We absolutely loved this hotel. It was pretty centralized to all the activities we wanted to do (some more towards Cancun, some closer to Valladolid, etc.) Francisco, Hector, and Fernando were very welcoming and friendly. We were one of only a few people staying here so no crowds at all and lots of parking. Our room had a private mini pool that was cold but it felt nice from the heat and humidity. Definitely would recommend staying here!

I paid for villa suite for a 5 day stay. unfortunately, the AC's in these suites do not cool the rooms up at all due to the villa being extremely high. It is a small window like unit the villas are huge. Our room was about 98 degrees with the AC on. They offered to move us to another villa but it was the same issue. I do think they need to be realistic about the villas. While Mexico is common to be hot, no one wants to be uncomfortable. So unfortunately we had to stay in a normal room, and when trying too contact the hotel for our refund on the difference they are just ghosting us unfortunately. Other that the villa the normal room was fine. thy do daily room clean up & they kept turning off our AC when they did that which was also very annoying.
We originally purchased a villa suite. They are very nice inside like an actual villa, unfortunately the AC units these villas have do not cool up the rooms at all. Our 1st villa was 90 degrees when we arrived (and the ac was already on) so we had to stay in a normal room the 1st night. They offered us a different villa on day 2, but same issue. Realistically the small AC unit can no way ventilate their villas as they have extremely tall ceilings and are very large (and nice.) Its unfortunate because thats why we chose this place but I think the property needs to be realistic about this issue, no one wants to come on vacation and stay in a 90 degree room especially after a long day. While i get this is common in Mexico most people are coming from other countries and a hot hotel is not comfortable. We had to move to a normal room for our stay, they do come in and do room service cleaning while we were gone and they also turned off the AC, we had it running because of how hot these rooms are & because they need to run ALL day for them to be comfortable (this is the small room not the villa.) Im assuming this was done to try and save electricity. There would have been no way we could have enjoyed the villa like this, realistically I think they need to reconsider 2-3 AC units per room. Breakfast was really great, parking was easy & staff waa friendly and pool was cleaned daily. If the AC issue was fixed here this would be a 5 star hotel. Their biggest downside here is the blazing hot rooms. Staff was nice and cleaniness waa great its only the AC that will prevent us from coming back.
I loved my stay at Prana Boutique Hotel! The rooms were gorgeous with great amenities and a modern but comfortable feel. Everything was really clean. There is a restaurant with good breakfast service, and you’re a 10 minute walk from a dozen different restaurants, bars, and good shopping. You are not close enough to walk to the beach, but it’s easy to get a ride or rent a bike if you want to go to the beach frequently (which is why I gave location 4/5 stars). But I think being in central Tulum is much more accessible and fun. The hotel staff are also amazing and so kind. Shout out to Daniel for being the best bartender! I would definitely stay here again and will recommend Prana to anyone I know visiting Tulum!
Daniel & Aimee were amazing on the bar (making the effort to speak some Spanish definitely helps), the rooms were great and the breakfast is good (there’s several options to tide you over such as eggs/pancakes/waffles just simple but sets you up for the day) with free refills on juice/coffee. The reviews that are fairly low seem to highlight issues with the above but given where the hotel is and it doesn’t seem to press that it’s super high end I think it was generally really good for the money.
