Had a wonderful time. The girls were relentless to beat bad weather to find best place for us to camp to enjoy clear skies and spotted good lights and made us very comfortable from starting fire and feeding us while taking countless pictures. Big thanks to them and our driver was awesome to drive forever and safely got us back. Need to mention the gear they provided and the support, it was so helpful. Go girls, thanks!!!

Punctual, friendly and organized. Facilities/ needed equipment were in good condition. First night condition were not good but our guide tried the best, the second night it was just magical!
Booked the big bus tour (directly) because there was a bathroom on board and felt it might be more comfortable for a long night tour than a small bus/van. Met at the designated meeting spot, where they called out names and directed you to the bus. The aurora was already starting as we were leaving. There was one family that was very late and the driver was nice enough to accommodate a pickup location across the bridge just for them, but it delayed the start time (don't be those people!). We drove less than an hour before the guide decided it was a good time to pull over because the aurora was getting stronger. They managed to find a pull off where we had an hour of pure magic. I took so many photos, as did the 2 photographers (I paid extra for their photos, and they provided the link after they uploaded them to Dropbox). They took pictures of just aurora and people with aurora in the background. People went inside the bus when they got too cold, but we were geared up well and stayed out until the guide was ready to move on to the final destination. We went all the way out to Skibotndissa (about 1 hr 30 drive time). There wasn't much activity at first. There was a swing that was good for photos. The guides made a bonfire and provided hot drinks and snacks. By the end, most people had made their way back to the bus. There was another little aurora show most people missed. We stayed about 2 hours at this spot. We helped the guides bring their supplies back to the bus. It was a little icy walking from the parking lot to the water. Since we had seen aurora twice, the guides called it a night early. I was relieved since we had an early morning flight to Lofoten.
I took the aurora tour in February and it was hands down the best decision I made. If you’re looking for a tour that feels personal rather than commercial, this is it. The organization was top-notch, but what really stood out was the human approach of the staff. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts about the lights that you won't find in a basic brochure. Even though we were there for the Aurora, some of my favorite memories are actually from the "downtime." Sitting by the fire, drinking delicious hot chocolate, and making s'mores while chatting with new people from all over the world was a magical experience. It felt like a gathering of friends rather than a group of strangers. As for the main event—the Aurora was breathtaking. I managed to get some stunning photos that I will cherish forever. It was a truly incredible event and worth every cent. If you're on the fence about booking, just do it. You won’t regret it! P.S. If you are like me and forgot a tripod (which turned to be quite important) a small pot or a big coffe mug works just as good :) Saying from experience.
Albeit NL sightings not promised, I dont think the tour delivered what it said. They mentioned we will touch 3 locations but ended up only 2: Hansnes and Stornes. The weather was harsh with the strong wind and cloudy skies plus the rain. Most of us anticipated a 3rd venue so we stayed put as we waited to leave but to our disappointment, we were already headed back to Tromso at midnight. The word "Chase" in the title is misleading. It's just 2 spots. Lucky if they even make good with their words. On board: Angel, Nana (asst), Oge (driver, local). Tragic. I immediately canceled the other tour with this provider.
Very nice adventure! They drove far to find clear skies, we could also have warm chocolate and a expedition food that was better than expected.
Our tour guides and drivers are very nice and patient. They speak clearly and true facts about the Aurora Borealis.
It was a great tour despite the weather manged to get some nice photos and the scenery was lovely. It was very nice to have the option to get back on the bus when we needed to warm up a bit. The guides were really welcoming and knowledgeable.
There was no chasing the lights. They took us to spot, arrived about 7pm still overcast but expected to clear up about 9pm. It just happens to be spot where all the busses go as well. There 5 buses/250 people in the same place to see northern lights. We arrived about 7 pm,it was dark out and there was patches of icy snow and round tuffs of moss so it was difficult to move around without light. So of course everyone was using lights which blinded me wiping out my night vision making it hard to see the sky. The Northern Lights were there but very faint, at first couldn't get a picture of it. They did get a little better as the night progress but not until after 9pm. Unfortunately, we got a great string of light but we had to leave. So wonder if it would have built into a great show had we stayed 15 min longer.
We went on the Aurora chase with Dimitar and Angel. It was very good experience, and they made all the efforts for us to be comfortable and show us the Aurora. There was a lot of cloud cover but they drove us really far inland, almost to the Finland border to find a gap in the clouds. And we did. And we received great photos from them. Thank you.
Wonderfull, very well organized tour. The tourguide was really an expert and the busdriver very experienced. Arctic Explorers was very communicative so no worries that you will miss the bus or so. We had the amazing experience of seeing the northern lights in a beautiful valley somewhere close to the border of Finland, with a warm bus to warm up every now and then and a nice campfire with some treats. The photo's made by the tourguide were a very nice gift, too! 100% super fantastic experience
Incredible experience and Miguel and Angel were great guides!
Great trip. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. They constantly monitor weather conditions and were able to find a spot with clear skies to watch the aurora.
We had an extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience with this company, and I feel obligated to warn other travelers. The scheduled departure time for our aurora borealis excursion was 17:30. We arrived at the agreed meeting point at 17:20, well in advance. Upon arrival, one guide instructed us to go around the corner to another location where a bus was supposedly waiting for us. We followed those instructions, but when we reached the indicated bus, the driver told us that it was not the correct one. We then walked around searching for the correct bus, asking multiple drivers and guides for assistance. Each time we received conflicting information. One guide redirected us back to the original meeting point. After going back and forth several times and receiving contradictory directions, a guide finally escorted us to one of the buses we had already checked — where passengers were already boarding — and we ended up being the last to get on due entirely to their poor organization and miscommunication. Because we boarded last, only scattered seats remained. We were traveling with a 7-year-old child, and the guides — who were notably unfriendly and unhelpful — told us that if we wanted to sit together, it was our responsibility to ask other passengers to move. This is completely unacceptable, as seating arrangements and passenger assistance should be managed by the company staff, especially when families with children are involved. To make matters worse, the staff then approached other passengers and falsely claimed that we were asking to take their seats. Since I understand English well, I immediately corrected them and explained that this was not true. Shortly afterward, we were told to get off the bus because allegedly the driver did not want to travel with us. We calmly refused, as we had done nothing wrong and had paid for the excursion. Eventually, the company manager arrived. Despite our clear explanation of the situation, the bus remained delayed, and the police were called. We were forced to leave and ultimately missed the excursion that we had already paid for. We then booked the same type of excursion with another company, where we were treated with professionalism, kindness, and respect — demonstrating that the problem was clearly not us, but the lack of organization and poor customer handling of this company. This experience was stressful, unfair, and completely avoidable. The staff showed poor communication, lack of accountability, and unacceptable customer service, especially toward a family traveling with a young child. I strongly recommend that other travelers consider alternative companies unless this organization significantly improves its professionalism, communication, and respect for clients.
Absolutely Magical evening. Clear skies gave us a fantastic light show. Professionally well organised trip with expert guides. Do not miss this event if you ever visit Norway. "AURORASOME" !!
Angel and Dimitri were amazing guides. Very proffesional and they know alot. Even the bus driver was nice to everybody. They were very attentive to everyone. It was nice to talk by the fire making smores
This Northern Lights tour with Ángel and Dimitar was exceeding all our expectations. We were lucky to have clear skies and the most amazing view of the auroras. The guides were always friendly, helpful and in good mood. The photos were stunning and a great way to remember a great trip. I can only recommend this tour!
What an incredible experience. I recommend it. Our guide Dimitar was amazing and he made us a very good photos
Perfect. Guides: perfect. Organization: perfect. We done two minibus tours o see northern lights: all was perfect. The first day the minus driver drived 3 hours to find a gap in the clouds and to see aurora. Very excellent
Excellent tour. Would recommend. The guides were brilliant and determined to find the Northern Lights. Comfy bus. Good view of lights.
Full northern lights experience with really good guides: Angel and Miguel were amazing. Will recommend to everyone coming to Trømso
Pick-up was professionally arranged and very easy. Guides and professional photographer (Gorgi and wife) were excellent and had several plans arranged. We were very lucky and plan A was all that was needed! Headed out to a beach near Brensholmen and got the most incredible show for hours. Camp fires, hot chocolate and biscuits to end with too. Magical night I'll never forget. Thank you so much and to the very safe coach driver. 100% recommend.
Booked the big bus tour last minute on the day itself, and happy to get upgraded to mini bus chase. Warm outfit & shoe was provided by the team. Guide Magdalena was super knowledgable to share us plenty of insights on Northern Lights, Sami culture, Norway! We did 3 stops for the lights & one of it were so pretty that I even got it recorded in video! Highly recommend this tour to everyone who wana experience the magic of Northern Lights!
10/10 experience The tour guides were soo professional Explained the science behind it 👌👌 Learned couple of new things in life !
Awesome!!!!! Great guide, great food by the campfire, and WE GOT TO SEE THE WONDERFUL LIGHTS!! (not garanteed tho) Totally worth it
Petra and our driver went out of their way to collect us form our accomodation after confusion at the pickup point. Her expertise in photographic catching of lights was perfect...got GREAT shots. Reindeer soup, Thai curry & marshmellows at the firepit were good. Arctic suits/boots were warm & compared to other operators the price was RIGHT. Worth the money, well done...Annette & Curtis
Amazing tour! They will travel to places they know you will have the best experience. Petra was knowledgeable and very patient with all tourists. It was an unforgettable experience. 10/10.
Profesionalism exhibited By the Arctic explorer team with good knowledge sharing about Northern lights and provision of outdoor suit and boots and of course realised our dream of seeing the Aurora visually!👍
We weren’t lucky enough to see the northern lights but Petra never gave up hope and kept trying. Even though the lights didn’t make an appearance the experience was amazing. I will remember for the rest of my life sitting on reindeer skins in the snow around a campfire drinking hot chocolate! How many people will have done that? Petra and our driver were both excellent I’d highly recommend. Thankyou Petra you made our experience wonderful
Georgi, our guide, made our northern lights chase vey very beautiful. Very friendly and helpful. In my view, an Aurora borealis tour is a must book when you come to Tromso especially this one. Couldn’t get happier, thank you Georgi!!🙏🏻🙏🏻
Giorgi is the best he showed us everything he showed us the best aurora he was so friendly he made our trip much better thank u so much Giorgi the best!!!
Our guide Nelson was amazing! So enthusiastic and knowledgeable and funny too! We got very lucky and saw an incredible show at our first stop, we then went to a second stop where we saw even more and had a campfire and dinner (the food was actually really good) and lots of toasted marshmallows!! We had a free upgrade from the big bus to the minivan option where we had really warm snow suits and boots. The guides helped us get dressed up warmly. The photos Nelson took were amazing too and he uploaded them so fast!
Me and my daughter went on this tour on oktober 22nd. Before the start we got told there were not enough people for the big bus so we got an upgrade to the minibus tour. We got the boots and the overall to protect us against the cold. We were in the bus with Nelson, Iyun (not sure if I quote her name correct) and driver Adam. The tour started and we arrived at Nelson's favorite spot. It was so peaceful, and at soon as we got o the bus mother nature was already presenting herself. A big shy at the beginning, but what a wonderful show she gave us the whole evening. Nelson is the best, he is so enhousiastic, very respectful and he told us this was the best show of mother nature he had seen in a long time. We were so blessed with his very amazing attitude. He really is an extra ordinary person. A bless for the company. He made the best pitures and made us all, at least me and my daughter, feel very very welcome on this tour. Thank you so soooo much. And a special thanks to Adam, driving us safe and sound throught the icy roads and environment. Thanks again sooooo much for making our dream come true that night. Keep up the good work and stay like you are!
One of the most memorable, unforgettable, and a lifetime experience/memory last night of witnessing the celestial miracle called Northern Lights..and all thanks to just 1 man MR NELSON.. who was just too good. Any amount of praise or appreciation will be less . Not for he spotting the Northern Lights within an hour of our journey but his constant lookout and various weather chart, followup, regular chats with his other contact... he managed to spot and stop at a place where no one expected. And the dazzling display of colours across the sky and NORTHERN LIGHTS welcoming us with open arms and giving us grand appearance., couldn't ask for more. MR NELSON was too good.. before the journey commenced he was very truthful and informed us that chances to sight NL not very great but he would do his very best and give in everything to ensure that even if 1% chance of sighting NL was there he would go to any distance to give us that experience. He was very knowledgeable, very friendly, honest, sincere and above all a person who loves nature and very grounded . Respects nature in all its form . His immense knowledge and above all sharing with us constantly about the science behind NL etc was an eye opener and very informative... he was so eager and sincere to somehow sight NL and to give us the lifetime experience, that the celestial gods did answer him in kind . We could spend more than 1 hour in a particular spot with best sighting of NL. Patience was the key . Thankz Mr Nelson ,once again. Later the campfire, next to a river ,with dinner, marshmallows.. quiz with more prizes for wrong answers, was just too good. Then imparting knowledge on NL , fire, sami people, as well as REAL MRE dinner which was yummm..all in all Mr Nelson is a boon to Arctic Explorers. Also would like to thank Mr Adam the main person in charge of taking us all over the place through the night. Thanks to Arctic Explorers team for constantly reminding us to ignore the weather warnings , etc and just to trust them to do their job. So in behalf of our entire group of 16 people THANKS TO ALL . Best Regards Ram and Brenda
Was one in a lifetime. Possibility to see the lights was 2-3/10 and the crew tried their very best to find them, we went all the way to the border! I am so pleased. The only thing is I love photos and I’ve posed a lot, and even though I emailed to receive all my photos, I never received it. It’s a bit sad but other than that it was PERFEKT! I feel very lucky. Tromso is. great city by the way. I will definitely come back :)
This was my 2nd night (out of 4) of aurora borealis hunting in early March, but the only one where I used a big bus group. There was a quite intermittently strong lights that night, but unfortunately the clouds were quite fully covering the sky too. The price of the big bus tour was cheaper, but the chance of catching the northern lights is similar. There was also bonfire with marshmallows and hot chocolates. That said, the downside was it was difficult for the guide to take many individual pictures with the aurora, as there were around 30+ people in the tour.
Wonderful experience with Georgi, our guide. We had a lot of fun. That said, my group found the minibus experience, from the same company, significantly better that I would recommend that you look at that experience instead (I have a review there).
This was a bucket list excursion for my wife and I. We were not disappointed in the least. We had originally signed up for the Big Bus Chase, but the tour company upgraded us to this mini bus trip. Our guide, Tomas, was one of the best we have ever encountered on many touring trips. He worked very hard to make sure we got to see a spectacular display of the northern lights. He treated us like long, lost friends. I would highly recommend asking for him for a guide.
Great experience, guides so so nice and helpful and really wanted to give us best night possible. Recommend
I do believe we were extremely lucky in being able to see the lights that we saw. It was a fantastic show of lights and we were able to see them with the naked eye- a true life experience. Another reason I believe we were so lucky was because the two guides, Georgi and Gabby, were direct with their instructions and we were the first bus to get to the bathroom stop and to the spot where it seemed most busses stopped to see the lights. The light show was fantastic and the photos we were able to get were amazing. Some of the professional photos from Georgi turned out really well with lights in the background, and some did not. I guess it's hit or miss on what you get. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants a chance to see a good light show.
Georgi and Gabby were welcoming to our family with young children. They went above and beyond, and found a spectacular display of lights.
We really enjoyed looking for the northern lights with our tour guide Iris. She is a really cheerful and fun person, and non-stop encouraging us to be patient and also chat with the tour people while waiting for the northern lights. She is also very informative and took excellent pictures of us with the northern lights. We are really grateful and happy that we have her as our guide. Without her cheerful personality and non stop encouragement, we would have given up waiting in the cold dark environment for the northern lights. We really recommend Arctic Explorers tour for those who want to hunt the northern lights.
Our tour to see the Northern Lights was truly a magical experience. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, making the trip even more enjoyable. We gathered around a warm fire, which was perfect for overcoming the chilly temperatures while we waited in anticipation of the lights. When the vibrant colors finally danced across the sky, it was breathtaking! We captured stunning pictures that will serve as amazing memories for years to come. Overall, the tour was beautifully organized, and the combination of nature's wonders and the warmth of camaraderie made it an unforgettable adventure. Highly recommended!
My husband n i had the most magical n mesmerising experience of witnessing the northern lights on 12th March 2025 under the guidance of Jacob n Jefta for more than 2 hours. It was a one of its kind experience n words are just not enough to describe this magnificent n brilliant show put up by the sky n nature. For us it was a dream come true. Owe our deepest gratitude to guide Jefta n Jacob who are truly experienced n knowledgeable about the northern lights n its perfect chase.
I had an incredible experience on this Northern Lights tour! The guides were not only friendly and welcoming but also extremely knowledgeable about the aurora and the local area. They shared fascinating insights about the science behind the lights and the best ways to capture them on camera. The tour was well-organized, and the team went above and beyond to ensure we had the best chance of seeing the lights, even adjusting locations based on weather conditions. Their enthusiasm made the experience even more special. I would absolutely return for another tour with them and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a magical and informative Northern Lights adventure! Thank you Georgi and Gabriella!
I can‘t speak for the big bus chase, as we got upgraded to the minivan last minute, but… It was an amazing experience! Iris, an experienced, knowledgeable guide, led us to an amazing spot where we saw incredible activity. She was constantly checking the forecasts, communicating with other „chasers“ and keeping track of the weather in order to find the best spot for us. Even when it seemed that not much was going to happen, she kept her calm and assured us something was coming. And it did! She also gave us loads of information about Norway, the countryside, economy and of course the Aurora itself.
Our experience with Arctic Explorers was definitely unforgettable. The team is amazing and friendly. Our guides Georgi and Gabriela managed to talk to everyone in the group. They answered all our questions and did their best so that we could really have the best experience and see the Northern Lights. If needed, they will even take you to Finland in order to have the best view! Our guides also managed to capture this special moment with a professional camera and provided access to the photos really fast (all included in the price) Georgi and Gabriela are definitely a great team and professionals with lots of knowledge about the Northern Lights and everything connected to it. I definitely recommend to experience the Northern Lights adventure with Arctic Explorers and you will be the luckiest if Georgi and Gabriela are your guides.
Great tour! The guides are amazing and made us experience something incredible. They took us all the way to Finland to make sure we saw the lights. Excellent hospitality, with tea and hot chocolate, and they also gave us some snacks. We had a wonderful evening! Highly recommended!
Was so good, the guides did eveything they could to make sure we had a magical experience and got to see the lights. They were also very knowledgeable.
From start to finish this experience was amazing. Staff go above and beyond. Added bonus we were so lucky to see the lights. Stunning.
