This was a truly exceptional experience. We went in a small group with a total of 6 people. Our guide was very attentive and knowledgeable. He is also a very talented photographer and got great photos of us with the aurora. Even though it was not the best night and we had clouds and moonlight, we still got some amazing shots! I highly recommend this for smaller groups

AMAZING! The odds were stacked against because the forecast wasn’t very optimal. However, we were able to see how professional our guide was to bring us to areas where we would see the lights. He was a true intuitive in regard to navigation to find the lights. This was one of the best experiences we could have hoped for. My only tip would wear WARM boots and socks! The photos are beautiful, and we got loads! We’d definitely recommend to anyone looking

It was magical!! In the middle of nowhere we witnessed the magical aurora lights!!! Our guide was experienced and enthusiastic and built a cozy fire to warm up. I will definitely recommend this tour!

Our northern lights chase with ALSHEMAL Norway was truly incredible and easily one of the highlights of our trip. From start to finish, the experience felt personal, educational, and genuinely special. Our host, Jinyar, was fantastic—warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. We learned so much about the northern lights, how they form, and how to photograph them properly, which made the whole experience even more meaningful. Not only did we take amazing photos ourselves, but Jinyar also took stunning professional-quality photos of us with the northern lights, ensuring we have beautiful memories of the experience—not just pictures of the sky. The photos were absolutely life-changing—far beyond anything we imagined. On top of that, spending time by a fire out in the wilderness while waiting for the aurora made the night feel magical and intimate, not rushed or touristy. If you’re looking for a northern lights tour that combines learning, adventure, breathtaking photography, and an amazing host, I can’t recommend ALSHEMAL Norway enough. We had the best night of our life in this tour. Our tour guide was Jinyar. He is the kindest, helpful tour guide you could ever have. He drove us to 3 different sites until he found the best and let me tell you the best spot to experience the NorthernLights. We had never seen the Northern Lights and I must say it is a wonderful, unreal experience. He took all of our pictures and the pictures came out awesome, they send you the pictures the next day and they are pics that you will cherish for the rest of your life. He was a very safe driver and we never felt unsafe. He starts a bonfire, serves you hot chocolate and candy bar. Then he tells you the facts of how the Northern lights are created. This tour was awesome and having Jinyar as our tour guide made it incredible. Thank you Alshhemal Norway and an extreme thank you to Jinyar for making our night MAGICAL.

The tour was fine, but the 3-stars is given due to the photos; not a single photo was sent of just the aurora, they were all shots of random travellers in the group. For a photo experience I would have expected a quality of photos of the aurora that were better than the ones taken with my phone.

Nice coach and guides but no northern lights seen. Other tours same night managed to see. Hoped to do a repeat tour as the website states a 50% off guarantee. Company would not honour any sort of discussion of a discount ("old offer"), so I booked a much cheaper tour with a second tour company who went the extra mile to show me the Northern Lights. This other company also had a guarantee.

Great hosts: very considered, welcoming and funny. Guides were very knowledgeable about the lights. They suggested to move my booking by one day as the conditions were not ideal. They hold their promise, you are not doing the tour if there is no chance to see any aurora. Seeing the lights was incredibly beautiful.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Northern Lights Tour in Tromsø! We joined the Northern Lights tour on 21 October 2025, and it was an unforgettable experience! Our guide, Jinyar, was very knowledgeable — he knew exactly where to take us and was very patient, driving to several locations until we finally saw the magical aurora lights. He took beautiful photos of us (all included in the tour at no extra cost!). He started a cozy campfire, we enjoyed delicious hot chocolate and snacks. Jinyar shared many fascinating facts about the northern lights and fjords, making the experience both fun and educational. Everything was well-organized and comfortable from start to finish. We highly recommend this tour!

The tour was amazing, Mark was very experienced, friendly and knowledgeable about the auroras, and also the pictures he took were amazing. He took us to a really beautiful spot with mountains and water to watch the auroras, I highly recommend this service.

Our group were very happy with our tour choice for northern lights. We experienced it on 9/27/25 and it was amazing . Mark picked us up at the hotel and also dropped us off. This was one of the primary reason we chose this company and it did not disappoint with the northern lights as well. It was worth what we paid for and we highly recommend Alshemal company . As promised we got our included digital pictures and video, we got bonfires with hot drink, roasted corn , chocolate n marshmallows. Warm suit was included n available . The ride was comfortable in a Mercedes 8 seater sprinter. Just a side note , if you are willing to pay for the other seats I’d recommend paying for the 8 seats to have your own privacy . Don't expect too much was exciting looking for aurora and saw it short time near end of trip will use same company again from pick up to drop off was Over 10 hours

I had the best time with the guide, Zein. The weather wasn't looking good for this tour earlier in the day and I had previously booked with another company that canceled my trip. I then rebooked with ALSHEMAL Norway. They tried contacting me about the weather, but I was confused and thought it was the other company that had canceled and still went to the meeting point. No one showed up so I messaged via Viator as it had not been cancelled via this platform or any messages sent. I began walking back to my hotel when I received both a call and message from the tour company apologizing for the confusion and offering to take me out even though the others are on the tour had been told it was canceled. The weather had changed and there was a chance to catch the lights if we left soon. I was so happy and of course, said I would go. Although the skies were cloudy, you could still see the lights showing off behind them. The pictures taken by Zein were great and one of my bucket list dreams have come true thanks to him and his company. I appreciate that this company went above and beyond as I had limited time in Tromso and will never forget the kindness and attention given. I had great conversations with my guide and having explained that I am a cancer survivor living life to the fullest, he understood more why this experience was even more magical at this time in my life. If I am lucky enough to return to Tromso, I will definitely call this company for my next hunt for the Northern Lights. Thanks again, Zein!

Patience required, need to be prepared for a long night. We had long since given up hope of capturing the northern lights but thankfully our wonderful tour guide was determined.

Jinyar was a wonderful guide. He picked us up from our accommodation and took us to chase the northern lights through Tromsø and then into Finland. His dedication to showing it to us any how was commendable despite the challenges of bad weather. He took some amazing pictures of us from a professional camera and also gave us some great poses for that too. The bonfire was fun too along with a hot drink and local chocolates Would definitely recommend it again

Jinyar was a great host/guide and picked us up from our hotel in the north of the island. The ride was first rate - comfy Sprinter sized van w/ spacious accommodation for four in the back. The Northern Lights were amazing and Jinyar took great photos and helped me get better photos with my camera. Everything was at our pace and we never felt rushed - stopping for a campfire was fun and we loved the hot chocolate; yum! Great value! Would do it again!..

If you want a small & personal tour, this company is a great option. The tours only take a maximum of 5 people, and on ours there was only us 2. Vehicle is comfortable and spacious & our guide picked us up on time, and they were easy to contact via Viatour/whatsapp. In terms of chasing the lights, this is very unpredictable & while the weather conditions weren’t good, our guide still managed to get us in a couple of locations to see some.

This tour was really well planned, the pickup times were sent beforehand, the pictures turned out really good and the thought behind the activities were well planned too! Would highly recommend, it was also a small group so we had a lot of opportunities to take pictures

We had a fantastic adventure. Jinyar was such a good guide . He made the hunt interesting , fun and personal. The minibus is very comfortable and Jinyar took us to some beautiful spots. He’s knowledgable and very focused on making sure everyone is having a great time . When we went the magnetic activity wasn’t actually great but he still managed to find the aurora and we had a memorable experience. The photos he took were fantastic . I would defiantly recommend.

This trip was exceptional. Our guide went above and beyond to personalize our adventure. He even called us to let us know that the lights were visible prior to it's scheduled pick up and offered to begin early. He had thermal insulated suits, hot drinks, snacks, a fire pit, and chairs, everything we needed to be comfortable as we waited for the spectacular show. Our guide was friendly, safe, and knowledgeable. I can't think of anything he could have done to make the evening better. I recommend this tour without hesitation.

Even before out tour started, our guide was communicating with us about pick up and Northern Lights. He called us before pick up to inform us that the lights were visible early and he could begin early. He went above and beyond to make our trip personal and enjoyable. He provided snacks, hot drinks, and a delightful fire. I can't think of anything he could have done to make it a better experience. Having professional photographs of the evening and the Northern Lights is such an advantage. I can't recommend this tour enough.

We booked this at the last minute, with a couple reviews we were suspicious …. But it was only 90mins before trip and we wanted to give ourselves a chance of seeing the northern lights …. And see them we did! With other cars booked, we were lucky that Alshmal accepted our booking for just two …. And took us out on the most special of evenings - we had in essence booked a private tour! We were collected from our hotel and taken out to the quiet darkness beyond Tromoso - trusting Alshmal’s knowledge and experience ….. within half a hour and earlier than planned we saw the first appearance of the Aurora. With a campfire, tea, snacks and corn on the cob over the fire …. We sat watching the magic come and go, and had some amazing pics taken (and shared with us after - far better quality than our own iPhone captured images). When it looked like we were missing the fine elsewhere as the lights had moved, we packed up and went exploring ….. patience and tenacity were rewarded by even stronger and amazing dancing lights. We eventually called it a day and went back to the hotel at 1am …. Although we were encouraged to stay out longer…. Breathtaking, great care knowledge and company from Alshmal …. 10 stars from the two us, and I would thoroughly recommend this experience.

We had the best time on our tour and were lucky enough to see some beautiful Northern Lights. It was great being in a smaller group and our guide took some really great photos of us (much better than we could take ourselves!). I would definitely recommend this tour!

We were even picked up at our house outside Tromso. Our guide Jinyar went to great lengths to show us the Northern Lights and drove with us almost as far as Finland. We saw great lights and there were lots of photos taken which were provided to us for free. We had very nice and interesting conversations with Jinyar. 100% recommended Junior picked us up and dropped us off at the door of our accommodation. Small group with 5 people. It took us to remote places where we would never have gone for us and we were lucky enough that that night the auroras were very active and visible. If I ever come back, I'm sure I'll repeat.
