distance of the main sights around the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio bridge, it was the perfect place to stay. The neighborhood felt safe at night and was filled with local resident. The lady at check-in was extremely helpful, clearly explaining the keys and providing a comprehensive list of restaurant recommendations in the area, as well as local markets, places for breakfast and lunch, and even laundry services. Her friendliness and helpfulness were truly outstanding.
