I think Arctic GM is a fraudulent tour operator and all the 5 star reviews must be unverified or self reviewed. I had a horrible, unprofessional experience with them. After booking 3 months ago, they moved me to a tour after confirming it was the tour i booked. Zero customer service when I tried to contact. Moved me to a operator called Norther Shots , did not mention that on day of tour , was told winter gear will be provided, they even took sizes.

Legendary trip with Antonio, Lucas and Nelson. Didnt expect at all this much quality and entertainment. Special hug also for Bernard, Sam and Vini who made the waiting so funny and special. Samuel, Luigi and Lucas are absolutely astonishing as northern light hunters. They can find auroras even through the snow storm. They will find gaps in the clouds and make it match perfectly with the northern light, for you to enjoy the dance and all the colours. Even more they are talented as photographers and make the best jokes. Just ask for them!

Fantastic experience. It was cloudy wenn we we started in Tromsö but our awsome tour guide David and the best driver in the world found the right gab between the clouds after a 2 hours drive and the Aurora was dancing for us. The tour is highly recommended and this Company too. Excellent Service! Thank you, we will never forget this fantastic trip. Thank you guys!

Antonio, our guide was amazing! He created such a vibe, plus, we saw the most amazing Northern Lights show all evening! We did not have to drive far. Our driver Nelson was a great and cautious driver. He is a lovely and smiley man. All in all a GREAT experience!

We went on a Northern Lights trip on Wednesday, March 11. The trip went really well: we were lucky enough to see the lights just a few miles from Tromso, and we made two stops to enjoy other views. David and Lucas were perfect, both as drivers and guides. However, there is one important point for anyone going hunting for the Northern Lights: the photos you see (and also in my review) are much more colorful than what you see with the naked eye. Some participants were disappointed not to see green and pink colors like in the photos on social media, but this is completely normal: the colors come out much more vividly with camera or phone sensors. Also, the intensity of the auroras varies from day to day and even during observation. If you are disappointed to see only low intensities, this is not due to a poor location chosen by the guide: the service maximizes the chances of seeing the Northern Lights, but no one can predict their exact intensity. So perfect for me, great job, thank you !

Amazing! Luigi and Frederico could not have been more helpful. There was a lot of cloud but they managed to find some clear spots so we achieved our dream of seeing the Northern lights while surrounded by snow.

Our guide Antonio and driver Abu treated us to a spectacular explosion of the northern lights. Our sightings were incredibly thrilling and memorable. Recommend this tour highly!

The biggest problem with this tour is it is in no way unlimited or guaranteed. Now I know the aurora are a natural phenomenon and you can’t control them, you also can’t actually control the weather. But when you advertise an unlimited mileage tour promising driving to Finland or Sweden for clear skies, price it 3 times higher than other tours, then drive an hour out of Tromsø have us stand in a bush road for the night and point at a letter box size gap in the clouds and tell me that’s the only gap in the clouds all night I’m thinking what bad luck, three countries and all complete cloud cover. You can imagine the surprise when this company posted all over their own social media the following morning the videos of clear skies in Finland and an intense display of aurora. Save your money. Pay £70 to stand in a road and you won’t feel as disappointed. Or book with a genuine company who care about your experience. I cancelled my second tour and rebooked with wandering owl. Absolutely night and day experience. Their bus was heated for one, the guides clearly loved their jobs and they drove to remote location off road, made a fire, served soup and we sat for hours listening to stories about the lights and were treated to clear skies and a stunning display with gorgeous scenery instead of leaping out the road and having every other photo ruined by headlights like we were with Arctic GM

We got to see northern lights. Were we comfortable while doing it? No. Were the guides helpful or friendly or wanting to be there? No. Did the driver want to open the door to let you in the van? No. Did they heat the van when it was -7c? Nope. Was there anything good about this tour? No… well yes we got to see the lights. Literally book any other tour as you will be better off. (The one with the Mercedes Benz is very well heated and great)

We had a great tour with the guide Antonio and the driver Angel. We've been really lucky as we could see a wonderful Aurora borealis in 3 diferrent places far from Tromso about 90 km. Thank you guys!

We booked this trip prior to arriving in Tromso and were not disappointed. Antonio was fantastic and made sure he did everything to help us find the aurora. We saw some fantastic sights, despite the weather, and booked on again the following night with Antonio for a second tour. This time our night was clear and the lights gave a marvellous show. A huge thanks for making the tour great and creating a lovely atmosphere.

An incredible experience! The van was on time for the trip and no time was wasted. Our guide Victor is an utterly dedicated Northern lights hunter! I believe his dedication contributed significantly to our fantastic experience and the great photos we brought home. We were kept warm and cosy the whole time. We had a wonderful Tour with our Guides Luigi and Sam. Despite the very cloudy weather they found two nice locations with a clear sky, where we could see the Aurora. The second location, a frozen lake, was especially nice with colorful northen lights.

I was on this tour on 18th February and it was simply amazing. Even though the sky in Tromsø was really cloudy, we drove to two spots where we got a great aurora show. Special thanks to our guide, Antonio, who went above and beyond, telling us information and insights about the Northern Lights, taking us pictures, and making sure everyone was comfortable and warm. Also, our driver (I forgot his name, but he was from Latvia) shared some amazing Northern Lights stories and insights. Will recommend this tour any time. I found the description misleading. The guides were not locals as advertised, the hot chocolate they served was lousy (couldnt drink it) we didnt cross any borders in fact you dont need a passport to cross to Finland and the guide didnt know anything about crossing borders when i asked. They didnt send us the photos yet (1 week after the activity) the places they took us were crowded. I did the same activity with another company the previous night and it was much cheaper and nicer!

We joined for two nights and had an amazing experience. Communication was clear and well organised from start to finish. Our guides, Antonio and Bernardo, were super friendly and fun, found great spots, and we saw amazing Northern Lights on both nights. Our driver, Vyorel, was also great and drove very safely. They explained how the Northern Lights happen, took great photos of everyone, provided snacks, and even dropped us off at our accommodation although it wasn’t included. Highly recommended!

This tour was amazing. Nikola was great as a guide. She was thoughtful, kind and funny. She was very encouraging when I had doubts of seeing the northern lights. It got cold during the wait but Nikola offered the warm suits that just shows how much she cares for our wellbeing. When the lights finally showed up she offered to take our pictures which was great. Her hands were freezing but she never once denied taking pictures for us. She was such a great guide and the tour was fantastic. Highly recommend booking with this tour.

I joined a Northern Lights hunting tour with Nelson as the driver and Lucas as the guide, and it was an amazing experience. Nelson drove safely and smoothly the whole night, and Lucas was friendly, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the aurora. They went the extra mile to find clear skies and good spots, and I felt well looked after from start to finish. I’d happily go with them again and highly recommend this tour.

Our Northern Lights tour was simply amazing and truly lived up to what was promised. We were taken to two different locations and at both we were able to see the auroras — exactly what you hope for when booking this experience. The van was very comfortable and warm, which made the whole night much more enjoyable in Arctic conditions. What really made the difference, though, was our guide, Samuel. He didn’t just take us to see the lights: he explained in detail how “chasing” the Northern Lights works, including solar winds, forecasting, and the best websites to follow. It made the experience much more meaningful because we actually understood what was happening above us. He also took unlimited photos of us in all the crazy poses we wanted, with total patience and zero judgment. And a special mention to the driver as well: driving at night on snowy roads is not easy, yet we always felt completely safe. An unforgettable experience, made even better thanks to Samuel’s knowledge and passion. Highly recommended!

It’s the kind of experience that stays with you long after you’re back home. The Northern Lights were absolutely surreal, something you have to see with your own eyes to truly believe. We booked a Northern Lights tour with Arctic GM and had an absolutely fantastic experience. Our group was pleasantly small with only eight guests, along with our driver Lars and our guide Samuel, which made the tour feel very personal and relaxed. The organization was perfect – from the punctual pickup to the drop-off back at the starting point, everything ran smoothly. After about an hour of driving out of Tromsø, Lars found an amazing and very private spot where we could watch the Northern Lights. We had incredible sightings and were able to enjoy the phenomenon in peace. On the way back, Samuel continued looking out for Northern Lights – and successfully found more! We were able to see another beautiful display. In between, we were served hot cocoa and snacks, which made the experience even cozier. All in all, it was a wonderful, perfectly organized tour that we would absolutely recommend.

It was my second time using Arctic GM, first time was in Rovaniemi, Finland and even though the weather was super cloudy, they went above and beyond to ensure that we got to see the northern lights (they are not exaggerating they they say unlimited mileage!) This time in Tromsø, we chose once again Arctic GM and Luigi and Angel took great care of us (and great photos too!). We were lucky enough to see northern lights in 3 different places in the same night (the first one was already at the tour pick up location) and each one was beautiful in its own way. While Mother Nature is very unpredictable, if you want as close as you can get to certainty, make sure you book a tour with Arctic GM!

At last minute the tour operator changed time and meeting point. We waited for them to pick us up from original meeting place. He never showed up. We have filled dispute with Viator. We will see what happens.

Do not book this company!!!!! Big scammers. They cancel the tour very last minute with reasoning “broken van”. For such a big company this is unacceptable.

Amazing night. Victor and Luigi were enthusiastic, knowledgeable guides and Abu our driver was great. We were lucky we didn't have to go far before we stopped for our first sightings. We were then taken to 2 further areas where it got better still.

We went two nights in a row and had a wonderful time and saw aurora’s both nights. Nicola was with us both days and we highly enjoyed her. Our second night we also had Gregor and Lucas who were awesome. Gregor is an excellent driver and we enjoyed talking to him.

Antonio & Sergei are very fun and very helpfull during the trip. The scenes are beautiful and amazing. We are very happy.

We booked with this company because they said they would go into Finland, if necessary, from Tromso in search of clear skies to see the lights. (The bigger tour companies do not do this.) Crossing the border was unnecessary on Monday, January 19, 2026, as we had an extraordinary display thanks to an S-4 solar storm. We were able to see with our naked eyes a vivid red aurora that lasted quite a long time. Do not expect this on your trip. This night's display was a once-in-20-years experience. Lucas and Bernardo were amazing guides/photographers. Sergej drove very safely on dark, icy roads. One hiccup: the voucher said to meet at 7 pm at the Circle K. But at 6:06 pm, we received a call that the minibus was already ready to leave and waiting for us. Apparently an email had gone out changing the time to 6 pm, but we never received it. The last communication we had from the company earlier that day still said 7 pm. Fortunately, we were already nearly ready and Bernardo and Lucas agreed to pick us up at our nearby hotel. So, we saw the lights on this amazing night. We wish to extend an extra special thanks to Bernardo and Lucas and to our fellow passengers for waiting for us and to Arctic GM for reaching out to us twice by phone from Finland. I didn't pick up the first time because I was afraid it might be a scam call!! So glad I answered the second time!!
