We had a great time with our guide Arturo. Swimming in the cenote was amazing after the visit to Tulum. We were able to bring our whole group of 15 people and they allowed our 4 year old to go on the tour and swim.

Our experience was fabulous! Enrique was our driver and did a great job. Arturo was our tour guide and was super friendly and knowledgeable! We learned so much at the Tulum Ruins and there were absolutely beautiful views. The cenote swim was also really fun and a great way to cool off. They provided everything we needed and having a private experience made it even better!
Had an amazing experience. The Tulum tour was fascinating and the views were incredible. The cenote was the highlight and so much fun! Arturo was an excellent guide thank you Arturo & Rodrigo!
Joshua was an excellent guide. The ruins offered fascinating insight regarding the Mayan culture, and Joshua gave us a solid overview. He was very knowledgeable, ready to dive deeper with any question. The cenote was a perfect followup to the heat of the ruins tour- refreshing, cool, and naturally beautiful. Swimming in the cenote was absolutely a highlight of the trip.
This excursion was magical, definitely the highlight of our week in Riviera Maya. Our driver Ivan was so lovely, and our guide Joshua was just the best - down to earth, knowledgeable, engaged and engaging, and very patient with our 6 and 8 yr old kiddos! We got to Tulum right when it opened (I think we were the first people in!) which was perfect because it was already quite hot. Joshua shared so much interesting history, was happy to answer all our questions, and helped us find great spots for memorable pictures. What I appreciated about this tour as opposed to most of the other companies I was looking at, was that you are given several different cenotes to choose from, so you can figure out which one(s) are closest to what you're looking for. We wanted one open lagoon-type one and one cave-type underground one, so we did Nicte Ha and Taak Bi Ha. They did not disappoint!!! Both were beyond magical, and we all had the most amazing time floating around and exploring. We all loved both cenotes, but my 8you particularly loved Nicte Ha (and jumping in!) and my 6yo really loved Taak Bi Ha. Joshua was so wonderful - patient, helpful, and informative, which also giving space for our family to enjoy our time together. Ivan was also so kind and helped our kiddos with their wetsuits! We were on the fence about whether to do the lunch or not, but I'm so glad we did! The food was great (especially in comparison to the all-inclusive resort we were staying at) but the vibe was even better. So laid-back, with hammocks and swings that our kids got such a kick out of. I can't say enough good things about our day, it is definitely something we will remember for a long time!
We had a great experience with Arturo as our guide going to Tulum, Jaguar Cenote, and Akumal. Our driver Ivan did a great job as well! I’d highly recommend them and would definitely use this company in the future.
Juan, Dulce, & Eddy were our tour guides and they were excellent. Very fun, informative, and considerate
This was the perfect way to see the ruins and visit a cenote in a half day. Our guide, Dulce, did a great job explaining while keeping us moving along at a good pace. She gave us three options for the cenote and we ended with a delicious lunch. A perfect way to see some Tulum highlights if you have limited time.
My sister, my daughter, and I had a girls trip to the riviera Maya. This was our second private tour we booked with this company. Both were amazing and this one was closer to our resort. Our driver was friendly and professional, and our guide Dulce was very knowledgeable and experienced while guiding us through the Tulum ruins and through a cave cenote ( pet cemetery). They provided a nice ride and plenty of drinks while also providing wet suits and life jackets for the cenote. I think my sis and I were a bit intimidated by the cold water in the dark cave but Dulce made us feel safe. They gave us waterproof flashlights too! The water is so clear and those beautiful stalagmites are worth seeing! You kind of float around the cenote. Tulum was beautiful and the history was amazing. This group is a great team and very reasonable prices too for private tours!! Don’t forget to tip 15 to 20%!! They earn it. The times they give you are accurate and we are so happy we did both tours. Our other one was to chichen itsa. I highly recommend this tour company and this tour!!
Christina and her driver were a perfect team. We learned so much from Christina about the tons and Mayan culture. Highly recommend and ask for Christina
This tour was great for my family - it was just the 4 of us. Eduardo & Yosmar picked us up at our hotel on time. Eduardo gave us lots of information about Mexico’s history while driving to Tulum. It was nice to have a private tour, we could go at our own pace & ask questions along the way. Eduardo was an excellent guide! And thanks to Yosmar’s advice we were able to have an amazing experience at the Cenote! Would recommend this tour!
Cristina was a wonderful tour guide and José was a great driver! Highly recommend them!
A private tour is worth the extra cost. We never waited in any lines since they knew the best timing for arrival. Arturo was an excellent guide at Tulum and the Cenote. He was entertaining, knowledgeable and professional. Our driver Hugo safely took us to each place in a comfortable, clean van. Our group of 6 enjoyed every moment.
We had an amazing day visiting Tulum and swimming in a cenote with a marvelous taco lunch in the jungle and our expert guide Josh. If you enjoy history, not dealing with mobs of large tour groups, and want a memorable trip in the cenote caves we highly recommend Josh and Hugo with absolute adventure private tour. They were on time, shared the beauty of this region and made for our group of 4 a five star experience. Thank you
Arturo was an amazing guide and highly recommend him! He was very informative during the Mayan ruins tour and accommodating with our group.
AMAZING! Alex Rodrigo was the perfect guide. He exceeded all expectations. He was kind, informative and responsive to our requests. I think it's worth it to get the private tour for the ruins. You learn all these incredible facts. I would strongly recommend the Pet Cemetery Cenote, it's further off the beaten path and fewer crowds. The lunch was the best food we ate on all trip. I can't imagine a better experience. HIGH recommend.
We were a group of 12 extended family members from ages 11-70. Every age enjoyed the tour. Alejandro and Antonio were very friendly and seemed happy to be there. Alejandro was our guide and he was very knowledgeable about Tulum and Cenotes. The ride from our resort in Cancun to Tulum went by quickly because he taught us a lot about the history. We opted to start with a 7am pickup instead of the recommended 6am time and I can see why they suggest to start early. While it worked great for us, I wouldn’t have wanted to be any later. We mostly stayed in front of the crowds and had very few people at the Cenote, which was nice. The humidity in Tulum was super high and we were really hot at 9am. By 10am, when we were leaving Tulum, we were all dripping with sweat and so excited to jump in the cenote. The Tulum tour was wonderful. The scenery was beautiful and Alejandro taught a lot about the history. The cenote was so refreshing! 11 of the 12 people in our group jumped off the platform into the water, which was really fun. They gave us all lifejackets with snorkel gear and a few waterproof flashlights. It was so amazing to see the formations under the water. We all loved it. After spending as much time as we wanted in the Cenote we changed into dry clothes and went to lunch. The restaurant was cute and local and delicious! The people were very friendly. We lucked out because it started to rain when we left the cenote. Driving back to our resort it rained really hard. The timing for everything was perfect. When booking this tour, we were considering renting a car and doing it on our own. I am SO happy we didn’t go that route. It would have been stressful and hard to navigate. Thank you Alejandro and Antonio for an amazing experience! We would recommend them to anyone looking to create memories with their family in Cancun.
Guides were very knowledgeable and very accommodating and flexible. We had our 9 year old and 6 year old and they made the tour interesting and fun for them. Kids absolutely loved the jaguar cenote zip line and platforms to jump off, highlight of our trip and highly recommend
If you want to get a taste of Mexican history on your trip, but don’t have as much time, this is the trip for you! We learned so much on our tour of the Tulum ruins! Alex is so knowledgeable and an amazing guide. He goes over the top in every way! The cenotes are an experience not to be missed. Do not skip the ziplining and diving. What an adventure! We were so thankful that Julio drove us safely everywhere and made sure everything was protected and taken care of. This team is the absolute best!
Our guide Arturo took us to Tulum. One of the prettiest Mayan ruins I have seen. The we went swimming in a lagoon and snorkeling in a cenote. The little kids had a great time as did the adults. Lunch at La Barracuda was delicious.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our guides Rodri and Cris. Our group included a 6-year-old and grandmother, and both guides went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt included and had an amazing time. Cris was incredibly knowledgeable about Maya history and culture, while also being an expert on cenotes and their geological origins. The combination of cultural insights and natural history made the tour both educational and fascinating. Our visit to Pet Cemetery was truly breathtaking - an unforgettable experience that we’ll treasure forever. I highly recommend this tour company and we’re already planning to book with them again on our next visit to the region. The guides’ expertise, enthusiasm, and ability to cater to different age groups made this one of the highlights of our trip!
Our tour guide was Josh and driver was Omar, they picked us up at 7:30 and we’re so friendly from the get go. The van was all air conditioned and nice and clean which was welcomed in the heat. We went to the ruins first stop and Josh shared all his knowledge about the amazing Mayan history. His passion and enthusiasm and pride was evident in his story telling. It was great being there so early at 8 as soon as the park opened as we beat the crowds. From there we had picked Jaguar as our cenote however it begun pouring rain, so Josh suggested another cenote so we can experience the beautiful water out of the rain. taak Bi Ha was where we went and this place was pure magic! Josh let us swim for as long as we liked. From there we went to juanitas for a yummy Mexican lunch and the restaurant was so family friendly, the boys had a great time playing with the local pets and exploring. I can’t recommend this company enough. Private and very friendly.
This was a highlight of our trip! My husband, myself, and our 3 kids (ages 8, 6, and 4) were picked up promptly by Juan and Rodrigo and got to the ruins as soon as they opened - no crowds! They had booster seats we requested for the kids and a wide selection of drinks. They even happily made a pitstop for us to grab snacks for the kids. We were the only people at the Cenote and there was a great little place to jump off for the kids. Highly recommend! It felt like a super safe and fun experience!
We learned so much about the Mayan people and their history with our tours of both the Tulum Ruins and the city of Chichen Itza! Cristina was our guide and her passion, respect and knowledge of the environment, the history and the people of the Yucatan were inspirational. We loved learning about the network of cenotes and their geological and cultural significance as well. We had a lovely snorkeling tour of Taak Bi Ha with a delightful lunch after. Many thanks to Rodrigo, our driver, who made sure we were comfortable thru-out our travels. I would not hesitate to book with this tour company again!
Alex and Rodrigo took us to Tulum and a cenote, Alex was a great guide with a lot of information about the ruins and the history of the Maya and Mexico. We didn't have to worry about anything Alex got all the wrist bands ready where we didn't have to do any planning just walked straight into our tour sites. Would recommend to anyone looking for an excursion.
Absolute Adventures was the only tour group that I could find that did an excursion from Tulum to both Los Dos Ojos cenote and the Tulum Ruins in a single day. This was a great private tour and Juan was a great and very personable guide. He was very informative about Tulum ruins in particular and Yucatan pre-colonial history in general. The ruins themselves are not large, but are beautifully situated along the coastal cliffs. Going with a guide in Los Dos Ojos allowed us to go in areas closed off to the general public. Life jackets are required. There are showers and changing rooms. Bring water shoes to get down the stairs to the pools. I highly recommend this tour.
Highly recommend this adventure! Arturo was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide through the Tulum ruins. Having a guide explain the ruins makes it so much more valuable of a visit! And then snorkeling with the turtles was EPIC! Saw at least 10 or 15 giant turtles and snorkeled along a part of the coral reef. TONS of fish to see and good visibility. Was a great adventure day for our family of four! Loved the timely pick-up and private van with no stops or waiting.
Our family of 11 (5 kids) took the Tulum and Cenote tour with Juan. It was the highlight of our week long stay in the PDC area! Juan did an amazing job of keeping the tour interesting and engaging for the kids, encouraging them to spot and keep count of the iguanas at Tulum, and recommended that we switch our initial cenote pick to one that was more kid friendly. The trip was a huge hit with the whole family from grandparents down to 8 year olds. The transportation as comfortable and seamless and it nice to be able to go at our own pace. Highly recommend the company and Juan especially. We will not hesitate to use them again.
My family (2 kids- ages 14, 17) had an amazing tour with Juan. He picked us up at our hotel on time and we were the first ones into the ruins at Tulum. He told us all about the ruins and the Mayan culture. It was wonderful to do that early in the morning before it was too hot. He then took us to a cenote that we had all to ourselves. We were able to snorkel at our own pace and enjoy the cenote. We then went to the underground cenote which was equally amazing. I'm so glad that we chose 2 cenotes and got the experience of both the above ground and undergound one. Juan took great pictures of our family and I would highly recommend this tour.
The trip was great! Guides were very nice and super fun to be around. The cenote was also incredible - the water was very clear and it was pretty private.
Great experience with our tour guide. Mayan Ruins and cenote swim. Great experience and highly recommend for friends and family. Jump off the ledge!
Fantastic trip - Arturo and Kristina were great guides which knew a lot and showed us the best spots. Even as a big group it’s been great!
The Tulum Ruins and Snorkeling in Cenote tour with Absolute Adventure Mexico was the first of two that my wife and I booked for our week in Playa del Carmen (the second was the Chichen Itza Express, which is also highly recommended). This was our first trip to Mexico, and because we were staying at an all-inclusive resort, the two excursions were our opportunity to embrace Mayan culture and see more of the region. Our tour guide Alex and driver Omar arrived promptly at 7 a.m. stocked with plenty of cold water and the snorkeling equipment we would use for our cenote visit. While this may seem an early start, the benefits of arriving at these sites early cannot be underestimated. Crowds build up through the day, so visiting with fewer other tourists is worthwhile. I will also note that it was just the four of us for the excursion, so it really was a private tour, affording an intimacy with our guide Alex that one can only get in a small group. We began by driving to the Tulum ruins. Alex proved extremely knowledgeable and congenial. While en route, he expounded upon the Mayan civilization and what we would see at the Tulum ruins. He even taught us how the Mayan numbering system worked and how to write different numbers. Who knew that Mayans used a base 20 numbering system? We also learned that Tulum had been razed by Spanish conquistadors and was essentially forgotten for centuries, only rediscovered in 1841. Mangrove forests continue to be pushed back as more of the ancient city is rediscovered. Alex taught us how important the seasonal calendar was to the Mayans and how they used window placement to inform the day relative to the equinoxes or summer solstice (think crop management). The fact that Tulum is situated at the top of a cliff makes it a picturesque place; wandering the site listening to Alex's patient narration was a treat. Leaving Tulum, Alex gave us the choice of three cenotes: Nicte Ha, Taak bi Ha, or Jaguar. Alex explained what each was like, and we selected Taak bi Ha because we liked the idea of snorkeling in a cavern cenote. We arrived at Taak bi Ha on schedule (around 11 a.m.) and prepared for snorkeling. Here, I will note that the equipment provided by Absolute Adventure Mexico was excellent, better than what I own at home. Alex also volunteered that the snorkeling equipment is sanitized after every use, which was appreciated. We snorkeled in the cave for over an hour. Alex snorkeled, too, which was helpful since he could point out a few things before allowing us alone time. It was really a remarkable experience exploring the cavern, though seeing the guidelines that scuba divers use to enter the dark depths impressed upon me that I have zero interest in ever doing that. One other point to make is that our driver Omar remained with the van throughout our time in the cenote, so we never had any concerns about the security of our phones, wallets, etc. At no point did Alex rush us through our adventure. When we were done snorkeling, we returned to the van and drove a short distance to the local restaurant where we enjoyed the lunch that was part of the excursion. Very good, traditional food in ample quantities! And having the opportunity to ask Alex more questions and learn about his life was a privilege. In summary, the Tulum Ruins and Snorkeling in Cenote tour with Absolute Adventure Mexico is strongly recommended. Alex and Omar were fantastic, and we learned at the end of our excursion that Alex would be taking us on the Chichen Itza Express in two days. Suffice it to say, we were ecstatic to see him again. Guides make the experience, and hiring the best guide talent appears to be a priority for the company. Great job!
We had a great time during our Tulum ruins tour and cenote swim. I would highly recommend it to anyone and we would do it again if we went back. Alex was an outstanding tour guide!
What a tour!! Arturo and Omor were awesome. Arturo was very knowledgeable and just a great person to tour around with. Highly recommend taking this tour…you won’t regret it!
We had such a good day on our private tour with Juan. Juan was extremely knowledgeable and great with our 3 and 5-year-old children. Juan and our driver picked us up from our hotel in PDC and took us to the Tulum ruins early before the crowds started and before it got too hot. He provided a lot of history and the views were incredible. Next, he took us to a cave cenote- Taak Bi Ha. We had the place to ourselves! We enjoyed snorkelling in the cenote while the kids explored the cave. Lastly, we had a mexican lunch before heading back to our hotel. There were not a lot of options at the restaurant we went to as alot was apparently not available eg chicken. The restaurant seemed annoyed we did not purchase a drink as we were happy to hydrate with our water. Lunch was nice though, and I would highly recommend the tour and Juan!
This was a perfect tour for our family of 10. It was both informational and recreational. Juan (J.J.) was a great guide and captured memorable family photos. Claire is terrific to help organize and deal with last minute changes. I highly recommend Absolute Adventures!
We were a family of 6 adults and 5 children (ages 7-14) on a private tour with just our group. The tour van arrived 10 minutes early, which was great as it gave everyone time to get loaded so we were able to take off at 7:30 am. We first visited the Tulum ruins, which was a great time to be there as it wasn't very crowded and it didn't get too hot. There was quite a bit of walking to get into the ruins and back out again. Artudo, our guide was fantastic. The pace was very nice and he was informative in a manner that was easy for us all to understand. From there we visited 2 cenote's, the first was the Jaguar cenote that had a zip line across the cenote which you could ride 2 times. There were also 2 platforms you could jump off of into the cenote. One was close to 15 feet high and the other maybe 10 feet. The water was clear and beautiful. Artudo then took us on a swim through a carved out rock area to the other end of the cenote. He was always very encouraging and made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy the experience before proceeding to the next cenote. The second cenote was Nicte-Ha, which had a large cave area as well as beautiful underwater plants. Finally we ate at a very peaceful restaurant, which is part of a lodge that was peaceful and delicious. Our family had a fabulous time are Artudo was the BEST!!!!
Our day was perfect as we went to the ruins of Tulum and two very different types of cenotes, all navigated and highlighted by our wonderful guide, Joshua. One of the cenotes was a beautiful open pool with mangroves, a jumping platform and a super fun zipline. The other was an underground cenote with stalactites and snorkeling I'm crystal clear water. The grounds of the ruins were absolutely stunning. I noticed Joshua, our guide, was significantly more engaged than the other guides. Our group, which included four children, felt particularly cared for as we got historical notes and pro tips for the experiences at every turn. We were fortunate for perfect weather. We also stopped for lunch at a hidden treasure of a boutique hotel with ridiculously good food and drinks in a very cool outdoor dining area. While traveling between stops another great thing about Joshua was how he prepared us for what to expect and gave us instructions on do's and don'ts. He did everything in such a friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming way it really made the experience so much better.
Easy breezy tour to Tulum ruins and 2 cenotes with door to door service from our resort. Our tour guide Arturo provided a plethora of cultural facts about the Mayan settlement in Tulum and our driver Enrique provided a comfortable pleasurable ride. Top notch service all day from both and would highly recommend for your next excursion. Do as many cenotes as you can!
We booked a private tour for our group of 16 and it was incredible! Could not recommend more highly. They were able to provide transportation in a van large enough for the entire group, and our guide Arturo was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. The ruins were beautiful. The cenote we went to was fantastic and not crowded at all. Then the location they chose for the included lunch was delicious. It was honestly the perfect day trip!
Alex and Enrique were awesome tour guides! Showed up right on time and made everything really easy the entire day. Learned a ton about Mayan history and the geography of the area. 10/10. Book your trip with these guys if you get a chance
Juan was literary the most amazing tour guide. We could not have asked for a better experience! If your considering this, do it!!!!!
Just got back from the Tulum ruins and cenote swim tour and it was amazing!!! So worth it. Our guide Joshua did such a great job explaining the history of the Mayan culture and we learned a lot. However the best part, in my opinion, was the cenote swimming. Joshua’s love of being in the water made him the perfect guide to snorkel and explore the inners of the cenote. Him and our driver Enrique made the day perfect!!! I highly recommend booking this tour.
Another excellent tour with Absolute Adventure México! They are my favorite tour company. Arturo was an amazing tour guide and made the day extra special. Thank you! I already know which tour I’m doing with Absolute Adventure México on my next visit!!
Highly recommend this tour. Joshua, our guide was amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed lunch at the end of the tour 😋
This was our favorite part of the whole trip! Our guide was wonderful and shared so much interesting information throughout. The lunch was delicious! Definitely recommend booking this tour.
This tour was the highlight of our trip! We were two families, with kids ages 8-15 and everyone loved it. Online booking was super easy, prices were reasonable, and communication from the company was great. Alex was an amazing guide! Very knowledgeable and friendly. We were picked up promptly and the van was clean and comfortable. They had it stocked with waters, juices and beers for us. Tulum was a great option to see ruins with the little kids. We chose the cave cenote and WOW. We could have stayed there all day. Alex had water proof flashlights for us to swim with which really helped us explore and see more (none of the other tour guides had those for their groups). After the cenote we had a fantastic lunch at the family owned restaurant onsite at the park where the cenote was located. We highly recommend this company and would absolutely use them again!
We had the best day today with Alex and Omar. We first went to Tulum and Alex shared some amazing Mayan knowledge with us. After Tulum we went to the cenote which was amazing. 😍 It was our first time snorkeling and honestly, incredible doesn't describe it well enough. We then went and had a delicious lunch before coming back to the resort. The private tour was absolutely the right choice for us. We could go at our pace, ask questions, and it was so nice to have Alex with us throughout. Highly recommend this company and hopefully you get Alex as your guide. 🩷
Our guide Jacob was amazing. He hung around and had lunch with us, held on to those who couldn't swim and we're still scared in the cenote.
