Private Cenote & Snorkeling Tour With Turtles In Akumal

Thanks to Yosua, we enjoyed the best excursion to snorkel with turtles and fish, followed by a beautiful cenote and ending the day with a lovely lunch at Juanita restaurant. Yosua was so kind, knowledgeable and made the whole experience that much better So glad we got to do all 3 activities and spend a decent amount of time at each! Absolutely recommend.

Our tour guide Jorge was awesome! Our friend group had a great experience snorkeling and seeing lots of beautiful coral, many species of fish, and a sea turtle! Also great for first time snorkelers.

Had a great day. Ulises met us promptly and got us on our way sharing loads of history on the way to Tulum. He then guided us around the site before taking us to a local taco restaurant. He talked us through the menu and how to eat them properly, like a local. We then went to Akul to swim with the sea turtles, with our guide who promptly greeted us - we saw loads, then finally, a fresh dip in a cenote. We had a great day - he checked we were ok all throughout the day, ensured we had water and were happy with the pace and what the next stop would be. Highly recommend.

Our guide, Jorge, & our driver, Carlos gave us the best tour we have ever been on! Every detail was professional & the most pleasant experience! We took the private tour to snorkel & see the Sea Turtles & it was fantastic! We saw many turtles immediately when we went into the water but in addition saw a coral reef with beautiful tropical fish , crabs, & sea life! We even saw a Mano ray. The equipment (life vest, snorkel, & mask) looked new & clean & worked very well! We highly recommend booking with Jorge & doing the private tour because Jorge is also quite a historian & taught us so much about the Mayan & Aztec culture, along with a lot about the turtles & sea life we saw!! 10 out of 10 experience!!

Ulises was the perfect tour guide for our cenote tour. Friendly, knowledgeable and extremely funny. Ulises was our professor and I think we passed our Cenote 101 class with an A. Carlos was our driver and extremely professional and a great driver. He stopped for all iguana crossings, so you know he is a good man. Ha! We love our day!

This was an incredible day! Yosua was an incredible tour guide and very knowledgeable. He made great conversation and had plenty of fun facts to share. It was rainy, which changed plans for snorkeling, but he instead took us to an incredible taco place in Tulum and to an absolutely gorgeous cenote. We can’t say enough positive things about how perfect the experience was! Yosua is the best, and we would strongly recommend taking a tour with this company!

Elihu and Carlos were a great tour team. Elihu was very knowledgeable about the area and personable. Carlos did great driving and watching over our bags while we visited each sight. The highlight was hands down the cenote it was beyond stunning and having the team provide snorkel gear made it ecen better Highly recommend doing this tour!

Amazing tour with Jhony! There was no rush at any time. We snorkled in Akumal and saw plenty of turtles up close. Lots of beautiful fish, stingrays and squid by the reef. Do keep in mind there will be other groups, but we went in the morning, so it wasnt as busy as it was later on. We also snorkled in the cenote which was really cool. Lunch was very, very good with amazing fresh juices! Highly recommend this tour! Private is really the best!

My wife and I booked the cenotes tour and snorkeling. Our guide was Jorge and made the experience really magical. We were the only passengers and he took his time to explain the history of Tulum . He was very knowledgeable. Highly highly recommend!

My husband and I were very pleased with this tour. It is indeed private so it was only us with our guide Jorge. He picked us up on time and was very attentive to our needs. He didn’t rush us at all and was very knowledgeable about Mexican history. We promised to book this again when we return next year!

We had an amazing experience with Jorge! He was incredibly kind and always made sure everything was comfortable for us, checking constantly if we needed anything and adjusting the tour to our own pace, which we really appreciated. Jorge is extremely knowledgeable, and the conversation never stopped. He always had something interesting to share. He explained everything about the tour in a very professional and "easy-to-understand" way. Seeing the sites while listening to his detailed explanations and history made the experience completely different and much more meaningful. Thanks to Jorge, this tour was truly memorable. Carlos (driver) and Eliyou were wonderful guides. Very kind and knowledgeable about the area. Allowed us to spend the right Bout of time at each place. Great for our family of 4 with a 14 and 12 year old. Experienced everything the description said. Lunch was amazing too! Highly recommend.

The day following an excellent trip to Chichen Itza and cenote with Johnny as our very kind, knowledgeable, and frankly impressive tour guide, we had a wonderful time visiting 3 separate cenotes. Carlos and Ulises provided a welcoming and enjoyable experience. While Carlos was driving us safely, keeping the transportation clean, and kindly opening the doors for us, Ulises spoke with us about history of the Yucatán, the wide range of culture in Mexico, and what his favorite foods are. Ulises is very knowledgeable and funny, continuing to make sure we were having a great time. While this is already above what I would expect for tour guides to provide for our excursion, he continued to talk about and point out animals both inside and outside of just cenotes. Overall Carey tours and their guides, have been perfect for experiencing only a fraction of the beauty of the Yucatán and Mexico.

Ulysses Ulysses Ulysses... Wow what a great tour guide for a private relaxing adventure driven experience. Swam with the Sea turtles, my girlfriends dream wish. He was amazing getting her through the anxiety of her first snorkeling experience. We saw at least 10 different turtles as well as countless fish. Then a 10 min drive to a breathtaking underground cenote, knowledge and history he shared with us was was epic on how excited he was to share with us showing how he love his work along with his great personality made the trip perfect. Afterwards we had a wonderful lunch and shared many laughs with as if we were old friends. If you decide to book with this company be sure to ask for Ulysses he will not disappoint. Brand new cars with great AC. And to top it all off he will take amazing photos/videos for you. I've been to at least 45 different countries and have done at least a 150 private tours. Our guide Ulysis made all the difference in the world. The trip was amazing. Some of us had never snorkel, but that was not an issue. Ulysis helped those that needed some help and helped those who needed a lot of help. We did go on other tours but my entire family missed Ulysis. WE SAW TURTLES…LOTS OF TURTLES. We went on to a cenote and Ulysis paid concentrated attention to those who needed it. We all agreed it was a wonderful day and it wouldn’t have been the same without Ulysis.

Amazing trip! We were 5 adults and 2 young children, Fernando was a brilliant guide, very knowledgeable and very patient with the children. Seeing the turtles in the ocean was magical and the trip to the Cenote was incredible, lunch in the jungle was delicious - he made the whole morning really easy and enjoyable

I had an amazing time! Ulises was a wonderful tour guide. He helped me when we were walking on uneven ground and when I couldn’t wear my glasses as we were snorkeling. Carlos and Charlie, the two different drivers, were great! Ulises was extremely well informed about the places we toured and was able to answer all of our questions. He is also hilarious. I definitely recommend doing the snorkeling with the turtles and the cenote. Overall, it was an amazing experience with a great tour guide!

We just got back from a tour to see the sea turtles and visit a cenote with Johnny and the driver (I’m afraid I can’t remember his name, but he was ace too!). The tour was awesome from start to finish they were both very friendly, very welcoming and looked after us exceptionally well. The guide for the swim with turtles was amazing with our five year-old, which made it easy and fun for our eight-year-old and us to get the most out of it too. The cenote’s we visited were very relaxed and a great place to chill and enjoy the water. We saw river turtles there too. All in all, a great trip, and great guides. Thanks for an awesome day!

We had a great experience from booking to end with Carey’s Tours. Loved that the tour is private so it was just our family. Honestly we have done snorkeling many times but it’s almost always in a big group and this is the first time - with guide Manny’s help - that someone had the patience to teach us the real in’s and outs of using the equipment. Manny was fantastic - friendly, patient and knowledgeable in finding us the best sea turtles, and even a bonus stingray and crab and letting us take our time with them. He walked us through every step from off the transport van, getting our locker, and going out to the ocean and the whole tour. Made us feel like VIPs! The booking experience was great too, quick communication by email and text and they even accommodated a custom tour itinerary (we wanted to start later rather than super early morning like a lot of tours, and since we had a very short trip we wanted to skip the cenotes and spending time on the beach and just do the snorkeling with the turtles). Everything was perfect, highly recommend!

Excellent tour with Ullyses and Carlos. Swam with turtle and ray in Akumek. Saw a lot of fish. Beautiful beach. Went to a great open Cenote. Good snorkeling and also great to dive off the platform there. Finally went for a meal in a local restaurant. The guide was very helpful with pictures. Johnnie was a great private tour guide, we didn’t get to snorkel in the ocean due to the weather but we still enjoyed our day and was well worth it!

Amazing time snorkeling with the turtles. Saw a number of turtles as well as a sting ray, electric ray and tons of fish. Private tour early morning is the only way to go and beat the crowds!

Our guide, Elihu, and our driver, Carlos arrived right on time to pick up our group of 8. Elihu was friendly, informative, and got us excited for the day. Snorkeling was fun (albeit pretty crowded, even at 9am, so i am glad we left at 8am as they recommended). The Taak Bi Ha cenote was AWESOME. It was such a unique place to visit, and we really enjoyed swimming around and learning more about the history and place. Overall, it was a really fun day and exactly what we were expecting when we booked!! The lunch was also delicious and they were very accommodating of our vegetarian / vegan restrictions. Book without hestitation!

Incredible experience snorkelling with 7 turtles in Akumal, and then taking torches into Taak bi ha for a cave swim. Miguel was great with all the family and super flexible when we needed.

We had an amazing time and saw some very cool cenotes, local eating spot and the tour guide was very informative about not only the tour but the culture of Mexican people and their way of life.

Josh was an amazing guide, saw so much sea life during the snorkeling tour (around 10 turtles and some rare sting rays), and the cenote was beautiful, highly recommend!

Carey Tours provides the best experiences in the PDC, Tulum, and Cancun areas! (Ive tried others) We’ve done two tours with them so far, and are already scheduling more before we fly home. One of their guides, Limbert, is an absolute gem with his wealth of knowledge about the areas’ environments and ecosystems, and the local culture and history. We also got the pleasure of meeting Carlos today, and the two of them made our experience even better! The private turtle snorkeling experience in Akumal should be on your “must do” travel list. They picked us up from our condo in a new air conditioned and super clean van, which we had all to ourselves, and we spent the morning leisurely floating above the coral reef and sea grass watching turtles of all sizes eat amongst sting rays, schools of blue tangs, and baby squid. Afterwards we loaded up and explored a closed cenote that is almost too beautiful to be real. (Pictures posted here, but they don’t do it justice…you just have to see it for yourself) Our excursion ended with an incredible lunch at an open air restaurant, where we enjoyed the company of a parrot and local patrons before being dropped back off at our doorstep. There are other good companies that take visitors to these same sights, but Carey Tours hospitality and service is hands down the best in the business. All of their pricing is super affordable and their private tours are 100% worth the little extra for such a perfect day with close friends.

Our tour was great!! First stop was snorkeling at Akumal beach. We saw at least five sea turtles while there. The cenote was unbelievable! The water was freezing but you get used to it quickly. Crystal clear water. Great cenote for kids. Lunch was also so good. Great day! Highly recommend Josh as your tour guide! He was so kind and friendly!
