Guided Polar Bear Walk Incl. Polaria & Polar Museum

This is a must do trip in Tromso if you are wanting to learn more about the history of tromso and the polar bears. Our guide, Oda, was AMAZING. The tour ended up just being myself, my partner and Oda leading us and it really was fantastic! Oda answered all our questions in depth, and clearly has a passion and love for Tromso. The whole day was brilliant. We learnt a lot, got to see a lot and had lots of laughs too. If you’re looking for something to do in Tromso that is engaging, informative and fun this is it. Thank you so much to Oda again, she really is a brilliant guide and really made the experience!

Oda was an excellent guide! We learned a lot about Tromsøs history and the polar bears. She also gave us some very good recommendations of places to visit in the city and even surprised us with some chocolate. The museums included in the tour are great, especially with such a nice guide!

We loved the Pola Bear Walk Tour. We learned so much about these beautiful animals & so nice to see the various bears around town!.  The information provided about the history of Tromsø, nature, & the animals environment, was invaluable to our understanding of this beautiful part of the world . Our guide Oda's storytelling was so interesting , we were fascinated by all we learnt on the tour. The Polar Museum & Polarium were a great bonus as part of this activity.  I would highly recommend this tour to other travellers . The tour exceeded our expectations . Being in such a stunning place while also understanding the challenges facing its wildlife and environment made the experience even more powerful, and Gavin’s passion really brought that message home. Oda was an incredible tour guide and truly one of the highlights of our trip. From the very beginning, she created such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that we immediately felt comfortable. She shared so many fascinating stories and personal anecdotes, the kind of information you wouldn’t easily find online or in guidebooks. It felt less like a typical tour and more like exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend. The way she connected polar bears to the history and present-day life in Tromsø was especially impressive. She didn’t just present facts, she explained how everything ties together culturally and historically, which made the experience much more meaningful and memorable. Her passion for the region really shone through, and it was clear how much she loves what she does. She was also incredibly engaging and attentive, making sure everyone in the group felt included and had the chance to ask questions. On top of that, we discovered an amazing coincidence we had in common, which completely blew our minds and made the experience even more special and personal. Oda made us feel at home, even though it was our very first day in Tromsø. Starting our trip with her tour set the perfect tone for the rest of our stay. We left feeling inspired, informed, and even more excited to explore. She truly made our day, and we would recommend her tour to anyone visiting Tromsø without hesitation.

Gavin was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Made the whole tour very interesting and gave us a great insight into the role of polar bears and impact of environmental change and humans on the bears and other mammals and fish in the arctic area around Norway including Svalbard. It was amazing experience and Gavin made this tour super special. He added lots of Tromso stories and recommendations from his own experience which made it authentic and reliable. The tour was very well planned, we felt cared for and appreciated as tourists. Even the bio breaks were planned. We could ask questions and got super insightful answers. Highly recommended when you are in Tromso! You will know a lot not only about the bears but also about people, their culture, streets and etc.!

Oda was fantastic and so helpful. We saw some of Tromso that we would never have found ourselves. Having a Polar Bear theme was a lot of fun. We learnt so much about navigating the arctic both historically and practically as it was terrible weather for walking. We survived and have new spike wearing skills!!

The Guided Polar Bear Walk in Tromsø, and it was a highlight of the trip! The tour took us to the Polar Museum, where we learned about arctic history, and then headed to Polaria, which was an awesome experience to learn more about the animals in the arctic circle. Our guide was super knowledgeable, passionate, and kind. The scenery was stunning and we were able to take some great pictures. Would totally recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tromsø!

Gavin was an amazing guide, and a font of knowledge. We learned so much about Tromso, polar bears, hunters and the arctic in general. The time at the Polar Museum was just enough. We choose to spend more time at Polaria after Gavin left us. By then, we had a good sense of the city, did some shopping, and made our way back to our shuttle. We highly recommend this tour, if you like fun and education wrapped up in one tour. Thank you again, Gavin. You made our visit to Tromso memorable!

Very interesting walking tour around Tromso with a Polar bear theme. Gavin was super knowledgeable about polar bears and the challenges they now face. The polar museum and Polaria were well worth the visit. All in all a very enjoyable few hours

We booked a last minute Polar bear discovery tour and was a brilliant choice. Gavin was superb! He had indepth knowledge of Tromso and was a delight to be with. Uf you have interest in learning more about this place we throughly recommend this tour. Thank you Gavin!

Gavin was an outstanding tour guide. He actually translated the information boards at Polaria museum into English, which I imagine is party why he has so much knowledge of the exhibits. Our group got to see a polar bear (not living, fortunately, as we did not have the proper protective equipment) and Gavin was happy to take photos. The highlight for me was the seals which I got to spend a lot of time looking at. Highly recommended!
