What a night! I really enjoyed the Northern Lights hunt with Arctic Glow. Travelling in a small group in their mini bus made the whole experience feel very personal. Kine and her husband Geir shared so much about the Northern Lights, the region and local traditions, you could tell how much they love what they do. And then the sky delivered: a spectacular show of Northern Lights in all colours, with plenty of time to simply watch and take pictures. The homemade cake was the perfect finishing touch. Warm, knowledgeable and genuinely lovely guides, I highly recommend heading out with them!

The organizers were outstanding; the team was highly motivated to ensure we had a unique experience and to track down the Northern Lights. They searched intensively for a good viewing spot, explained a lot along the way, and offered very delicious homemade cake. When the Northern Lights appeared, they were incredibly enthusiastic about taking unforgettable pictures of the participants. The way the photos were provided afterwards was also very accommodating and appreciative – thank you for the many great pictures and for making this activity in my 99th visited country unforgettable! I am generally not a person who gives unearned praise, but this tour was one of a kind and absolutely worth the money. I also booked another tour with a competitor, which simply couldn't compete with this one. Therefore, I can absolutely recommend this tour – there is probably no better way to go Northern Lights hunting!

Absolutely incredible northern lights tour—easily the highlight of our trip. Our guides were born and raised on an island north of Tromsø, so their local knowledge really showed. The conditions were challenging with lots of clouds, rain, and snow, but they kept searching and adjusting locations until we found clear breaks—and were rewarded with amazing views of the lights. It really is all about patience! They stopped a couple of times before finding the perfect spot, and the effort paid off. We had several chances to get photos taken, and they turned out fantastic—something we’ll treasure. Transportation was comfortable in a Mercedes Sprinter, and they also provided sandwiches, chocolate cake, plus hot chocolate and tea, which made the whole experience even better. Truly a memorable and well-run tour.

first & best northern lights tour!!!!!! we went on 8th march after being recommended by 1 of our friend in singapore and absolutely no regrets :) our tour was booked for 7th march at first but was cancelled and informed beforehand due to bad weather. we then rescheduled for the 8th and even though it was a little cloudy, the guide Kine was so patient and professional in leading us to see the lights, bringing us to different spots to wait for the lights to appear! we also got hot chocolate, bread with brown cheese & chocolate cake to end the tour! they also offered to drop us off near our accoms as it was late when the tour ended. could not recommend this tour guide more!!!!!!

I researched every available tour on viator before choosing Arctic Glow. Honestly, the 5 star reviews and the relatively low cost of the tour were the main deciding factors. I needn't have worried. From start to finish, the tour exceeded our expectations. We were taken to a private beach where we could enjoy a dazzling light show by the aurora in private - no need to chase the lights (we were lucky that solar activity was high that night), no other noisy groups and crowds; it was a really serene unrushed experience. Our group was led by Kine, who was fantastic, had great local knowledge and took really good care of us all. We were kept warm with a most welcome hot chocolate just when the cold was setting in and were fed local snacks, including Kine's homemade spice cake. Thank you for a really memorable trip.

Hands and feet get cold quickly. Guide were excellent. Mini bus were clean and warm. Bathroom facility very clean. We were lucky to experienced Northern like on our first try and it was amazing!!!

Our two guides were fantastic, knowledgable and passionate. They gave us a lot of information about how the northern lights are formed. It was lovely because in our five days in Tromso, with multiple tours booked, they were the only Norwegian guides we had. This made it special as they could tell us more about living in and around Tromso and growing up on a northern island. They also gave us Norwegian snacks - brown cheese on rye bread and a homemade cake! That was needed. It was not the best night for the lights, however, they took us to a remote place and waited until they arrived. We were not disappointed. They took photos of us and helped to get the settings right on my own camera to see them clearly. After the solar activity finished, we slowly made our way back to the city. The guides kept stopping to check we were not missing anything.

This tour is run very professionally. Geir and Kine are incredibly warm, friendly people who prioritize guest comfort and safety, providing us with reflective vests, blankets, hot drinks, and even homemade Norwegian snacks. Kine took the time to explain the science behind the northern lights and everything that has to fall into place for us to see them, and Geir took photos of each guest in multiple locations. The weather was extremely cloudy and unfortunately we ended up not seeing the lights, but Geir and Kine tried their best to give us an opportunity, even driving all the way to Finland. Because we got back close to 3am, they even drove each guest to their respective accommodation to ensure they got back safely. Though we didn't see the lights, my group was lucky enough to still be treated to a show from Mother Nature as we had a very curious fox circle and observe the group for 30 minutes or so. Overall it was a very pleasant evening and I would not hesitate to book with them for another chance at seeing the lights if I return to Tromsø!

A fantastic experience, helped along by the luck of a sudden spike in solar wind, which allowed our group to witness one of the most spectacular forms of the aurora (the corona) alongside many other types of bands, beams, and swirls. This was an exceptionally memorable night. Huge thanks to Inge and Kine for sharing their knowledge about the science behind the aurora and for the beautiful photos!

This is the best and most professional guided tour for northern lights we have ever joined in Tromso! Geir Inge and Kine are really enthusiastic and they took really professional and amazing photos. They are extremely good at picking spots, they took routes and stayed outside in the cold for hours to spot northern lights for us, and prepared us really tasty homemade food and brown cheese toast. This is a tour that I would recommend everyone to join if you ever visit Tromso, and I will join their tour again when I visit Tromso again!

Such a good tour, on a small mini-bus of maximum 19. Three guides, including 2 photoraphers, with the photos being included as part of the cost. They were all extremely friendly and knowledgeable. When they weren't taking photos they were speaking to speaking to people, telling them about the lights, seeing if they needed anything. I've never had more attentive guides on any tour i've done. Brilliant!

HOLY WOW! This was our 3rd Northern Lights tour on this trip but the first with this company and this one was by far, hands down THE BEST! Do not waste your money with another company because it doesn’t get better than this. Our tour guides were super friendly and professional. They took us to 2 locations where the lights were very active. SUCCESS! The van was comfortable and warm and the extra treats (hot chocolate, bread, cheese & cake) were above and beyond expectations. My only regret is that I didn’t book with this company first!

I can not say enough good things about this tour. The company is owned by a couple (Geir, Kine) and they were wonderful. There had been a lot of cloud cover and snow. We were concerned that we would not find a clear sky. Our tour guides used all resources communication with other guides and iphone aps. Traveling North we found a clearing and jumped out. They had two professional photographers that did amazing. We saw wonderful lights. It was short but magnificent. Geir and Kine were concerned with safety, since we were near a road, so we all put on safety vests. After our initial viewing we drove further North and saw another small / short light show. Kine made muffins, hot chocolate and coffee. Be prepared to drive, they provided blankets, the travel vehicle was a new van. There are also no facilities so if nature calls you may have to head to the bushes. (Bring Kleenex just in case.) It was late, but we were delivered to our hotel ,which was nice. I would totally go again!! Thank you for a memorial tour.

We went on the tour on November 28th. Shoja was great! He found a clearing in the skies and we stopped for our Aurora experience. Shoja worked tireslesslyto help everyone with photos and made sure we all had photos with the Aurora. Such a good time!

Last year, I did this same tour with Arctic Glow and the experience was so good that I decided to do it again. And I’m glad I did. Once more, everything was perfect: the guides truly care about us, our comfort, and especially about finding the best possible spot to see the aurora. With no pressure to end the tour at a fixed time, they go as far as needed to make sure everyone has the best experience. They’re kind, attentive, take amazing photos, handle the snacks, and look after our safety in a very natural way. This was my second time with them — and it definitely won’t be the last. Geir, Kine and Sohja - from the greating moment to the good bye time both me and my mom we felt felt their engagement to give the best experience and care! Care and atmosphere is needed, because if the weather in Tromso is not best, they will do everything to find the clear sky and it might be long way and waiting time. So to make it easier they offered termic overalls, hot chocolate, sandwiches, and...the home made cake! The last one was sooo good that even if we wouldn't see the northern lights I'd still go there for the cake! We went 2 h away from Tromso, found the clear sky, at the beginning it wasn't that visible and it took a bit of time to see it coming stronger, but they warmed us up motivating, uplifting the spirit and explaining the parameters changing in time. We came back after 7 hours, tired but really happy and greateful we chose this tour to see the norther lights. Thank you Arctic Glow! Yes you do glow :)

This Northern Lights tour was absolutely unforgettable. I read other travelers reviews and I chose it because of the guides. Geir Inge and Kine Mikkelsen, there were the reason it became so special. They were passionate, caring, and truly loved what they did. Everything was perfectly organized from pick up till drop off. They offered hot drinks, snacks specially the homemade cake. The bus was very comfortable and new. They made everyone feel comfortable and even helped capture the most beautiful photos. They super professionals in taking photos. I love all the photos from the tour. Watching the sky come alive with green light was pure magic, something I’ll never forget. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a real, heartfelt Northern Lights experience.

Arctic Glow, the best experience you’ll have of Northern Lights chase! Hands down 5-star excellent customer service! Inge and Kine are locals, the kindest, friendliest, down to earth people. Very knowledgeable on auroras too! We felt so very well looked after from start to finish. Despite the cloud cover, Inge found us a great night sky show! He also took very beautiful photos of everyone in the group and gave it to us the next day. The refreshments provided were enjoyable and served with much kindness. Kine made us try Norway’s native bread and brown cheese and her baked goodies are so yummy. The van is very comfortable and clean, Inge drives safely in the dark. The can is heated but when the night got colder, there were also blankets provided. Aurora is a long time bucket list item for us and we’re very glad we booked with Arctic Glow! It wasn’t just an experience, we felt we have new friends in these two! We travel a lot and do a lot of activities, this is honestly one of the very best and excellent customer service. Very highly recommended. No complaints, only praises for Arctic Glow! Hands down, 5-star service!

They are so kind & welcoming and love sharing all about Norway and the Northern Lights. They go above and beyond to make the evening a complete success! We saw an unbelievable show of the lights! They took us to a perfect location! Geir takes many professional pictures of everyone there and the lights themselves and shares them with you. So we ended up with beautiful pictures! Our very best recommendations. Not only did the 2 (locale) guides managed to find lots of northern light on a very cloudy evening starting out with rain and ending up in light snow, they also made a very cozy evening out of it and even after we had a long period with different colors and patterns of lightning the sky they did’nt stop chasing yet another experience for their guests. And guests we were treated as - first of all they were very keen about our safety including safety instructions and flourescent harness for everyone to wear when we went outside the bus - also the driving felt safe even when it was snowing. They had attention to all their guests and talked with everyone and also made sure that everyone got the opportunity to have their pictures taken (many) with a professional camera as long as the northern light was playing on the sky They also spoiled us with snacks during the evening - first bread with the local speciality Myseost to try (as we were tourists from all over the world) and later on a delicious home baked cake - both times with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and lemonade (also hot) When the northern light showed up, both guides did their very best to ensure that we all brought home good pictures including the pictures that they shut of every single of us + a group picture - and the pictures landed in our mailbox already the following day. Add to this that the van had great comfort and was very clean - and that pictures, snacks and beverages was all without exstra charge. Can ´t imagine that we could have choosen a better provider, so thank you very much to you Geir Inge and Kine, you made the evening unforgettable, and your enthusiasm was smitting.

Both of our guides were very good, professional and kind. We drove all the way to Finland, because of the bed weather report in Norway. When we finally reached and find ourselves a clear sky we were lucky to have an hour of magic happening in the sky. Our driver took some really good prictures of us and sent them to us the next day. After we were served with some food, hot drinks and delicious cake. It was nice way to warm ourselves up again. I would really reccomend this company because the group is small and they have a personal touch to it.

This is the best tour!! From Tromso they drove 3-4 hours deep into Finland to hunt for clear skies for the aurora all the way until we saw clear skies and beautiful aurora and polar clouds on 11 Feb 2025. They are so professional. Safety is their priority and he drove so safely. She baked so many home made goodies and kept us warm with hot drinks and food. They have so much information on the aurora and are so welcoming. the photos they took for us are fantastic and they really cared for each one to have the best experience. This was a brilliant Northern Lights tour. Despite poor weather conditions at the start of the tour, they were able to find a pocket of clear skies on an island to the north west of the city, and we were treated to several hours of absolutely amazing aurora. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The hosts were punctual, polite, accommodating and passionate about what they do. They are local to the area which meant that they had intimate knowledge of the best places to go to see the sightings - and I think this was evidenced during our tour, as despite the poor conditions we still had a fantastic light show. The guide couple was extremely kind and made our experience incredible! They are very passionate about the northern lights, which we appreciate a lot because we love them too!! We traveled from Chile to fulfill our dream of seeing northern lights, and they made everything perfect. From the best routes and stops to find the most beautiful northern lights, to delicious handmade food, they also took beautiful photos of us and took us to places in nature that were too beautiful, letting us have our space and enjoy the northern lights peacefully. With the Arctic Glow team around Geir Inge & Kine we made a really fantastic trip into the world of the Northern Lights: a small group in a top vehicle, very friendly and knowledgeable support, assistance to take good photos ourselves, uncomplicated booking at the very last minute... ...and the great fortune of seeing the aurora borealis for a good hour. There is no guarantee of a sighting - and despite all the prediction apps, even the experts at Arctic Glow say that you can only predict 1 hour before if "the green" shows up. So you should consider it a trip to the polar night, where you are lucky enough to be offered a magnificent spectacle.

Many tourists make the long journey to Tromso with the aim of seeing the fascinating aurora borealis. However, the skies in Tromsö are often cloudy through the winter, which is why many local tourist companies offer so-called "aurora hunts": you travel inland in a smaller or larger group with a tour bus in search of open sky and strong solar winds. On Viator and Get Your Guide there are really numerous offers, most with a mix of good and less good reviews and yes, you are then "spoiled for choice". However, we can assure you here that you are at the absolutely right address with Geir Inge and Kine: They know what they're doing and they're passionate about it. You can sense rightly that the Northern Lights are not just "work" for them, they are a matter of the heart and they have given everything on our tour to offer us the best possible experience. They always had their eyes on the sky and drove to the side of the road as soon as there were strong aurora borealis in the sky. Thanks to their experience and attention, we were able to see the best aurora borealis even at 2am when we were already on our way back. Despite bad weather forecasts, we found incredibly great and strong lights and Geir Inge is a super photographer who took beautiful pictures of all of us and made them available to us via Dropbox the very next morning. Furthermore, we were provided with coffee, tea etc. and best homemade cake according to an old recipe of Geir Inges grandma. And if you live vegan or have intolerances, report it in advance and Kine will be happy to spoil you with other treats. In a nutshell: there is no guarantee of aurora borealis, but these two do their best for a great experience and know what they are doing. For them, customer satisfaction is at the center and they love their work. We would definitely go hunting with them again!

Initially it snowed in Tromso and the outlook was not very positive to see the Northern Lights. We were told that the organization would do everything possible to make this possible. Several times they stopped to see if the sky would break open. As we drove on, the sky became clearer and, with the help of the camera, there were also beautiful northern lights. So impressively beautiful! Tired but so intensely satisfied we arrived back at our hotel after a 7.5 hour tour. Tips: make sure you have a good warm jacket, hat, gloves, long pants and shoes. On the bus it is wonderfully warm, but outside it is really cold, when you spot the northern lights. The hot chocolate was delicious as well as the Norwegian sandwich and cake. Please bring your own extra drinks. The local guides and the smaller group make the trip pleasant and personal, for us this was top. And.
