It was terrific with a very knowledgeable guide - would highly recommend.
Fabio is extremely knowledgeable in wine and chocolate. He combines this with his skills of tasting chocolate, meats and cheeses alongside good wine to give an entertaining and educational couple of hours. His task was made harder by the incredible heat being seen in Italy. We really enjoyed the session and had to try some more of the excellent Roero red wine after he'd left us in the atmospheric Bistrot Turin.
Really great session with the wonderful and friendly Fabio. Got a better understanding of Torinese history and culture, as well as a great overview of chocolate styles and production. Tasting experience was really special and Fabio's expertise really shone through!
Fabio was fabulous! He was knowledgeable and informative. He was engaging and all he wanted was to make sure we had the best experience possible. His wine and chocolate selections were amazing and top quality. He made us better understand the complexities of both. Our time with him was worth every penny and flew by. He was the perfect host and a must do if you’re in Turin!
We had our tasting with fabio. He was kind, open for questions and interessted in tailoring the tasting to us. Do inform him if you are vegitarie, so he can replace the meat with something fitting. He even suggested restaurants and spots to visit. 10/10
I had such an amazing experience at the chocolate and wine tasting! It ended up being just me on the tour thanks to some cancellations from other groups, so I learned a lot! Fabio was an amazing tour guide and I am happy to have gotten recommendations for other places around Turin that I didn't expect. Grazie Fabio!
Fabio was an excellent guide - very knowledgeable and an amazing teacher. It was a unique experience to better understand and taste the chocolate and wine in new, mindful ways. Highly recommend!
Loved the side trip to the very old pharmacy. Guide was terrific and I found the whole experience to be great. Both the wines and the chocolate were unexpected, and very exciting.
Nice relaxing walk through the plaza, followed by the chocolate and wine tasting. The guide was very knowledgeable and super pleasant about n his presentation. Definitely worth the price, both in $ and in time. And the white wine that was presented was really remarkable.
We had an amazing time with Fabio, our incredible guide! He’s studied at the Slow Food University, and knew all the finer points about chocolate tasting, wine tasting, and food pairings. We took this tour early on in our trip, and I am so glad we did! Not only did Fabio give us a wonderful tour, he also supplied us with fabulous restaurant recommendations. Every place he recommended was delicious, and had impeccable service. This tour was more than worth the price we paid!
We tasted a nice selection of chocolate with my 11 yo son. We both were pleased. Extremely kind and professional host, who was at the same time friendly and funny. His selection was very good, especially the last part with the chocolates all over the world (which honestly I came for). My little one, in contrary, liked the Turin's selection more. Anyway, each one of us found his perfect bite over there. Thank you for the lovely experience!
Fabio was so knowledgeable about the chocolate and wine. He made this such a great experience. Would recommend this tour for anyone.
I’ve eaten chocolate all my life but learned so much about the layers of flavors and what influences their changes. This was fun and interesting. Never had someone break down the taste experience quite so well.
Very fun and informative. Fabio our guide was incredibly nice and very good at explaining all the nuances of chocolate.
This was a very intentionally curated and thorough dive into the wine and chocolate scene of Turin, and included its bits of history and fun facts that were catered to my specific interests. Fabio was amazing, a wealth of information, and very personable. He also very graciously and thoroughly answered questions I had.
Interesting in depth chance to taste very good wines and chocolates from the region, with a very knowledgeable and friendly host
Fabio was an excellent guide. He helped me appreciate the flavors of fine chocolate and taught me how to taste the different effects various cheeses and meats can have on a fine wine. I highly recommend this ‘tour’.
This was a fantastic small group experience, I tasted chocolate and wine like a connoisseur, and learned so much about both, as well as very thoughtfully and expertly prepared cheese and meats paring to accentuate the experience. Fabio our guide was very knowledgeable and informative, he also gave history and insight about the city of Turin, and ensured a great experience. Highly recommend! Do not miss this experience! It is well worth it!
Leonardo was an engaging and informative guide with a lovely relaxed attitude. Nothing was too much trouble. Lots of good food and nice wine tasting at the end
This was one of the highlights of our week in Turin. Fabio, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the selection of wines, chocolates, cheeses, and meats was great! We learned a lot and really enjoyed our time. Would highly recommend.
The Torino food tour was a first time experience for me, and it went really great ! Thanks to Fabio, I’ve learned to properly taste chocolate and wine saviors, and learn more about the city.
Fabio is very knowledgeable about food and wine, and it was a very interesting tasting experience with chocolate, wine, and some meats and cheese.
Fabio was not only our guide but also a gastronomic expert and a sommelier. His knowledge of the chocolate, wine and food pairing was quite impressive. Very nice laid-back tour, which we definitely recommend.
We had an amazing time with Fabio as a passionate guide. He knows a lot about chocolate and wine. It was excellent, small group, highly recommended.
Fabio took us along to some landmarks around the Piazza and brought up history facts regarding them. It was very interesting, we wouldn’t have known about it otherwise. We tasted different types of chocolates, cheeses and meats paired with a red and a white wine. It was super informative and interesting, but the vibes were laidback which we really appreciated as we had never done something like this before. We had a blast and learned a lot. We ended up purchasing the wines and the chocolates for our loved ones back home as well. Definitely a fun idea if you have a free afternoon in Turin!
My wife and I lucked out and were the only two on the tour. We had a blast! Fabio was an extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about chocolate, food and wine. He also easily accommodated the tour for vegetarians.
This was an amazing tour, absolutely worth the money and Fabio was so lovely and knowledgeable! You get to taste endless amounts of chocolate! The wine, cheese and ham were so tasty!
Informative and enjoyable tour in a relaxed atmosphere. The chocolate tasting was clearly a highlight with a magnitude of varieties and plenty of samples. The wine and food pairing was balanced and enjoyable but somewhat limited in quantity. Our guide Fabio did an excellent job in a warm and energetic manner. I would rate this tour highly and recommend it on a visit to Turin.
We were able to try several different chocolates and the guide was extremely knowledgeable about chocolate types, the Bicerin at the beginning was the best we had tasted throughout our stay. Lastly we had a wine, cheese and ham pairing that was tasty and again the guide knew all about different tastes and smells. I would suggest to take a bottle of water with you especially for the chocolate tasting as I found my palette needed cleaning between each tasty as some were very strong.
The bicherin and chocolate were lovely and the wines/cheese/ham delicious. I think what made the tour so good for us (my mum and I) though was the information provided by Federico on Italian history, politics, wine and in fact anything we wanted to discuss. His English was fantastic and the anecdotes and breadth of knowledge made this a really enjoyable part of our time in Turin.
We enjoyed trying all kinds of chocolate and tasting wine with a fantastic guide. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and provided great information to make the chocolate and wine tasting unforgettable.
Friendly, easy, knowledgeable and enjoyable guide Fredricko toured the chocolate and wine highlights of Torino. Amazing!
Fabio was excellent. Very knowledgeable and fun. Brought us to perfect locations for the tour in my opinion
This was a very pleasant tour, all the members in our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our guide Fabeo was excellent! Fabio was very nice and very knowledgable about Turin and its wine and chocolate. We also spent time with and expert chocolatier. We then had some beautiful meats and cheeses to pair with the wine tasting. I would highly recommend this tour
I liked that I didn’t have to search out the places though it could be done without a tour . Also I ended up being the only participant and was surprised it didn’t get cancelled so the reason for 4 stars . Otherwise I felt it was overpriced for what was received . 3 small chocolate pieces in 2 shops and I glass of white and red wine . And a small meat and cheese plate .
Event if it was rainy, we spend a very enjoyable afternoon in Turin: the group was small and very funny, with some people from United States, UK and Mexico and it was very nice to share stories and experiences with these people, the passion for Italian food and wine immediately created a great bond between us. We tried some local and artisanal chocolate shops, truly delicious. We concluded, after walking through the streets of Turin, where the guide showed us the major historical attractions of the city. with a fabulous tasting of regional wines with excellent cured meats and cheeses. The guide was really nice and very knowledgable about history, food and wine. Highly Recommended!.
A wonderful time with Fabian enjoying chocolate and drinking wine! A very knowledgeable host who can answer any question you have about food and drink. A very lovely guy too. A good variety of chocolate flavours and a great introduction to the Turin chocolate scene.
An informative tour of chocolate specialities in Torino and topped off with a stop at a wine bar for a tasting paired with snacks.
Surprisingly the chocolate experience was terrific. Fabio was a great host with wine and chocolate. A very enjoyable experience.
Fabio was an absolutely fantastic tour guide for us. What better way to spend your vacation than learning all about the birthplace of chocolate and the history behind it. You will be amazed to learn all the amazing ways they make chocolate and all the origins it can come from, all the ways they harvest it, grow it and produce it, it is absolutely fascinating information to learn about and not information I think the average person even considers until they hear all there is to learn about chocolate! Our final destination was a beau shop named Chocolate7, The store owner Giovanni, is a walking encyclopedia expert about everything chocolate. You will not find a more kind and generous man in Torino as you will in Giovanni. Truly, this tour was one of the best memories we made while here in Torino. Please book before you miss a reservation!
We had a nice tour guide who took us to 3 places; two chocolate shops and a restaurant. The only great part of the tour was meeting the other people on the tour. Otherwise, just Google chocolate shops and you'll get the same experience walking around.
Tour started with a traditional Bicerin on the Piazza San Carlo, which is about as Turin as you can get. From there we headed to two different chocolatiers, with a tasting of fine chocolates of the world a genuinely unique experience, before finishing up with a regional wine tasting accompanied by cold meats and regional cheeses. Our guide Fabio was enthusiastic and knowledgeable throughout, and fluent in translating the local foodies we visited into English. He was also willing to recommend other places to eat while you stay in Turin, and even make bookings on your behalf if your Italian is rusty. We went with a morning start (10.30am) so coffee followed by lots of chocolate followed by wine, breads, meat and cheeses left us full for the day and ready to face an afternoon of sightseeing. Overall, a really good experience, and something different given the strong emphasis on connoisseur chocolate.
In June, we enjoyed a fantastic chocolate tour in Turin with Slow Travel. We were lucky to be the only ones on our tour, allowing us to interact closely with our very nice and knowledgeable guide. The variety of chocolates we tasted was impressive, and the highlight was definitely the Bicerin, a delicious local specialty. Highly recommended for chocolate lovers!
Our guide was friendly and informative and adjusted the pace for us (we were joining the tour with a baby). We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend to any other families.
We had a wonderful time on this tour, not only was it very tasty, with the bicerin, chocolates, wine and local cheeses and charcuterie but our guide Fabio was very informative and super friendly.. we highly recommend taking this wonderful tour.
Had a great tour with Fabio and 2 locals. Lots of extra interesting tidbits. Food and drinks were great. The wine stop was a bit of a hidden gem!
Our guide Fabio was great! He is a foddie and a sommelier. We had a wonderful experience today. We had a chance to taste delicious chocolate and nice Piemontese wine. Definitely a must do!
Had a fun tour in a small group. Got to try chocolates and drink a glass of red and a glass of white wine. Eating focaccia and another chickpea based bread was a bonus. The tour included some history of Turin and a few other stops but I did expect more from an expensive tour. No regrets, and a nice alternative to all the excellent museums and other activities. Was a little disappointed that we didn't get to try a coffee and chocolate drink at one of the shops which gave us some pieces of chocolate as a consolation. We went back the next morning when the guide advised us to but they were closed.
It was such a great tour. We tried many different foods and chocolates and learnt about some of the history of Turin. It was myself and one other lady with a brand new guide - we were her first ever tour. She was so knowledgable and engaging. Turin has so much to offer and this tour really helps you cover a lot if you only have a short trip.
