Tromso: Private Aurora Chase By Minivan

We have a wonderful experience with the tour operator. The toilet stop would be at Circle K and can warm up by buying snack at the shop. There room to improvement for such as burning marshmallow on a stick for kids when waiting for Northern Light. Northern Light is such natural phenomenon, on our fist night we got probably like 5 picture then rest of night is nothing. We gotta try on 2nd nights and come back home with a lot of memory. The tour operator dont have small size clothing winter kit for my kids age 7 and 9, so I go for Winterent for all my 3 kids and got discount from the tour. Talk with Francisco to sort out all your question. Hes reply fast.

When we booked 'private aurora chase by minivan' for $1600, we assumed that it would be a comfortable experience for my wife and I. Instead it was a joke. - The van was compact and setup to jam in the most people possible, not comfortable at all for a 'private' tour. My knees were jammed into the seat in front of us, and the van showed ample signs of wear and high-usage. - Before departing, the owner told us there was a very good chance of seeing aurora's that night; it was a high pressure sale and he kept interrupting me when I tried to ask questions. The moment we hopped into the van the driver said it was very unlikely to see auroras that night, and he and all of the other drivers had been discussing that, but that it was too late to cancel and we should have earlier if we were in doubt. - The "snacks" noted as a part of the package was a cold packaged muffin. - The driver, despite my wife being pregnant, kept hopping out to smoke and when he came back inside it wreaked of smoke. I had to ask him twice to not smoke or to wait a while before coming back inside. - As the driver expected, we did not see aurora that night. We spent 80% of the time parked on the side of the road waiting to see if anyone called him and indicated that they saw aurora.

The whole trip felt wonderful and was the best experience.

Andis was an excellent guide—easygoing, professional, and knowledgeable. He shared interesting stories throughout the trip, which made the experience even more enjoyable. He knew exactly how to capture the northern lights and was great at taking photos. He was always helpful and attentive, making sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. Highly recommended!

The tour started with a very clear and informative presentation. I had two tours over two nights with Andis and Aron, both guys were great with their help, their courtrsy and led us to fantastic places to see the lights. I give all of the guys 10 out of 10

Angel our guide was excellent. The company used scientific methods to find areas with little cloud cover. We drove all the way to Finland. Cross the visible border stations. No check though. That night the lights were ferocious. Got excellent pics. We went on three chases, only Green Gold provided us the full size large file images. Well done!

Alex did a great job! Amazing pics and ethereal experience! Good stories and coffee and safe driving! Very helpful with pics and seeing everything we hoped for.

Had a great experience with Andis who took quickly found the norther lights, showed us which directions were best, found other great stops to quickly get out of the car and take more pictures on our way back to Tromso. Could not have asked for more! Perfect!

Our trip was amazing. At the beginning I was slightly suprised because of the division of groups into vans, the organization was a little bit confused. But then we set out on the road. Our driver was great, thoughtful and I felt safe in the car. After about 50 minutes we stopped and we had something incredible and perfect! Amazing two and a half hours of aurora literally that all sides! Our guide was nice and helpful and took us many professional photos. We got warm tea and coffee and chocolate muffins. The trip lasted 6 hours. It was an unforgettable experience!

Pictures were great, didn't need the full time as we saw the lights after just 1 hour out of Tromso. I was suprised that you do not see the colours of the lights with the natural eye, only through photos but we got lots of those and the guide took some lovely ones with my daughter and I in front of them which was great!

Our guide Aaron was great- friendly, good knowledge and observant. Kept checking for updates and drove all over with great determination to make sure we caught the lights, and we did see some. Tq!

We had such a great time! They were really caring and informative since the beginning. We need special time for our private tour and they promptly did so. The tour itself was amazing, Jan made sure that we were all thermally comfortable and also checked the forecast/sky all the time.

I had a scheduled hunt with a different company and they cancelled “due to severe weather” one day before. As I was passing by their offices, I saw their banner and decided to schedule with them. And I am so glad it did happen! They were the only to take time to show the satellite maps and explain the challenges. Then we looked for the lights and our driver/guider was excellent providing us the best chance to see it. And we did! I sincerely recommend them

Went with Francisco of Green gold of Norway Not just he made sure we see the northern lights, he wanted us to see it again after the first glimpse of the northern lights He continued the ride on our way back and made another stop for more northern light chasing He emailed us the professional photo he took for us after the tour fantástico !!!

Very serious Francisco,he explain everything properly.He is taking a good care of everyone.He is fairly and correct .He knows where are the best places to see aurora and expert in taking photos.We recommend to take a tour with him.

So if you have a baby you should inform the guide, obviously. A baby is not a baggage. If you are a guide, you should choose the ones who paid, not the ones who will pay more before departure. I see that for this guide if you are bringing a baby he will cancel your trip. So if you have a baby bring it along and have some fun! Cancel some trips! This a service which this guide will offer you should profit as he profited by our situation. The worst guide ever! More money better...We booked a trip for 2 people and after they took our money, in 3 hours before our departure they called to inform us they tried to cancel our trip, because there's a couple with a baby and they want them to come instead of us. Now we have to wait 5 days to receive our money back and we didn't even have the chance to go on our trip. He should cancel their trip not ours because they caused this situation. Very unprofessionally!

We booked this private Northern Lights Chase after our trip was cancelled due to bad weather and we were really glad that we did. As a family of 7 with ages 8-69 we were really keen on a private tour due to the flexibility offered. Our guide, Francisco explained the science behind the aurora and went all out to ensure we saw the lights! He was friendly and well organised throughout. Having driven nearly to the Finnish border we were successful in viewing the lights, which made our holiday. We would definitely recommend this tour and will use them again when we visit Tromso.
