Itinerary
Your guide will meet you at the entrance of the Royal Palace to lead you through the history and architecture of the Savoy's home, kings of Italy until 1946.
You will see the wonderful Rotyal Armoury, which holds a great collection of weapons and renaissance and oriental armours, exhibited at the Galleria Beaumont
One interesting detail of the Royal Palace is that it is connected with Cappella della Sindone. This is the final stop of your tour.

To say we were on time, would to say that we were 10 minutes, late, but not our guide, Francesca. She was standing there awaiting our arrival and after introductions and a couple of quick interest questions, we were off. Francesca did a great job communicating, keeping us on pace and coordinating with other tours to get us in and out without delay. Her passion we truly felt and more so when she got to see the latest addition to the collection in the royal palace. Her excitement was contagious and it stayed with us throughout the tour. We cannot recommend this tour with Francesca enough.
Carlotta was a great guide, a real historian, fun, energetic and very local. The tour last 2 hours and is comprehensive without being laborious
Francesca was a superb guide Vast wealth of knowledge and presented the palace with great enthusiasm .
The 2 hour tour with Francesca was awesome. She spoke English well and was very knowledgeable of all the tour details. She made sure to maximize our time in the areas that were of the most interest for us.
The guide was great. She pointed out many interesting things that might have otherwisw escaped my attention and was very knowledgeable of historical facts. She customized the tour to my interests. Definitely recommend
She was very knowledgeable on all the details about the palace and history of Turin. Sensitive to my mobility issues, stopping to rest as needed, and seeing a magnificent palace and the chapel for the shroud.
The guide was amazing! We learned a lot of history and other interesting details about the Savoy family along the tour Unfortunately, the armory room was closed for restoration and we didn’t know this when we reserved
Eugenio, our guide, was very knowledgeable and passionate. He helped bring to life the history of the Savoy royalty, the architecture, and the context of the paintings and relics. The Holy Shroud is not exposed. You will see the beautiful chapel and the box where the shroud is kept.
Valentina was an incredible guide. She was so knowledgeable- this was a next level experience because of her
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire tour. Our ability to interact with her, ask questions and rearrange the timing of some of the stops was a real plus as we had other commitments that afternoon. Loved it!
Francesca was an incredible guide - friendly, personable, efficient and extremely knowledgeable. Fielded and expertly answered lots of questions, never let the tour lag in any way. 5 stars!
The palace and history is amazing - our tour guide was brilliant - we learned so much about the family and how the palace changed hands
Francesca was friendly, personable, and extremely knowledgeable! She tailored our tour to what we were most interested in and the overall experience was great :)
Had the best tour guide. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Took the time to point out every little detail. Truly made the experience delightful and entertaining. He was able to answer every question.
Ask for Sofia first and foremost. The tour was visually spectacular and historically significant in many ways. The palace itself is a viewer’s delight - very close up viewing of the artifacts and treasures. Great experience!
Our guide was knowledgeable and attentive. The place beautiful and so much to see. We enjoyed the tour and experience but in hindsight would probably done just as well on our own with maps and reading material. Definitely worth doing guide probably not required.
The guide we took Alessio was amazing. He knew everything about the Savoy monarchy including all of the small details. Furthermore he know how to put the information into perspective. When we entered the palace he told us the history as if the king were waiting for us. This was crucial as there were so many rooms one needed to pass to view the king. The tour guide took his time with us and explained everything so we could understand everything. Thank you so much Alessio. Just a FYI for anybody visiting Turin: you need at least 1 week. We plan on coming back to book Alessio and visit all of the palazzos.
Really enjoyed the Guide. Would have love to hear more the history of the Rulers and the Savoy family, how they came to be, etc.
We had such a fantastic time! We didn't know what to anticipate for the tour, but we were so happy we did this! Our guide was AMAZING--knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Her English speaking skills were strong, and she even customized the experience for us, as I had a keen interest in the Holy Shroud. So she made sure we spent a lot of time in the Chapel and even directed us to where we could see a replica and where the original is now kept. This was worth the cost, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Turin.
too expenseive ,not worth, agency cost is only entrance tickets and 90- minutes tour guide ,our family 2 adults,4 children ,2 infants,we have to pay nearly 800 dollars
Fantastic, fun, insightful. This is a must for seeing and understanding the Savoy Dynasty, the Shroud of Turino, and even Roman life in the city! Excellent tour guide. Knowledgeable and interesting presentation.
Our guide Alex was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating to my challenged back. The tour was a little over two hours and it was only us!
Francesca is an excellent guide and tailored the tour as per our time constraints. She was well informed, courteous and accommodating. Our daughter was feeling weak and she helped her find places to sit as much as possible during the tour. The shroud itself was hidden of course and we really do not know about its being genuine but the Palace is interesting too.
Absolutely wonderful tour with Sofia - we learned so many new things that we would not have know. My son is an avid history buff and the look on his face when he learned new facts was priceless! The tour was very accommodating for my brother who was in a wheelchair. Sofia spoke excellent English and told the story and history of the Royal family beautifully
My guide Sophia was a knowledgeable, charming and witty And I had a great experience The palace as well, or seen an asset, magnificent Armory and gun
Francesco offered us a delightful tour full of interesting historical details about the Royal Palace and the different characters that lived there over the years. He is passionate about his job and that translated in a memorable experience for us.
Our guide was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and helpful. She moved at our pace and was happy to answer all of our many questions. Really really well done!
The brand of a strong industrial center was for us a reason to postpone a touristic visit to Torino. We were wrong: Torino is more than FIAT and Juventus. We discovered a historical chapter not only of Italy but of the whole region of Piemont and Provence. And if we add the splendid stay we had in the Principi di Piemonte hotel (we hope Djokovic will stay in the same room we got!) assisted by its very professional staff we think that anyone having experienced a visit like ours will do it again. At least, we we'll do for sure and lunch again in the Eataly restaurant in via Lagrange, enjoying the friendly and professionnal service of Mattia, a talented and ambitious guy from Puglia region. We wish him good luck to realise his plans for the future!
We had a wonderful learning experience on this tour with our guide, Stella. She was super knowledgeable and friendly.
Patrizia was our guide for the Royal Palace tour and Shroud Chapel. We found her to be amazing. Not only was she able to rearrange her schedule to accommodate our new start time, but she was very knowledgeable and well informed about the Royal Palace and its history. Thank you again, Bea and Patrizia, for your accommodations, understanding, and kindness.
The tour was excellent! Wow!! Truly an unbelievable palace! Enjoyed learning more about the Savoy royals from Marco . The chapel of the Shroud touches your soul . Great tour. Marco, our guide was very knowledgeable and fun too.
Valentina did a thorough and expert job with highlights and back story history! She imparted a wealth of knowledge
The tour was personal and informative. The guide, Carlo, had very good historical knowledge and spoke excellent English. He let us go through at our own pace and you could tell he loved what he did.
Excellent tour . Our tour guide was so knowledgeable. One of the best tours I have been on . Highly recommend
You can visit the gardens without paying. To visit the inside of the palace you are required to buy a ticket. The palace is very opulent and indulgent and beautifully decorated and so much to take in. My husband found the armoury room very interesting.
Not a good experience, too expensive for what it is offered, it would be better to go on my own. I don’t recommend this tour
Francesca was fantastic She new how to steer us through and provided history and context It was a perfect experience
Patrizia provided our party with one of the very best tours I've ever taken anywhere! She was prompt and very kind. She allowed us to ask as many questions as we had and had answers for them. The best part of her presentations were how she gave us so many interesting and fun details that we would have gotten just reading the informative plaques throughout the tour. Her English was impeccable so there was nothing lost in translation. I would HIGHLY recommend not only this tour (which was very worthwhile) but I would MOST STRONGLY recommend asking for Patrizia to lead you through it!!
We (two couples) went on this private tour. Marco had a great sense of humor which made learning all the history fun!
Great couple of hours learning a lot from a very experienced guide who told us life’s about Italian history
This a guided tour of the Royal Palace and it was an excellent experience. The Armoury is the best collection and display I have seen compared to the Madrid and Wein collections I saw before. There were just a few of us so it made the tour less distracting with more information shared by the guide.
Highly recommended :) we were guided by Marco and he was so informative and engaging! His passion shows through his guiding ! Ask for him, no less.
From the time we arrived at the gates of this impressive palace we knew we were in for a treat! Our guide was waiting for us and we were on our way to the inside of this magnificent place! Palace was built in the 16 th century for the Savoy family in the baroque style.Room after room, there is no shortage of opulence! Sparkling chandeliers in the ball room and a Chinese room built for a royal marriage filled with a collection of Chinese vases.Dining room with table set had the feeling that a banquet was about to take place! The armoury room is filled with stuffed horses and an amazing collection of armour! Even Napoleon’s sword used in Egypt is on display! We were shown The chapel of the Holy Shroud which was built to house the famous Holy Shroud of Turin! It is connected to the Palace. Our guide was excellent and explained all the history of this beautiful place in detail.Palace is a UNESCO world heritage site .We were also shown the Royal library that contains over 2000 drawings and important collection of manuscripts. This tour was one of the best tours I have ever been on and was well worth it! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of this palace and highly recommend it when visiting Turin!
Stella was pleasant, knowledgeable and patient answering our many questions about the history of the palace and the politics of Italy through the years. Well done and thanks!
This was a great tour experience. We were able to see quite a bit at the Royal Palace, Holy Shroud Chapel & Armoury in a handful of hours - yet the tour did not seem rushed at all. Our tour guide, Carlo, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
The tour was excellent and the guide was outstanding and very informative. Going out of her way to answer questions and taking us the next step to show us more things in the tour. She did a great jov!
The Royal Palace tour is definitely worth the time & money. Our guide Francesca was extremely knowledgeable & informative. Her English was excellent. The highlights of our tour were the church where the shroud is kept ( even though it’s not actually there) & the Royal Armoury. Book your tour, you won’t be disappointed!
This palace is simply not to be missed. It is incredibly beautiful and fascinating in its architectural details. We were lucky in that we were able to see the private apartments of the Royal family which aren’t open all the time. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable and made sure we got to see as much as possible.
Our guide, Carlo Reale, was amazing. His knowledge of the history of the Palace is in depth but he is able to make it come alive and weave what was and why it was to how it matters today in the everyday day life of Torino. He is funny and engaging and answers every question allowing us to be highly interactive. His passion for the restoration of the Guarini chapel and his presentation took our breath away at the sheer majesty of the room. If you want a tour that doesn’t disappoint book this tour and ask for Carlo!
