Our Guides Mathias and Kamil were outstanding and patiently did the Northern lights chasing by crossing the borders and taking us to Finland. We started at 5:30 pm and returned at 2am in Tromso . Lot of time was given to get sightings. Recommend this tour provider.

Kamil, our guide, was wonderful!! He stopped several times along the way for us to snap pictures of the Lights. And then when he set up our campsite, he took pictures of us with the lights as background!! They were amazing! He made sure everyone got plenty of pictures and had a wonderful time!!!

This Small-Group Northern Lights Tour by Minibus was excellent. Our guide, Kamil, knew the best spots for the northern lights and found clear patches despite the mostly cloudy forecast. My friend & I were so lucky on the night of our tour (Dec. 10, 2025) and were treated to an out-of-this world show in the sky, which we'll be forever grateful for. But the experience was truly unforgettable thanks to our guide, Hassan. His enthusiasm for what he does is insanely contagious and his childlike spirit was so much fun to be around. He was professional but *real* and he got all of us so amped up. His excitement was fun to watch and it made us that much more excited about the experience. We loved the fire & the hot drinks & the snacks and just really had the best time we could have had. I am so glad we booked this and got to have Hassan guide us for the night!

Thankyou to Marius, and Hassan our driver for a fabulous evening .We were so very well looked after on our cosy small tour so much better than going on a large tour where you re just a number. We left the city and progressed towards the coast and mountains with Hasssn being very vigilant on his quest to find the beautiful Aurora for us.It wasn t too long before we pulled over and were shown some faint lights ,after donning our thermal suits we were treated to a lovely display ,a camp fire and food with stories of the lights ,we carried on to the mountains and were fortunate enough to see more natural beauty. Hassan was competent in the snow and great company he new exactly were to stop and looked after us all very well .I d highly recommend this tour.

We had a fantastic night last night with Karim as our guide. He went above and beyond to search for the lights in challenging weather conditions. After a few hours drive and into Finland we saw them. Despite the weather I felt totally safe with Karim and his driving skills were amazing. His upbeat personality and his determination to find the lights was infectious. We even liked his music which was everything from trash metal to Elton John kept us alert as we travelled in our search for lights. Please avoid all the big bus tours to northern lights and choose this company you will not be disappointed

They are very professional and I definitely recommend this place. We were a group of 6 persons and everyone was beyond satisfied by the dedication and professionalism of our guide (Kamil). The weather in Tromso was cloudy and raining non-stop. We were all concerned about not being able to see the northern lights. But, snow-travels goes far distances to find clear skies and were spot on this time. We observed the northern light for quite a long time and even got to see dancing lights. Photographs taken by our guide showed a more professional level and the tripods provided really helped.

We were lucky to see the Northern Lights, and the driver made a genuine effort to maximise our chances despite difficult weather conditions. He ensured we got there and back safely with hotel drop-off and was persistent in taking photos of us with the lights, even in the extreme cold and wind. The main downside was the lack of communication, as the driver was also the tour guide and provided little explanation or direction throughout the evening. We were often unsure what was happening next, and many questions went unanswered. While the cold and wind were not the company’s fault, thermal suits were not offered. The van itself was very cold, and dinner was minimal, consisting only of bread and sausages cooked over the fire ourselves. Given the €300 per person price (the same for children), this felt like poor value, and we would have preferred a similar experience on a larger bus for less money, as the small group still felt impersonal.

- Met at 6:30pm. 15 in our small tour in a minibus. Delivered back to hotel 2:45am - Hard working, multi-tasking, determined to get the best lights Hassan, lights-chaser and lights aficionado extraordinaire, guide, (safe) driver, campfire maker and snack gander-outer. Popped us into Finland so we could tick that off our list. Constantly checking with guide teams where the lights were including via cameras they have set up for real-time checking. - Chocolate, biscuits, hot drinks, hotdogs, warm one-piece snow suits. Tripods for your mobile phone supplied. Bring your own crampons. And the warmest boots you can find. Even with the boot warmers also provided, it gets cold! - Knackered but happy. - Photos sent very efficiently as promised the next day. (Photos shown our own photos).

Excellent. I have joined this company twice. Both time they managed to get clear skies out of light pollution when it was overcast at Tromso. Northern lights were clearly visible both times, but super strong on the second time thanks to the solar activity. Very nice pictures taken at the event.

The overcast weather was against us for our tour on 12 November however Snow Travels were up front and told us the likelihood of seeing the lights was low. They offered a full refund to anyone who didn’t want to continue with the tour that night. A few took that option but as a group of 4 who had travelled from Australia and were leaving the next day we stayed and were rewarded at 2am with a great display of the lights. Hassan was on the phone constantly checking weather openings and worked really hard to find a clearing in the clouds. The tour went over time to maximise our chances of seeing the lights. In the end we were the only group out so late. Thank you to Marius and Hassan for your honesty and integrity. Based on our experience I wouldn’t recommend anyone else in Tromso to conduct our Northern Lights tour should we be fortunate enough to return one day. Will definitely be recommending Snow Travels to family and friends.

Really well organised, lovely tour guide who clearly loved his job and his positivity and enthusiasm were infectious. Great group size and good local knowledge of where to see the lights. Always on the look out for us for photo opportunities, willing to drive to wherever was best so that we could experience them. (Thanks Marius!!)

Wow! It was incredible! Our guide Kamil made this a night we will never forget. The lights were dancing from the minute we arrived. He made sure we got to see the Northern Lights do their thing and also made sure we had amazing pictures to capture it all. His genuine excitement and energy added to the experience. Truly spectacular. He then took the time to explain how it all happens. The fire was perfect, we cooked and enjoyed hot dogs, had snacks, drinks, and an amazing once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommend!!!!

10000x stars to Hassan & Marius!!! On a super cloudy & rainy night, we were blessed with an incredible, once in a lifetime aurora light show! So magnificent that our guide, Hassan was impressed even though he has seen the lights thousands of times growing up here. Even when the odds were against us, the lights glowed so strong we were able to see the pink and green hues with our naked eyes. What is impressive is that we were the ONLY group at our camp site, so we know it had to take a lot of experience and expertise from Snow Travels to ensure we were able to catch the lights tonight. THANK YOU HASSAN!!!!

Amazing experience! Although not guaranteed we got lucky and saw the lights! Our tour guide, Hassan was wonderful! So knowledgeable, kept stopping at different places to check the weather and kept us well fed with chocolate and biscuits! Small tour, only 10 people on the minibus which was perfect! The hot chocolate, tea and baileys whilst sitting on the beach at mid night watching the lights was a very nice experience! As a solo traveller I felt safe, was welcomed by Hassan and was dropped off outside my hotel at the end of the tour. Would I do this tour again………….absolutely!

Hassan was an enthusiastic and hilarious guide, and we got lucky with a great light show. He judged the weather conditions and we headed west for the view, but he said sometimes conditions warrant going into Finland instead.

I booked the tour in the morning on the same day, but the operator missed the booking. Thankfully, there were two empty spots, so we were able to join. The weather was perfect, and missing the northern lights would’ve been a real shame. The meeting point listed on Viator was confusing, stating "Fredrik Langes Gate" without clear details. The coordinates provided led us far from the actual meeting point, which is outside the **Scandic Ishavshotel**. We panicked when the tour operator didn’t answer our calls, and Viator wasn’t helpful. Luckily, we made it due to a time change we weren’t informed about. We asked around along the street, thinking we had missed the tour since it was already 30 minutes past the original time. Finally, we found the tour operator. The operator later gave us a 10% refund. Despite these hiccups, the tour was incredible. Hassan worked hard to ensure we saw the northern lights, and the bonfire added a magical touch. It was an unforgettable experience.

Can’t say how happy we were with the tour ! The guides were superb and knowledgeable and we had the best photos and experience. We have since spoken to a few people that went on other tours and didn’t see half of what we did and travelled twice as far as.. If you are looking to see the lights book with these guys. .. smiling , happy and great at what they do.

Marius went above and beyond to give us a great experience on a night when most other excursions had cancelled due to blizzard conditions. He found a beautiful spot for a campfire with food & warm drinks and against all odds we managed to see the northern lights! Compared to other bigger companies, this was more personalised and an unforgettable experience. Marius was interactive and clearly passionate about what he does so thank you !!

Fantastic experience 100% because of our guide. I appreciate the elusiveness of the lights more than I had prior to the trip. Our guide was passionate about getting us a good view- which was noticeable when we were near other groups (how much better this trip was). It took us across Norway and down into Finland - we did not see any activity until around midnight. The lights were active and we ended up with a great show. We did get back around 2:30am, but worth it. Highly recommend this tour!

Our guide Marius was very nice and experienced. Unfortunately we went on the tour on a quite cloudy night, but Marius went to different places so we could see the lights. The campfire part was interesting as well, we had hotdogs and hot chocolate, but the weather was too cold (-10C) for us to stay still for too long. But still we loved this tour and would definitely recommend this.

Marius was amazing! So knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was honest that our chances to see the lights were slim but Nothing was too much for him he made the whole experience great and never gave up searching for a gap in the clouds so we had a chance of seeing the lights, and we did! He drove us for 3 hours each way, such a long night but he didnt give up once he was happy and chatty and kept our spirits up the whole time. Definitely recommend Marius and this tour.

The guides Hassan and Marius each led a small tour on minibuses. We drove for a good couple of hours, stopping along the way for Hassan to jump our, check the skies etc, until finally we pulled over to a really nice location and he made a firepit whilst we put footwarmers he provided in our boots and layered up. No sooner had we stepped out of the van than the Nothern Lights appeared really vividly in the sky and Hassan took photos of each of us using his pro camera and tripod. We warmed hotdogs and marshmallows over the firepit and drank hot chocolate as we waiting for more dancing lights in the sky, and all in all had a really good time. On the way home we tried more locations and got the occasional brief glimpse of more lights. Although there's no guarantee of seeing the Northern Lights, I would highly recommend Marius and Hassan for their professionalism and knowledge to be in with a good chance.

Marius gave us an unforgettable night and amazing start to the NYE! Was very knowledgeable and also just a great vibe, and so many little extra details that made the trip so much fun :)

Hello, we had a great experience with this tour on January 1 st. We were lucky to see an explosion of northern light. But, actually the whole experience with Marius as an excellent guide made this a 5 star happening. Really only positive feelings and a once in a lifetime experience of the Bucket list!

Tour guide are so fun. Icing was seeing extra magnificent Northern lights show. Guides stopped when first saw the lights then took us to a fabulous location with mountains all around to watch Aurora dance all night. They even brought sparklers for New Year’s Eve and fireworks though we didn’t need them. The lights were a spectacular fireworks show. Lucky we only had to drive 30min as it was an unusually clear starry night. Definitely recommend this guide group snow travels. So special!! Oh ya and roasted our own sausages.

I’d give this tour 100 stars if I could! Superb guide, Marius. We started in Tromso in a near blizzard with little probability of seeing the lights. But Marius and his colleague in the other van figured out where to go (into Finland) and around 1:00 AM the snow and wind slowed, stars appeared and we saw the lights! Magical! Marius took care of everything; warm suits, various drinks, snacks, food, information, all provided in an enthusiastic and fun way. Pro tip concerning northern lights: book a tour! We Americans naively figured we’d see the lights every night from our hotel in Tromso. Perhaps at times you can, but they’re capricious and the city lights make them almost impossible to see even if there aren’t clouds. Marius knows where to go although he of course can’t guarantee it! Just book the tour though and don’t miss this chance-in-a-lifetime to see the lights. Thanks, Snow-travels! We are one satisfied group after this tour!

The sky didn't bloom for us but the guide was amazing. The trip was glorious and well worth it. They know what they're doing.

We had the most spectacular night with Snow Travels Aurora Tours and a small group of fantastic people on a journey to see the northern lights. Our tour guide, Hassan, was knowledgeable, professional, super polite and considerate of everyone on the tour. He was the most amazing guide who expertly drove us to a unique location from where, around a campfire we drank hot chocolate and toasted sausages whilst waiting for the Aurora. The professionalism of the tour company was evident even before we commenced the tour through all the considered interactions on the day. The three hour journey in search of clear skies was filled with engaging conversations and laughter. Within a few minutes of arriving at our destination the sky lit up with the most spectacular sky show. For nearly two hours we laughed, photographed and enjoyed the Aurora dancing across the sky. So glad my weeks of research into Aurora tour companies paid off, Snow Travels provided the most memorable of experiences. Thank you Hassan and Marius!

I did 2 nights of aurora hunting with Hasan and Marius back to back. They took us to this AMAZING spot.. truly one of the beautiful nature spot I've been in under the moonlight.. They made us campfire and had variety of food to please everyone. They knew where to go, what to do, when to go, when to stick around. Also, continuously trying to find amazing spots along the route to observe aurora that pops up randomly, (despite people sleeping). They truly went above and beyond for EVERYONE to feel safe, warm and comfortable. They did everything they could to let us experience mother nature that has no fixed schedule. Truly one of the most thoughtful tour guides I've ever met. From the bottom of my heart, they are amazing and i hope everything they do goes well. Highly recommend over other tours that has 30+ people/4+buses. Best Aurora Tour in Tromso.

It was a fantastic experience. Marius is a great guide and managed the group wonderfully. We were very lucky because it was overcasted for 10 days and finally we got one day with clear skies and the NL were dancing for us. The food was good and he also offered foot warmers that I really needed. The pics and videos are beautiful. I missed the date to downloaded them and the link was expired. I sent him an email and he promptly sent me a new link .

Marius is an amazing guide, he is so enthusiastic and passionate. On a night when alot of tours were being cancelled due to the weather he drove for 3hours into Finland and what an amazing light show we had, he was just as excited as us! He took lots of photos of everyone and e-mailed them all through before breakfast. The campfire was lovely and Marius made sure everyone was catered for and comfortable.Would recommend this trip to anyone going as it is a cut above the others.

The rain poured as we joined the tour. We had little hope but thought we’d just roll with it. Well… Marius and Hassan went the extra mile - literally.. We went east into Finland. Ended up 3 hours from Tromsø on a frozen open area. We huddled around a campfire, nobody felt the need for the thermal suits as it wasn’t too cold. When we first alighted from the mini bus there were little breaks in the clouds a little green. We settled down to cook hot dogs- it was mentioned that the moment food was cooking the lady Aurora may appear. Did she ever! From low expectations due to the weather we got a magical display. My iPhone pictures don’t do it credit- but that’s ok because Marius has sent 125 professional pictures!!!! So generous. Thank you for an amazing experience.

We had an excellent experience with Marius. He looked after the group very nicely and was an obliging, entertaining host. It was an icy night, but the viewing location was excellent and we had a spectacular aurora display over a few hours, giving as much photo opportunity as we wanted. Marius took lovely photos of everyone, which he shared.

We did our northern lights tour yesterday with Marius, and I can say it was the best thing we did. Marius is an excellent guide but above that, he is an awesome person and we had so much fun with him and our group. He drove us to the right spot to see the northern lights and we really couldn’t ask for anything better! Marius provided us with warm suits, nice food, hot chocolate, coffee, snacks, a bonfire and good talk. Needless to say, Marius took the best pictures of us under the lights. I am very glad our paths crossed and that it was with Marius that our one-in-a-life-time experience of seeing the Northern Lights happened. Thank you Marius for the great time and in our next time in Tromsø, you will be the first person we will contact!
