Tomas was our guide today, for our wilderness adventure of Tromso, to be honest the pick up point was a little tricky to find, it would have been better to have said outside the tourist shop... but we found him moments later. Met up with a small group of 5 people from 3 different continents 💓 Tomas took us on a magical wilderness trip. The Fjords were mammoth.. the vastness of their size and beauty was really quite breathtaking. The weather was poor but Tomas persevered and each time we stopped the cloud seemed to have cleared a touch and we were able to enjoy the beauty of it all. Tomas took wonderful pictures for us, which he sent later after the trip, this was a real treat to received over dinner in the evening as his photography skills are far better than my own. As I said the weather was poor and the winds were biting which in no way at all detracted from the trip but please do wrap up, we’re in the artic circle after all. A really really special trip, thank you Tomas. Your vast knowledge of the area and your in depth knowledge of Tromsos geography, understanding of the micro climate and geological area was superb and really added to our experience on the trip. Your a credit to Northern Soul Adventures. Justy & Bex

Itinerary
Leaving behind Tromsø we will travel across the beautiful bridge that links Tromsø with Kvaløya, here urban life vanishes transforming into wild Arctic landscapes. The road takes you through dramatic mountains, scenic fjords and tranquil coastal villages. You can also observe wildlife such as agules, reindeer or elk that roam freely in this area.
Photo stop with panoramic views of fjords, sea and wildlife.
Photos and panoramic views of the fjords. Arctic flora and fauna.
As you approach Sommarøy, the landscape becomes almost surreal. The earth opens up to reveal white coral beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters and scattered islands stretching towards the horizon. Here, authentic fishing villages meet unspoilt nature, creating a rare mix of culture and serenity. Your guide will help you capture the magic, both with your own camera and by taking professional-quality photos for you along the way. Keep your eyes open for sightings of Arctic wildlife along the way: reindeer often roam freely, and sea eagles can be seen gliding high above the fjords. In a specially selected scenic spot, pause for traditional Norwegian food and hot drinks – the perfect time to relax, replenish and try an Arctic bath.
After the visit to Sommerøya we will return to Tromsø enjoying the landscapes and memories that we will take marked of our Arctic experience.

We had a great day on this far reaching day trip. Plenty of stops for great photos. Tasty lunch at a hotel on Sommeroya island. Our guide,Gerard, drove carefully and was full of interesting information. Had a great time and saw things that a lone traveller wouldn't know about. There was a little confusion at the pick up point, but that's to be expected with so many companies coming to the same location.
The Fjord Tour to Sommarøy is highly recommended for anyone visiting Tromsø! Our tour guide and driver, Gerardo, was very accommodating, friendly, and approachable. He kindly helped us take photos and even made extra stops at beautiful scenic spots so we could capture more amazing memories. The lunch provided was also delicious and highly recommendable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and Gerardo made the tour even more enjoyable with his excellent service and thoughtfulness. Highly recommended. 😊📸
The guide was very good, and the photo stops were great. The only unfortunate part was that the mini bus was packed and four adults were in the rear seat, which was one too many..
very enjoyable day Bus was clean and comfortable Stopped and many places for photo opportunities Guide continued to provide information all the way and lunch was delicious would recommend this tour
A very pleasant day! Saw beautiful vistas, snow on the mountains, beautiful ocean beach, delicious Norwegian fish soup and reindeer!!! Plus our driver/guide Jorge?(originally from Galapagos isles) was fantastic!!! Funny, informative, kind, and perfect!!!!
Beautiful sights! Guide was very good! Everything went on time! Would gladly recommend it! Van was comfortable
Well it started OK with Aurora 7! I walked like 45 minutes to get there early so I could get a good seat which I did! We then had to proceed to pick up some other guests from a cruise ship! When this occurred the driver/guide asked me if I was Tom and I said yes so he asked me to step off! I did as he requested! He then proceeded to have me go to another tour bus (a partner tour bus Hello Tromos) I think it was called! So I go from sitting in a window see that I walked quite a distance to get there early to being put on another tour bus squeezed between 3 other individuals! I met up with the tour group (Aurora 7) just shy of 4 hours later at a beach and asked the driver/guide why I was taken off the van I originally booked for! Response making room for others! Anyway he at that point asked me if I would like to rejoin them and I said no as the tour was almost over! I wondered how 4 hours into this tour you could all of a sudden make room to accommodate me at that point! With all this I was supposed to have a selection of a few things to eat at a local place one of which was fish soup, Vegan burger and can't remember the last! With that said the tour group I got put with brought out a bag of looked like store bought prepackaged 2 sliced bread sandwiches which was not even close to what I paid for! Enough said as this is the one and only bad experience I've had in 10 years of travels! I hope now body gets treated this way in the future! Blessings Tom
Excellent tour. Our guide was friendly and shared many great facts about the locations we stopped at. He always allowed plenty of time for photos. The areas we saw were beautiful!
Sommaroy is unbelievably beautiful. The whole drive there was stunning. The tour guide was cheerful, knowledgeable & courteous. He served hot drinks & cake on a beach after lunch. The experience was magical.
A lovely short trip for Sommaroy! The tour guide did a good job, well organized. The local food was delicious as well
Lovely few hours spent around the area, opportunities for walking a bit to get better viewpoints or see interesting features. Beautiful views of the fjords. Spotted some reindeer too! Lunch was nice, on the beach in Sommeroy. We would recommend this to friends
This was an amazing way to spend our day on shore. David was an exceptional tour guide and the scenery was spectacular. We were lucky to be blessed with a sunny day. I highly recommend this excursion.
Our guide and driver was Rajad from Arora 7. Rajad was punctual and actively looking for customer's who have signed up for the tour. Rajad was very knowledgeable of the various points of sightseeing and managed to stop for quick photo opps, and we did see the rein deers at the end of our journey. Rajad was very friendly and courteous as well. One point to take note of was that the pick up point shown on the reminder email that was sent to us on the day of the tour was different from the pick up info that was shown when we first book the tour. The pick up point information from the reminder email on the day of the tour was kind of misleading.
Our guide did a great job of making the trip a rewarding experience. I would highly recommend this tour.
While we saw many beautiful places, our guide did not keep to the timeline. A 4.5 hour trip was 6.5 hours causing us to miss time in town and the $40 we had paid for a shuttle from town back to the ship. Some stops were redundant and could have been skipped to meet the 4.5 hours. Also, “lunch” is a small bowl of soup and a wafer. Scenery was lovely but the trip was frustrating.
The scenery was amazing. We would have liked to have had more information about the places and people in Tromsø from our guide. He answered questions, but did not provide much information on his own.
This tour was amazing. Our tour guide, Jared, was knowledgeable and very personable and professional! He also took incredible pictures and videos of my wife and I at various locations that we will cherish from our time in Norway! It was a very relaxed and enjoyable tour! Highly recommended!!
Gerald very knowledgeable and took wonderful 📸 He also kept us dry for most of our tour. Great tour of beaches and fjords.
Wonderful experience! Would highly recommend! All 8 member of re group throughly enjoyed! Informative And guide and driver were great! Made the entire experience magnificent and memorable!
Gerardo our tour guide was wonderful, he had ample knowledge and experience to guide us through the Norway fjords experience. Lunch was provided in a nice warm cabin, nice soup and few sweet snacks. Would definitely recommend, you won’t be disappointed.
My group and I organised two tours with Aurora 7. We had nothing but the best experience. We highly recommend the full day tour to Kvaloya and Sommaroy. The day was adjusted to our needs, we had plenty of time at all stops and Gerardo was a wonderful guide. We were more than satisifed with the day and decided to book a 2nd tour last minute. We booked the Aurora Borealis night tour and they made sure that we pick the best opportunity to see the lights. My group was thrilled when they finally got to see the Northern Lights. I would recommend Aurora 7 to anyone!
We had our best tour in Tromso on this trip with Andie. The trip goes from beautiful to paradise and Andie makes sure there is enough time to appreciate the scenery, take photos. We saw a sea eagle, some otters, and seals. We cannot recommend enough this Aurora7 fjord tour with lunch.
The guide (Andie) was amazing, she explained so many nice curiosities about Norway. I went to a solo trip for my birthday and she made me to feel very good. I totally recommend this company 🥰🩷 congratulations for your amazing job, Andie!
Great tour, knowledgeable guide and nice lunch!!! Really enjoyed our tour and the scenery was spectacular!!
Our guide Andi was so sweet and seems in love with her job and the surroundings she was sharing with us! Beautiful day!
The trip was fantastic from start to finish. Andie was a wonderful host and an outstanding photographer who captured beautiful moments along the way. It was the perfect option for anyone who doesn’t want to rent a car but still wants to see and experience the surrounding area. Highly recommended.
It was a great tour of a few hours - with amazing scenery, great explanations of the surroundings and social life in Norway, and great photos!
This tour was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We felt very lucky to be in a small minibus with only 8 people, which made the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. Our guide, Andie, was incredible. She went above and beyond for us—she even turned the bus around when we spotted two reindeer by the side of the road just so we could get a second look! Andie took wonderful complimentary photos of us and was great at finding quiet stops away from the crowds. She was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything beautifully. If you are looking for a stress-free way to see Sommarøy and Kvaløya, I cannot recommend this tour enough—especially with Andie!
We spent a great day with our tour guide Gerardo who was very informative and stopped at many extra spots along the way. The weather was very challenging with heavy snow at times but it was great to see how quickly it changed! We had lunch at the base camp which was warm and there were toilets which was great, and the soup was lovely. Sommaroy was very beautiful but the only thing I would have liked was time to walk around where the colourful cabins are. I understand that these are private though and we did stop briefly to take photos from a distance. On our way back we stopped to have photos of us taken by Andie which is a great souvenir of our day
We had a fantastic day with our lovely guide Andie who was driving the 7 of us around the beautiful Kvaløya and Sommarøy. She took care of us during the whole trip very well, made sure we had enough time for taking pictures, could avoid the crowds, enjoy the stunning sceneries. She was providing plenty of information about Tromsø and Nothern Norway and she took us to beautiful spots! She is a fantastic photographer too, took amazing pictures of us which we got per e-mail after a couple of days - a lovely memory of this beatiful day trip! All in all I’m very happy I could go on this trip with Andie with the minivan, instead of the big bus which was following us the whole time. The trip lasted about 5 and a half hours, so we got back to to meeting point around 3.30pm.
I really really enjoyed this trip! The guides were just so nice and told us so many interesting things. And the places we visited were just too beautiful too explain.😍 The communication/the places visited/the traditional food was great! So everything was just amazing! Really would recommend this special trip to everyone! 😊
We booked this Arctic Fjords tour with Aurora 7. It was advertised as 4.5 hours, starting at 10:00. In reality it started over 30 minutes late because the guide and the director (Luis Gerardo Campoverde Calle) claimed overbooking and bus issues despite knowing the numbers in advance – we waited outside in the cold. The whole thing dragged on far longer than promised, ruining our last day in Tromsø: we missed pre-booked attractions, had to rush, and spent extra money as a result. The guide promised lunch as “compensation” for the delay, but it was already included. We wasted prime sunny time sitting in a restaurant waiting for food, missing great photo opportunities as the light faded and then had to see the rest in the darkness. The meal was disappointing – we ordered whale but got deer instead (disguised as whale, we had both before so we know the difference). On the way back he sped excessively on slippery roads, overtaking other cars, despite earlier talking about safety warnings, making the drive feel reckless – we had to insist on going straight to Tromsø instead of more stops. The listing still says 4.5 hours, which is completely misleading. Poor organisation, false promises, lies, and unsafe driving made this one of the worst tours we’ve ever done. Avoid. 1/5.
amazing tour guide with good humor, who is also a professional photographer. she knows all the scenic spots around the area, so we ended up with a day trip full of beautiful fjords and vacation pictures to make our friends at home jealous. I would recommend it!
"Our trip to Tromsø was an absolute blast! We were a group of 12 guests, and the vibe was fantastic from start to finish. A huge shoutout to our guides, Andie and Eduardo, who were incredibly kind and made everyone feel welcome. Even though we didn't manage to spot any whales during our stay, the experience was still magical—we were lucky enough to see two seals! Highly recommend this team for their great energy and professional approach."
We had a wonderful trip with our guide Andie taking special interest in explaining details about the various locations, their geological origins, the creation of fjords etc. The trip was very well curated as it included key stops along the way that had unique views of the scenery giving a wonderful glimpse of the region. Additonally the stops chosen had hardly any tourist, thereby allowing for a more quiet and undisturbed viewing. Andie has a deep understanding of the region that makes her an excellent guide for the tour. She went the extra step by taking wonderful pictures of the group members with unique views of the locale, thus helping us create wonderful memories.
Our trip to the Fjords with Aurora 7 Nordic Experiences was one of the highlights of our visit to Tromso. This was partly due to the incredible scenery (snow covered mountains backing large expanses of water), the Polar Night skies (soft pastel pink and blue colours casting their glow over the snow and water), and our guide Andie who gave us lots of information about the area and life in Tromso - she was excellent and made sure we were happy and safe at all times. As a bonus, Andie took some fantastic photos of us on our trip and emailed these through afterwards. I highly recommend this tour.
Took a family trip to Tromso to celebrate new year. While there, we went on a scenery tour with Andie Szatmari. The scenes were absolutely breathtaking. Andie knew exactly the right places to go, and she arranged the stops such that we could get the most out of the little sunlight under polar night. To make it even better, it turned out Andie was a photographer. She took many beautiful photos of my kids playing in the snow. An absolutely lovely experience!!
We had an absolutely wonderful day on the Tromsø Arctic Fjord Adventure with Andie. From the very beginning, the atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and full of great energy, which made the whole experience feel personal and special. Andie is not only an excellent guide but an incredibly talented photographer — the photos truly exceeded our expectations. Each image beautifully captures both the Arctic landscapes and us in the moment, and each image reflects her eye for detail and ability to tell a story through photography. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Tromsø
Andie was an excellent guide. Friendly and generous with information, she took us to some of the most stunning scenery on the islands. She also prepared a delicious traditional lunch and dessert herself. Everyone enjoyed the day immensely; it was truly worthwhile.
My partner and I absolutely loved this fjord trip. It was a small, cosy group, which made the experience feel personal and relaxed—exactly how we like it. Andie, our tour guide, was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. She’s also a photographer and was always happy to help us take photos; she even took pictures with her own camera and sent them to us afterwards, which was such a thoughtful touch. The tour itself was beautiful, and we were lucky enough to spot some roaming reindeer along the way. The experience ended perfectly with a delicious homemade traditional soup, rice paper, and some sweets. The day was clear, though a bit windy, but we truly made the most of it. Highly recommended.
Andie was an amazing guide and my wife and I would highly recommend seeing the sites with her as she is extremely knowledgeable about the history, culture and landscape. We recommend including the photography package. We just got ours back and they are incredible! She is very talented and we didn’t have one bad picture. You won’t regret booking with Andie!
We booked for the AURORA7 Sommarøy 1122 trip. The whole journey was pleasant. Andie and the team were excellent and helpful. It was great to be able to signed up for this event with Andie’s and her team.
Covering up means wearing safety shoes for ice. Exciting and bringing calm. Gerard is fantastic
Landscape surprise. Fair lunch. Our guide Jose fantastic. Comfortable vehicle and punctuality.
We were with Andie on a tour of Sommaroy. It was a fantastic experience, it took us through landscapes of overwhelming beauty. In addition to telling us many interesting things about Norway, its culture, society and orography, he conveyed his love for photography and the aesthetics of light and colors in this part of the world. The pictures you took are great.
It was an unforgettable trip to beautiful places in the fjords.:) The beach with the crystal clear water was especially beautiful.
The tour I highly recommend. You drive a minibus and it's a nice little group. The guide is really great and you can feel the enthusiasm. We stopped at really wonderful places.
