The room is big and really cool but the attention is awful. No one answers the phone. We call at 6pm to let them know we where late and we will be arriving at 9pm. They told us it was fine and to call when we arrive. For over an hour we had to seat outside because no one would answer the phone. At the end they did answer and gave us a pass code to get in and chek in ourselves. Really sucks that but the room was nice and clean.

One should know that you have to climb some 80 steep steps (last floor). This with the luggage was quite if challenge. And than you enter the room in wich the temperature was 32 degrees, as the aircon wasn’t switched on. The air-condition itself could not overcome the heat - one hand outside was very hot, but I believe It is also too weak for this room. So, 2 days later the temperature inside dropped dramatically to 27 degrees. Staff was not very helpful - I asked for taxi, he said I have to arrange it myself and promised to send a tel number. It never happened. I asked for a company invoice - never received. Even not answered to my request. So all in all despite very good location pay attention when booking
A very peculiar hotel. I booked a suite and clearly stated in my reservation that I would like a room as close to the ground floor as possible since I was travelling with my dog. When booking, I understood that the reception would not be staffed 24/7. I checked in online the day before, uploaded a photo of my passport, and provided a great deal of personal information. Yet when I arrived, there was no staff on site, and I had to scan my passport all over again. The room was not really a suite—more like a large double room. It was also located on the top floor. The "room" is actually one of several rooms separated only by thin walls and connecting doors. I could clearly hear my neighbours, and whenever someone in the next room closed their door, my bed's headboard shook. The room is tastefully decorated, but it is cluttered with far too many decorative items. The bedside lamps do not work, and neither does the handheld shower. The air conditioning is seriously underpowered, leaving the room at around 28°C in the evening. Had I known that I would first have to climb two flights of stairs to reach the reception and then another two flights to get to my room, only to sleep in what felt like a sauna, I would have chosen a different hotel. How can they be a four-star hotel?
This space has the potential to be quite good, but it is poorly maintained and dishonestly marketed. The pics show a rooftop terrace. I don’t doubt it exists, but we have no access to it. The rooms say they have a “mini-bar.” This is simply not true. Not even so much as a cork screw or bottle opener. The management doesn’t return messages. I’d hate to think of getting locked out due to a lost card or technical failure. We’d be sleeping on a bench. The building has good potential. Just avoid it until management gets serious about how to treat their guests.
I chose this property for its excellent location in Lucca, which is truly its biggest advantage. The room itself was spacious and had a fridge and a nice bathroom with both a shower and tub. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match what was described. The website states there is a staffed reception and luggage assistance during certain hours, which is why I adjusted my arrival time. However, there was no staff on site at all. I had to call for entry instructions and carry two heavy suitcases up three steep flights of stairs on my own. The building has no lift, which I expected, but the description of “a flight or two of stairs” was not accurate. I never saw a staff member during my stay, and had to carry my luggage back down the stairs alone when leaving. The room was comfortable but stuffy, and the window did not open for fresh air. Most frustrating was checkout morning when the hot water stopped two minutes into my shower while I had shampoo in my hair. I called the support number with no answer and also sent a WhatsApp message, but never received any response. I ended up rinsing my hair in the sink. This property may work for younger travelers packing light who are comfortable with a fully self-service stay. For anyone expecting assistance, responsive support, or a more traditional hospitality experience, I would look elsewhere. I would have given "service" zero stars if possible.
