We enjoyed the evening. Special thank you to our guides Anastasia and Kinga who were both lovely and knowledgeable. They worked very hard to find the lights when we had bad cloud in most of the areas. We found them at the end on the way home, and it was spectacular. I would just say there could be some improvement on the food and drink, I would recommend bringing something along as it is a long night. We had a very small group, I feel the experience would have been very different if there had been a bus full of people. It was very cozy and we got many photos :) just something to bare in mind

Superb experience. Highly recommend. Great guides and just to experience this was already something unforgettable.
We had a great tour with guide Anastasia en driver Morton. We left Tromsø with a lot of clouds, but within 20 minutes we were lucky to see the northern lights thanks to the guide who spotted it (and had good contact with other guides). Anastasia took a lot of time to make great pictures of everybody with the lights. Also, she gave us a lot of information about Tromsø and the northern lights. We really enjoyed it and can recommend this tour.
We went out on the big bus Aurora tour and had a great experience seeing the Aurora dancing in the sky after an initially cloudy and grim forecast. Our guide was Paolo and you couldn't ask for a better person to lead a tour, knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic throughout. This was our third attempt of the trip to see the lights and this was by far the best and most enjoyable. Anastasia was also great at the lodge for getting everyone outside when the lights were picking up! Being at a lodge you have the option of warming up and being fed! Highlight of our trip and would highly recommend
I had an amazing experience on my Tromsø Aurora trip! The whole tour was well-organized, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. A huge shoutout to our guides, Anastasia and Mark—they were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more enjoyable. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and had the best chance to see the Northern Lights. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tromsø!
Amazing trip! Staff were friendly and helpful. Food great. Very entertaining and informative. Loved it xx
A wonderful aurora tour! I joined this tour on the 23rd and will never forget it. I even captured the three colors of the aurora! I thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
The aurora borealis today was incredible. I saw green and pink. They flowed as if they were dancing. Absolutely fantastic! The tour guide was incredibly responsible and enthusiastic. There was an adorable little dog at the campsite. Dinner was great, and the hot cocoa was delicious. I especially loved the firewood there. The price is also reasonable and worthy.
It was an unforgettable experience, we saw beautiful aurora even tought the weather was cloudy most of the time. Professional guides, interresting stories and pleasant peak to the Sami culture.
Margot was great. Our driver was also awesome. He was so knowledgeable. Told us interesting stories. Really knew the area inside out. Fabulous experience. The best!!!!
Our Aurora Safari Minibus tour with Best Arctic was an unforgettable experience, made even more special by the incredible team. Miel, our host, was simply outstanding—knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the northern lights. He explained the science behind the aurora, how to predict its appearance, and the best ways to capture it on camera. His insights enhanced the entire experience, turning the evening into both an adventure and a learning opportunity. Per, our driver, was calm, friendly, and highly skilled, navigating challenging snowy roads with ease, taking us on a smooth and safe journey deep into the Arctic wilderness in search of clear skies. His driving allowed us to relax, knowing we were in good hands. The minibus itself was comfortable and warm, which made the long drive pleasant. Miel and Per worked seamlessly together, adjusting the route based on real-time forecasts and sky conditions. Their determination paid off when we finally reached a perfect viewing spot, and the northern lights put on a spectacular show. The aurora was breathtaking—dancing greens and pinks across the night sky. Overall, this tour exceeded all expectations. With Miel’s expertise and Per’s excellent driving, we had a safe, comfortable, and awe-inspiring evening. If you’re in Tromsø and want the best chance of seeing the northern lights, this is the tour to take.
A totally unpleasant experience. in the desperation to make as much money as possible they do not take into account the weather conditions that make it impossible for the aurora borealis to appear and transport tourists for 6 hours to chase clouds when it is known from the beginning that it is in vain. impossible to cancel without losing all the money. I do not recommend The driver and the guide tried to do their best!
Margot was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and helpful. We felt that the trip could have been shorter, we spent a long time by the water in freezing temperatures when the lights were very faint.
Great experience with Best Arctic. Our guides Juan and Maw were very professional, the camp so nice. I appreciated the confort of the trip and the explanations. Everything was very easy. I recommand.
The guides were excellent and we did get to see the Northern Lights! The meal was delicious too. There was a lot of confusion with the meeting point - it is not at the Radisson Blu as advertised but a ten minute walk down the street. Multiple employees said they could not help us, eventually one did and realised multiple groups were in the wrong spot. Just double check the meeting point after booking as they have three offices in the town.
Tour cancelled due to bad weather. Appreciated the email to inform us about this prior. I'm sure it would have been awesome
THIS WAS AN OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH, THE CREW WERE FANTASTIC, EXPLAINED EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED TO KNOW ABOUT CAMERA/PHONE SETTINGS TOGET THE BEST PICTURES. THE LIGHTS THEMSELVES WERE OUTSTANDING. THE HOT DRINK & SOUP WERE WELCOMING
Booked to feed reindeer, go sledding and see if we could view northern lights. Staff member who greeted at the bus was friendly & efficient. All the Sami people who were present for reindeer feeding, hot meal, tourist shop & culture talk were lovely. Staff did their best to keep us warm and entertained. Plenty of hot drinks and bread to go with the meal. option of a second helping plus cookies. I had vegetable soup option over reindeer stew - petting them, hearing about their affectionate personalities and then eating them was not for me!. Sadly, due to weather conditions, reindeer sledding was unable to happen for safety reasons. (They did say they would refund this part for us). No mention of seeing the Northern Lights, though?. Assumed we were doing this by coach when we left, as sledding was off a time window was still available before our expected arrival back at the meeting point. No. Just dropped back?!. Disappointing for the company not to at least try and find the lights, or to announce why we weren’t going. Instead, nothing said. Spent £1,000+ for a 2 day trip to Norway for my husband’s milestone birthday. Seeing the Northern Lights was on his bucket list. Whilst it’s no fault of the tour that weather conditions weren’t right for sledding or seeing the aurora borealis, notification by the driver or tour guide would’ve been nice. We didn’t see the aurora at all. It had been visible earlier that morning, apparently, but we were saving the experience for this excursion to make it more ‘special’. So instead we didn’t see them at all. Not recommended for young, lively children. 45 minute coach journey each way is too long for bored, tiny humans plus being quiet during Sami presentation. Take them when older rather than spoil an expensive experience for everyone else. Having Sami food in a teepee is nice. Not cold. Plenty of toilets - heads up, they are chemical ones - and an opportunity to buy souvenirs at their little shop. Being a ‘tourist’ trip, it attracts a variety of International visitors. It is very busy - full coach load. Some cultures not as quiet or polite as others !. If conditions are right, I bet the full experience is amazing.
Margot was an incredible guide, who loves her work and was smart and strategic about the Northern Lights. We got to see them and learned a lot from her. One of the best tour guides I have had in any capacity. Nice van, nice stop for the lights with good hot chocolate and good soup. I thought the overall experience was truly memorable.
Our guide Juan was wonderful. Our driver Gustav did a good job. The hot chocolate and food was great. The lights were spectacular.
Juan and Andreas were absolutely amazing! Andreas is a really skilled driver and an even better photographer. Juan - the guide - was really entertaining. He shared the science behind the lights as well as small anecdotes. This made the whole journey really entertaining and enjoyable. They even stopped midway on the way back when they spotted some more activity in the sky and we managed to see the lights again from a different location. We took tours with three different agencies on three consecutive days and this was the best considering the whole package. I cannot recommend them enough. Keep up the great work, guys!
Excellent tour. Well organised, friendly and informative. Weather conditions were not great but with persistence and guidance from Enrico we saw the lights and took some photographs. The additional major plus factor was the camp with inside fires and hot food to warm up. Highly recommended.
Worst company i delt with with zero customer satisfaction and they only care about the money. I had booked two trips on the same day with the promise that the 1st trip finishes by 5 or 6. Hence the 2nd trip was a private tour for the aurora hunt and starts by 7:30 pm. We finished the first trip and returned to tromso by 6:40 as we were late by best arctic and one meber from my group got really sick. Henc, i went online to search for an emergency number and couldnt find any. The next day i went to the office and told best arctic about the situation, and without any hesitation or consideration they told us to contact the ensurance for a refund. They didnt offer any reschedule nor refund; noting thay we paid 19,000 NOK. When I told them that we couldnt find an emergency number; they said you should call the land line. The private tour for aurora hunt was made just one day prioir and the cancelation policy gave us 48 hours gap; this made us fall in a gray area due to short term arrangment. To our surprise we were not compensated nor satisfied and we paid a fortune for this trip. My advice dont go for big names when organizng your trips as we were told that best arcyic were the best and in reality and based on our experience they were lower than expected. They only care about money.
Well organised, professional, and plenty of info on the coach. The weather conditions for the trip to Sommarøy where not encouraging but Kinga said keep the faith and pray, miracles can happen! After going thru a blizzard for 20 mins we arrived at camp. Lovely setting over looking the water but cloudy. After an hour there was a few clear patch’s and false alarms. Time to go inside the hut and warm up with a choice of hot drinks or soup. Within in 10 minutes the shout goes up its visible with the naked eye. Screams of joy cameras out and a good show. Worth the wait, just pray ! Great driver, very safe on dicy roads. Guides helped with camera settings and loan of tripod
Great experience to tick off bucket list of seeing the Northern Lights. The guides helped us in viewing and photographing. Amazing!
Our guides, Paolo and Jeanne, were nice and provided a lot of interesting insights about Tromso and the Northern Light phenomenon. We had the chance to see Northern Lights, this was a good day with good solar intensity. Paolo took nice pictures and they can be downloaded for free from the site...if you choose the liw resolution pictures ( 300K). If you want high resolution pictures, it is 300 NOK per picture...it isnot fair
The guide was very helpful and enthusiastic. We saw the full Aurora eventually after some uncertainty. This was the best part.
Nice camp and guides. Provided good explanation of northern light made greate photos and told interesting stories
Good tour and facilities. Knowledgable guides.. Reindeer stew was marginal. Campfires were a nice touch.
Highly recommend Best Artic "Base" tour to chase Northern Lights. Our Guides Lorenzo and Alex explained about Northern lights very well and answered all our querries. The base camp is in a barn house, is very comfortable with toilet facilities and us being served tea -coffee and a mini meal. To get our photos clicked by them and the fact that we can view and download our photos within the next few days is memorable documentation for us. No freezing in the open for long time
We knew we were unlikely to see the lights due to the weather conditions, but hoped going with a guide, this may have increased our chances. We travelled 45 minutes to another overcast and snowy area to be welcomed with hot beverages. We waited patiently in a field for an hour and a half with no signs of clearing weather. Not even the moon was visible. We were provided with hot food (of sorts) totally unappetising, and waited again in a field until 11.45pm even though the snow was getting heavier.
Excellent service, professional and friendly. Even IF a situation outside of their control due to weather or other... flexible and understanding
We did not see the Aurora due to tricky weather, but due to the fantastic guide Paul and the superb bus driver Tor we had an excellent night out in the Lyngen area. Safe and very well organized trip. Highly recommended
So happy for this experience, it was the icing on the cake for my travel to Tromsö. Really guides and we took a non-crowded and comfortable bus to a sami tent where we saw northern lights dancing for almost half an hour. When it was too cloudy we stayed in the tent to drink some cocoa and heat up on the open fire. Was in Tromsö for 2 days before to chase the northern lights by myself, but theese guys are experts. Totally worth the money. Also got several high quality photos and videos from the night so I will remember this for ever.
We didn’t see much of the lights, probably only for around 5 minutes on the camera but it was quite cloudy and Mother Nature can’t be helped. Hot chocolate and cakes were great. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the lights and took us to the best spots to wait. Mini bus was very comfortable and warm. Thanks for the experience! And getting photos the next day was a bonus
Being at a specific base is not the best choice to "hunt" the northern lights. The guide told us they almost all the time go to this specific base because it has the best weather conditions in the area. Unfortunately the weather was very bad(snow and clouds). We waited all night at this same base praying for clear skies. We did not see the lights, which is not the agency's fault of course, but after making this booking we realised it wasn't the smartest. Northern lights are hard to spot, and you have to keep searching for clear skies. The guides are nice and the base is lovely but it is just a "wait and wish for your luck" tour. They have the intention to show you the lights (unlike other agencies who just want to sell you tickets), and on our way back from the base since we did not catch the lights, our guide stopped the bus a little bit and checked for clear skies. In summary if you wish for comfort and don't mind waiting it is a good choice for you, but the lights are meant to be chased.
Disapointed with this trip which was cancelled one day, rearranged and then no lights to be seen. Im sure if the lights had appeared all would have been forgiven, but with hindsight and talking to others, it seems some other trips are more inclined to stay and see if the lights appear, while this trip was ended slightly early as it seems the driver wanted to get back to Tromso. The coach trip itself was fine and the hosts were welcoming and friendly, the photographer was helpful and some good night pictures were taken. It seemed to me though that the trip was ended almost as soon as the skies started to clear, another half hour and who knows?
The forecast wasn’t great weather-wise, however we drove for an hour and a half to a reindeer camp. The lights were out as soon as we arrived which was exciting. The stay at the base camp felt excessively long in cold conditions given the lights came out more than once, 3-4 hours there wasn’t really needed and toward the end people were still huddling in the Lavvus even when the lights were out as it was cold. The main lavvu got over smokey so we had to go to the other little one and as an asthmatic I suffered a fair bit with the smoke watching the yoiking. I’ve been fine in other campfires in Norway but this one left me feeling unwell and a lot of people on the coach were coughing when they first got on from it. The yoiking was good and the reindeer stew was the best we had whilst in Norway. It’s a super cold trip so as well as thermal layers and a jumper wear a second jumper and a third pair of socks :) we didn’t get our picture with the lights but the guide takes pics of the aurora if your camera doesn’t work and you find the page on facebook so you’ll definitely capture the moment. Overall completely recommend as if the Aurora are out you’ll see them and the guide entertains on the way there is a long drive :) (only caveats not for children under 10 or asthmatics, which seems fair I hope :))
Enjoyed out time. Was abit of a long 1.5 hour couch ride out of the city but that was due to weather, had we not do this wr would not have seen any night sky and no opportunity to see the aurora. We went to a sami tent and we paid extra for the raindeer soup. This soup was REAL good, I had two lots as he said come on back if you want more. We got to see the Green light in the sky which was more than i was dragged along to expect to see. So got some pictures and ticked that off. Was -20 out there though so I would suggest wrapping up!

Title mentioned to Lapland, but actually it's to Norway instead. anyway, overall good experience and very friendly and helpful staff.

Everything was exactly as promised. No complains at all about this company and their service. I am not giving Excellent because it is a tough evening. To stay outside for ours, with no restrooms or a cabin to recover from the cold can be very difficult. We tried the next day to go for the lights in a base outside the city and it was much more comfortable. Anyway, my wife and my 13 yo son faced very well the evening outside, and if they did, anyone can do it. Just be aware it can be harsh.

Great guide, great snacks, overall a memorable experience.

Our guide was very friendly and professional. The tour took us to natural/wild places with no city light where we saw beautiful auroras (we were very lucky as the auroras depend on the meteorological and solar conditions, the guide cannot guarantee that you will see them). The guide helped us to manage some of our camera settings and the photos are wonderful.
First of all, there is no guaranty to see the aurora. It is a matter of luck and weatherconditioms. On the night of my trip the chances to see the lights were low and it was freezing.5 minutes before the tour was over, the lights came out - lucky me. The guides were highly professional and did everything to make us comfortable. That's what i call “customer first“ - thank you for a good and freezing trip.

I wish every trip can take your breath away. Loved the glistening alps surrounding the basecamp, the hot chocolate in the cold, the bon fire and cookies. Perhaps one without prior experience would miss on the point of going there - The Northern Lights - if they didn't bring a long a professional camera as mobile phones don't really capture the spectrum as well. Otherwise, a perfect getaway from the office.

Amazing. Our guide William was very knowledgable. The location was great with only a small group of people. We was very lucky the northern lights stayed out for hours and we got some amazing photographs

A completely disorganised waste of time and money. Whilst I appreciate that there is no guarantee of seeing the Northern Lights, organisation is no excuse. I received no meal...i was only told this on arrival and no camp fire. The guide did not help with setting up my camera even when I asked. Granted though there was not much to see. I sst on the bus for six hours only to get off and see the Finish border. How dull and a huge was of time and money. I would say this was thecwost tour I had ever been on, and I have been on many. Do not use this company is my clar view. I put in a complaint via Viator and to the company.

Suzanna im not sure of spelling was a lovely guide whose knowledge of the northern lights was limitless! had a great time!

Base station was in a lovely location surrounded by snowy mountains. The coach trip was an easy run from Tromos along the fjord. The base station was less busy and commercialised than I expected, with good amenities. We had some great sightings of the Northern Lights. Our guides were great and very helpful. We met the site owner and we interviewsed by Norwegian TV! Enjoyed a lovely fish soup and homemade foccacia - scrummy. Really enjoyed the whole trip. Thank you

The tour was amazing. We had a lot of luck with the weather. We had a pleasure to see nothern lights in full brightness. I would gladly do it again some time. Would recommend to anyone who loves nature and can handle cold weather.
