The experience exceeded all our expectations! Dominik, our tour guide, met us at our meeting point right on time and even offered extra suits and boots in case we got cold. From the very beginning, he did everything he could to make sure we had the best possible experience, showing us the most beautiful spots, breathtaking landscapes, and reindeer along the way. He also took amazing pictures of us, and by the end of the tour, it genuinely felt like he had become one of us! We even shared a meal together, which was such a unique experience. The food was delicious, and having lunch surrounded by nature, in the middle of nowhere, made it even more special. Despite the weather not being on our side and the heavy rain throughout the day, Dom went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable time. I honestly couldn't recommend Dom and this tour more highly. If you're looking for a truly special and memorable experience, this is it!

Nelson was a fantastic guide who taught us so much about Tromso from its history to the breath-taking landscapes. He took the most beautiful photos of everyone in the tour group and was a wonderful communicator who spoke with such enthusiasm and fervent that made time past so quickly. Real Turmat packaged food (all flavours were delicious) was provided as lunch at the last stop of the tour and honestly it was the perfect way to end the day. I decided to go with this tour after reading many positive reviews on GetYourGuide and i'm extremely happy it is exactly what others say!

Just be aware that this is not a boat tour, but a driving tour. That being said, Magdalena is fantastic guide and the trip was still incredible with unbeatable views of the fjords.

An absolute MUST, me and my partner chose this tour over renting a car for a day and it was the best decision. Our guide Magdelena was really lovely, knowledgeable and a whiz taking photos on a dslr we were able to download for free the next day. Lunch, hot chocolate and snow appropriate clothes also all provided as part of the cost which was awesome. Went to several breathtaking spots we'd never know to look for with just a car. 10/10 experience!

I really enjoyed the lunch and hot drink break—it was perfect for the cold weather. Our guide was incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. he shared interesting insights along the way, making the experience even better. Highly recommend this tour!

As there were a lot of bookings we were 2 mini-busses with one guide who changed the bus after each stop. It worked, though, and Magdalena gave us a lot of good information and made very nice pictures we could download later. Unfortunately we didn't see any wildlife apart of 2 birds of prey around a mountain top during lunch break. The lunch break was interesting as we got some expedition food and cookies. The views were beautiful and the bus stopped as well extra once when one of the guests saw another beautiful views.

This was an absolutely fantastic tour with beautiful views. I could sit and stare at the mountains for hours. Although I didnt hold out much hope for great sights because the skies were grey and it was raining when we left. But even in the rain the fjords look stunning. And our guide Nelson had checked out the forecast and worked out where the sun would be. I couldnt have asked for a more considerate and interesting tour guide in Nelson. I thoroughly recommend Arctic Explorers.

Tha fjords tour was the highlight of our trip to the Arctic, we arrived by cruise ship and the booking process and our questions about the time for return to the ship was dealt with promptly, the communication process was brilliant. The trip itself was exceptional, beautiful scenery, a bit of adventure, fantastic lunch, brilliant driver and absolutely incredible guide, Nelson.... What a day we had with a lovely bunch of passengers. I would recommend this trip and arctic adventure in a heartbeat and will certainly be booking another trip with them next time we visit Tromso in June 2027.

The Fjord tour with Nelson was really lovely; he knew the nicest spots and had a lot of knowledge about so many things. The tour was organized very well; Arctic Explorers was very communicative. We had a fantastic experience on the Fjord Expedition with Arctic Explorers. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, selecting the most significant fjords, those that best represent the history, geology, and origin of these incredible landscapes, in addition to the unique charm and magic of the winter fjord scenery. Every stop felt meaningful as well as breathtaking. A special thank you to our guide, Magdalena, incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and always willing to go the extra mile. She handled even the most complex questions with competence and enthusiasm. At one point, I showed her a stone and asked about its nature; without hesitation, she sent a photo to a geologist friend just to satisfy my curiosity. That level of dedication truly impressed us! She also took stunning photos for us and instantly became friends with my 8-year-old son, making the experience even more special and memorable for our whole family. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a well-organized adventure enriched by a passionate and professional guide.

We had so much fun! Believe the hype, Nelson is the best. He'll tell you that the weather changes every 5 minutes but I think Nelson controls the weather with his passion & positivity. Shout out to our driver Eric! Drives like an angel...sings like one, too!! Be sure to ask Nelson for his former housemate's cinnamon rolls recipe. It's the best, just like Nelson & Eric!!

FANTASTIC tour - from beginning to an end. Logistically, everything was on time and very easy to navigate. We were also provided with clothes and shoes to ensure that we were warm. Magdalena was a phenomenal guide: friendly, knowledgeable, genuine, and really excited about everything we saw. It was clear that she truly enjoys what she does and has an appreciation for nature. She was also very personable and caring. We saw breathtaking views of the fjords and had plenty of time to explore each location. Lunch was warm and filling… in the hot chocolate plus cookies at the end were a nice treat. A few hours after the tour ended, Magdalena posted some of the pictures she took using her professional camera! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour.

Nelson was amazing. Very sweet guy. He knows a lot of the fjords. It was a good vibe. Despite the clouds, it was magical. I think I liked it more with the clouds.

Booked last minute and thought it was going to be a boat tour - it wasn’t but that didn’t diminish from it being a fantastic day! Our guide, Nelson, was just perfect - warm, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. His command of English and passion about the environment are to be applauded. We appreciated his book recommendations, too! We stopped off at lots of places to take in beautiful views of the sun and water. And to play in the snow! Enjoying lunch fjord-side around a camp fire was the icing on the cake. The return journey, being rocked by the minivan and great music choices, were the perfect end to a perfect tour.

Had an amazing experience with Nelson as our tour guide. He was super enthusiastic, friendly and new everything. He took us to amazing places with great views, took professional pictures of us as well as an authentic camping-style lunch and hot chocolate. This was definitely one of the best experiences of my holiday.

I rarely leave reviews, but I would really love to recommend this tour and Nelson as your guide. The passion of the guide, the lovely landscapes, and cozy activities made this an extremely valuable experience. 5 hours is unfortunately not enough for a nature fan like me, but for its price, is absolutely worth it nonetheless. It is great for whose who prefer to see the nature's beauty in small groups as well. Hopefully, I will come back here once again and go to ski with Nelson ;)

The Fjord Arctic Adventure Expedition was absolutely breathtaking and deeply enjoyable. Exploring the fjords and stopping at incredible panoramic viewpoints felt like stepping into a postcard—every view was more stunning than the last. One of the highlights was having lunch near the beach: a really good meal in a beautiful, relaxed setting that made the experience even more special. Our guide Nelson was truly exceptional. Knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, he took us to places I had never seen before—hidden gems where there were no other tourist groups around. Being able to admire the raw nature in complete tranquility made the tour feel authentic and unique. Nelson also shared lots of interesting and useful information along the way, which helped us better understand the landscapes and the area we were visiting. Everything was perfectly paced and well organized, and the entire experience felt immersive, peaceful, and inspiring. I loved every moment of this tour and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the fjords in a more genuine and unforgettable way. Highly recommended!

The fjord tour was a fantastic day out. Magdalena took us to some stunning locations to admire the scenery and gorgeous polar night twilight colours. Magdalena was so friendly and very enthusiastic to showcase Norway’s beauty. She told us so much about the area and her infectious personality made it great fun. Her photos were good. The lunch was filling and the hot chocolate very welcomed. The arctic suit was needed! The tour group size was nice and not too big, minibus comfortable and driver very smooth. Nelson is by far the best tour guide I have ever met! He is so passionate about this and honestly his enthusiasm and positive energy made the day as amazing as it was. He was so knowledgeable and also took many photos for us. The sights that Nelson and our driver Bella took us to were beyond beautiful. Lunch was delicious followed by hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows around the fire. I loved that it was a small group and also that they offer suits and boots for you if needed. We had an incredible fjord tour experience, made truly special by our fantastic guides, Storm and Nelson. Their energy was infectious from start to finish, and they created such a fun, relaxed atmosphere throughout the trip. Our kids had an absolute blast with both of them — they were engaging, patient, and made the experience exciting and memorable for the whole family. At the same time, they were incredibly attentive and thoughtful with my mum, taking extra care to support her in the thick snow where she might otherwise have struggled. That level of care really meant a lot to us. The photo opportunities were absolutely amazing — they knew exactly where to stop for the best views, and we came away with some of our favorite photos from the entire trip. Every stop felt thoughtfully planned and unhurried, allowing us to really soak in the beauty of the fjords. The bonfire was a real highlight — warm, cozy, and such a memorable way to experience the landscape while enjoying great company and stories. It wasn’t just a tour; it felt like a shared adventure. Highly recommend this fjord tour, especially if you’re lucky enough to get Storm and Nelson as your guides. Truly a standout experience!

The fjord expedition was great with friendly guide Kristen. She brought us to scenic spots of fjords and we took lots of nice pics. Even though polar nights gave us limited brightness, the views of the fjords are unforgettable and truly have their own beauty during winter time. Thanks a lot for the great trip, and your heart warming self-prepared lunch and hot drinks !

Great guides for the 2/3 tours selected. Nelson and Greta were knowledgeable, professional, thoughtful, experienced, and welcoming. Would have rated this visit with Artic a ‘5’ were it not for their Management who were inconsiderate, callous, and plain excessively greedy. I informed Mgmt 2 hours after the official ‘cancellation’ period I needed to cancel my 3rd Tour. Why? Because I had a headache resulting from falling backwards, hitting my head on the ice, the previous day. This, while assisting the Artic Guide Group hauling THEIR Reindeer pelts up/down an icy drop to THEIR planned luncheon around a fireside. But no, Management said rules are rules. What a bunch of crap. Guarantee, there will NEVER be a next time with Artic Explorers.

It was a very pleasant trip for fjord tour, we managed to see the reindeer and white tail eagle. For the price and experience I would recommend people that visit Tromso to do the fjord tour.

The fjord tour around Kvaløya was incredible! We didn’t have the best day to start with as the visibility was incredibly poor in and around Tromsø, however, our guide Nelson mentioned there was a saying to wait 10 minutes if the visibility was poor and this couldn’t have been more true! Such majestical landscapes with a really friendly and informative guide Nelson, I would highly recommend this trip to anyone heading to Tromsø!

It was a small group tour, however I ended up being the only one. I'm so glad that I was still able to do the tour. It was a shame that it was so cloudy, but the scenery was still wonderful. It was so peaceful. Nelson was my guide and I can't remember the bus driver's name, but they were both excellent. It could have been a hard day with only me but I had a great time. Thank you so much for showing me more of Tromso.

Our guide took us to several fjords and took some great photos which were posted for us to share. The weather for the Northern Lights was not especially cooperative, but he did his best to give us a glimpse of the lights as we returned towards the city. Thank you!

An absolutely fantastic day out. Our guides truly spoilt us with all the stops we made. We were not rushed and good information given throughout the day. The trip was advertised as 5 hours but ended up being 8, we didn’t mind that as we were really enjoying ourselves. I highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to explore further than the city itself, it was the highlight of our stay in Tromso! Photos are a bonus extra and captured the day really nicely!

We had an incredible day exploring the fjords around Tromsø with two fantastic guides. We were the only two guests on the excursion, and they completely tailored the day to our interests—including taking us on a beautiful hike after learning we enjoy hiking. The guides were knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely fun to spend the day with. They shared fascinating insights about the local area and culture, making the experience feel both personal and enriching. They even acted as our photographers throughout the trip and later shared the photos with us via their website—a great bonus! Lunch was included and served in a stunning location with breathtaking views. To top it all off, we had the option to take an unplanned (and chilly!) polar plunge—definitely a highlight we’ll never forget. If you're looking for a unique and personalized way to explore the natural beauty around Tromsø, this excursion is a must. Highly recommend!

Did fjord expedition tour with Arctic explorers in tromso on 24th March 2025. The tour itself was great and we had a lovely time. The tour included free photos captured by the guide on the tour and the guide took a lot of photos as well. The images are supposed to be available on their website within 24hrs of tour completion but we didn't get it for atleast 5 days. When the photos were uploaded, we only got 6-7 photos out of total 25+ which the guide clicked for us. Contacting the company via their website resulted in no response.

Extremely scenic winter wonderland, and a definite trip highlight in spite of the bad weather and poor visibility. I booked this tour on a whim but it has definitely been a star of this trip. A huge shout-out to the personable guide for this trip- Pepe was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the region, and he really diligently did his best to give everyone a great experience, through the almost continual snow and fog. The thermal suits and winter boots are included in this tour, and they are comfortable and of excellent quality and really helped to cut out the effects of the weather. Would definitely recommend this company and this tour not only for those who are looking for some views and filler before their northern lights tours, but also as a standalone highlight worth making the trip down to Tromsø for.

We had a wonderful day being guided by Pepe. He was so warm and funny and made our day very memorable and fun. The weather wasn't looking great for views as it was snowing a lot. Pepe guided us to areas with blue sky and sunshine. He is a credit to the company. We received warm suits and had hot chocolate and baguettes on a snowy beach. Arctic Explorers are a great company to use. There are so many and it can be confusing but we made a good choice thankfully.

Arctic explorers is a great company with great guides Our guide Dominic and driver Lars really made the tour fun and enjoyable. They made the group build a really big and cute snowman! Our guide Dominic is truly dedicated and committed in his job, he is so passionate. He made sure we got to see really beautiful sceneries by switching the sequence of the stops around so that snowstorm will have passed away by the time we arrived at the relevant stops. He took really nice photos for everybody in the group too. We had a whole lot of fun and a truly memorable trip because of Dominic. We also felt really safe with Lars driving so safely. Dominic and the other members of the tour were also very helpful in aiding my elderly mum to navigate the snowy landscape. Thank you Arctic Explorers, Dominic and Lars!

Our tour guide Dominic had a genuine love of what he does. He is a keen hiker and was very knowledgeable and gave us so much information of the surroundings. He took us to some lovely spots and took great photos which we were able to download the next day. We had a hot lunch on a beautiful beach and lovely hot chocolate. We were lucky enough to spot reindeer on the way home so we stopped and were able to see them up close. Highly recommend day out.
