I had an uninspiring stay at Mamasan. I mostly felt like there were a lot of things missing considering the price. The wifi was spotty, and there is not fridge. This means that you are probably going out to eat for every meal, which could get expensive quickly. Also, there was very little fresh water in the room. Perhaps only 2-3 liters. For two people that is not enough, so you can also buy water. I also found the layout of the room to be odd. There are 360 windows, which is nice, but leads to 0 privacy. Also, the door has seperate interior and exterior locks, so if you are with 2 people, one Inside and one outside, someone is locked out (or in) the room. Overall, nice place, but for the money there are better places to stay.

I recently stayed at Mamasan Treehouses & Cabins in Tulum and overall had a nice experience, especially for a short stay. The room itself was beautiful, very clean, and smelled fresh upon arrival. I was pleasantly surprised that there were no bugs at all, not even mosquitoes which is quite rare for jungle-style accommodations in Tulum. The shower was great with good water pressure, and the staff were very kind and welcoming throughout the stay. One of the highlights was the view. We could watch the sunset directly from our room, which made the experience feel really special. The privacy level was also excellent, making it a great spot for couples or anyone looking for a quiet, intimate space. The location is also a plus, as it’s right by the beach with a free public access point not too far away. I felt safe in the evenings, although I didn’t stay out very late. That said, there are a few downsides to keep in mind. The Wi-Fi was quite weak, which may be an issue if you need to work remotely. Parking is not very convenient, and there can be noticeable noise from nearby parties in the hotel zone. The bed is a bit on the hard side, and while there is air conditioning, it’s not very strong. In terms of amenities, the room is fairly minimal—there’s no fridge, minibar, pool, hair dryer, or extra touches like body lotion, which can be missed after a day in the sun. The room is also not very large, and due to the design, there are no curtains, so you’ll likely wake up with the sunrise if you’re sensitive to light. Overall, it’s a great choice for a short, aesthetic stay in Tulum if you value design, cleanliness, and location, and don’t mind sacrificing some comfort and amenities.
I stayed at Mamasan Treehouse Hotel and it was unacceptable. We found what appeared to be rat droppings on the bed. On the bed. That alone is a major sanitation failure. There was also a water vat in the room for drinking water. The two people who drank from it both became violently ill. Management showed no urgency and refused to offer any refund or meaningful resolution. For the price point in Tulum, this is inexcusable. I would not stay here again.
Absolutely recommended!! The location is spectacular, surrounded by nature and still close to everything. The room was beautiful, clean, and very well presented. I stayed in the dome and it was a magical experience, watching the sunset through the window and being surrounded by the jungle was unforgettable. It’s peaceful and quiet at night, perfect for a restful sleep. A truly special and relaxing stay! I would definitely come back☺️
On check in the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We originally booked a bungalow, and found the room to be clean, spacious and comfortable. However, we then got a free upgrade to a room with a glass dome and it was phenomenal. I loved the bathtub, views and style of the room. It was super clean and comfy, I would not hesitate to stay again in this room class. When first booking, I was not sure what to expect and was on the fence about staying, but honestly it was all so worth it. I would definitely recommend the upgraded rooms, you will not regret it. Also, the location is fab too. Great if you want to hit the beach clubs and local restaurants.
