Fishing Trip With Luxury Catamaran In Tromso

If you are interested in fishing try another trip. Mostly riding with a little fishing. The captain tried to find a place to fish but the wind did not cooperate.

My wife and I went on a fishing trip on the Arctic Charm. The marketing materials said we would "meet our crew". It was a crew of one whose name was Per. He drove the boat, helped with the fishing gear, cooked the fish (while the boat was on auto), and regaled us with stories (while the boat was on auto). The boat is a catamaran and certainly needs at least two crew. We were told we could get out of the cold and inside to warm up. Practically no heat with a small fuel heater that had little to no impact. There is no warming up in a canvas tent covering a section of the catamaran. In the front of the boat a cabin area had a heater that was not working. All six of us asked to return early. We were also left by ourselves on the boat at the dock once returning and told to wait. After a few minutes we just got off on our own.

Our captain was extremely friendly and hospitable. He showed us the correct fishing techniques and put us on to some awesome spots where we caught a lot of beautiful cod! The fish stew for lunch was delicious. Highly recommend this tour.

My family ( 11 people, ages 9-76) had an amazing day on the Arctic Princess. It was cloudy and chilly, but the enthusiasm and kindness of the skipper was contagious. We quickly made ourselves at home and enjoyed our journey into the sea. When we came to a fishing spot, the kids were ecstatic! The skipper quickly got us situated and ready to fish. We caught quite a few fish, two that were over 20 lbs! The skipper made FANTASTIC fresh fish soup with the cod that my daughter caught. We had soup elsewhere in Norway, it did not compare…..this soup is special! This was a day we will never forget!

While in Tromso to see the Northern Lights my daughter suggested we go fishing. I thought it would be too cold but once I saw the stay warm suits I was all in. We both caught fish (cod) and then the captain made us a wonderful fish stew/soup with it. I would go again and again if I had the opportunity.

Originally our fishing tour was with Polar Explorations (but they decided they wouldn’t do the tour as we were the only two passengers!) They then referred us to this company instead; we had to pay extra as ostensibly this tour was to be on a Luxury Catamaran - yet, we ended up on a regular power boat - apparently the catamaran was being refurbished (?) It didn’t look like an unexpected repair at the last moment. Would’ve been nice if they had told us of that beforehand. Moreover, we should not have been asked to pay the extra charge when the tour was on a regular powerboat - as we’d only received a confirmation late the day before that the tour was on, it would have been the proper thing to do. One doesn’t mind paying the expected rate but equally, one would expect that whatever is promised gets delivered. Anyway it was fun with Per-Ståle captaining the boat. He was friendly, helpful, and informative.

Kurt is awesome and completely committed to providing a memorable experience. His attention to detail and enthusiasm is evident right from the word go. A thorough professional and well informed guide. The Arctic Princess is extremely nice and Kurt is even nicer. :)

I am a complete novice at fishing and went on this trip with my fishing mad partner. What a great time! The catamaran was beautiful, Per the skipper was very knowledgable and gave great tips on catching fish and the boat was a good stable platform to fish from if you don’t have “sealegs”! Thermal suits were available too which was well needed as it was pretty chilly, but snug and warm you could really enjoy the experience. I caught my first (and second... and third... and fourth!!) fish - all good size cod -wow! Per took some of the catch to make into a delicious soup which we had on the way back to the berth and we released the rest as we caught them. Per had lots of good stories and I would definitely go fishing with him again. I’d love to try some of the other trips, like the northern lights trip. Highly recommend this though! Thanks Per!

Nice family trip. Nice boat and skipper. Our kids wanted to cash some big fish and we got plenty :) Fun to be served an excellent fish soup, cooked on our own fish. Recomended!

A beautiful experience with a smart skipper. We have spent four hours on the catamarano looking at beautiful landscapes , we have fished and, thanks to our skipper Pit, have eaten what we have fished. Inforgettable.

We had a 3 hour cruise on a catamaran which included a short fishing trip that yielded a large plate-sized cod each cast. The skipper then cooked up a tasty fresh fish soup for us to eat on the journey home. Excellent value for money and a great way to see the landscape.

Fun day with the captain. As someone who doesn't know how to swim, I felt very safe on the boat. Also I have not fished in this manner before but easily caught fish immediately. Really enjoyed my day. Recommend for all visit types.

It was quite a nice day. Pretty sights. We have never fished before but Jerome helped us out and we caught 2 fish! (Jerome did most of the work but he did let me reel it in :) ) We then had a nice fish soup. Quite a nice morning

It was a great experience for my family, both adults and seven years old kid like it very much! We chat when we wait for fish. We caught a cod and we share the happiness with each other. Thermal suits provided by captain keep us warm on the deck.

Captain Kurt was in charge of saving our fishing day as our original tour fishing with another company was cancelled due to mechanical boat issues and they were super enough to reschedule us with Capt. Kurt. There were 4 of us on the tour and we all had a chance to learn from Kurt how to fish (it was all our first time!!) and we caught several cod fish and a pollack fish (sp?). The cod was cut up right there and put in a tasty soup made by the Captain. I do wish we had more time to fish even though it was sprinkling and cold, it just seems an extra 30 minutes would do the trick. :) Kurt had thermal suits available for us, which we all ended up using, plus snacks to munch on before soup was served. He took lovely photos of our experience which I received by email. So thankful that we were still able to have this fantastic fishing experience and that we actually caught a nice amount of fish! The Arctic Princess is a smooth moving boat. I had no issue with motion. YAY! Thank you.

My boyfriend and I booked this excursion last-minute while looking for something to do in Tromso. We're so happy we did - it was an awesome fishing trip and a really cool way to explore the Arctic from a different view. Kurt was a great skipper and host and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. He provided snacks, coffee and tea as well as the necessary gear (although bring your own hats, gloves, etc.!) He let me drive the boat which was fun and overall the trip was really beautiful. I sort of wish we were able to fish a bit longer but we were running out of time and some people in our group wanted to sight-see. This wasn't a huge deal since we had already caught a lot of fish. The best part was that Kurt then filleted and cooked some of the freshly-caught fish and made fish soup for us to enjoy while heading back! Doesn't get much fresher than that :) Overall, we highly recommend one of the excursions with Kurt. It's so fun and unique and a great tour overall.

Host Thomas was friendly and helpful. Scenery was spectacular. Thomas made delicious fish soup with the fish we caught. Unforgettable day.

Yesterday we spent the most wonderful three hours with Karl on his catamaran introducing our two two year old girls to Norwegian fishing. Karl was extremely responsive and we put the trip together within hours of first contacting him. The boat is a good fit for young children and they absolutely loved the fishing experience with us before falling asleep in his comfortable breakfast nook. We caught a lot of fish and Karl cooked it up for us as we sailed back to the dock. We couldn't have dreamed of a better day out in the fjord!

You will experience the Tromso beauty in a nice, clean and new yacht... Kind and entertaining skipper. Try it!

We had a super experience with a lovely group of people, fishing from Captain Kurts beautiful Catamaran in the fjord of Tromsø. We had plenty of fish, and our captain showed his skills in helping us with our fishing, slaying, preparing and serving us the catch of the day right there on his catamaran! We were impressed!!! Thank you Kurt!!!!!!

I have to say it is a wonderful trip with the Arctic princess. The weather was good, and we caught eight fishes in several hours. Thanks to captain!

Tell each other. Don't sign up. Don't get fooled again!! 2024/12/31 regiment, very poor experience! There's no way to complain. First, the boat that took us on was not the one we ordered, and there was no explanation. Second, the regiment, which had signed up for three hours, had less than 20 minutes of actual fishing time. The rest of the time the captain plays on his own phone, calls and chats in Norwegian, and drifts off at sea, consuming time. Then, after the ship docked, the captain disembarked without notice and packed himself up for work. After we asked, the attitude was bad enough to say whatever you wanted. Without any help getting off the ship, we were helped off by six people in a boat. As well, the captain's attitude throughout and his bad, abusive, racist (saying Chinese xxx), let him teach us how to collect fishing rods and where to put them, he just rolled his eyes and refused to teach. Fishhook wobbling is dangerous. He swears at us when we're asking him to. (Speaks in English saying I'm convinced of balabala.) In the end, the deal to give the fish didn't give it to us. I was afraid of further physical collisions on board the ship and my life was in danger, so I didn't dare to film the video to leave evidence, so there was no way to complain. They refused to admit that one bite was for our safety. , refusing to pay. The captain is a small old man. It was the same experience that many people had when they looked at Xiaohong Shu at the end, which showed that they really kept teaching. The matter will then be reported to Tourism Norway, with no false information. I'm trying to write as much as I can about the actual situation here. I hope to see everyone and friends of this post tell each other that I hope no one else is fooled into spending 2,000 yuan per person to be cold-eyed and cursed for three hours.

Our goal was to fish once in Norway. There were four of us on board. I think this boat may have room for 10 people. The skipper was very patient with us.We all had no experience. Ultimately, each of us caught a fish, from which a really good soup was cooked that warms from the inside in this cold. Thanks again to the skipper for his patience with us. Maybe we'll see each other again in the summer again I can do the excursion, especially for beginners, Recommend.

鱼很重！钓鱼的部分非常快乐…鱼上钩超级快～船舱很暖和～鱼汤非常好喝～比很多饭店的都好喝～船长手艺超棒～吃得非常饱～多余的鱼也妥善处理了…如果不带走后面钓的很多鱼都放走了～感觉很好～照片拍得也很棒！整个旅程感觉还是非常充实的～
