One of the most top notch in terms of scheduling, communication, accommodations, flexibility, access to cultural sites, authentic friendliness, and a packed day. Tania educates from knowledge and with her heart—she is a true gem! I’m so happy to have discovered this quality tour that included my go to destination: Coba with the Lagoon canoe experience sneaking up and becoming my favorite part of the day!

Amazing tour! A must do in Tulum. Thanks for the great time to the best guide Paloma and Aurelio!
Action packed and very worth it! The jungle tour and the Coba ruins were amazing, high octane fun. Prepare well for this trip as it is hot and energetic! Apart from the activities, the tour provides a lot of insight into Mayan culture, with visits to Mayan families and lots of info from the guides. Also the cenote visited is quiet, chill and you will likely have it to yourselves! The length of the day is spot on, as soon as you start feeling tired it is time to go home Our tour guide (I believe her name was lily?) was excellent, highly personable, easy going and knowledgeable about the Mayan way of life. Be sure to ask many questions.
Great tour of Coba led by guide Iber. If you get a chance this is worth visiting whilst staying in Quintana Roo.
Absolutely the most incredible tour with multiple awesome experiences. Coba ruins are awesome, you can climb one of the temples, but there's practically a whole city there to explore, and it's quiet, shady, very nice. We got to bike in there, too which was a surprise but definitely beat walking! We got a welcoming blessing ceremony by a Mayan elder and then to see wild spider and howler monkeys up close which was incredible and then zip lined and canoed across a beautiful lake. Then we swam in an incredible cenote which was beautiful and mysterious and only the few of us on the tour. Finally we had lunch with Mayan household that also runs a wildlife sanctuary where they show you the animals (and can even pet a few, my daughter was totally smitten with the faun, of course. And our guide, Santiago was totally chill and very knowledgeable and able to help people in 5 different languages, perhaps overqualified for the job,but we were really grateful for him. They managed to pick us up from the hotel in PDC and drop us at the ferry for our next leg. All in all worth every cent, an unforgettable trip!
Great experience! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area. Tour guide could not have been friendlier or more well prepared. Everything went exactly as the itinerary suggested. Loved visiting the ruins and the primate preserve.
This was our second trip with Mexico Kan Tours during our holiday in Tulum and they really are excellent. We love smaller groups of around six people as you get a more personal experience and usually reach the sights before the big coach tours. Our guide Paloma and driver Arelio were brilliant from start to finish. Communication about pickup was spot on and there was iced water in the van to refill bottles. Take a reusable bottle, sun cream, hat and bug spray. Cobá was a highlight. It is a large site in the jungle and you can choose to cycle or take a so called limousine. I cycled while my wife took the easier option. If you choose the limousine, remember to tip your driver. Cobá felt more like a community than Chichén Itzá and you can even climb one of the structures using the new wooden steps. It is a 42 metre climb so take your time. We then headed deeper into the jungle to meet a local wildlife guide. We were lucky to see a family of spider monkeys feeding as we arrived which was really special. Before walking into the jungle we were blessed by the village head which added to the experience. After a short walk we reached the lagoon for a gentle zip line and a canoe paddle. The views were stunning. A quick stop for local gifts followed before we visited a community owned cenote. We had it completely to ourselves. The wildlife, birds and butterflies were beautiful and there were turtles in the water that dive as soon as you get in. To finish the day we visited a local home for fresh home made food and lemonade which was a lovely touch. A brilliant day and the highlight of our holiday. Highly recommended. Thank you Paloma and Arelio.
Paloma and Hector was amazing, we get the best experience ever with them a lot of kindness, and knowledge. We appreciated this experience with our guides- we definitely recommend this experience with them
Physically demanding but worth the work! This was a great day seeing and experiencing Cobá, the monkey preserve and the local people. Our guide was great! Informative, enthusiastic and knowledgeable! We got a sense of the Mayan peoples way of life with delicious homemade lunch and a refreshing cenote swim. Overall the best excursion we had!
Lei was an amazing guide. Very informative and fun tour. Worth it!
Great mix of cultural, nature and adventurous activities. A well organised, informative and seamless tour + no crowds! We had an absolutely great day! Our fantastic guide Leire, was incredibly knowledgeable, funny and friendly, & Thanks to Arturo for getting us everywhere we needed to be safely. Highly recommend!
This was a great day! A lot of activities packed into a full day.
Paloma was a great guide and we had a great time!!!
It was a beautiful trip. Joseline was the best tour guide we could have imagined. It was incredibly fun with her.
We absolutely loved this tour, it felt far less touristy than many others we did. While Chichen Itza is awe-inspiring, Cobá was our favourite ruins site. Set deep in the jungle, it has a completely different atmosphere. On arrival, we hired bikes and cycled through the jungle to reach the main pyramid. The climb to the top is manageable, and the views over the jungle are incredible. Being able to climb the pyramid made the experience even more special. We then cycled back, stopping at other ruins along the way where Joseline gave fantastic and informative talks. Afterwards, we headed to Punta Laguna. The reserve is quite remote, passing through smaller Mayan villages which were lovely to see. Once there, a guide took us to spot a family of spider monkeys in the jungle. We then hiked to a zip line and flew across the lake, followed by a peaceful canoe ride back. Next was a cenote well off the beaten path, surrounded by nature. It felt incredibly tranquil, we even shared the space with bats, terrapins, and catfish while swimming. It was a truly relaxing and unique experience. We finished with lunch hosted by a Mayan family, who prepared fresh and delicious food. It was a special experience to be welcomed into their space. Joseline was a fantastic guide, passionate, knowledgeable, and clearly enthusiastic about Mexican nature and Mayan culture. Manuel was an excellent driver, expertly navigating some very rough roads. We would wholeheartedly recommend this tour.
What an amazing day! The ruins were breath taking, the Nature Reserve was beautiful and filled with Monkeys, the Cenote was bigger than I expected, and the final meal was so fresh and delicious. Shout out to our tour guide Niko! He was extremely knowledgeable and super personable. Definitely book this tour!
Awesome, comprehensive tour!!! If you love history, culture and nature - this one is for you! Our guide Niko was amazing! Super knowledgeable and chill dude, would book with him again in a heart beat. It was the best part of our trip to Mexico!
Our tour guide Luigi was the best: relaxed, interested in the Mayan history and culture, friendly to all of us…the best you could ask for! The tour was planned well with diverse experiences. A great day!
We enjoyed this tour so much!!! Our guide Niko was wonderful and he had a lot of knowledge on Mayan history! We would highly recommend him and would book a tour with him again! Everything was so fun and interesting! Coba is beautiful! The Punta Laguna reserve was lots of fun and we saw a baby monkey with its family! The Mayan family experience was very enjoyable and the food was delicious! The cenote at the end was so refreshing and quiet and there’s 2 options of jumps for the extra thrill! Definitely will book with this company again and request our guide, Niko!!
My family of five did this tour with two other adults. Our family has done several tours like this in different countries, and I would rate this tour highly. One of the reasons we picked this particular one was that it was the most recommended by ChatGPT. The tour guide, Luigi, Victor, was excellent and knowledgeable. There are four main activities: a visit to Cobá, punta Laguna, Mayan lunch and cenote. We enjoyed all of the activities. The cenote that we visited was not crowded at all. Our group was the only one there. This cenote was much more authentic than others we had been to. There were turtles and plenty of bats.
Marco and Roberto very knowledgeable guides!
This was an excellent tour with an informative and helpful guide. The lunch was one of the nicest meals I have had in Mexico. The tour was able to make changes to accommodate me at 80 years old The Mayan site is well worth visiting.
Amazing experience with Marco and Roberto! Perfect for active couples seeking an adventurous outing!
Great experience. Really nice and friendly Guys (Driver Roberto & Guide Marco). Awesome service. A lot of explanations. Good time schedule, no stress. Wonderful day trip. Thanks Roberto & Marco. Best regards from Josi, Leni & Markus
Such an incredible experience! This tour was packed with fun activities and sightseeing but never felt rushed or overwhelming. In fact we felt very laid back and were able to soak it all in. Our guide, Marco, was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions as they popped up over the course of the trip. Highly recommend this tour for nature and animal lovers. We were even lucky enough to spot some spider monkeys in their natural habitat with the help of a skilled local guide. Loved the leisurely bike ride through the ruins, complete with a history lesson. The local family who gave us a tour of their property and a home cooked lunch were so warm and kind. A great day with a little something for everyone. Also would like to give a special shoutout to the driver who rerouted us on our way back as we had to take a much longer detour due to unforeseen circumstances, and the guide who kept us informed. Staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone was safe and taken care of. Thank you for the beautiful memories!
We had a fantastic day with Mexico Kan Tours visiting Coba, Punta Laguna, a cenote, and having lunch prepared by a family who also owns an animal rescue. The pickup was significantly later than the time we were told, but the tour company reached out to us to advise us so that we weren't concerned. Bike rentals were included with the Coba tour allowing you to see everything in a quick but comprehensive way. The tour guide provided us with the history of the sites and answered all of the questions we had. The monkeys were active at Punta Laguna so we were able to see a bunch of them, and then got to participate in zip lining, canoeing, an a Mayan ritual performed by a Shaman. The excellent authentic lunch was prepared by a family who also runs an animal sanctuary, and the cenote chosen was beautiful - both activities were ones that we would not have found ourselves without Kan Tours, and both were very enjoyable. Thank you Marco for the tours, and Hector for driving us where we needed to get safely.
We really enjoyed our tour to the Cobá archeological site and the Punta Laguna nature reserve in a small group with Kan Tours. Because it's less popular than Chichen Itzá, Cobá provided better opportunities to explore it. You even ride a bike at the site from one place to another. The visit to Punta Laguna allowed for close encounters with some of the local fauna, appreciation of the jungle ecosystem, and the opportunity to support the community that manages the reserve. Our guide Marco was very knowledgeable in both the archeological and environmental aspects of the tour. Great experience.
Such a wonderful trip - Marco and Armando were fantastic and all the activities were excellent. We really enjoyed our day - thank you!
My family took this tour with Iber, and he was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely funny, and overall such a down‑to‑earth guide. Coba was fascinating, and his detailed understanding of the site made the experience even better. We especially appreciated the care he took when introducing us to the Mayan family he made us feel completely at home. Ignacio, our guide at the spider monkey reserve, was wonderful as well. He even taught our son how to call for the monkeys, which made the experience especially memorable. The entire trip was meaningful for our family, and we’re so grateful for both guides.
Fantastic day with Luigi our guide. Thoughtful well curated trip right down to the snacks and coffee stop once we were on our way. Do this trip when in Tulum its a little bit of everything!!!!
Luigi was an AMAZING guide that explained everything with great detail. He was knowledgeable and passionate of the history and Mayan culture. Saw lots of spider monkeys and ended at an incredible cenote. Would recommend to anyone in Tulum that wants an awesome day of activities!! Make sure to bring some extra cash if you want to purchase any handmade goods and to tip the guides! Ector was a great driver and stayed with the vehicle at each stop so you could leave belongings that weren’t needed in the van.
What an outstanding tour with fantastic guide Tania! My mother and I decided to go on this tour as it was one of the easiest ways for us to get to Punta Laguna, which ended up being an excellent decision. This tour is very well crafted to be out of Tulum, as all the destinations are within proximity and therefore maximize the activities you can do within the day without feeling rushed. Our driver (Axel) was excellent and got us to each destination safely. We lucked out with the tour size as we were only with one lovely couple (total of 4 guests). The couple were very like-minded to us with their interest in nature, history, and culture, which made us enjoy the tour even more than if it were private! The tour went from about 8am (pick up at hotel is included in price) and we were returned to our hotel around 5pm. Our pick-up was a bit late (20 minutes) but this was communicated to us ahead of time through WhatsApp so we weren't worried. The cost of the tour covered all entry fees which is a huge plus when going to multiple sites/reserves. Tania (our amazing guide) took care of all the entries, leaving us to relax and enjoy the day. During the drive we were also given complimentary snacks, including tasty homemade seed and honey bars as well as bananas. There was also a massive water cooler for us to refill our bottles as needed. Our itinerary started with Coba and bicycling through the jungle to quickly get between sites of the ruins. I personally loved this morning bike ride, and Tania even spotted a monkey for us and showed a super cool stingless bee hive in a tree! After the guided tour of Coba (to which Tania provided excellent historical/cultural context), we went to Punta Laguna where we experienced a blessing, then went for a short walk and were treated to seeing the beautiful spider monkeys! We learned a bit about their behaviour and then went on to do a short zip-line across the lagoon. My mother is unable to do zip-lines due to an injury, but a wonderful alternative was provided as she and a guide went to canoe across the lagoon to meet us before we all canoed back again. After Punta Laguna, we went to a lovely cenote located on a Mayan family's property, so it was very quiet yet the facilities were clean and comfortable. The cenote has lots of bats, fish, and even turtles, so we enjoyed our swim there. Our final stop was to the home of another Mayan family which has a wild animal rescue/rehabilitation area (UMA certified) with the primary purpose of increasing the population of endangered species. The meal we had there was delicious, and we were provided with a vegetarian accomodation. Our meal included rice and vegetables (perfectly seasoned) with green salsa, homemade corn tortillas, and cold lemonade. Overall, this wrapped up an incredible day with kind and knowledgable guides, sweet fellow tour guests, and beautiful wildlife and sights. This tour is great for couples, families, and friends who enjoy seeing the real Mexico and learning about Mayan history, local wildlife, and seeing natural surroundings. Thank you so much for the perfect day!
my husband and i completed this tour while staying in tulum. overall a great experience just as advertised. iber showed great appreciation for mayan culture.
Highly interesting, full of activities. Loved it. This is the best way to see the Coba site and Punta Laguna at the same time.
An amazing trip, so much packed into the day but didn’t feel rushed. Every part of the trip was so special and gave us a new experiences that we will cherish. We started the day at the Coba ruins and the bikes, we got there early so the temp was perfect and wasn’t busy, Miguel our guide was attentive and talked us through the history and always had time for questions- he’s so patient and interested in his guests. We then went off to the jungle where we were taken by one of the guides to watch spider monkeys swinging through the trees, then down the zip line which was great, I’m terrified of heights but with gentle support from the punta Laguna guide I did it ! I’m so happy I did ! After the canoe ride we went to visit the Mayan family, the food was beautiful the family was friendly and organised and they catered for me and my veggie partner. My only negative about this part was the family do have animals in enclosures which I really don’t agree with, I don’t think this is necessary for tourists as the family cooked meal and environment was a good enough attraction. Then off to a cenote .. the cenote itself isn’t one of the big open ones but it was still a lovely experience to swim in it and watch the bats flying and squeaking, and the turtle floating around !! At the back of the cenote there is a lagoon .. I would recommend spending 10 mins just observing the birds there - we saw a red cardinal .. it’s such a beautiful and unspoilt part of nature. I cannot recommend this trip enough to anyone who is interested to going off the beaten track, and after something a little different. Big shout out to Miguel a great guide and also to Victor our driver who was so polite and helpful throughout. They were a great team who made us felt special throughout
Cesar our guide and Jonathan our driver were fantastic. Cesar was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. We had a lovely experience and would definitely book another tour in the future.
The tour is awesome! I had a wonderful experience on this small-group tour. The itinerary was very well balanced, including Coba Ruins, wildlife spotting in the jungle, zip-lining, kayaking, and a cenote visit. Our guide, Alonso, was fantastic — he was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable, and his explanations made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Visiting Coba in the morning was especially nice, with cool weather, beautiful birds, and the chance to climb the pyramid for an amazing view of the jungle. The zip line over the lagoon was exciting and definitely a highlight, followed by kayaking back across the water. We also enjoyed a local-style lunch at a ranch surrounded by animals, which added a fun and relaxing touch to the day. Overall, this was a memorable and well-organized tour, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Alonso was great and everything was very well paced, not spending too long at any one activity. We biked, climbed ruins, saw monkeys and turkeys, zip lined, canoed, and went to a cenote.
The Coba/Punta Laguna tour is one of the best tours I've done. It was a great variety of experiences for a good price. It was a full 8 hour day but not a too long day. We left Tulum before 8am and were back before 5pm. Hard to say what the highlight was because I enjoyed all of it: climbing Coba, watching spider monkeys swing between trees, ziplining to a canoe paddle across the laguna, learning about bird rehabilitation and breeding efforts to repopulate the area, eating a delicious local meal, and jumping into a cenote. Alonso was an excellent guide; super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history, culture, and nature we experienced. He made sure that we went straight to the Coba pyramid first to avoid the crowds and heat. It was a good call because the site get much busier over the hour that we were there. Highly recommend +++
The tour featured L ots of variety and each part was just the right length. Our guide Carlos was hugely knowledgeable and made everything fun whilst delivering information on all topics from ancient Mayan civilisation to local wildlife.
We did 3 tours with Luigi ( biosphere, Cobá caves and cenotes tour) the guide is very friendly and charismatic, tours were super funny and interesting so we did 3 of them in a row! Really recommend the guide. Many thanks to the driver Armando
Wonderful day with Marco who looked after us extremely well. His knowledge and conversation was excellent. The door-to-door pick up and drop off is great, and not available with other tour companies. The snacks in the car were a great bonus! We also felt we got to do an excellent range of activities - cycle through the forest, visit ruins, walk through jungle and see monkeys, Mayan ceremony, see farm animals and enjoy a delicious lunch, zip line, canoe, and a stunning swim in a cenote. It is outdoorsy and activities based, but at a very leisurely pace and the walks/cycling are short and easy, so it would be suitable for a range of ages and fitness levels. Good value for money.
Had the a fantastic day with Marco. Coban ruins, monkey reserve, nature reserve, zip line, canoeing, jumping into a cenote and a traditional Mayan lunch and ceremony. Very informative and managed to do plenty of activities without feeling rushed.
This is a fantastic day tour, and even though it might seem a little expensive at first glance, it is packed with activities. From cycling around the Coba ruins, to kayaking across a beautiful lake, spotting howler monkeys, swimming in a cenote, visiting an animal sanctuary, being blessed by a Mayan priest, and even zip lining, it’s worth every penny, Our amazing guide, César, was super knowledgeable about Mayan history, and I learnt so many fascinating facts. My only recommendation is to make sure you are physically fit as there is a lot of exercise involved. You will definitely sleep well afterwards! Superb.
This is a great excursion if you want a day packed full of culture and adventure. I wish Trip Advisor did a better job of including/explaining the activities. Carlos was a great guide as he took us to the Coba ruins early- so there were not a lot of tourists yet- and we biked to the sites. Carlos was great at explaining the Natan civilizations, culture, and language. You will definitely get a workout, riding your bike and climbing up the steps so wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes. And then we went to a reserve where there are jaguars and spider and howler monkeys. We hiked through the jungle and zip-lined across the lagoon. Carlos introduced us to a Mayan shaman who did a little ceremony for us. Lunch was made by a Mayan family, who runs a wildlife rescue. To top it off, the cenote we visited was not heavy with tourists. It’s a nice way to refresh after all the activities.
We had Carlos for our guide and he was absolutely wonderful! The whole day was filled with fun and different things. Carlos is so knowledgeable and made the day even better. I can’t say enough about this tour, everyone was so kind, especially Maria and her husband where we ate lunch.
Alonzo was a great tour, the experience was special and to be remembered. It was amazing to see how Mayan people live and overally a great day!
Alonso was terrific. We did so much in one day! Alonso’s expertise on the Mayan and Mexican cultures was very informative. The trip included Coba, great to do with bikes; zipline, a bit of canoeing, walking through the jungle and a relaxing swim in a cenote with little fish and turtles. Wonderful day excursion!
It’s great tour to learn a lot about the local Maya culture incl. ruins and food. The cenote was stunning. Big thanks to tour guide Lea who was just amazing and very welcoming!
Our guide Iber took us on a fantastic tour full of adventure and did an outstanding job creating a fun, entertaining and informative day. The food was delicious and there were so many great moments we weren’t expecting. Not only do we absolutely recommend the tour but also want to thank our fantastic guide who was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about showing us all the places featured.
