The performance ended, rather than beginning, around midnight. The program was maybe an hour, not too short and not too long. The audience was pretty sparse, maybe 20 of us in attendance. A bit weird that they ended with "Amazing Grace," when almost all of the rest of the program was traditional Norwegian music. I had a wonderful time at this! Beautiful music in a beautiful setting! Very interesting (and lovely) arrangements of the music too. I wasn't sure how I felt when I saw sax listed in the trio on the program, but it sounded amazing!

This was such a unique and beautiful experience - highly recommended ❤️🇳🇴
We joined the Havila excursion for this concert and thoroughly enjoyed the event. Beautiful haunting atmospheric music created by three talented artists. A mix of largely Norwegian classical, folk and hymn melodies held us spellbound for 45 minutes. Highly recommended.
The church is simply beautiful with high ceilings and timber details. The musicians were very talented, using a variety of instruments, performing a variety of pieces from a variety of genres. We enjoyed this experience very much
the musicians and soloist were excellent the music was very subdued we were just arriving that day to tromso and it was a good reason to brave the cold and rainy weather
Norwegian folk songs with pianist and flutist Norwegian folk songs with pianist and flutist Church v warm
Most relaxing experience, amazing musicians and vocalist, most enjoyable, such a shame it didn't last longer
It was a spontaneous decision and I’m so glad we took it. The music was so atmospheric and beautiful in such a lovely location and I’m glad it was traditions Norwegian hymns & lullabies - stunning - and unusual!
This was an amazing experience in a beautiful setting. For the concert we attended it featured a lot of Norwegian folk music which was beautifully haunting. One of the best things we did in Tromso and worth staying up a bit later.
We came for the Midnight Concert in Tromsø Cathedral. It started at 23:00 and lasted half and hour. It was very nice and enjoyable and cool to listen to some local songs. However, it felt a bit expensive for only half an hour. We booked the tickets the same day and it was not full, so probably buying last moment is fine. For sure a good opportunity to see the inside of the cathedral. It is quite nice.
The whole concert lasted around 40-50 minutes. It didn't matter where you were sat - you were able to hear the beautiful music all around. The singing was lovely, and the instruments also had their time to shine. I especially enjoyed the folk songs.
We attended the midnight concert at Tromsø's Yellow Church on the evening of February 3rd. It lasted "only" half an hour, and that was just enough for a special experience. It was wonderful that a piece we're familiar with, Amazing Grace, was sung at the end. Definitely recommended for a moment of relaxation.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for an amazing night. The only downside is that it goes super quick!
Concert was so emotionally moving it will stay in our memory forever. We felt we started to get to know Norwegian culture. We’re so glad we went on a stunning snowy night as it added to the magical experience.
Lovely performances in a cosy cathedral (the heated pews were most welcome in the freezing weather!) The soprano was incredible. The performance was quite short but sweet, we finished at about 11.40pm. It was wonderful to hear the traditional folk music especially. There were signs to say no filming during the performance but this didn't stop people from having their phones up in the air recording, which was annoying when you're trying to watch the musicians.
First time the event coordinator was unaware of our tickets and denied us entry. Zero signs telling you that the concert was happening and which door to use. They placed a sign directly in front of the door as if they were closed. It was a tad stoic at times, as if you shouldn't be there
Beautiful music in such a lovely location. Would have loved it to have gone for a little longer than the 30mins but thoroughly enjoyed every second.
Arrived before 23.00 only to find the doors locked. Doesn’t seem like there’s a concert going on tonight, bought a ticket for nothing
Concert was fab. I was slightly disappointed that there were a few songs sang or played from other countries but english wasn't on the program. That being said i still throughly enjoyed.
Was amazing! It was a good time in family. The place is beautiful, the concert was a quiet time to think about the magnificence of God.
Beautiful experience in the yellow wooden Tromsø Cathedral. Talented musicians and singer, very moving. Short but sweet.
It was beautiful...all of it.The church, the acoustics, the musicians. Sung in Norwegian. Highly recommend.
Lovely evening in the cathedral in Tromso, all performances were really atmospheric and a good way to enjoy some traditional Norwegian music.
Different from all the other outdoor activities we did in Tromso. This was quiet, classy, full of dignity and talent. The 3 performers were excellent: pianist, singer and saxophonist. We were given a page with the songs they would perform and could easily follow along. The atmosphere was peaceful, it was warm within the cathedral and the lighting made it cozy. If you're not chasing the lights at this time of day (or night), give this a go.
Wow, what a stunning concert. Magical experience in a beautiful setting. Very talented musicians. Thank you!
It will give you goosebumps Highly recommend you do this it’s only for 30 mins but is so lovely and moving we would 100% do this again
Beautiful church setting and wonderful performers. I thoroughly enjoyed this very much! Loved the different pieces of much and the singer had a captivating voice!
Very Nice experience. The concert start on time. The chathedrale is very beautifull , clean and well conserved. The réceptionnis is very kind. The singers and player will wait for you at the main doors to talk to you. The only thing is that you can’t take picture during the concert like the most of the places . I love it!!!
This was a great ending to our week in Tromso. The young woman singing had a beautiful voice. The organist/pianist and oboe/saxophone players were excellent and really filled the Cathedral with harmony.
I went to see the interior of the building plus the quality of the performance. A totally wonderful half hour and neither disappointed 👌
One of the most enchanting and mesmerising performance I’ve ever experienced. The acoustics of the church was brought to life when the performer played the magnificent pipe organ. Absolutely recommended!
Beautiful music in a beautiful church. Lovely concert with talented musicians. Peaceful. Would recommend.
Three very talented people! A perfect ending to the day. Very calming. The cathedral is beautiful and comfortable. This is worthwhile.
We found about this from the free walking tour and booked it after our northern lights tour was sadly cancelled. Really great experience and something unique (also a great way to see the church without paying for general admission). It's on everyday - entry 10:30-10:45pm, to start promptly at 11pm and lasted about 40 minutes. There was 3 performers, one on piano, one soprano singer and another on the saxophone/ clarinet. They sang local folk songs/ hymns and finished with amazing grace which was beautiful. Highly recommend it.
Midnight concert but you have to be there at 10:45. Ensures good seating. Decided to do this concert on my first night in Tromso and it was everything I imagined and more. The singer had a beautiful, soprano voice, and the sax player and pianist, who accompanied her were amazing, as well. The concert was very relaxing and actually got me a bit emotional. The acoustics in the cathedral were amazing. The entire concert lasted about 30 minutes. I highly recommend this concert to anyone who loves music.
Booked through Book My Guide. One of the best things we did.. as well as whale watching and snow mobiling! The sopranos voice was mesmerising. Traditional Norwegian songs and a mix of carols. Perfect!
Incredible experience. So so talented! Such a beautiful setting and fantastic acoustics, very atmospheric and moving. We had a mixture of Christmas Carols, mostly scandi which were beautiful bur also some English/French/German. I’d highly recommend, great price too!
This was one of my favourite things I did in tromso, very moving concert, acoustics in the cathedral were great, the musicians and singer were fantastic, definately recommend to do if you are in town
The concert was really beautiful, and the artists were fantastic! The church is so nice; making the moment magic.
Really lovely sample of Nordic music. The musicians were excellent and the woman’s voice was so clear and beautiful. A magical experience.
I really enjoyed this concert. It was an interesting mix of organ/piano, tenor saxophone and soprano and a lovely selection of music - familiar and not so familiar. It was my first night in Tromsø and a lovely way to start my trip.
Very nice concert and great to experience it in an historic monument. I liked the fact that the singers and musicians stated to perform in different area of the cathedral, to have this sound effect. The concert was quite short though. and we had no introduction on the music played (background on the pieces of artist).
Our Lady church is the city's Catholic cathedral, it is also the smallest.. Dating from 1861, this wooden church is the seat of the northernmost Catholic bishopric in the world .
It was only a short walking distance from our Clarion Edge hotel on the wharf area. The church was a central focal point in the downtown Tromso city. Beautiful archaic building design with wonderful surrounding grounds.
Get involved in the great performance. Allow enough time, even the encore may receive attention.
You should experience. It's a great atmosphere. A beautiful church that has no equal in style.
We loved it. Beautiful. Not too long, just the right thing. When you get out of there you stay in this magic for a little while ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The concert in the beautiful yellow cathedral in Tromsø lasted less than an hour and was wonderful! A singer, a lady at the piano and a saxophone player have taken us with great emotion into your Nordic history. Goose bumps and tears in the eyes included! I can heartily recommend this concert.
I thought it was incredibly beautiful. It was only a little brief: it lasts half an hour. The musicians and the singer are great!
Completely different than expected. I was thinking of playing the organ. It was much better. Piano, saxophones and hammer baritone. The encore was for me the perfect Hammer old long syne....
