Private Tour Of Muyil Archaeological Site & Sian Ka'an Lazy River

Cesar was our tour guide, and he made this a really special experience. He was very knowledgeable, kind, friendly, and he obviously enjoyed being our guide. Super positive experience with him. He should get a raise! The tour itself was better than I expected, and my expectations were high. The Tulum ruins were incredible. It covered a much larger area and was more developed than I expected. Cesar helped us understand what life was like there at that time. The second half of the tour, where we went to Sian Ka’an and floated down a channel through the mangroves was an unforgettable experience. I feel like my wife and I watered able to experience some of the jewels of Mexico. I am grateful, and I would love to come back and see more.

Our two tour guides were excellent---they could not have been better! The breakfast was great as was the walk through the Mayan ruins. The highlight for the two children was the float down the lazy river. Thanks so much. All of our days in Mexico were nice, but everyone agreed the day on your tour was the definitely the best.

Alonzo was our tour guide. He was friendly, attentive, and kind. The best your guide one can ask to learn more about Mexico’s heritage in a day. He made sure we had all we needed to enjoy the tour. The tours were great. The archeological site and museum were one of the best international sites I’ve been to. Floating in the canals was a dream. Had the chillest best time with my trip partner. One piece of feedback for the tour company is to ask guests is they have any dietary restrictions. We could not eat at the restaurant that was selected because we dont eat pork.

We had a wonderful time with Carlos and Armando. The floating down the lagoon river was relaxing and refreshing and a ton of fun. Carlos was very knowledgeable about the Tulum ruins and all things Mayan. Highly recommend this tour.

We had an amazing day trip where we first got to see and roam the ancient Mayan Ruins in Tulum, before heading to the Muyil biosphere where we first toured the lagoon by boat and jumping in the water for a quick refreshing swim and floating. Our very competent guides Paloma and Victor were very friendly and provided us with a lot of background information regarding Mayan history and culture. The tour and our guides were a lot of fun, as such I can only recommend booking this trip and getting to spend a lovely day with them.

Joseline was a wonderful guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable she gave us recommendations for local taco apots away from tourist areas for my foodie husband.. Tulum was great and joseline provided water and snacks to keep us going. Swimming down the river in the Preserve was amazing and so relaxing and she stayed with my family with a weak swimmer to assure we'd be fine. Had a great time on this small tour and if we come back to Mexico, we'll definitely utilize this company n ask for Joseline again.

An absolutely magical day out. The Mayan ruins were fascinating and our guide, Alonsos, was very informative and gave you a great understanding of how they used to live. Getting there early is a good idea as it’s less hot and less busy. We even had time for a dip in the sea! The stop for lunch and chance to see Tulum was also welcome but the gem of the trip is definitely Sian Ka’an and the lazy river. What an absolutely beautiful and idyllic setting; can’t recommend this enough.

Our tour with Alondra of the Tulum Ruins was by far the best tour guide experience we had throughout all the archeological sites cross Yucatan that we had. Alondra was not only a historian on the Mayan people, but had a energetic, lively personality which made the entire experience that much better. She and our driver Victor were wonderful and they worked extremely well together to navigate the crowds and traffic as if they both weren't a thing. We learned so much on our tour that carried with us into Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. The tacos and boat tour of Sian Ka'an + float were also well managed by Alondra, who provided us expert tips to enjoy the water and even went above and beyond to take photos of our group without asking, and providing a list of Tulum recommendations for the rest of our trip. I really cannot stress how wonderful Alondra and Victor were! They truly made the experience!

Cesar was an excellent guide! He had so much knowledge to share about the history of the Yucatan peninsula, mythology, and the archeological sites. We had a wonderful day and learned so much. Would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the Tulum ruins, spend some time in the water and have amazing food!

This tour was top rate from start to finish. Our guide, Iber, was so pleasant. He’s very attentive to details and always making sure everyone is comfortable. We loved the tour of Tulum and our taco lunch. But the lazy river float was the highlight. It’s hard to describe. So you need to experience it for yourself. Five stars!

It has been a really nice experience. Our tour guide Cesar, was super nice and gentle and was really passionate about the story of his culture. We had a nice trip around the ruins (but very very hot!!) and we loved the Sian ka experience of swimming in the lagoons. Really great I would recommend!

This was an awesome excursion. Enjoyed the Tulum ruins with breathtaking views and learning about the Mayans. Lunch was delicious. Ate tacos at a local establishment. Lastly, we floated in the beautiful Sian Kaan. Thanks to our wonderful tour guide, Lily and driver, Jesus for a wonderful time.

We genuinely had an amazing time on this trip. The team that helped make their reservation were really accommodating and communicative. They made it really easy to organize the meeting location and let us know when they were out front. Iber and Jesus picked us up right on time and even came with a car seat for our nine month old. They were so helpful and accommodating, making sure that we made any necessary stops along the way. The tour was really interesting and, beautiful. The ruins were incredible and Iber knew a lot about the history and geography of the area. Once we had lunch organized, we came back after the ruins to an incredible Mayan lunch. As a vegan, they had options and it was one of the best meals on the trip. From there, we were able to float down the river in the reserve. It was really easy to do with the baby and very enjoyable. The water was warm and the area was gorgeous. I would strongly recommend this adventure. I think the price is a little steep, but it was as great as it could be.

The float was great! We had a 10 month old with us and it went really smooth. They accommodated us so well and he even floated! It was all so beautiful and impressive.

The guide Lea was incredible. She’s so knowledgeable about the ecosystem and animals that we saw. I highly recommend booking with her!

Our family of five had a wonderful half-day tour of Muyil and Sian Ka'an in large part because of our extremely well-informed guide Leire who showed and shared a clear passion for both Mayan history/culture and wildlife in the bio-reserve. Her enthusiasm was infectious! The river float to end the day was especially memorable and relaxing. She and our driver were also very flexible when we had to switch up the timing on our return. Sky was an excellent tour guide. The transportation was on time and we were made aware of in advance when pickup and drop off roughly was. The views and activities were great. It was a lovely half day adventure but was pricier compared to other tours that we have done in Mexico that travelled a longer distance. It was hard to see where the money went.

Great day for our family (10 people) at Muyil. Paloma was our tour guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly and spoke good French. She also prepare an awesome lunch for us! We visited the ruins, did a boat tour on the laguna and finished with an amazing swim in the mangrove! Unforgettable day!

We had a large group of about 18 take a tour with Marco. He was knowledgeable, fun, and made the experience wonderful. Highly recommend this if you are in or around Tulum and looking for something to do with family or friends!

An excellent tour led by a knowledgeable, friendly guide. The boat ride in the Lagoons within Sian Ka’An biosphere reserve and the experience of floating within an ancient Mayan canal were especially wonderful and memorable. Highly recommended.

We had the best day with our guide Lea, exploring the Muyil ruins and taking an epic float down a canal. We had 7 kids in our group, and she was so patient and entertaining. She made us a beautiful lunch, including homemade vegetarian burritos and sweet cornbread. It was the perfect day! I highly recommend this tour company and spending a day with Lea!

EVERY PART OF THIS TOUR WAS AMAZING! Learning about the ancient Mayans, walking through the jungle, sailing on the freshwater lake and floating through the ancient Mayan canals on life jackets. This tour is soothing and yet mind blowing at the same time. Cesar, our guide was so knowledgeable and literally the coolest dude we have met in Mexico. This is a wonderful tour to do, it’s small and intimate, and filled with incredible wonders of the jungle and amazing biosphere. You relax in shallow, fresh water canals and it’s is sublime. It’s a must to fully appreciate Tulum and a welcome reprieve from the crowds at busy Cenotes.

Had a wonderful experience on the Sian Ka’an - Legacy of the Maya tour with Niko on June 17. The archaeological site was all the more special with Niko’s historical commentary. After the site tour, we walked into the Sian Ka’an biosphere reserve which is A MUST for anyone in the Tulum area. Amazing. After that we got on boats and rode through beautiful mangrove forests to a lazy river experience. Highly recommend Mexico Kan Tours and Niko!

We loved our tour with Luigi to Sian Ka’An and Muyil. Half our group had been to Mexico a dozen times and the other half had never been and it was equally as fun for all. We loved the eco walk and history, but floating down the lagoon channels was the highlights of our trip. Luigi also gave us some superb tips for where to eat and visit, which we utilized for the the rest of the trip. Would highly recommend this organization. Super communicative and you definitely get your money’s worth.

We did this tour with Paloma as our guide and Irbin as our driver, and it was just great! A huge thank you to Paloma, who made this day incredible. She was always in a good mood, smiling, attentive and really concerned about our well-being throughout the tour. She took the time to explain everything in detail, with a lot of passion and clarity. You can feel that she loves what she does, and that makes all the difference. We started with the ruins of Tulum, a beautiful place full of history. The explanations were very interesting and enriching. We then went to the Sian Ka’an Reserve: a magical and unforgettable experience! The scenery was sublime and the kids loved it. As we were with young children, it was very important to us that everything was well supervised and safe — and it was perfectly the case. A snack was even provided if needed, which is very appreciable attention. We also really appreciated Paloma taking pictures for us, as we couldn't do it while swimming. And finally, she even put music on the way home to please the children. A perfect day from start to finish. We recommend this excursion with your eyes closed!

We had to change the tour due to bad weather, they were precise and organized in providing us with alternatives and communicating with us and our agency. The visit to the ruins of Tulum, the biosphere of Sian Kan and the lazy river were really beautiful and well organized. Also lunch and very good snacks! Attentive and kind driver, special mention for our guide Lea: prepared, helpful, very nice and welcoming! His love for what he does and his land are overwhelming. Thank you so much for solving a problem and giving us a beautiful last day in Mexico!

The visit was wonderful: the Mayan ruins are extremely fascinating, with a beautiful view of the ocean. The most amazing thing is the boat and swimming tour in Sian Ka'an reserve, one of the most incredible experiences of my life for colors and emotion. A special mention goes to Alonso, our guide: his preparation, attention and kindness have made this trip truly special, offering us a brilliant and well-prepared eye on Mexican culture and traditions.

Superb organization, beautiful sites especially Sian Ka'an. Paloma, our guide, was always smiling, telling us stories about the Mayans and advising us on the best things to do.

We spent half a day with Paloma, a wonderful guide of kindness and attention, teamed up with Ruben to introduce us to the Sian Ka’An site, the Mayan ruins, the jungle with a part of mangrove vegetation then the biosphere of Muyil with its superb lagoon. A picnic lunch of local dishes prepared by our guides. A very nice day. All in French which is not common. Bravo Paloma
