Coba Ruins Private Tour – Cenote Swim With Certified Guide

I had some hesitation when first researching an excursion. I wanted to make sure that we were (1) safe and (2) attended to. Our tour team, Omar and Arturo, was fabulous and not only met our basic needs, but exceeded our expectations. Omar confidently and calmly navigated the sometimes tricky driving conditions from our place in the hotel zone to Cobá. Arturo made us feel comfortable along the journey and led us through the ruins with clear expertise and an affable communication style. I spent most of the day in awe of what I was seeing. It was a fantastic day and we’re grateful to Omar and Arturo for their work to provide an exceptional experience.

We had an amazing experience with Luis as our tour guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the many facets of the tour, in addition to explaining all of it very well. He is personable and his passion for Mexico, in particular the Yucatán Peninsula exudes when he speaks.

We had an amazing time in our tour! From the pick up at our hotel and the drive to Cobá . Our guide Luis was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable..He made the tour so interesting, he really knows his history. We had a great experience and learned lots about the history of the Mayan people with our great guid Arturo. After we drove to a cenote and have lots of fun swimming and learning out how cenotes work. Over this was a 5 star trip but the main reason it was was because of our guid he was super friendly and showed lots of hospitality.

Amazing day. Arturo and Hugo took extremely good care of us, thoughtful, informative, and safe. These are the type of people you hope to meet when you visit a different country and these are the types of places you hope to experience. The day was full of excellent sites adventures conversation and food. There’s no way we could have done this on our own with a rental car. This was the Most enjoyable experience we had in our entire trip. Hassle-free, safe and memorable.

We had a private tour for our family of 5 of Coba and two cenotes. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the best was that we beat the crowds everywhere we went! We arrived at Coba just after 8am and there were very few people around. We had the whole pyramid temple to ourselves - hiked up, view a the top, hiked down, with no one else around! Same at the cenotes. We visited two underground cenotes afterward and were the only people there for a swim which was pretty special. Would definitely recommend! Friendly service, good communication, great schedule. Price seems to be consistent with any other private tour.

I didn’t see it on the list, but we actually went to Ek Balam and the Xcanche Cenote. INCREDIBLE! Loved the whole day. The hours flew by. Our guide, Artuero, was so happy and fun and knowledgeable. We got to climb clear up the main pyramid and look around for miles in every direction. The Cenote was the perfect temperature to explore and swim and jump off the sides for an hour. What an amazing day!

We recently visited Tulum with our two teenage daughters and booked two half-day excursions with Absolute Adventures—and both were absolutely fantastic! We had the pleasure of having the same guide, Josh, for both trips, and he was truly exceptional. First, we did the half-day cenotes tour. Josh led us to two stunning cenotes: one inside a dramatic cave filled with incredible stalactites (perfect for that wow-factor swim), and another magical open cenote surrounded by beautiful lily pads. He shared fascinating insights into the geology and formation of cenotes while we swam, making the experience both fun and educational. The second excursion took us to the ancient Mayan ruins at Coba. Biking through the lush jungle paths to the site was a highlight—Josh kept our teens fully engaged the whole time with lively storytelling about Mayan history, pointing out wildlife, and answering every question. The girls were genuinely interested and excited, which is no small feat! The transportation was spotless (clean van with plenty of room), and there was a well-stocked cooler full of cold drinks and water—such a thoughtful touch after all the activity. Josh went above and beyond to make both days memorable, safe, and enjoyable for the whole family. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine care really set these tours apart. We wholeheartedly recommend Absolute Adventures for anyone visiting the Tulum area—whether you’re traveling with teens, kids, or just want an authentic, well-guided experience. Our driver and guide Cristina were amazing! We enjoyed our tour so much! The price we paid included everything, drinks, admission to Coba and the Cenotes , even our bikes at Coba. Our tour also included an authentic Mexican lunch. We paid for our drinks at lunch. My children, both 15 loved everything! This was a great private tour and worth the price!

This was really the highlight of our Cancun vacation - Coba is awesome and Cristina is an excellent tour guide; the Cenote was super refreshing.

This was an amazing excursion! It met all our expectations and Juan and Omar were extremely helpful, insightful and knowledgeable. We went to Coba Ruins in the morning before the crowds and then to a cenote for a nice cool off. Then off to an authentic Mayan lunch. Picked up on time from our resort in Tulum and dropped off in front as well. You must book this tour!

Our tour guide Alex was so incredibly knowledgeable and made our experience amazing! Learning about Mayan civilization was fascinating the cenote experience was the highlight of our trip! Such a wonderful, memorable tour! Alex, our guide, and Rodrigo, our driver, took great care of us. We toured Mayan ruins in Coba, swam in two cenotes and it even included a private lunch at a local restaurant. Alex was knowledgeable and taught us so much about Mayan culture. Restroom breaks were planned along our route and we were able to include water and drinks. Would completely recommend, and we'll use Absolute Adventure next time we come to Mexico!

We had an amazing tour with Absolute Adventure Mexico! Our guide and driver were very knowledgeable and friendly and we got to see all the sights we wanted at a good pace and avoided the crowds! They taught us a lot about Mexican culture and answered all our nerdy questions. They also took us to a great place for lunch!
