My husband and I came to Playa Del Carmen for my birthday. We bought two packages from Maya Adrenaline and both were amazing. They provided everything you need. Just wear your swimsuit, swim shoes, and sunscreen. Bring a towel, and you’re set to go. Don’t forget pesos for tipping and shopping. Sarah, Chino, and Nico were great - super friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to answer questions in various languages. I highly recommend this company.

The trip was a lot of fun, the tour guides were great. Very knowledgeable and fun. This site made it very easy to book it and pay for it. But be aware, when you pay the ruin tax, they take you to a building and try to rush you through paying. The person taking my payment first didn't show me the charge rate and was insisting I just put in my pin, without seeing it. Then when I made her redo it. So I could see what I was being charged, she wasn't happy. And then after I out in my pin she pushed buttons before I could read the next screen putting the charge through with their exchange rate, instead of allowing me to get my credit card do the exchange rate. Instead of the $100 it should have cost me, it cost me $160. To say I'm pissed off about this is an understatement. I will not ever use their services again as a result. I don't feel the tour deserved a bad rating because of this. every other experience I had was fantastic, and all 9 of my group had a lot of fun.
What a fun adventure! I had the time of my life seeing all sorts of ruins, and learning so many new things! We had just the most amazing guide at Coba - I can't think of any other way to spend your birthday - what a wonder
I enjoyed the locations we visited and liked the Cenote swim but the tour was all over the place. I had to change buses multiple times maybe 7-8 times. Most buses were without proper AC and it was very hot and humid outside. it took 2 hours just to get to the first location with 2 different buses. The tour guid in Tulum ruins and Coba did not give us a lot of information and because we were late he gave us a tour for 10-15 min the gave us free time which was not enough to explore the areas. The buffet was terrible there were no options they gave us only 1 plate without explaining what it contains. They did not ask if we have any food restrictions. At the end I was the last to be dropped off and when I asked them to drop me off at my hotel the driver refused and left me in front of another hotel where there were no taxis and I had to walk for a whole hour to my hotel. Luckily I found a taxi on my way to the hotel who charged me a crazy amount of money. I would not recommend taking this tour. I only gave 3 starts because of the beautiful location that we visited
We enjoy the trip in a way that we enjoyed the history and the beautiful views. The only negative side of it was the lunch. It was not a buffet. It was very disappointing. They served us a plate with rice, hard beans, cold scrambled eggs and some type of nacho roll. Food was cold, i could not eat it at all. Other than that, the guides were super pleasant, the cenote was beautiful. Hopefully they improve the meal.
iTour is the scheduling company for our excursion with Maya Adrenaline Mexico (ATV, Zip lining, and Cenote). Our tour with Maya Adrenaline was absolutely terrible as our tour guide passed out mid-tour from being "hung over" and we were stuck in the Mayan Jungle alone to figure out how to escape/get through the rest of the zip-lining tour safely. Our ATV tour ended short because they did not have enough operating atvs to accomodate our party of 6 and two other parties that they had to group together because our guide was not present. We also did not get to do the cenote tour because everything was so hectic that we had no guidance and did not feel comfortable doing it on our own. So - to say the least this experience was absolutely terrible - a nightmare! When we got back tot he main campground I asked to speak with a Manager to request a ride back to iTour as we were not going to continue to be inconvenienced and wait on another tour to end to get transported back. The Manager did not speak English so another employee had to translate for me. I asked for some type of compensation for the terrible experience as we did not get to do all the services we paid for - the Manager said they could get us a ride back to iTour but that iTour would have to process with the refund as they were the company we booked through. Upon arrival to iTour from the excursion, I spoke with the manager Marco who wanted more information on the experience. Marco was understanding after hearing us out and said he would have to speak with Maya Adrenaline to get information from them. As we asked was for a partial refund as we only got to do 1/3 of the events we paid for. Marco gave me his number to follow up on our request however after reaching out numerous times he has not been responsive. I am writing this review to let all know BE CAREFUL BOOKING with these companies as they are not accommodating and will take your money, give you poor service, make promises but end up screwing you over in the end. As a citizen on vacation I am extremely disappointed about this experience and feel taken advantage of. I will never book with either of these companies ever again.
We took a trip to the Mayan ruins in Tulum, the mayan rain God cenote and the Playa Paraiso. It was amazing. Our guide Ludo was the best. We've had a lot of guides throughout our journeys and vacations but we've never had such a great guide (❤️) The excursion was more that what we imagined, the lunch in the Tulum jungle felt tastier. We highly recommend Maya Adventure and Ludo!
Mayan World Guide was great! Ruben was an amazing guide. Thank you Ruben for making our experience a great one!
Pedro was our tour guide he was very informative on the cenotes and made me feel relaxed on the zip line
Pedro was our tour guide and he made it amazing. Some of us were nervous about the zip lining but he helped everyone through it. Thank you pedro. Let's go sexy group
Samuel was the highlight of our tour. He took me and my 10 other friends on an awesome tour zip lining, rappeling, ATVing through the jungle, a bomb lunch and drinks, cenote and cavern tours, and also to the Coba ruins. I would highly recommend this excursion and recommend Samuel even more! He made it the BEST!
Good experience overall. My tour guide Marlon was great! A bit unorganized in the beginning and couldn't locate my reservation. I ended up going on a semi-different tour than I signed up for but it worked out just fine. I would recommend this tour.
They never showed up to our hotel to pick us up, never called us or responded to multiple messages. When refund was requested they flat out lied about us not coming to meeting point.
Great driver and guide! Many insights regarding Mayans in Tulum and Coba and their astronomical, religious, and commercial practices. Refreshing dip in the Cenote and exploration of the underground river. Brief stop to see Mayan food preparation and shaman. Long day but rewarding.
This tour was excellent! My family and I created fantastic memories. The archaeological site and Tulum site were closed due to COVID. However, the tour gave us an option. We did the zipline, ATV, cenote, Coba, and Mayan Village. I think that this should be an excursion option. Bring money on the tour to purchase photos and memorabilia at the Mayan village.
The cenote was amazing and our guide Pedro was great and very accommodating to the group!! He was also very funny and kept us giggling. He made sure everyone was safe and had a good time! Pedro for the win!
Great experience! Fully worth the price and then some. Our group guide, Marlon, was friendly, engaging, and well informed - as was our driver, Isaak. He brought enthusiasm and energy and I would GLADLY do this trip again. The activities we did - the caverns, ATV rides, and zipline - were all incredible, as was the food. Marcela
Amazing tour! Marlon (our tour guide) was incredible and made the trip so special! And our driver Isaac was amazing!
Great time w/ a great group of people I had never met before... Pedro was our guide and he was perfection!!
Booked with them for tour visit to Tulum Cobá and cenote lunch included. Departure at 07.15 arrival expected around 18.00 I would like to point out that the distances between the various sites and resorts are relevant for this reason whoever organizes these tours must know how to plan the movements and times well. In this respect, as far as we are concerned, Maya Adrenaline was somewhat lacking. Two days earlier we had done Chichen-itza with another guide and we had a very good time... precise, attentive to timetables, information explained during the journey, simple but adequate lunch, in short they made the whole day interesting for us. So we expected more or less the same thing with Maya Adrenaline We left at 07.15 and they took us to the meeting point to organize the various minibuses. We stayed there for about 30/40 minutes. and at the moment it didn't cause us any major problems. Once we leave for Tulum, they leave us a spot in the parking lot. I meet there again at the end of the visit. At the meeting time we realized that the car park was filled with minibuses and bus taxis, almost all the same and this was a bit disorientating, but we managed to find ours. We were supposed to leave at 11, but almost an hour later we were still there. I ask for explanations and the driver tells me that two people are lost. I tell him that it's actually not that easy to find each other and that perhaps they should specify the meeting point better. In the end he decides to leave anyway and we go to the point for lunch. Now… it's not that we expected to find a chef, we know that on these tours the lunch is minimal… however the one two days before was not bad… But a single dish passed off as typical Maya with a bit of rice, a bowl of boiled beans, and a small piece of omelette cut into small pieces... it looked like dog mash. We visit the cenote nearby and then leave for Coba… after ten minutes of travel we go back to the meeting point and start waiting again.. after half an hour my wife asks for explanations and the driver says that they have lost the two from before again!!!! Finally we set off again and realize that it's still an hour and a half or more away... Why not first do Coba' which is further away and then move closer to see Tulum?! No guide explaining anything just the driver. We arrive at Coba' at 4pm... and the site closes at 5pm. For those who have never been there Coba', it occupies a very large surface area, it takes at least two hours to see and appreciate it. Once the mini visit is over they ask us if we want to taste some tekila in the souvenir shop just outside and... more waiting!! We're starting to realize that it's getting late... We leave and thought we were headed home... but no!!! Stop again at the Mayan village!!! (For the record it is a fake village built just to sell something to tourists) When I find out that we would be staying for another half hour and the driver tells us that it takes 2 and a half hours to get to the hotel from there, I start to get nervous. The visit to the Mayan village with the shaman's ritual is part of another tour, but they put everything together to maximize the yield. Given my nervousness... and not just mine... after 15 minutes they decide to leave again... At this point, what does the manager of the group I complained to do??? The list of names to fill out the evaluation form..!!!! More time!! I was furious... we have 2 and a half hours to fill it out on the road and you want us to do it here?!? I won't fill you in on anything!! We take the road back and arrive at the hotel at past 8.30pm…. Exhausted I discovered while talking on the return journey that the people weren't lost... the staff had made a mess by loading them onto a minibus without saying anything to the person in charge of them. In short, in the end we were around for 13 and a half hours to complete 9 hours of waiting, traveling and unsolicited stops. We felt taken for a ride, like sheep taken to be sheared. The same evening I sent a complaint email... no response So today, a week later... my negative review BAD BAD BAD
The tour was good, the guides are very friendly. The only thing is that they pick you up on a bus, you go to a meeting place where they change you to another bus depending on the tour. All this is understandable, but the process is very slow, the guides are not very efficient in separating tourists according to tours, and a lot of time is wasted. Also, the bathrooms in the place (where you have lunch and where the cenote is) are disgusting, the water doesn't run, there is no toilet paper... Terrible.
Firstly, the driver could tell that he was driving drunk, speeding, going crazy on the road, we waited a long time and we didn’t take in every place but I recognize the tour if it was worth the price, only they have to train their staff regarding friendliness. And I reiterate that you have to take into account the driver you assign is not drunk because it is lives that you carry in your hands, in my opinion it is what angers me.
I read each of the negative comments and laugh are the conforming copy of our experience with them. The seller a seller on the beach who does not have identification of the agency he works for, who by the way “did his job and I liked him super well” I trusted him and I know the need for people to earn their money. The problem wasn't that... the problem is... it's not worth 1800 pesos. I have made many trips from Quintana Roo and I have never been picked up at the hotel 30 mins late from the other scheduled. Then we were taken to an abandoned place I don't know where, people got on and off. They took us to Tulum a spectacular and prepared guide it is worth Alfredo pity that he works in this company he deserves better. It was like two hours maximum in Tulum. Then they took us to the Cenote. Nice experience. (15mins) then eat. Mayan food mmmm no, it was bean rice and two flutes and egg scrambles with chilaquiles toast. (Value 2$) then took us to Coba beautiful place. It's worth going. Then the “precious” Mayan ceremony I liked. Well, it was an experience where we were robbed because of what we were sold. Ah I forgot to mention that the driver flew us my boyfriend made a snag on the head of a jump in the middle of the road and another girl scraped her leg with the chair in front. Upon arriving at the hotel as my partner and I laughed that we had gone somewhere paying 3600 pesos when it was not worth 1000. WE WERE CONNED!!
Loved it, the guide very good, the tour was great, the attention given excellent. I would definitely choose them again!
