Save your money and peace of mind—do not book this hotel. What is advertised is a complete illusion compared to the reality of staying here. The listing is incredibly deceptive. It completely hides the fact that this is NOT an all-inclusive property, which totally ruined our budget. They also advertised a pool and resort activities; in reality, there are zero community pools and nothing to do. The "pool" they brag about is literally a tiny, glorified bathtub inside the room. To make matters worse, the beach is completely choked with piles of seaweed, making it 100% unusable. Our first room was entirely uninhabitable. The AC was completely broken, leaving the room at stifling temperatures, the fridge didn't work, and the room keys failed constantly. While management did finally move us to another room, it only happened after hours of arguing and waiting around in a miserable, hot room. A hotel shouldn't require hours of fighting just to get a room with basic, functioning AC and electricity. This place is a masterclass in false advertising and broken promises. Avoid at all costs!

This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have ever had. We chose this hotel specifically because of its beachfront location, the beautiful beach advertised by the property, and the premium room features. Unfortunately, none of these could be enjoyed during our stay. The beach was completely covered with massive amounts of seaweed and appeared not to have been cleared for days. It was impossible to walk along the beach, relax by the water, swim, or even enter the ocean. The beach and sea are clearly among the main selling points of this hotel, yet they were entirely unusable. The situation was made even worse by the overwhelming stench from the decomposing seaweed. The smell was so strong that it caused nausea. We had booked a room with a private plunge pool on the balcony, but we could not use it because sitting outside for more than a few minutes was unbearable. A key feature of the room we paid for was effectively unusable. As a result, we made the decision to leave Tulum immediately after arrival and book alternative accommodation at Hotel Xcaret where the seaweed was minimised through barrieres and the beach was cleaned daily. Therefore there was almost no impact and the water was cristal clear. What truly turned this from a disappointing stay into an unacceptable experience was the hotel’s complete lack of customer service afterward. We contacted the hotel, explained the situation in detail, requested a refund, and sent follow-up messages. Despite multiple attempts to communicate, we have received absolutely no response. Not a single acknowledgment, apology, or effort to address our concerns. What we do not understand is why a hotel charging premium rates believes it is acceptable to ignore guests entirely when serious complaints are raised. If you are booking this hotel because of the beach, the sea, or the outdoor experience, we strongly recommend checking current conditions very carefully before committing. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this property and are deeply disappointed by both the conditions we encountered and the way our complaint has been handled.
I had an amazing stay at TAGO Tulum. The room was spacious, beautiful, and perfect for relaxing. I loved the his-and-her sinks and shower setup, plus the separate toilet room for extra privacy. The plunge pool was also very spacious, and the staff cleaned it quickly anytime I requested without a long wait. The food was fresh and good every time, and room service was surprisingly fast. The hotel itself is stunning and gives such a peaceful luxury vibe. I went during heavy seaweed season, but that honestly didn’t stop my trip at all. I can’t take away points for nature. The few bugs I saw didn’t bother me either — we are literally in the jungle, and this was their home before the hotel was built. I only saw maybe two during my entire stay. One thing I loved was the location. It’s walking distance to beach clubs and restaurants if you don’t mind a 5–15 minute walk. I stayed here solo while celebrating my graduation, so it was the perfect balance of peaceful alone time and fun. During the day I relaxed and enjoyed my room, and when I wanted to party I went to Taboo Tulum or took the ADO bus to Cancun for about $35 round trip. I would definitely recommend this hotel for solo travelers who want peace and relaxation or for couples looking for a beautiful getaway.
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Tago Hotel in Tulum. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth, which set the tone for the entire experience. The staff is truly exceptional—kind, attentive, always ready to help, and very thoughtful with their recommendations. Everyone made us feel cared for and at ease. The sushi restaurant was a real highlight: incredibly fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. The hotel itself is stunning, very comfortable, and has a peaceful, elegant atmosphere. What really makes it special, though, is the amazing people who work there. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back!
Great hotel. Only 20 minute walk from the main action, which was not a problem at all. We had a junior suite with private dip pool, which made for a great experience. Remember that the restaurants on site are not affiliated with the hotel if you have resort credits- do not eat at Fara Fara because they will lie to you about being able to use resort credits there when you can’t.
