Run to hit the purchase button. We had an amazing time with our guide Hisa! Spending time with a local who is part Mayan and speaks Mayan was incredible! We saw monkeys, crocodiles, the biggest spider I've ever seen, walked and biked through a jungle, swam in a cenote, and enjoyed a fantastic meal! This tour is definitely worth the cost, and I can't wait to return to Mexico for another tour with the same company. Had lunch with Carlos and his family at their home; his adorable children were a very special part of our day. Not to mention, the food was so delicious! Why you should book this excursion; you will have an amazing time and supporting small, family-owned businesses makes you feel part of something magical.

Itinerary
Adventure in the lush Mayan jungle, surrounded by exotic vegetation and the sound of tropical birds. Start with a walk guided by a local expert. Here a shaman welcomes you in the Mayan language, sharing the spirituality of this ancient culture. You arrive at an area where curious spider monkeys peek out from the treetops to observe you, while you learn about their behavior and importance to the ecosystem. The moment of excitement arrives with the zip line (optional). You equip yourself with harnesses and helmets, ready to glide through the jungle and lagoon. Afterwards, you descend the walls of a natural underground cenote to cool off in the crystal-clear waters, marveling at the natural beauty of the cave and the feeling of peace that being surrounded by the serenity of the place gives you. (optional) Finally, your day culminates with a peaceful canoe ride across the lagoon
Visit a Mayan village and be greeted with authentic and delicious food. You sit back as the enticing aroma of traditional cuisine fills the air. As a main course, you enjoy traditional chicken pibil, an ancient recipe in which the meat is marinated in a mixture of annatto, sour orange juice and local spices, then wrapped in banana leaves and slowly cooked underground in a earth oven The result is juicy meat full of flavor that melts in your mouth. They serve a variety of sides, freshly handmade corn tortillas, habanero chili sauce, pickled red onion, and fresh guacamole. All this is complemented with a refreshing drink. Food in the Mayan village is not only a gastronomic experience, but also a connection with the history and culture of the region, where each dish is prepared with traditional techniques and local ingredients, transmitting the culinary legacy from generation to generation.

Our private tour was amazing! We are a family of four with two boys, ages 10 and 13. Hisa picked us up on time and was so knowledgeable. We went to the Coba ruins and chose to ride bicycles to see the sights. Our guide is a historian so went well above and beyond other tours. It was fascinating! We swam in a cenote that we had all to ourselves. We had a fantastic lunch cooked by a Mayan family that all of us devoured. Then we saw both howler and spider monkeys in a reserve. Truly a day we will remember forever!
This was an amazing day! We are a family of four with boys age 13 and 10. Our guide Hisa was incredibly knowledgeable, he is a historian and so the explanations he provided at Cobá went well beyond the flavor you get on most tours. We rode bikes to ruins, swam in an cenote we had all to ourselves, and saw howler and spider monkeys. Every part of this tour was exceptional, highly recommend!
One of the best tours we’ve ever done – and we travel a lot! We did the “Private Tour: Coba-Ruinen, Punta Laguna, Klammeraffen-Cenote, Maya-Dorf” with Oscar and had an amazing day. He was super friendly, very knowledgeable, and great with our young son. Perfect mix of history, nature, and fun – Coba ruins, an adventurous Punta Laguna, a beautiful cenote, plus ziplining and kayaking. Lunch in a small Mayan village was also a really special experience. Highly recommend this tour and especially Oscar!
I cannot recommend the trip highly enough. We had Hisael as our guide and he was so enthusiastic about everything on the tour and so knowledgable. He was friendly and super accommodating. He tailored lots of the information to our areas of interest and made sure we were comfortable the whole way through. Lunch was delicious and the views were beautiful. We were able to see both spider monkeys and howler monkeys which were a big reason we booked the tour.
We just had the most perfect day with Oscar. Oscar is an amazing tourguide and we will definitely recommend him. He knows so much an made everything so interesting
Hisa was an awesome tour guide. He made sure all of our needs were met. He is super knowledgeable about the history of the Mayan people and archaeology. He is highly recommended. His professionalism is outstanding!
We had great experience with Local Travel Mexico. Booked a private tour for 3 to visit Coba ,Cenote and Punta Laguna. Tour guide, Hisael , was fantastic and very accommodating. 100% recommended. Great Job !
We were a group of 4 and had an amazing day! Ruben was an excellent guide and flexible to our wishes! The food in Mayan village was fantastic (best guacamole ever!) We had the chance to walk in the jungle and see some monkeys!
This private tour was the highlight of our trip! We visited the Monkey Spider sanctuary, swam in a stunning cenote, explored the Coba ruins by tuc tuc, and enjoyed an authentic Mayan cultural experience—including a traditional ceremony and delicious local food. The zip line over Punta Laguna was a total adrenaline rush and added even more excitement to the day! Ruben, our guide, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the region. Everything felt personal, immersive, and never rushed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a real and unforgettable Yucatán experience!
We had a great day with Ruben. He showed us Cobá, then we visited a Maya family where we had delicious food and ended the tour in the jungle, where we zip-lined, went kayaking and swam in a cenote. Would recommend!
Discovery of various places. Carrying out various activities. A day full of emotion!
An unforgettable day with Ruben! Ruben was at our disposal all day and made us live an exceptional excursion. It offers a variety of activities, passionately shares the history of the Mayans and has an impressive culture. The exchanges are natural and rewarding. Delicious typical meal, absolutely beautiful cenote, and a friendly atmosphere where you immediately feel at ease. Ruben does everything to make the day perfect... mission accomplished!
Super friendly and cultured guide. We learned a lot of things and gave us the best tips on places to go. He left us snacks, beers and juices in the van so we could have a drink and everything went on wheels. Definitely the best day of our trip!
Superb day that began with a visit to the Cobá site followed by a swim in a cenotz and a typical Mayan meal The afternoon beautiful moment in the jungle with zip line, canoe, and last swim in a cenote that deserves! Young and old learned a lot throughout the day from David who guided us throughout the day. Another big thank you to him he made sure that this day was perfect
We spent a great day in Coba and Punta Laguna with Ruben!! Very attentive and caring person
We had a great day with Ruben. A human and attentive person. A day that lives up to our expectations. Thank you.
The private tour with Ruben to coba was great and then lunch at a maya family was very tasty. Then to the monkey sanctuary and the zip line. Unfortunately the zipline and the canoe trip did not suggest much before you walk actually a small round through the park where you encounter those 2 things. The sinking into the small cenote was special because it was full of bats and catfish. Unfortunately only seen 1 monkey. All in all nice tour only maybe some parts can be longer and others out.
