The hotel overall was okay, but there are a few things that should definitely be improved. First, I did not feel very safe. There was no bracelet, wristband, or any kind of access control when entering the hotel, which means anyone could easily walk in. This made the place feel less secure. Also, the young woman at the reception never even looked at me or greeted me when I passed by. This did not feel welcoming, and honestly it also makes the place feel less safe when the front desk staff are not attentive to who is coming and going. In addition, the bathrooms should have a place to properly hold the shampoo bottles in the shower. Small details like that would make the experience more comfortable. My towels were never changed during my four-day stay. Paying attention to these details would make a big difference for guests.

Xscape in Tulum was our last stop during our ten day Mexico vacation and we wished we had arrived sooner! The ambiance and landscaping was incredible. We stayed in the building in the back and had absolutely no issues. Our room was extremely spacious, clean and the decor was lovely. I did not expect an apartment style setting, having a large kitchen/dining area that included a decent sized fridge was major plus. I found it very tranquil! It was so nice to wake up with the sun and open up the very large (screened) patio which opened up to the lush, green trees and plants. All while my husband slept in the bedroom. The bathroom was spacious and my husband and I enjoyed sharing the shower together. PERSONALLY I had no complaints about the location. Noise wasn't an issue and at night I felt safe knowing they closed the gates at the entrance. Xscape made our visit to Tulum absolutely awesome! We are planning on returning to Tulum and will definitely book this hotel again. We also enjoyed our daily morming visit from the resident cat. I think about the time we spent there every day since. 10 out of 10. We also appreciated that 7/11 was right on the corner.
Spacious rooms and the possibility to check in late, which is definitely convenient if you arrive in the evening or at night. The location is a bit of a mixed bag. It’s just on the edge of La Valetta, and behind the hotel you’ll find a few nice restaurants within walking distance. However, the front side faces a very busy road. I had a room at the front and there was quite a lot of noise, also because the sound insulation isn’t great. I imagine the rooms at the back are quieter and a better choice. The hotel itself feels rather lifeless, not much atmosphere and at times it felt a bit empty. There is a pool area where you can relax and get sun until sunset, which is nice, but the water didn’t look very clean and it seemed like the pool wasn’t well maintained. Overall, okay if you don’t find another option, but I wasn’t particularly impressed.
Nice hotel. Lovely pool area. Nice vibes. Rated the room somewhat lower, as the shower was weak (after getting in at 4am, there was no water), no chair in the room, no hairdryer and a somewhat dirty looking blanket on the bed. Good location. Some on street parking. Nice staff, reasonably priced breakfast
I love this place! I’ve been coming to Tulum for the past 10 years and have stayed here many times. I have tried to change it up wanted to explore other different hotels & AirBnb’s, but I always come back! it’s my absolute favourite in all of Tulum! Perfect location… 15 min walk to Ado bus… 20min cycle to the beach… just around the corner from main Valeta Calle 7 with all the best cafes/ restaurants/ bars etc. large rooms, comfy beds, great relaxing pool area, incredible food and service! I will come back every year, it’s my home away from home 🙌
