We took this tour our last day in Tromso and so glad we did! Aneeta was an amazing guide who really knew the territory and took her time to show us the most wonderful views with photos. Delicious lunch of traditional waffles and brown cheese with hot drinks. We highly recommend this tour! 10/10

Absolutely loved the Arctic Landscapes Fjords tour with Aneta from Wandering Owl Tours! I didn’t want to drive on snowy roads and look for places to park off of winding mountain roads in snow drifts! She knew all the places to stop for the most amazing views, safely. We walked out into fields and didn’t disappear into the snow or through cracked ice, ha ha, and took some fabulous pictures! We didn’t have a full van, and it was fun to chat with the others from different countries. All of us girls had an excellent time! We stopped for a picnic, with some yummy local foods, with a great view of surfers braving the freezing waters in March! Aneta took great pics of us, and stopped wherever we asked, and stayed as long as we liked. It was a relaxing day with beautiful views and a friendly guide, Aneta.

Max led a great tour in challenging weather! When the snowshoeing tour was cancelled due to wet and stormy weather, Wandering Owl suggested this fjord tour road trip instead and we were happy to sign up. Max shared his knowledge of the mountains, climate and sea, taking us to a number of picturesque stops to learn more and enjoy the stunning views and landscape. We experienced all weathers on the tour but somehow managed a nice picnic lunch and a hot drink on the beach. I’m giving this 5 stars because Max and Chris (our driver) did everything they could to give us a good time and the photos that were taken and shared with the group were beautiful despite somewhat difficult conditions!

I had the most amazing experience seeing the fjords and the weather was exactly what I hoped for! Our guide Evgeni was very informative and knowledgeable on Tromsø. He made the trip extra special by taking incredible photos of us too. He’s very friendly and makes sure you’re comfortable throughout the tour. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed the Fjord Road trip with Ellie. She was an excellent guide and managed to accommodate everyone in the group. The minibus was very comfortable and Ellie explained the tour very clearly at the beginning. The company are very organised and provide a light lunch of a vegan sandwich and cookie and hot drinks. We also really appreciated that they provided the grips for our shoes to stop us slipping on the ice. The scenery was absolutely stunning and we had plenty of time to take photos at each stop. Ellie also took some excellent photos and sent them to us. I would definitely recommend Wandering Owl. We booked several tours with them and, although there were not enough people on some of the days to go ahead with the tour, they rearranged them all for us so we didn't miss out on anything. They are very responsive to emails and very professional.

Our tour with Evgeni was fantastic. He was fun, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour such a great experience. He was very conscious of our safety and drove well too. He took great photos, found lovely locations for us to stop and see the spectacular scenery. I would have happily driven longer and had the tour go on for a few more hours.

At the beginning, Anna gave us a very detailed safety briefing, more thorough than any I had ever experienced before, which made us feel very reassured from the start. Throughout the trip, she was very attentive to our needs and naturally shared a lot of interesting information about this land, helping us appreciate the scenery in a much deeper way. Her driving was also very smooth and comfortable. In the end, we were lucky enough to enjoy sandwiches by a beautiful fjord, which became one of the most unforgettable memories of our trip. I would definitely recommend Anna and the Wandering Owl team’s tour to anyone visiting Tromsø!

Anna is a very nice gide, gives interesting info about the region and history, nice personality. Managed well the situation when an other group of tourists was on the same spot. Personally i would have liked a longer tour and off the beaten track but it was a nice anyway, Anna made shure off that. Wildlife spotted : seals, reindeer, sea-eagle.

This was a nice scenic tour outside of Tromsø. The tour began when we met our guide, Max, in front of the Scandic Ishavshotel by the pier in the city at 10 am and ended when he dropped us back off at the same spot around 3 pm. We visited several scenic spots such as Stakken, Grøtfjord, Ersfjordbotn and more and got to capture lots of great photos and videos at each spot we visited. We had a nice little picnic stop too in between our stops at Grøtfjord and Ersfjordbotn which we enjoyed. It was a nice half-day tour however we had a little road accident where another van clipped the left side mirror of our van towards the end which prevented us from returning to Tromsø earlier around 2 to 2:30 pm as originally planned… thankfully it wasn’t too bad of an accident. Despite that minor setback towards the end though.. we had a great time on this tour overall and a big thank you to our guide, Max, for taking care of us and capturing great photos for us at each of the stops. If you’re looking for a nice half-day tour of the fjords and landscapes surrounding Tromsø definitely look into booking this tour with Wandering Owl, it doesn’t take up your whole day and I highly recommend it! - Nolan

The Winter Fjord Road Trip with Wandering Owl was hands down the highlight of our trip to Tromsø. A total must-do if you want to experience the area beyond the city: stunning fjords, beautiful beaches, and countless postcard views that make you want to stop for photos again and again. A huge thank you to Ellie — she was incredibly friendly and made the whole day feel easy and fun. Great vibes, clear communication, and just the right mix of interesting information and relaxed storytelling. And yes, technically it’s “just” a bus tour — but honestly, it was one of the best we’ve done. The route is excellent, the stops are well chosen, and the pacing feels just right. You get exactly what you’re hoping for: fresh air, spectacular scenery, and a really well put-together day trip. We would 100% do it again and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Tromsø.

I strongly recommend the Winter Fjord Road Trip with Wandering Owl for anyone looking to get outside of downtown Tromsø and experience a bit of Arctic Norway. Our tour guide, Max, was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The small group aspect (7 guests with 1 tour guide) made the experience more like an adventure with friends than a drive with strangers. Amazing experience with Ellie as our guide! There are no words for the natural beauty of the fjords in winter. We loved the lunch in a frozen beach with breathtaking view where the food was all vegan :) thank you!

We had an amazing trip thanks to Aneta. The weather was cloudy when we started off however Aneta is very knowledgeable and took us to the best viewing spots at the perfect time when the clouds parted. The scenery was magical and Aneta’s photography skills were an added bonus. Would highly recommend doing this tour of the fjords.

The tour was nice, we stopped at scenic spots and had lunch by the water. Our guide, Aneta, took good care of us, drove safely and we had a lovely conversation along the way. Even in bad weather the tour was great!

Aneta and Ellie were great and very kind! We enjoyed seeing the fjords and the many beautiful sites. They adjusted the timing of stops to avoid the big bus tours. It was also great to have a tour which served us a vegan meal! Just make sure you note that you are vegan when booking. The chai tea was great too. I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures.

We got really lucky with our Fjord Road experience today (12 Dec 2025). We were only five people, the weather in Tromsø was perfect, and our guide Max went above and beyond. He took us to stunning Fjord photography spots and made sure we were always in beautiful, quiet locations away from other tourists, which made the whole trip feel extra private and special. Max also used his professional camera to capture photos for us to keep, and he patiently answered all our curious questions, making the tour even more interesting. Really enjoyed our tour with Max today! My friend and I had just finished a Northern Lights tour and were out until 2:30am so we were hesitant about doing another tour that same morning, but I'm glad we did! It was very relaxing, and a great way to see the fjords. Max was a fantastic guide, driver and photographer. Highly recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful tour through the fjords nearby Tromso. Although the weather made for icy roads, we always felt safe during the ride. The reindeer were a highlight.

We had a brilliant day with Anna on the winter fjord road trip. The weather wasn't on our side with extremely icy roads, road closures and storm/dangerous weather warnings so Anna made a very sensible decision to take us inland rather than the typical seaside trip. She showed us some beautiful spots not too far from Tromso, and worked so hard to make the most of it for us despite the harsh weather conditions, including a sheltered snowy picnic with tasty food and plenty of stops to see and photograph the spectacular scenery. Anna was such good company and so knowledgeable about the local landscape and culture, we learned so much from her, from facts about fjords and native trees to viking myths and sami traditions, and some fun stories about spies! Even though we didn't have the bright sunny skies we hoped for, we had an excellent experience. Thank you so much! ✨️💞

Had a very nice and interesting trip (hosted by Anna). Even with harsh weather condition we were able to witness some beautiful scenery and get some nice insights about the area.

We had a great time! Our tour was about 4 hours (10am-2pm). My husband and I are on our honeymoon and we’re so glad we booked the fjord road trip! It was so nice and beautiful seeing Tromso and surrounding areas in the daylight! Our tour guide Aneth was wonderful- she took us to several beautiful locations and we got beautiful photos! We did have a bathroom stop included, which I appreciated! Aneth answered all our questions and taught us about the local wildlife as well as the history of Tromso. She was very professional and kind. Aneth provided us with vegan sandwiches and coffee as well as a homemade cookie! We enjoyed the company as well as the scenery. Would definitely book again!

I joined the tour completely spontaneously – it was fully booked, but luckily someone didn’t show up and I could take their spot. It was pure luck, as it turned out to be one of the most beautiful tours I’ve ever experienced! The scenery was breathtaking, and our guide Max showed us the best spots with so much passion and knowledge. He set a great mood from the start and spoke clearly and slowly in English, making everything easy to understand. What I loved most was that he regularly paused to allow questions and real conversations – he truly shared the moment with us.

Did a day trip with Max and saw some amazing Fjords, especially Grotenfjord. It was nothing like what we had seen before. Max was informative and passionate about explaining things to us. Had an amazing time out during a fjord tour with Wanderjng Owl. The sceneries were breathtaking and saw so many different places in a few hours. We even saw skme reindeer. Max, our guide was amazing! He shared a lot of interesting and meaningful information and took us to some great spots. The lunch was yummy, homemade and vegan. Such a great touch!

We had a very enjoyable day, our guide was knowledgeable and looked after the group well. If you want a taste of the amazing scenery around Tromso then this is a good tour. The tour is via a mini bus or mini van and is not into the wild. They stopped at many points along the way explaining the various locations.

A friend and I booked "Arctic Road Trip from Tromso" with Wandering Owl, as we had a day to fill while waiting to go on an evening aurora tour and wanted to see more of the area than just Tromso. Bart was a great guide and made every effort to take us to some great spots for views, photos, and different landscapes. I was very comfortable with his driving and appreciated the info he shared about the area at each stop. He gave us plenty of time for photos but also kept the tour moving along to maximize our experience. He got us away from the "big bus" tour stops as soon as possible, which we appreciated. This was a great way to see more of the area but also have enough time to relax a little and transition to going on an evening aurora tour. At some stops you could walk further out on hard-pack snow, so if you're not accustomed to or comfortable with slippery surfaces, YakTrax/"spikes" might be helpful. Seeing the fjords was one of the things we really wanted to do, & this trip was perfect! Max was our driver & guide. Affable, knowledgeable & took us to some spectacular locations. Such a joy to see so much natural beauty!

My wife and I really enjoyed the tour from the beginning till the end. The driver and guide was there on time and he was so friendly and knowledgeable about each one of the places we visited. The views of the landscapes, islands, and coastal beaches were outstanding. The guide took us to the best places along the route and the photographs he took were amazing. The picnic we had on the beach was so healthy and delicious and the hot drinks kept us warm. The guide was spectacular. I highly recommend this tour when you come to Tromso.

Max was an excellent guide. He is a biologist and shared interesting facts about the island. He was witty and funny making the four hour trip highly entertaining. We had some white out conditions and max kept searching for locations with breaks in the weather. Was perfect to learn and explore the island.

Just finished the Winter Arctic Landscapes tour. Start of the trip was poor weather, so didn't see much, but last hour or so was very good visibility so on the way back our guide Anna very kindly revisited some of the places we'd stopped at earlier. Excellent trip, Anna was brilliant. Only slight negative was a disappointing lunch - one small sandwich and a choice of coffee or grootbos tea, which felt pretty mean given the price of the tour.
