well done! group size oké! guide enthousiastic and helpful. organising people did extra efforts- chocolate milk, cookies, hours, pictures and finally supernice view of Northern light (unexpected with the bad forecast)

Thought this was going to be another disappointment like Reykjavik, where you can only see the lights with your camera. We made the trip so my wife could see the lights, we weren’t disappointed! Guide was very good tho we lost the group at the site, coordination could be better. But would still recommend this tour

It was amazing to see how northern lights forms and disappear. Our guide/driver Stephan was very attentive and explained not only about northern lights but also about many stars we could see with naked eyes. What a treat to have hot coffee under the natural planetarium!

Had an excellent tour with Mag, our tour guide, who worked with the NLT team to track weather conditions and take us to the best viewing location. He was knowledgeable, accommodating, kept our spirits high through the cold night with his bonhomie and some thoughtfully provided hot drinks and cookies. He went out of his way to ensure that everyone got multiple pictures of themselves with the northern lights - and we have some excellent pictures thanks to him! The northern lights were amazing and worth the trip to Tromso. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Our small bus tour was led by Stefan and it was excellent! Stefan was the perfect guide - informative, entertaining, professional and clearly enthusiastic about his job and clients. We did not have the best conditions as it was raining but Stefan drove until skies were clear and that meant we drove into Finland! We were able to see the lights and Stefan instructed us on how to take pictures with our phones while he took pictures of us. It was very exciting and so worth the added driving time. He even served us the best hot chocolate and ginger cookies. Although a lot of the time is driving, the bus is comfortable and Stefan's choice of music was quite nice. We were even driven back to our hotel in the wee morning hours. I highly recommend this tour. It will be a highlight of your trip to Tromso, Norway.

We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on this tour, and it was an unforgettable experience. Our guide Stefan was just amazing. He went out of his way to show us everything possible and clearly cared about making sure we got the best night we could. He also shared some of the common folklore around the lights, which made the whole thing feel much more special than just standing and watching the sky. The hot chocolate was a wonderful addition too, exactly what you want when you're out in the cold. Highly recommend this tour, and ask for Stefan if you can!

Stephen is an amazing tour guide. He was not only friendly but genuinely helpful. The experience was great itself but with a guide who knows what he is doing, it becomes priceless. He shared every available information regarding Northern Lights and helped us create a fantastic memory.

Peter, our driver and guide, has a very good knowlegde of aurora. It’s not just finding aurora but he patiently wait until the aurora reached strong solar activity that enable us to see it dancing in beautiful colors. It is very amazing view and it’s a once of a lifetime experience for us. Peter also brings a good camera and made sure we all have beautiful photos to take home. Highly recommended with Peter (NLT).

I was very lucky I was booked on another tour that got cancelled but this one went despite the challenging conditions Peter was our guide and drove us all the way to Finland where the lights came out for us. Peter was a friendly helpful guide who went to a great deal of trouble for us all and took some great photos for us.

Our Northern Lights tour with NLT was truly unforgettable. Stefan was an outstanding guide—knowledgeable, kind, and completely dedicated to giving us the best possible experience. The minivan was cozy, spotless, and felt brand new, which made the cold night so much more comfortable. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights, and the whole experience was beyond words. It felt magical. I also loved being in a small group—it made the night feel very personal and relaxed, like sharing something special with new friends. Stefan even offered us hot chocolate, which was exactly what we needed in the freezing weather. He helped us take beautiful photos too, turning the night into a once‑in‑a‑lifetime memory. I can’t recommend this tour—and NLT team—highly enough.

Bus seats way too tight. Could have just cancelled the trip if the chances of seeing the northern light is low. Just imaging paying the expensive ticket and spend 4 hours just riding the car with super tight space. What a terrible experience. Wish I had gone with another tour where they actually go to Finland to see it.

We chose NLT Guide Company for our northern lights chasing tour. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment for us. We perfectly know that northern lights are a phenomenon which depends completely on nature and is unpredictable but if all region (including Finland) is affected with tremendous snow storm and low clouds you simply cancel the tour (as many other tour operators did) and don’t pretend that there might be some openings and there is a chance to see northern lights. On the same night our friends had trips scheduled with other tour operators and they got canceled due to bad weather and dangerous driving conditions while our trip took place. We are not frustrated because we didn’t see the aurora but because of how the trip was organised and that it happened at all. It started very late (at 19:30) and the guide decided to take us all the way to Finland (3 hours one way) only to tell us that we are returning because (surprise surprise) it’s snowing heavily (while terrible snow was predicted in all weather forecasts). We did not even leave the bus for any activity and returned to Tromso at 3 am, extremely tired. In addition, the bus was driving extremely slow (all other cars were passing us by) cause it had broken windshield wipers - the driver stopped almost every 15 minutes to remove ice and snow from the wipers which consumed a lot of time and we found it extremely dangerous and unbelievable (they decided to drive during a snow storm and didn’t even check the wipers?!). It is also true that this company makes many unnecessary stops on the way (e.g. half an hour toilet stop one hour from departure). But the worst part of the tour was our tour guide - Katerina. She didn’t seem to be determined as if she knew from the very beginning that this tour will be a failure. She behaved like this job was a punishment for her, we didn’t even see her smile once and no real initiative or nice communication came from her. Hey NLT, if your employees are so exhausted then maybe you should give them a few days off. To sum up, apparently NLT Guide Company chases money not the northern lights.

Peter was an excellent guide for our northern lights tour. We had some wonderful photos and felt very safe with his driving in very tough conditions. He went above and beyond chasing clear skies all the way into Finland for us and made sure photo opportunities were fair between all the groups too. Being dropped off close to our hotel at the end was also a bonus after a very long night. Would definitely recommend, thank you!

Our Northern Lights safari in Tromsø was truly unforgettable. Our guide Stefan was incredibly friendly, passionate and knew exactly where to go. We had an incredible experience on our Northern Lights tour in Tromsø, and it was the perfect way to spend our first night in the city. Peter was our guide and he was outstanding—informative, kind, and genuinely committed to giving everyone the best possible experience. We also felt completely safe with him behind the wheel, even while driving for hours through snow and challenging winter roads. The bus was comfortable, warm, and not overcrowded, which made the long drive much easier. Peter took us wherever we needed to go to find clear skies, including all the way into Finland, since Tromsø’s weather can change so quickly. His goal was clearly to give us the highest chance of seeing the lights, and he delivered. Once we arrived at the viewing spot, he set up his camera, took amazing photos of everyone, and offered us cookies and hot cocoa while we waited. It was the perfect touch and made the experience feel even more special. Overall, this tour was absolutely worth it. We’d recommend it to anyone visiting Tromsø and would gladly do it again.

An absolutely amazing experience. We were incredibly lucky to get plenty of glimpses of the Northern lights during our tour. We were part of a group of 15 and our guide Stefan was brilliant, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He drove safely to all of the spots for us to catch the lights, giving us information and stories along the way. We even had hot chocolate and biscuits to warm us up whilst we waited patiently for them to make another appearance. He took the perfect photos which he sent to us that evening for no extra charge as well as helping us capture the images in our own phone cameras. I would definitely recommend NLT and Stefan for your trip.

My family and I joined a Northern Lights tour with NLT on October 12, 2025. Our guide was Peter. When it started raining as we got on the bus, I secretly thought, “Guess we won’t get to see the Northern Lights tonight.” Peter was such a great guide — he made sure we were all comfortable on the bus and kept adjusting the temperature so we’d stay warm. At the first stop, there were lots of clouds, so we could only see a faint light. But Peter didn’t give up. He drove us to another spot farther away, and there we finally saw beautiful green and red Northern Lights. Everyone got amazing photos! My family and I were so excited and deeply impressed. Thanks to Peter and NLT for making our dream of seeing the Northern Lights come true.

Stefán was a fantastic guide! He drove, took photos with and for us, he was super helpful even in helping us set up the camera correctly, he was super nice and funny! He told us so many anecdotes, stories and legends! A complete handyman! Highly recommended!

We had the best time with Emily, she was really lovely and patient and told us a lot of interisting anectodes: we had an awful week weather-wise and on our last night - there she was - lady aurora appeared! I highly recommend booking with them :) The driver was also really nice and we enjoyed some hot chocolate and cookies.

I'm very glad I went. Without knowing the area, I would not have found a good place, and I wouldn't have stayed up so late to see them! The guide was great with information and stories, and the stars and moon were lovely while we waited. I also appreciate his pictures, since my older camera and phone didn't really see the lights, and not in color.

Whilst it's the coldest I think I have ever been, this was the most awesome inspiring show I have ever seen. Stefan our guide was informative and well informed with a huge tank of enthusiasm which he combined with up to the minute data and feedback from the other hunters, knowledge and real intuition. I am not sure how he juggled everything whilst taking the most stunning photographs too. Highly recommended. I will never forget it.

Our guide Jack was simply amazing. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the greatest experience. Not only he tirelessly chased the northern lights all night, but he also took non stop pictures of all the group (and individuals) from all the angles to capture the stunning lights show. He also managed to explained us the science behind the northern lights by making it so easy and simple to understand. We genuinely enjoyed his knowledge, leadership and guidance. Drivers (Sven and Johnny) were also super kind and polite, always ready to help us and offer us some cookies and hot chocolate. We loved this tour so much that we took it for 2 consecutive nights by requesting the same guide. Pictures were timely sent through Dropbox link the morning after. 100% recommend

Katarina and Johnny were amazing finding the most incredible lights far from any light pollution. We had the best time and highly recommend to anyone in the area. It was a last minute add to our agenda based on fantastic reviews from another couple we met!! Sooooo thankful we did this on our last night even though we got 3 hrs of sleep before catching our flight!! Totally worth it! THANK YOU!!!

It was a nice trip. Shout out to Emily our guide who spotted the Northern Light quickly. Snacks and hot chocolate provided by the company. They dropped near to our Airbnb. I received the photos taken by our guide soon after the email. Overall it was a nice trip.

Stefan was a brilliant guide, he told us all about the origin of the lights and also helped us identify what looked like wispy cloud formations to the naked eye but seen through a camera lens came to astonishing, dazzling life!

Great Tour . Johhny and Peter have done anything possible to get best place , with no crowd around (at the end, we were 3 small groups on a quite big spot , without interfering each other) . Even it was long ride at the end it was really worth it. We waited quite a long , even there were just small traces of lights, winter sky was amazing . Then one of the groups left and other get ready to leave, and Peter insisted that we stay longer. We were sitting in a car and he was outside , waiting.... and then it happened, this stuning natural show. We can say, we saw it just because Peter was so stubborn :):):):):):). So, not much to say. Only thank you.

Went t9 Tromsø and took the NL tour with NLT and had a great experience!! Loved the fact that it did NOT include meal and campfire as that allowed them to start the tour later in the evening and thus we had the evening free for us to have nice dinner before the tour. Peter and Harold did good job operating the tour. Found the perfect spot with clear skies and due to tough weather, about 15 buses ended up in the same area but our tour operator still found an isolated spot for us far from the crowd And away from the main roads. We could not go on 15th and NLT happily moved the tour to 16th and we got lucked out, on 16th NL graciously showered us with its presence and amazing show. I highly recommend this tour.

Our guide was Peter and he was very friendly and knowledgeable right from the start. You could tell he was passionate about the northern lights and truly wanted everyone to see them and have a photo with them! We saw some northern lights at our chosen view point and headed back to tromso. Half way back he got the bus to stop and shouted everyone to get out and look up. We saw the most AMAZING northern lights and more than I ever expected!! Thank you to Peter and our driver Erling. We will never forget. Highly recommend this tour!!

Booked a NLT during our three night visit to Tromso. Pick up was smooth and our guide (Peter?) was very informative useing both apps and contacts to decide on best place to go. We didn't realise the package included him taking some stunning images with profexianl.xera equipment that really made the evening. We got some fabulous images sent to us and enjoyed a beautiful night under the northern lights.

Amazing experience! not only the lights are fantastic! But also, Jack our guide who made the experience just amazing, his patience and good disposition were definitely key to have a double show the night of our tour and we learned a lot about the aurora phenomenon.

This was an amazing adventure to find the Northern Lights! Our guide, Stefan, was friendly, funny, experienced, and kept us safe at all times. We were all worried that we wouldn't be able to see the Aurora due to snow and clouds but our guide never gave up! He drove us to several locations until we found the brightest greens of the night. I highly recommend this excursion if you're in Tromsø!

We had the pleasure of being shown the lights by Magnus. Magnus worked tirelessly to ensure that we wouldn't go home empty handed and was in constant dialogue to find out where we had the best chance of seeing the lights. We passed the Finnish border and was met with the most amazing experience that I have ever witnessed. A full on show was on display, the Aurora Borealis greeted us and danced in the wonderful night sky. Thank you Magnus for allowing us to experience this moment. I couldn't recommend it enough!

We attended a tour with Stefan. He was very informative in the best way to see the Northern light. We were celebrating our birthdays whilst in Tromso so his effort went a really long way to making this a special occasion. We recommend this company and experience to anyone visiting Tromso.

The tour was really good. We saw the lights and at the second location saw them for a very long time. Our guide was Peter. We started immediately upon arriving as the northern lights were visible and we went behind mountain. We saw the lights but it was not as strong. Then we moved to another place 2-2.5 hours away where we saw some very strong lights. We were also served with hot chocolate and biscuits which was really nice. I would like to also give some extra points or credit to Peter as he took some of the most amazing photographs as well us dropped us home to our Airbnb when that was not even part of the package. Would recommend 100/100.

I felt that Giacomo and the driver really thoughtfully treated us on the minibus. Despite having to work really hard to catch a bit of the lights due to the clouds, we were driven to lots of places and Jack did not rush us when taking pictures and even stopped the bus when he saw more lights on the way back. Both he and the driver made it a pleasant adventure and I felt that me and my parents had a great time that we wouldn't have had possibly if we were in a much larger tour. We felt that both men really wanted us to enjoy the lights and have a good experience. I didn't feel rushed or worried at all and really appreciated the stops and the picture opportunities, and the friendly hot chocolate and biscuits time. We did get some lovely pictures as well which NTL uploaded for us to download from them, and they even followed up for me about one of the pictures. It was a memorable and fun adventure!

We had a perfect experience with NLT Guide Company, everything very organized, comfortable van. The best part was our guide Stefan, he was AWESOME!! Very friendly, dedicated, we saw an amazing Aurora Borealis, it was fantastic!! Thank you, Stefan!!
