It was a truly magical experience! Our guide, Matheus, did a fantastic job finding a perfect spot away from the clouds to see the Northern Lights. We were lucky enough to see the aurora shortly after arriving and enjoyed a wonderful evening with warm coffee under the beautiful night sky.

We are fortunate to have chosen them for our Aurora chasing experience on 10th October. The pickup was dot on time. The explanations of the Aurora at their centre by Fransesco were lucid and clear and they were equipped to discover which areas would be the best to spot the NL. Though the previous couple of days were overcast, we were lucky to have the skies clear up on our chosen night which was a new moon night too! We were all equipped with warm thermals and were also provided with steaming hot coffee and muffins, both of which were very welcome while we were out in the chilly weather. Our driver and guide Mathias was exceptional too. He was so very co-operative and enthusiastic. Fortunately, we didn't have to much of chasing that night. In half an hour he found us a spot away from the lights of Tromso and we were enthralled by the Aurora all around and over us and even dancing directly overhead in all their colours! We are informed that this group really goes all out to ensure that their customers experience the Aurora during their trip to the Arctic. Francisco has the technology to determine the most likely places to see the Northern Lights. He’s great and so is Jose, our guide. Because of them, I lived my dream to see the Northern Lights!

The tour delivered exactly what it promised. There were six of us in the minivan, plus our driver and guide, Matheus. Before heading out, our guide Francisco gave us a very clear explanation of what we could expect from the night. He explained the current solar activity, the satellite images used to monitor auroral conditions, and the satellite cloud-cover images they use to identify areas with clearer skies. He also explained how they interpret the different data to assess the chances of seeing the Northern Lights. He showed everything on a television while explaining it, which made the information very easy to follow and gave us a much better understanding of what was happening in the sky. Matheus first took us to a spot where we were able to watch the Northern Lights. After staying there for a while, he suggested moving because there were cars passing by with their headlights on. The second spot he found was perfect: completely dark, with clear skies and no distractions. We were able to watch the aurora for around two and a half hours. Solar activity was also particularly strong that night, so we were lucky enough to see a lot of red in the aurora, which made the experience even more impressive. The whole experience was very comfortable. We wore thermal suits that kept us warm, and we had tea and muffins while watching the lights. Throughout the evening, Matheus also took photos of both the aurora and us. The experience felt very intimate and special, and I even proposed to my girlfriend under the Northern Lights. Afterwards, we asked Matheus if he could help us recreate the moment for some photos, and he was more than happy to do so. He even went into the forest to find a great spot and took a lot of amazing pictures for us. At the end of the night, he played the handpan for a while, which made the perfect ending to an already unforgettable experience. It was a wonderful night, and I would 100% recommend this tour. Francisco And Mat split our group into two vans. Mat took us to four location; each more brilliant than the others! Please use this company to learn how and why this phenomenon results! The naked eye provided great visuals -?iphones and cameras are even better!!!

We booked via Viator, and did they ever direct us to an operation that is beyond professional. We were picked up at our meeting point on time, and escorted to the office for a professional briefing with multiple visuals about what areas might gives the best opportunity to view the Northern Lights. Francisco and Mateaus are both knowledgeable and passionate about their profession. Nine people were on our tour. Instead of cramping us into one van, they took two vehicles to ensure our comfort! Foul weather gear is provided. Matesus took us to four spots, each better than the other. Our pictures with a smart phone were good - Mat had a camera that was excellent. Please use use this company for a Lifetime memory!

Seeing the Northern Lights was at the top of my bucket list. Green Gold of Norway delivered an amazing experience. From the moment we set off, Nico’s passion and expertise were on full display. He did not just drive us to a standard tourist spot; he meticulously tracked satellite weather maps and wind patterns to hunt down the clearest skies. Nico made sure everyone had the best view, patiently helped everyone configure their cameras and smartphones to capture stunning photos and also kept us warm with hot drinks and snacks. Matheus was an excellent guide. He provided clear instructions, & knew exactly where to go to find the lights. We were able to see the lights at several stops during the trip, & the photos he sent after the trip were excellent!

We were confused about the meeting place, but Francisco tracked us down quickly. The pre-trip information was interesting and helpful. Mateusz drove carefully and chose a good direction to avoid clouds and Aurora Borealis came to the party as hoped. Great evening

Francisco and Mateus are super professional team. The excursion was beyond my expectations. Mateus took the group to the most perfect spots to see the northern lights. The interaction with the guides was very pleasant . The atmosphere during the tour was cozy and made the comunication between people , totaly strangers to each other, very easy and flowing.

Mateusz was a wonderful guide, doing all he could to find locations where we could view the Northern Lights. We had a great experience due to his efforts, as the skies were somewhat cloudy, making it a bit of a challenge.

Francisco and Nico were amazing! Francisco started us off giving us a rundown of what the night would look like and also gave us information on the aurora itself, told us it was pretty cloudy but they knew some areas where it was going to be less cloudy so we headed there. Nico was our guide and he did a fantastic job. Very informative and friendly. Stopped at a couple of spots to test the night and how it was looking and made decisions from there. We really felt like they were going to find the aurora for us no matter what. When we finally stopped we set up cameras and the show began. It was nice at first but then at our next stop, it really exploded and gave us a beautiful view. Our main goal was to see the lights on our trip to Norway and with this team it was possible. They made us feel comfortable the whole time and answered any questions we had. To make the experience even better, the next morning all of the pictures we took were in my email inbox. Definitely worth the money for this experience and will definitely book again when we return to Tromso!

Francisco is a very knowledgable and more importantly, honest gentleman! We had originally booked for a different day but he recommended that we push the tour to the next day if possible as the chances of Aurora is significantly higher the next day. And what an advice it turned out to be!! We had phenomenal aurora sighting that left us awestruck for almost an hour! Definitely recommend booking a tour here. And kudos to our guide/driver - Mateus, he was super helpful!

Wonderful experience. Started with briefing about auroras in the situation room where the science and weather are explained. Mateus was a friendly and awesome driver and guide. Very quick to detect aurora sightings and very helpful with taking pictures. His attenpts to help find toilets for the female members in the group are super appreciated even though no toilets were found going north of Tromsø.

Andis was first class, really knowledgable and informative, friendly and helpful! It wasn’t the best evening as clouds were moving in fast but we managed to find some great auroras and took some amazing photographs! Green Gold are real experts at what they do, I strongly recommend them!

The tour was amazing because we were incredibly lucky with a strong forecast. Mat our guide took us straight to a location with stars and they appeared dancing across the sky. Two more locations afterwards were also lucky to see them. They sent through all the photos the very next day from the tour. Highly recommend

They took us where the northern lights are and thats it, the bus stopped on a very slippery point and we couldnt even walk and look at the sky. I fell on the ice and noone was interested.

Our tour(not this one) cancelled in last minute because they expect no northern lights. And i found this in the last minute. They show us very cool scientific data before and they tried, and they worked hard to get us to the lights. And they got it! Very thankful!

Everything went really well! We had the chance to see the Northern Lights with our own eyes, and even more beautifully through the camera for about an hour. The Green Gold team provided very clear briefings and guided us well throughout the experience. The tour did run longer than expected (we were initially told it would finish around 1 AM, but it ended closer to 4 AM), however we understand this was to give us the best possible chance to see the lights—and we really appreciate the effort. Even though the lights weren’t extremely strong to the naked eye, it was still truly magical. We feel very lucky to have witnessed it. Thank you for such a great experience!

It was simply one of the most extraordinary experience of my life..seeing the dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis in the cold Artic winters was something I had planned for ages but experiencing it with a cloud free and relatively good viewing condition on the 20th of Feb 26 near Tromso was another level .The experience was elevated further with Fransico Damm( the business owner of the Green Gold of Norway) as he enthusiastically took us from one isolated place to another to get a very good view of the Aurora's.Some even over the Fjords ,where we could see the reflection of the sky in the water. The enthusiasm with which he lay down in the snow to take photos from different angles just rubbed off on all us. This ,along with his vast knowledge on Aurora made made the Aurora Viewing experience very very special..It was clear he had studied all the predictions (of the Aurora sightings)from different sites scientifically before starting the trip.Would highly recommend Green Gold of Norway for Aurora Viewing Trips.

The northern lights were an incredible experience thanks to Francisco and his team of guides, they really do go above and beyond to ensure that you see and enjoy this phenomenon of nature. An incredible experience! Our guide, Andys, drove us for over 1h 30 minutes to reach a site with open sky in the cloudy night. The lights appeared slowly but then performed 1-2 minutes of an incredible dancing show above our heads. We highly recommend it!

Our guide was very friendly and drove us 2 hours north of Tromso to chase the Northern Lights. We did not see the Aurora that night due to a thick layer of clouds and snow, but the guide provided us with a lovely experience nonetheless. We enjoyed coffee / tea and muffins in the wild and walked on a frozen lake. All in all it was a good experience even though we did not see the Aurora that night.

As a solo female traveler visiting Tromso, I was a little nervous about booking a Northern Lights tour, but this company exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I was picked up, I felt completely safe and well taken care of.. They constantly monitored the weather and drove us to the best possible viewing spot. When the lights finally appeared, it was absolutely magical! I highly recommend this company, especially for solo female travelers looking for a safe, organized, and unforgettable Northern Lights experience.

Organizers who know what they are doing! We drove south two hours south of Tromso in search of clear skies. Found it and was able to enjoy the Northern lights show for two hours. Took a lot of pictures and the guide was very kind and gave us insights into how Northern lights occurs. We were in a small van total 6 people, even though it's a bit expensive than the big bus tour, it was more private and had no disturbance. We were provided with Thermal suits and also some coffee/tea and muffins. Would definitely recommend :)

A must do at least once before you die. Haha Great experience, obviously, you cannot predict nature, we were lucky to see many auroras, not like other people post , amazing , filling the sky of light or lot of dancing. But enough to appreciate just by looking how amazing they are. Our guide was nice , funny and tried to explain the phenomena with scientific details.

It was worth to trust this highly professional aurora hunters. They know all places and what to watch for, I would have never had this great experience if I had tried on my own. I was lucky to catch a very good night. They could have stopped in the first place and call it a day. Instead they showed us three different places and overachieved. Andis is a great photographer and gave me very useful tricks to improve the pictures I was taking with my camera. The pictures he took were provided on the following day. They are great, much better than mine.

It was lovely! We got given warmsuits The tea and muffin were perfect to keep us full and warm while looking up at the sky for 2hours in -20. It was a bit expensive, but i do get it we drove really far for is to have no clouds and see the lights ! So great experience!

This was an amazing experience! We had Nico as our guide, he was fantastic. Couldn't have asked for a better guide - he had a mixed language group but handled it amazingly. He worked really hard to get us to some stunning views, timing it perfectly for a brilliant light show and managed to get us some incredible pictures of the experience! Unforgettable experience. Service was amazing. We booked for Thursday but they offered us to push to Friday at no cost as there was low visibility chance (not all companies do this). Friday was amazing, saw them dancing and took great pictures. Andy our guide was so kind and really knew what he was doing.

True to the title we enjoyed a small group experience with this tour. The vehicle was comfortable and adequately heated. The tour operator and driver were great, we were given a short description of what to expect for the evening and where we might be heading. We saw fantastic northern lights in some very picturesque spots. It was a fun tour.

Myself and my wife came to tromso to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. And, we were extremely disappointed with our 2 attempts to see the northern lights on previous nights. We met Francisco @ Green Gold and he gave us an amazing introduction and understanding of northern lights. He arranged for us an expert guide ( Matthias) from his team who had the knowledge of satellites to find the clear sky and took us all the way towards the border of Finland ( 2 hours plus drive). And, we had an amazing experience of seeing the Northern Lights show for almost 1 hour. I would recommend Francisco and team from the Green Gold of Norway for their trusted advise and local expertise to have a wonderful experience.

We visited Tromso on a cruise and booked this tour on our own. It was a great value compared to the ships similar excursion. The meeting place outside Radisson Blu is convenient to shuttle bus stop. They were very informative in describing how they determine the locations with the best chance of seeing the northern lights. We were lucky. After an hour drive and waiting patiently for 45 minutes, the sky exploded with auroras for over two hours. It was amazing. It was cold, but they provide everybody snow suits if needed that fit over your clothing. Coffee and muffins are provided and we went into the van to warm up as needed. Our guide was very accommodating. He took excellent pictures of each of our groups which were emailed the next day. He stayed as long as we requested and even stopped to view another aurora we spotted on the drive home. I highly recommend Green Gold and would use them in the future.

Review of Recent Tour Experience We opted for a private minivan at nearly double the price compared to the normal bus, expecting better comfort and service. Unfortunately, it was not worth paying twice the cost. The vehicle provided was small minivan, and the heating system was not working properly, making the journey uncomfortable in cold weather. Because of this, we had to return early; otherwise, we would have liked to spend more time trying to view the Northern Lights. The provided dress was torn and the shoes were not clean, which was disappointing and affected the overall experience. On a positive note, the tour guide was polite, the tour house was good, and the photographer did a good job taking pictures. Although the sky was clear, the Northern Lights viewing was not satisfactory. I understand that this is a natural phenomenon and not fully beyond the control of the tour operators, but overall expectations were not met considering the premium price paid. The experience does not justify the higher cost of a private minivan. I hope the company will focus on improving vehicle quality, heating facilities, and equipment maintenance to enhance future customer experiences.

Book this now and with confidence. This team treated us to a spectacular evening of Northern Lights viewing and expert guidance. The 8-person experience was the perfect size for us. We got off at several stops and chased the lights to some jaw-dropping spots. Truly a great experience.

We did not see the aurora, That part was acceptable to me. However, my main issue is with the photos taken in the snow. I requested these photos many times via email. Later, I personally met the manager in downtown and requested the photos again. I was told that the photos had already been sent. Despite repeatedly explaining that I never received any photos, I received no clear answer, no follow-up, and no effort to resolve the issue. Taking photos was a key part of the experience I paid for. Failing to deliver them, combined with poor communication and lack of responsibility, is very disappointing and unprofessional. This experience significantly affected my overall impression, and for that reason, my rating reflects this failure.

We were really looking forward to this excursion. Unfortunately, the weather was very unfavorable, so we had to drive all the way to the Finnish border. The drive was extremely fast, and the driver repeatedly told us how exhausting it was for him that we had to spend a total of seven hours driving in this weather. In addition, he performed several extremely dangerous overtaking maneuvers, which felt life-threatening and made us feel very unsafe. Eventually, thanks to a phone call the driver made to his girlfriend, we found a spot where we were able to see a few northern lights. According to the tour description, photos were supposed to be taken and shared with the participants afterward. Unfortunately, the driver only took photos of two families. Not a single photo was taken of us, and we were not even asked whether we would like photos. We later received six photos, all of which only showed the other families, making them completely useless for us. We had assumed that photos would be taken of all participants and that the driver would also take professional photos of the Aurora Borealis with his camera. After a very short time, we left again and headed back very quickly. Overall, the experience was very disappointing and far too expensive for what was offered. Once and never again. The driver also expected tips from everyone at the end, but no one gave him any. I can only advise against this company.
