Tromsø: Learn To Ski - Developed With Local Olympic Champion

We had an amazing time! As first-time skiers, we felt at ease. It was the perfect introduction for beginners. Tony was incredibly friendly and attentive; despite my many falls, he stayed patient and made sure we were well looked after throughout. He also treated us to a delicious hot drink and snack, which was a lovely gesture. We would absolutely recommend this experience. Thanks again, Tony, and best of luck with the fishery!

We had a fantastic time learning to cross country ski with Nikita and his colleague. I had alpine ski'd before but my wife had never ski'd in her life. This tour is extremely beginner friendly, putting us both at ease. The only potential way it could have been improved is if we got off the beginner run a bit sooner but I understand the team needs to cater for all experience levels. Loved it! We had never skied before but coming to Tromso having just watched the Winter Olympics inspired us to try this proper Norwegian sport. It was so much fun! We were taught some basic techniques and, after a bit of practice, got to ski around a trail, briefly stopping for a much needed break with a delicious hot drink and snack. The guides were so helpful, encouraging and attentive, ensuring everyone felt safe and had a great experience. We would definitely do it again and would 100% recommend SkiTromso to anyone visiting the city!

The tour guides/instructors were very kind, thoughtful and patient. It was our first time cross country skiing and they helped provide and familiarize ourselves with the gear. Since they had 2 guides available during the training, they were able to accommodate different beginner levels as the class continued on. We had a great time!

Both guides were great at teaching one how to cross country ski. Patient and watchful, guiding the group through foundational training. Equipment was clean and professional. I would do this again!

Really great activity! They provide everything and were super helpful. By the end we were skiing well and even tried some harder routes. I also attended a session the week before, felt unwell and had to leave. They let me rebook the following week with my partner too for no additional cost (myself, we booked new for my partner) and were very helpful with it. Highly recommend!

Perfect beginners introduction to cross country skiing. We started with basics, the instructor offered useful instructions and was patient with the beginners. There is ample opportunity for more experienced skiers to learn more. Highly recommended.

This was a great experience, and a fun way to discover XC Skiing for the first time. The instructors were both very helpful at explaining and understanding everyone’s different abilities, as the group itself was only small, around 15 if I remember correctly. We stopped for a warm drink and a sweet snack which was a nice addition too. If you’re wearing multiple layers, I recommend removing one as you will get hot during this activity. The skis, poles and shoes provided were of high quality and easy to use once taught. The trail itself was good fun, with a mixture of uphill and downhill. I recommend this activity - it is fairly easy to get the hang of and is good fun, especially going fast downhill. Expect a few tumbles though, as good balance is required!

I would like to start by saying that we had a great experience. Our instructors were Hans and Filip. It was my first time skiing while my wife had tried it once before. Both the instructors were super patient and supportive. The equipment was top class. The tracks we did were pretty good. Overall we had a wonderful time and definitely recommend to everyone!

This was our first ski lesson, and my kids really enjoyed it, especially my daughter. At the beginning, they didn’t even know how to put on their ski boots, but by the end of the lesson, both of them were able to ski down the hill, which truly impressed me. The two ski instructors were extremely patient and helpful, although we unfortunately forgot to ask for their names. It was a wonderful experience for our whole family. Highly recommended!

Had no prior skiing experience so it was challenging but fun. The guides showed great care in checking in and wanting to help. Really appreciated their kindness especially on return in supporting me when returning.

Fantastic cross-country skiing experience in Tromsø. The coaching was clear, patient and encouraging, which made it easy for our group of four adults to progress and enjoy the session. The ski track was beautifully prepared and the surrounding Arctic landscape at sunset was stunning. The local snack with warm berry juice was a delicious and authentic touch. Overall a great, well-organised tour that is 100% recommended for anyone visiting Tromsø.

Got up early and paid for an uber to the start location. Guide couldn’t get the van door open so just cancelled it. What a waste of time,

The course was really for beginners and the tour guides were really helpful in ensuring that everyone was at the correct level of competence before going out on the track. It was welcoming and fun despite the challenging weather conditions. As a tourist this course couldn’t be recommended enough. I would give 6 stars if it was possible.

I had a great experience! This is my first time skiing and the instructors, Simon and Sevat (apologies if I got the name wrong), did a great job in explaining. Very friendly and professional. They kindly accompanied my friend who required more help with the lesson while I could practice and explore on my own pace. We enjoyed a warm blackcurrant juice and a Norwegian snack mid-lesson. The lesson was long enough to feel satisfied but not too long because it’s quite a cardio! Although the meeting point was a bit confusing because there’s no signage or similar (and it was dark during winter). It would be nice if it’s clearer. But overall, a great experience.

Great experience! Really suitable for beginners and great instruction. I wouldn’t be dressing to warm, you will get hot ;) the instructors had sweets and hot prepared.

What an awesome tour! We learned the different skiiing methods. We went skiiing just like you see in the pictures on the website and at TripAdvisor. We had warm cranberry drinks and soft Norwegian snacks called lefsa with cinnamon taste. Simon was great at teaching and coaching us along the ski runs. We did the 3pm session in a small group and had such a great time! We were total beginners, but Johannes made everything feel easy and fun. He was super friendly, patient, and really took care of us. It was a perfect introduction to cross-country skiing, and we totally recommend it.

The BEST experience. Jakob and Eric are the best guides and instructors. They are so patient, helpful and skilled. They give off great vibes. It’s like spending the afternoon with friends. There’s lots of businesses that offer this experience in Tromso but I strongly recommend you book these guys. I started off with zero skill, could barely stand up. By the end of it I was flying (probably not but felt like it)

We had the most wonderful tour with these very experienced guides who gave us such personal care and went out of their way for us to have a good time. The activity was made so easy to take part in and enjoyable for everyone in our family. The added bonus was chatting away with the guides like old friends in our small group. Highly recommend this as an activity to add to your time in Tromso!

Magnificent experience, also suitable for beginners Groups are very small, the trainers are very nice and competent and you get a delicious Norwegian snack & warm drink ☺️ very recommended

The teachers are great and the material is of great quality. However, for the number of people in the classroom, to keep everyone safe it would be necessary to place more than two instructors.

The course has been fun, but is only suitable for a very first taste of the sport. We had to wait 15 minutes outdoors for the "man with the key" to unlock the van and receive the equipment it contained.

An all-round successful tour in which you got an insight into the basic techniques of cross-country skiing. Despite rain from all directions, the two guides gave their all to keep the group happy.

Great!!! Our first experience in cross-country skiing was great and magical. We were in a couple this Monday 09 December to learn about Norwegian national sport. We loved it, the setting is already amazing in Tromse, in the country of cross-country skiing. The winter atmosphere is magical, the fairy paths. We had a small group of 7 beginner skiers like us. But above all we were supervised by 2 great Norwegian guides: Simen and Tony! Very special mention for them, they are great, they are patient, they know how to transmit, they are excellent teachers. And on top of that they are extremely kind. We had a smile all day thanks to their sympathy. They were always with us, we had some nice explanations about the sport, the history, the culture. And we even had a taste of the skis. Really go ahead, you will love spending some time with them, soaking up 100%. We felt like we were Norwegian us!! Thank you again and book quickly this awesome activity!!
