This is so fun! I really had a blast (and not nearly as cold as I had feared). I would recommend bringing an extra shirt along as sometimes a bit of water creeps in around the neck.

Ola was lovely and very knowledgable. Interesting history of both Tromsø and safety around water. Water activities were really fun, especially jumping in at the end. Great to have a smaller group as made this more intimate/personal and the waffles at the end were great!
What a tremendous experience. Ola our guide was very personable, gave us a great back story as we drove to the camp. Once we arrived she went through the safety protocols and made us feel at ease. Suits were cozy but you could definitely feel the cool fjord water. We swan around for about 30-40 minutes went through a few “training exercises” and if you were brave enough you could jump from the pier into the water. What a rush of adrenaline feeling the cold fjord water on your face. Post swim we had time for chit chat and waffles. Ola told some great stories. What a wonderful time. Thank you Ola for everything you made this an unforgettable experience.
such a fun and unique experience!! One of the interesting highlights of our family arctic trip!
I did this on my 40th birthday! I did it with Ola and Emma and also with a lovely couple from Argentina. It was such a fun experience and I am so glad I did it with your team! Thank you!
I had a very disappointing and concerning experience with this operator. Before the activity, I was given an extremely oversized suit and specifically asked for a smaller one. I was assured that the size would not be a problem. Unfortunately, during the dive, a carabiner attached to the suit swung and struck me in the eye area due to the improper fit of the equipment, causing an injury that has had lasting consequences. What was even more troubling was the operator's response afterward. Rather than acknowledging the issue, the operator denied responsibility and made false statements, twisting and lying about the instructions all participants were given. The video footage of all participants clearly shows that the operator is blatantly lying. While the operator knows that there is clear evidence contradicting her statements, it did not stop her from doing so. Accidents can happen, but honesty and accountability matter. In my experience, the operator showed no basic ethics, and being willing to go to such lengths to lie is deeply concerning. I would encourage others to carefully consider not just the risks, but also the operator they choose.
This experience was more magical than even our best expectations. Ida made this a great, comfortable, seamless, inspiring, and fun evening we will never forget! Of course, seeing the lights was magical, but the entire time from the ride to the floating to photos and delicious local snacks was all made very special by the warm welcome of our host.
Ida was the best guide! We were fortunate to go on a clear day with a very small group. Ida connected with us immediately and made the float a very fun and memorable experience! We went out a bit from the city and enjoyed being out in a very beautiful fjord. It was awesome!
Realy new experience. We able to to stupid movemet and jump into the fjord at the end of session. Although make us wet inside.
Absolutely amazing time, unforgettable moments and led by two very knowledgeable and friendly guides Ida & Sofia.
Exceptional experience, I highly recommend this particular tour as a genuine fun! Our guide Ida was just brilliant! Thanks!
A fabulous experience led by Ida. We booked this independently from the cruise we were on and highly recommend it. Ida was a great host; amusing, knowledgeable and patient. She took great pictures and videos and made the best waffles ever!
You’re zipped into heavy-duty survival suits and float in the fjord after doing a few fun survival formations/drills. It sounds extreme, but once you’re in you mostly just bob around taking in the mountains and Arctic scenery. It was oddly serene. What we wore under the suit: - 260 gsm merino base layer top + thin merino sweater - Thermal tights / fleece trousers, sock liners + wool socks. What we wish we wore: - Fleece layer over other 2 layers on top - 260 gsm merino tights instead of thermal leggings/fleece trousers - Merino glove liners under the knit gloves provided (our fingers got cold first) Whether you opt to jump off the pier or not at the end, it is highly likely your layers will get we under the suit. We wished we brought a full change of clothes. 10xNorth has a house on the fjord that only your group has access to. We all just left our bags/snow boots/coats there on the benches. Afterwards you warm up with hot drinks and Norwegian waffles with brown cheese and jam. Unique, well run, and well worth doing.
I wasn’t too sure how fun this would be but we took a chance anyway. It was fantastic. Our guide was superb and made it so much fun for the whole family. Everyone loved it and we will be talking about this for a long time.
Great experience. Would suggest it to anyone. Not something you would think of doing but so much fun.
OMG if you think about it, do it! It was so amazing floating and swimming in the Arctic! The people were so nice and the view was breathtaking 🫶
Did this today. Actually chosen by my teens and I was a bit anxious but friendly patient staff made it easy. I had great fun thank you all
This was so much fun! We love that it was different than anything we’ve done before. The guides were wonderful. We all 6 enjoyed the floating. 4 of our gang did jump in for extra excitement. The waffles at the end were an extra bonus. Highly recommend!
Great experience so much fun!! Great instructor Ida, she made awesome waffles and really fun! Would definitely do it again…..
Such an incredible experience while floating at night- a gorgeous aurora above us! After the activity we were treated to delicious waffles and hot chocolate. One of our favorite tours in Tromso!
This was AMAZING experience ! Definitely a tour you must do whilst in Tromso! So much fun. Our teenage kids absolutely had a ball as did my husband and I. The guides were awesome and the waffles and hot drinks at the end is a fabulous was to end the experience ! Brown cheese and Jam ! Who would have thought …! Yuummm!!
Magdalena made this experience truly unforgettable. What seems like a simple activity became something magical thanks to her, she turned ice floating into an incredible and memorable adventure. I totally recommend it. The guide was absolutely the best part of the entire tour.”
This experience was better than I could of imagined. The tour guide and owners of the experience are to be commended. Helpful, patient, informative and made the morning so much fun. Lots of photos and hot chocolate and freshly cooked waffles to warm you up when you finish. 10 out of 10 !!!
Was a once in a lifetime experience.. def bucket list worthy!! Thank you for the opportunity and experience
Picked up on time and driven to the location. Weather wasn't great, little but of a snowstorm but still really fun to do. Clear instructions given both initially and in the water. Took photos but not all were uploaded. Enjoyed the plentiful waffles and warm drinks afterwards, nice touch to round off a good tour.
Really good fun. Group larger than described but we were well looked after and the waffles were delicious.
The activity is unique and good. The guides are very good, they explain everything and take good care of you. The clothes provided were good. I felt that £160 is a little too high for the time spent during the activity, but if you can afford it the activity is good.
Amazing experience and really amazing guides! Shoutout to Carl to help me overcome my fears to get me to jump in the water:-) thanks for the wonderfull memory, we really had a blast!
Tour guide was very fun and gave us great insider knowledge of the town and Norwegian culture. The floating experience was epic, we had an absolute blast! Just wish the photos were slightly higher quality.
This was a wonderful experience. As a solo participant, I felt super welcomed by the staff and by the other participants. The suits we wore to float were well maintained and clean, though I would recommend bringing a change of clothes- there was a bit of space open by my neck so I ended up being quite soaked at the end of my float. The exercises the team took us through were fun and the jump at the end was a very cool experience. This is something you can’t do most other places, so I think it’s well worth the price while in Tromso. The pictures taken and waffles we got to have at the end of the experience were the icing on the cake! While this is a physical activity, I have a knee injury and was fine getting in/out of the water, swimming, and jumping so I think it would be fine for most fitness levels.
Great experience even though the conditions were a bit stormy. Paolo, Raul, Ida and Ollie took great care of us and the experience was super unique! Do it if you can!
Our family of 4 had a brilliant time- we really appreciated being able to take younger children too as not many companies cater for smaller children. Ida, Ali, Paulo and Raul were fantastic hosts. We really enjoyed learning survival skills, and lots of facts about Norway too. The post float waffles, cheeses and hot chocolate were a welcome addition. Highly recommend! Thanks for a brilliant morning.
Late start and considerable price, but a fantastic guide and a truly unique experience. Definitely would recommend!
This floating-adventure is amazing! I‘ve had lots of fun and it was quite informative. The guides (shoutout to Paolo and Ida!) were incredible kind and helpful. :) The suits do keep the cold out, I recommend just like the other reviewers to pack some extra clothes. It is possible to get a little bit wet around the neck if you jump in for example. The waffles were tasty and overall I’m beyond happy I booked this experience. 5/5. :) would do it again!
It was one of the most exciting activities I've ever experienced in my life. As someone who loves swimming, it was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Ida,was like a one-woman army😊She picked us up, gave us various general first aid tips about the sea, helped us put on our suites, swam with us, took pictures, made waffles, and brought us back to Tromso.Ida, you're amazing, bravo👏👏🥰 In short, it was a magnificent experience,I definetely recommend it..🏊♀️🏊♂️ (10XNorth please be more active on Instagram and e-mail.)
What an amazing, unique and fun experience! Our guides, Carl and Magdalene were wonderful. I was worried it might be cold, but as long as you have a decent layer on, you’re good. I was happy I put my mittens on though! I was also glad I brought a second set of clothes as I did get wet after jumping off the pier. Great experience that I highly recommend!
I cannot recommend this tour enough. We stepped into a Christmas card and we then suited up and floated away in the Fjord. This was so much fun. Not to mention our guides then made us hot coffee and waffles. I would do this tour over and over again.

I was not convinced but went along with it. Why jump into icy water on a cold day when you have perfectly warm dry land instead? But this was an experience not only am I glad I have had, but would readily repeat. Most credited inn my reversal was the assured confidence of our very knowledgeable guide. But also the evidence that it was well planned and funded. We travelled to a quite sheltered water where wind and tide would be ineffectual. Here we entered the water in our pristine survival suits to do what was suggested: float. But then we could move, stand, coordinate. Finally I jumped in from about 3m, it was exillerating. Getting to Tromso is is not an easy everyday consideration, but I'd do this again for sure. Thank you so much.
This was a lot of fun. Our guides, Fabricio and Paolo, were very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful. They organised the waterproof suits seamlessly and the scenery was amazing. The sensation of floating in the Arctic Ocean was a great experience. Lying back in the water is quite peaceful, while swimming around on your back is good fun too. I never felt cold and didn’t really want to get out at the end. We capped off the experience by jumping off the jetty afterwards. A bit of a thrill and nice to get fully submerged. The boys then served us hot coffee and fresh waffles with Norwegian Brown cheese and jam. Very tasty!
We are 4 sisters ranging in age from 65 to 54 and not particularly ‘fit’ this experience was absolutely amazing. We can’t recommend 10XNorth, Fab and Paolo more highly, we felt safe and assured at all times, the adventure was bucket list worthy and a must do if you visit Tromsø
What a fun experience! Our guides were so knowledgeable about the city and surrounding areas and were able to share some history of Tromsø with us on the way to our destination. At the destination they helped everyone into their suits and instructed everyone while insuring that we were all comfortable with the float. This activity was actually very relaxing and definitely memorable! One tip.. bring extra clothes just in case!
It was an amazing once in a lifetime experience. No swimming skill is needed and yet is a fun life survival skill introduction.
Fjord floating was amazing, our guides were informative and fun. We felt safe the whole time and enjoyed learning survival techniques and just the pleasure of floating around in our suits. I read the other reviews and it is a good idea to take a change of clothing as we did get a little damp down the front of our clothing. You don’t get cold but some water can get in down the neck. We wore leggings and a sweater under the suits and took jeans and a warm sweater to change into afterwards. This is a wonderful experience and the waffles, brown cheese and jam were delicious!! We would definitely do this again.
Phenomenal experience and informative. Stunning views and yummy local waffles. Opted to do the arctic jump at the end, what a rush!!! Highly recommend and make sure you bring dry clothes just in case.
An awesome and different experience floating in a survival suit amongst the ice. Was also snowing so that was an extra bonus. Professionally ran by excellent guides who explained everything you needed to know. Photos and videos were uploaded to their website whilst we ate waffles with brown cheese and jam! Highly recommend
Karl was knowledgeable, fun, and passionate about marine life, nature and customer safety. He did a great job with instructions so we could maximize the fun without getting water in our wetsuits! Fantastic morning!
An incredible experience and definitely worth the money! We chose the evening booking and were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights! The “snack” they gave us was more like a full meal of waffles, brown cheese and jam, with a hot drink of our choice. I HIGHLY recommend adding this activity to your itinerary - if you’re contemplating it, don’t hesitate!!
We really enjoyed this tour! Carl and Sofie were awesome guides. They explained everything well, made sure we were safe, took great pics and made tasty waffles. Getting to jump into the Arctic at the end was our highlight.
Very unique and fun experience ! Guides were amazing and took great photos of us ! Meeting point was also very easy to find and they waited for us due to a previous tour running behind due to weather
Excellent adventure! Soo relaxing in the frozen fjord and well equipped and supported by very knowledgeable guide Karl
